A Farfetch’d appeared in You Ain’t Nothin’ but a Houndour, under the ownership of a boy living in Azalea Town. Both the boy and Farfetch’d fell victim to the onslaught of the Masked Man‘s Pokémon in the depths of Ilex Forest.
In A Flaaffy Kerfuffle, Bill was seen using a Farfetch’d as a mode of transport. It later helped Bill escape from Staryu, but it got trapped with him. They were later rescued by Crystal in Surrounded by Staryu.

And one of the more complicated evolutions is the new Pokemon Sword exclusive Galarian Farfetch’d. Shiny Galarian Farfetchd will be added to the game during the Pokemon Go Ultra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield event. This will begin on Friday, August 20th and it will remain in the game long after the event is over. Here are all the different ways players might be able to find its Shiny form.
- In The Wild: Players may stumble across a wild Galarian Farfetchd naturally. This has the chance of being Shiny.
- Raid Battles: Galarian Farfetchd will appear in 1-star raid battles from August 20th to August 26th. It will appear Shiny during the capturing phase if players are lucky.
- Eggs: Galarian Farfetchd will appear in 7km eggs. Make sure to stock up on Incubators before the event begins.
The main gimmick with Shiny Pokemon is how rare they are. Players who encounter them outside of Community Day or special events are considered some of the luckiest players in the world. The odds are incredibly slim, but thats what makes the hunt so special. It will remain in the game once the event is over, but the best time to capture it will be during Ultra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield.

To celebrate the launch of the Isle of Armor expansion for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, Galarian Farfetchd is now appearing in the wild in Pokemon Go.
In Sword and Shield, Galarian Farfetchd can be evolved into Sirfetchd. However, this evolution isnt available in Pokemon Go as of this writing.
This regional version of Farfetchd will only be available until June 18 at 6 a.m. PT. If you want to eventually have both Galarian Farfetchd and Sirfetchd in your Pokemon Go collection, make sure to catch at least two of these regional Farfetchd now before its too late.

This is a guide on how to evolve Galarian Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d in Pokemon Sword and Shield. To evolve Farfetch’d in this new form you need to land 3 critical hits in one battle, at any level. Use the instructions below to achieve this goal:
- Catch a Galarian Farfetch’d on Route 5 or Wild Area in Pokemon Sword, or trade to get one in Pokemon Shield
- Make sure you have Farfetch’d signature held item, Leek, equipped for higher critical hit rate, and purchase a few Dire Hits from the Poke Mart
- Make sure you know a weak move, like Peck or Rock Smash
- Get into a battle with a tanky wild Pokemon such as Wobuffet or Onix
- Use a Dire Hit to further increase your critical hit rate in the battle, and if you are worried about your opponent fainting your Farfetch’d you can use an X Defense / X Sp. Def as well
- After setting up your stat boosts, start attacking the enemy Pokemon and hope for some critical hits. This is a luck based situation, so it may take a few attempts to get all 3 critical hits

Galarian Farfetchd was introduced in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield for the Nintendo Switch, along with a myriad of other Galarian Pokémon forms. Each generation of Pokémon has several creatures you can only find in specific regions. These can be specific countries , entire continents , certain regions and even halves of the planet .
These creatures are fairly common spawns in these regions, so if you are visiting for a short period, it wont take long to find them.
Regionals can be found spawning in the wild so dont expect them in gyms or in nests. From September 2019, regionals have also been made available in Eggs but only from their respective regions. This is also the only way to get Mime Jr., the Gen 4 pre-evolution to Gen 1s regional exclusive Mr Mime.

To celebrate the release of Pokémon Sword and Shields latest DLC, The Crown Tundra, Pokémon Go is reintroducing Farfetchd Galarians variation into the wild once moreand its quite easy to put them through the knighting ceremony.
Here are the steps you need to follow to get Sirfetchd in Pokémon Go.
Poké Balls thrown during raids count as well, which could be a quicker option to notch the requisite amount due to Raid Pokémon usually having a lower catch rate and a larger size.
Instead of holding onto your Poké Ball and watching the catching reticle shrink and expand, its possible to set the circle at its Excellent position simply by letting go. Then, wait for the Pokémon to attack and throw the ball.
The special requirement and focus on precision is similar to how the Wild Duck Pokémon evolves in Pokémon Swordand Shield, where they have to land three critical hits in a single battle.

First things first, Farfetchd is a Sword exclusive Pokemon. The only way youre going to find a wild Farfetchd is by playing through Sword and encountering it.
Shield users can, of course, trade for it from a Sword player and the evolution requirements remain the same, but were just stating the obvious in case you were not aware that it was a version exclusive.
Anyway, Farfetchd can be found on Route 5 and once you have one, in theory, it can evolve at anytime assuming you meet its unique evolution requirements.
Farfetchd must get three critical hits in one trainer battle in order to evolve.

Where To Find A Galarian Farfetchd In Pokmon Sword
The Galar version of Farfetchd will only pop up in two places in the wild in Pokémon Sword and the spawn rates are pretty low, so if you want to catch one, youll likely need to search for a while to get the chance to catch one.
The easiest place to get one is on Route 5, which is the road that leads out of Turffield , and I had the most success finding Farfetchd in the patches of grass by the pond . You should be able to find a Galarian Farfetchd anywhere n Route 5 however, remember that the spawn rate is pretty low. The good news is if one does spawn, youll always see it walking around the map, it wont spawn as a random encounter.
This isnt the only place you can find a Farfetchd in Galar, you can also find one in the Giants Mirror area inside the Wild Area however, Pokémon found there will be a pretty high level, so you likely wont be able to catch one in the Giants Mirror for quite some time.
How To Evolve Galarian Farfetchd Into Sirfetchd In Pokmon Go
To evolve a Galarian Farfetchd into Sirfetchd in Pokémon Go, you first need to have the Galarian Farfetchd as your Buddy Pokémon.
Once youve done this, youll need to collect 50 Farfetchd Candy and make 10 Excellent throws while Galarian Farfetchd is your Buddy Pokémon.
This may sound difficult, but, thankfully, you dont need to perform these Excellent throws in a row nor will the counter reset if you decide you dont want the Galarian Farfetchd to be your Buddy for a while.
We recommend keeping an eye out for Pokémon with large catch circles, such as Mr. Mime or Wailmer, as it will make judging your throws far easier. You can also use Nanab Berries to slow a Pokémons movements, making it easier for you to land that Excellent throw.
