Raikou can be defeated with three trainers, but if you cannot guarantee the top counters with maxed out CP and the best moves, your best bet is to make sure you have four or five players.

Using the Circle Lock Technique to guarantee Great or Excellent throws, along with Golden Razz Berries, is the best way to catch Raikou. It has an easy-to-hit circle and isn’t generally a big runner, so go in with patience and precision and you will be set.

Conversion From Other Systems

Generation I and II

Pokémon can be transported from the Generation I and II core series games to Pokémon Bank using the Poké Transporter. Due to these games having a different IV system to later generations, the IVs of transported Pokémon are regenerated, but it is guaranteed to have at least three IVs of 31 . There is no relationship between the Pokémon’s IVs in the Generation I or II game and in Pokémon Bank.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon can be transported from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! at the GO Park complex. Due to these games having a different IV systems, the IVs of transported Pokémon must be converted.

The Pokémon’s HP, Attack, and Defense IVs in the core series game are its corresponding stats in Pokémon GO, multiplied by 2, plus 1. Its Special Attack IV is always equal to its Attack IV, and its Special Defense IV is always equal to its Defense IV. Its Speed IV is randomly generated upon being caught.

What Is An Iv In Pokemon Go

Each Pokemon has 3 separate IVs: these are hidden values between 0 and 15 for the Attack, Defense, and Stamina stats. These values determine how powerful a Pokemon will be at its maximum level.

Not all Pokémon are equal: two max-level Pokémon can have different IVs, resulting in one which will be more powerful then the others. For example, a level 40 Lapras can have a CP of between 2,229 and 2,603.

This means that in the worst case, you could end up with a Lapras which is only 85% as powerful as it could be!

What Are Pokmon Go Ivs

Pokémon Go IVs are hidden stats that are randomly generated when a Pokémon is caught or hatched. These values are between 0 and 15, with a separate value for each stat. If youre lucky, they can increase a Pokémons base stats by roughly 10 percent.

Just like in classic Pokémon titles, each type of Pokémon has base stats. In Pokémon Go however, there are only three stats: Attack, Defense, and Stamina. Attack and Defense are obvious, but Stamina affects both HP and how long a Pokémon can defend in a gym before needing to rest.

While every Squirtle might have the same base stats, their final stats vary. These are Squirtles base stats compared with perfect IV stats:

  • Attack 94 vs 109
  • Defense 122 vs 137
  • Stamina 88 vs 103

These stats are then put together into CP , which is main way a Pokémons strength is displayed in Pokémon Go. However, CP also takes Pokémon levels into account, so a 500 CP Squirtle may not have better IVs than a 150 CP Squirtle. The only way to know the true potential of a Pokémon is to check their IVs.

Its also worth noting that IVs remain the same through evolution, so feel free to evolve that perfect IV Squirtle into a Blastoise.

All About Latios: Best Moveset Stats Shiny Latios And More

100% IV ONIX HATCHED! Pokemon GO Egg Hatching Chart ...

Know your enemy. Here’s a little list of things we think you should know about Latios and its raid encounter in Pokemon Go:

  • Latios has 52220 Raid Boss CP.
  • Latios is Dragon & Psychic-type. That means its weak to Dragon, Ice, Dark, Fairy, Ghost and Bug-type Pokemon and moves.
  • When captured, its maximum CP will be 2178 CP, or 2723 CP with a Windy weather boost.
  • Like all Pokemon, Latios has a range of different moves it can learn. For our money, the best moveset is Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw , as these two will make it a decent counter for dragon-types – and many raids, like this one, are dragon-focused.
  • Shiny Latios is available from raids – you just have to hope the random chance gods look favorably upon you.

What If You Don’t Have The Best Movesets In Pokmon Go

Since the introduction of the Raid Battle system in June 2017, you can get Technical Machines to change your movesets. Two of the possible rewards for beating Raid Bosses are Quick TM and Fast TM, which can be used to change Quick Moves and Charge Moves respectively. Regular TMs are completely random and cannot access Legacy Moves.

