Nope. Shiny Pokémon have the same stats as non-Shiny variants. Which is to say, a range. You can catch a perfect Shiny Magikarp, but you can also catch a not-so-great one. They also have no special movesets or powers of any kind. Aside from looking different, they’re exactly the same.
However, Community Day is the easiest time to catch Shiny Pokémon. If evolved during the event window, Shiny Pokémon will get the exclusive move just like the normal featured Pokémon, so a lot of Shiny Pokémon do have that exclusive move.

Like other Community Days, the Magmar Community Day offers players an opportunity to catch a ton of the featured Pokemon, complete Special Research, and even potentially find a Shiny Pokemon. What Is Pokmon Go Community Day
It’s all part of Pokémon Go’s ongoing efforts to encourage players to get out, discover new places, and meet new people.

Pokémon GO Community Day is an opportunity for Trainers around the world to meet up at their local parks to make new friends and experience what it means to be a part of this special community.
Once a month, we’ll host a Pokémon GO Community Day event starring a special Pokémon, which will frequently appear around the world for just a few hours. When caught during the event, this special Pokémon will know an exclusive move. Other bonuses will be in effect during the event, such as increased XP or Stardust, and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
We’re constantly blown away by the passion of Pokémon GO players around the world, and we hope that each Pokémon GO Community Day will help add to the excitement of local events and meetups. Two Community Day events in two weeks will make any Pokémon Go player happy, especially when they spotlight one of the Kanto region Pokémon.
Last week, trainers saw Electabuzz get the Community Day treatment and now this weekend its counterpart, Magmar, will begin appearing more frequently for a limited time.
The Magmar Community Day event will be the perfect time for Pokémon Go trainers to catch as many of the Fire-type Pokémon as possible, evolve it into its powerful evolution Magmortar, learn an exclusive move and much more. And, of course, this special event will be the best chance to catch a Shiny Magmar.

The Magmar Community Day event in Pokémon Go begins Saturday, November 21, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time
TIMED RESEARCH
As trainers saw with the Electabuzz Community Day event, another timed research mission will start when the event does.
This timed research will likely reward Magmar encounters, and Sinnoh Stones, the item needed to evolve Magmar into Magmortar. There will also be special field research when spinning PokéStops during the six-hour event that will also reward encounters with Magmar.
There is also a Special Research story that trainers can access for $1 in the in-game shop.
Until the event begins we won’t know the contents of either research, but will update this section once it does.

How Do I Make The Most Of This Community Day
During the event, eggs will hatch four times as fast when theyre placed into Incubators and Incense will last three times as long. Shove all your eggs into Incubators during the event and catch a ton of Magmar to make the most of it.
Magmortar isnt fit for PvP and its an OK fire-type raider, but there are much better options. It only cracks the ranks among the other fire-types when its Shadow Magmortar, so make sure to grab a Shadow Magmar if you see one when taking down Team Go Rocket baddies.
For raiding, give Magmortar Fire Spin with either Fire Blast or Fire Punch.
If youre deciding which Shiny Magmar to evolve at the end of the day, try using one of the new search strings. Sort your mons by recent using the lower right icon, and then type 4* in the search box at the top. This will let you know if you have any 100% IV Magmar. Most people wont be so lucky, so next youll want to type 3* in the search box, which will show you any recent mons that are 80% or above. Appraise these to see which one is best, and then evolve your new buddy!

How To Catch Shiny Pokmon In Pokmon Go
Shiny Pokémon are encountered in a variety of different ways, and each Pokémon species itself differs. It might be that you have to encounter the Pokémon in a Raid or through an Evolution.
However, there’s no reliable method to catch a Shiny Pokémon. It’s entirely up to chance, and even then they’re incredibly rare to encounter. Your best bet is to focus on a particular few that you want and repeat the catch requirements until you get one. If you get one.
How To Catch Magmar In Pokemon Go
If you would like to obtain a Magmar in Pokemon Go, it is a rare spawn. The easiest way to go about it would be to hatch a Magby from 5 km eggs and eventually evolve it into a Magmar. While Magmar was a standalone Pokemon in generation one, since it is not the base evolution in Pokemon Go, it has become more uncommon than other Pokemons in the wild. Magmar has also appeared as a tier two raid boss in Pokemon Gyms in the past, so keep an eye out. You will need 25 Magby candies in order to evolve it into Magmar, and another 100 plus a Sinnoh Stone in order to evolve it into Magmortar.

How To Get Shiny Magmar In Pokmon Go During Community Day
You have from 11:00 until 17:00 local time on November 21st to get a Shiny Magmar in Pokémon Go during community day.
During the Magmar community day, the creature will be appearing more frequently in the Wild of Pokémon Go with a Shiny available to get for those who are lucky.
Pokémon Legends Arceus: A familiar region. A new story.
As well as the above prospect, the community day will also provide trainers with the chance of hatching Magby from 2km Eggs.
Not only that, but there will also be exclusive Timed Research tasks available to complete, and these will offer Sinnoh Stones plus other items as rewards.
Ok Fine Just Tell Me How To Catch ’em All
First, you have to find as many Pokémon as you can. That means finding spawns or nests where those types of Pokémon are common. Then tap, tap, tap away and see if you encounter a Shiny.
For eggs and babies, collect as many as you can. Walk as much as you can. And hatch, hatch, hatch.
For the Raid Pokémon, the story is the same. Find the Raids. Beat the Raid Boss. Hope the one you get is Shiny.
Field Research. Find the tasks that give you a Pokémon with a Shiny form, then work with your community to find the PokéStops giving away the right tasks, and then complete as many as you can.

