HS-On

The Modified Format is the standard format for Pokémon events.  The current Modified Format for Pokémon TCG this season is "HS-On", meaning that cards from sets before HeartGold SoulSilver (HS) are not allowed in play.   Below is a list of the sets included in this format.  Only cards from these sets are playable.

*EXCEPTIONS:

• Basic Energy Cards from ANY set (with ANY symbol) are playable.

• Most previously printed cards that appear in Modified sets are playable.  In some cases, players are required to provide an external reference of the most recent printing.

• In addition, newly released sets become tournament legal and playable the day of their official release in the United States.  By official release date, we mean the date of their official release for sale in US retail stores.  This does NOT include Prerelease events.
  
  

REMINDERS:

• Cards marked with the words "NOT TOURNAMENT LEGAL" are NOT playable.
  
  
  
• Foreign cards of any kind are NOT playable.  (Not even foreign Energy Cards).
  
  
• If you use card sleeves, make sure that your sleeves are tournament legal as well.