Legacy Moves are special moves that were once available for a Pokémon but are no longer. Sometimes they were removed when Niantic re-balanced the game. Some were only available on Community Day or in special Raids. Either way, if a Legacy Move happens to be the best possible move for a Pokémon and you don’t have it, you cannot get it with a normal TM. Before you use a TM on any Pokémon, you should always check to see if the move you’re changing is a Legacy Move and if that move is worth having. A lot of Legacy Moves don’t perform well, but some of them are the best moves in the game.

More recently, Niantic introduced Elite TMs. These TMs are rare, and often difficult to get or expensive, but allow you to choose from any move a Pokémon can have, including Legacy Moves. They aren’t random either. You get to choose the move. Because of how hard it is to get Elite TMs, you’ll want to save them for your very best Pokémon, but hey, now you can have a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball and Psystrike!

A Note About Competitive Pokemon Formats

The first thing players need to consider is what kind of competitive format they wish to participate in. In general, there are two main formats: One officially endorsed by The Pokemon Company, and the unofficial casual competitive format.

The official tournament format sponsored by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company is the Video Game Championship Series. The main focus of the VGC is a double battles format that is tiered based on your age bracket. Players participating in VGC can also earn enough points for the Video Game World Championships, the international championship finals, and are subject to various rule changes such as banned Pokemon in some seasons.

The unofficial competitive format is known as Smogon, one of the longest fan-run competitive formats in Pokemon. Smogon follows single battle format with tier listings, where it lists each Pokemon in various tiers of play for fair matchups. Smogon is also involved in banning or limiting several Pokemon and strategies, such as banning Baton Pass strategies or certain Mega-Evolutions in previous generations.

Therian Forme Landorus follows the trend of the other Forces of Nature raids in how they are quite easy due to how weak they can be to Ice attacks. If you have two players that are high level, best friends, and with the best counters, it is possible to beat Therian Forme Landorus, but youre going to need the best run possible to pull that off. Due to this, we recommend you have at least three to four people with good counters to take down this Pokémon.

Shadow Pokemon And 100 Ivs

When Team Rocket brought Shadow Pokemon into Pokemon Go they also gave trainers a much greater chance of perfect stats. While it might be costly for some species, purifying a Shadow Pokemon gives each IV an automatic boost of two.

That means if a Shadow Pokemon has, for example, 2 attack, 5 defense and 8 stamina, upon purification it will become 4 attack, 7 defense and 10 stamina. So, if you can find a Shadow Pokemon with an IV of 13 for each stat then you essentially have a perfect IV Pokemon.

You have a 3 in 16 chance of a particular stat being 13 or more. This means you have a 1 in 152 chance of getting IVs of 15 across the board every time you capture a Shadow Pokemon.

Sword And Shield Iv Farming

While the above is just the basic information you need for IV training, remember that for competitive play, Pokemon need more than just perfect IVs in their Attack, Speed, or whatever stats you want to focus on. That said, obtaining a Pokemon that has excellent IVs will increase your viability for competitive play, so it is well worth sinking some time into. Thankfully with Max Raid Battles, that time is rewarding for players, making the obtaining of perfect IVs easier compared to previous generations.

To really get down to the nitty gritty of tailoring your Pokemon, players need to also understand how the aforementioned EVs work as well. That, however, will be the subject of our next article in the Battle Academy series. Until then, class is dismissed for now.

Pokmon Go: Best Movesets August 2021

While it may seem like Combat Power or stats are the most important factors in Pokémon Go, movesets play a critical role as well. Movesets are the combination of the fast attack and charged attack your Pokémon uses in battles.