What Are Shiny Pokmon In Pokmon Go
Simply put, Shiny Pokémon are color variants. There is only one Shiny color variant per Pokémon. Some variants are obvious like Shiny Gyarados is red instead of blue. Others are more subtle, like Shiny Bulbasaur or Squirtle, which are the same color but slightly different shades. In the core games, every single Pokémon has a shiny variant, but in Pokémon Go, Shiny Pokémon are unlocked during Community Day, other events, or with updates.
If a Shiny isn’t unlocked, it doesn’t matter how many of that Pokémon you catch, you’ll never find a Shiny Pokémon. On the other hand, once unlocked Shiny Pokémon are far more common in Pokémon Go than they are in the core games, especially during events. Still, they’re pretty rare, so your best bet to finding Shiny Pokémon is to tap on every single Pokémon to spawn. Shiny checking takes time, but once you know which species can be Shiny, it is a lot easier.
Note: One other important thing to consider when Shiny Hunting, generally you cannot catch an evolved Shiny Pokémon. For example, if you tap on an Ivysaur on the map, it cannot be Shiny, even though Shiny Bulbasaur can be caught. There are rare events where this is not the case, and Mega Raids generally have the chance of being Shiny.

Are Shiny Pokmon Shiny For Everyone In Pokmon Go
No. With Ditto, once a Pokémon is determined to be Ditto, the servers make it Ditto for everyone. With Shiny Pokémon, it’s done on a player-by-player basis.
That means you and a friend can both catch the same Magikarp, yours could turn out to be Shiny, and theirs not.
There has been one exception so far: For the July 2018 Community Day, Pokémon Go had Sunglasses Squirtle available through Field Research and, tasks that had a Shiny Sunglasses Squritle were Shiny for everyone!

How To Get Shiny Pokemon In Pokemon Go
If you’ve been playing Pokemon Go for a long time and never stumbled across a shiny, don’t be surprised. The Pokemon Go shiny odds are roughly 1 in 450. This means that every time you tap on a Pokemon to catch it in Pokemon Go – if it has a shiny version – there is a 1 in 450 chance it will be shiny.
However, these odds are dramatically increased on Pokemon Go Community Day to 1 in 25. Community Day happens once a month in Pokemon Go, when a specific Pokemon will flood the streets and appear almost everywhere. Along with the other benefits usually found during Community Day, Pokemon Go shinies become much more popular and you’d have to be considerably unlucky to not find a shiny during Community Day.
You won’t know if you’ve found a shiny Pokemon or not until you tap on it and enter the encounter. If the colour change is subtle, you’ll also know you’ve found a shiny if a bunch of sparks fly out from the Pokemon before you throw the first ball. Eggs trainers receive from Friends will also see different Pokemon hatch from them. Grabbing a 7km Eggs from Gifts will give trainers a chance to hatch from a pool of interesting Pokemon including a handful of Baby Pokemon.
If youre looking for specific Pokemon to try and hatch, Chinchou is a great option as its evolution Lanturn is great in the Ultra League format. Alolan Geodudes evolution Golem may not be the best in PVP, but can really put in work in specific Raids against Flying and Ice-type Pokemon like Yveltal, Lugia and especially Articuno.
Elekids final evolution, Electivire, is a great option against Water and Flying-type Pokemon. It has high attack stats and comes with powerful Electric-type moves.

What Are The Odds Of Finding A Shiny Pokmon In Pokmon Go
Currently, most estimate Shiny encounters outside of events at 1/400, but during events the chances are much higher, sometimes even as high as 1/20. Even outside of events, however, this is a dramatic increase from the 1/4096 base rate in core games, or 1/512 using both the Masuda Method and a Shiny Charm.
That having been said, It’s still random, so you can get a Shiny right away, or it might take you two or even three times as long as someone else. Your best bet to finding Shiny Pokémon is to tap on every single Pokémon that spawns.
Pokemon Go Festival Of Lights Event Start Time
The Festival of Lights event in Pokemon Go will begin Friday, November 5 at 10 a.m. local time and end Sunday, November 14 at 8 p.m. local time.
As mentioned above, trainers will see an abundance of Electric-type Pokemon during the event. Pokemon including Pikachu, Magnemite, Electrike, Blitzle, Tynamo and the debuting Dedenne will be showing up more often in the wild.
But there are some other Pokemon that will be popping up. Slugma, Whismur, Cottonee, Fennekin are also expected to appear with Darumaka and Litwick appearing as rare encounters in the wild.

Pokemon Go Festival Of Lights Start Time And How To Catch Dedenne
The Pokemon Go Festival of Lights event is a brand new event Niantic is debuting in Pokemon Go that will celebrate the Diwali Festival of Lights. As with other events in the game, this will allow for trainers to see a bevy of Pokemon appear in the wild as well as a change in the Raids.
However, for this event, Pokemon Go will add Dedenne to the popular game for the first time. The Electric and Fairy-type from the Kalos region will be catchable and is bringing a ton of other Electric types to the game.
There will be plenty for trainers to do during the Pokemon Go Festival of Lights and weve compiled it all in one place in this handy guide.
Pokemon Go Festival Of Lights Raids
Pokemon Raids will be shifting at the start of the Festival of Lights and as trainers may suspect, they will be occupied by Electric and Fire-type Pokemon. Rare Pokemon like Electabuzz and Magmar will be appearing in Three-Star Raids, while the new Pokemon Dedenne will be occupying One-Star Raids.
The Swords of Justice, Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion, will be the Legendaries that pop up in Five-Star Raids while Mega Manectric will return in Mega Raids. Its not often that Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion appear in Raids so trainers should take advantage and try and catch all three of them while they can.
As for Mega Manectric, like other Megas, its not easy to gather the Mega Energy needed to Mega-Evolve Manectric. Be sure to battle as many Mega Manectric as possible to earn enough energy to perform the evolution. Trainers will need 200 Manectric Mega Energy.