The wonderful, terrible thing about movesets is that they’re usually determined at random. The good news is that, with Technical Machines and Elite TMs, you change your old, terrible moves. But how do you know which movesets will help your Pokémon win at PvP Trainer Battles and decimate Gyms and Raids and which will make a fight simply unwinnable? Here’s the newly updated list! Latios Counters For Beating The Raid

How to Find Perfect IV Pokemon, Pokemon Go

An important part of any high-end Pokemon battle, be that versus another trainer, a gym or especially a raid situation is to know your counters. Pokemon Counters are based on a few factors including the best Pokemon tier lists that determine which Pokemon are the best overall in the game, Pokemon Type strengths and weaknesses and of course Pokemon movesets.

Before we get to the raid counter list, which is broken into three tiers , let’s just talk about what in general is the best. As a dragon type, Latios is weak to other dragons, and all of the top tier of counters are dragon-type Pokemon with high damage output and dragon-type moves. A lot of them are legendary, but there are non-legendary options in the form of Dragonite, Salamence and others. These are hands-down your best bet.

Beyond that, there are a few other options: Gengar is a great option thanks to its ghost-type, another Latios weakness. Ice also works well, and Mamoswine is the best ice-type in the game – something that also helps Weavile, who has a mix of ice and dark type moves. Dark-type Pokemon will work as a Latios counter, but expect victory to take a lot longer, or in smaller groups expect to be battling the clock as much as Latios itself with these sorts of Pokemon.

You caught two Pikachu in Pokémon Go, the worlds most popular AR mobile game. As a result, you now have the dilemma of which to keep and let go. You might be thinking that any will do, but hold on a second and do not convert that Pikachu yet to candies because no two Pokémon are alike. This is true even if both are of the same species. In fact, they most likely have a great difference in hidden stats that you can only gauge through a Pokémon Go IV calculator.

What Is Pokmon Go Iv

Before we discuss the Pokémon Go IV calculator or Pokémon type calculator, you need to know first what individual values are. IVs are a set of three randomly generated fixed figures, each being any number from 0 to 15. They are the hidden added values to the base attack, defense, and stamina or HP stats that are uniform across similar species of Pokémon. Knowing the IVs will help you understand how strong a particular Pokémon can get once it reaches its highest level.

For instance, you have two Pikachu with 112-96-111 for the respective base stats mentioned above. One of them has an IV set of 7-8-5 while the other comes with 15-15-15. The better Pikachu of the two will be the one with the higher or perfect IV stats.

Perfect IV Pokémon are very rare because players might catch thousands of weaker versions before getting one. That being said, IVs are a great differentiator for Pokémon and could be your winning factor in Player Versus Player battles.

How Should You Use The New Appraisal Feature

Perfect 100 IV Eevee CP Chart for Community Day : TheSilphRoad

The new Appraisal feature is a great way to quickly discover how powerful your new Pokemon are. Finding out that an old favourite has a three star rating is incredibly gratifying.

It’s especially useful for when you’re comparing a bunch of the same Pokémon, as you can keep the stat appraisal screen open as you move between Pokémon. This allows you to quickly compare stats and star rankings as you try to decide which Pokémon to keep and which ones to release.

You can even search for Pokémon by their specific star tier, just like how you can search for them by name. To do this, you’ll need to search:

  • 0* = 0 Stars
  • 3* = 3 Stars
  • 4* = 3 Stars with a red background / 100% Pokémon

The new ranking system makes it a lot easier to decide which Pokémon are worth investing your Stardust and Candy in. Though it’s still important to remember a Pokémon’s rarity and whether it’s one of the best Pokémon in the game.

Though by and large the closer to 100% this is the better, depending on the Pokémon, some individual stats are more important than others – so it isn’t the be all and end all.

For example, if you have a Snorlax – one of the best creatures to put in a gym with its high health – with a low HP stat, that makes it a less attractive proposition. But then again, because it’s rare, you might not have any alternative Snorlax to rely on. Of course, an average Snorlax will still perform better than others in its field, so it could still be worth Powering up.
