Buddy Method For Espeon And Umbreon
- You must have walked at least 10km with the Pokémon as your buddy, and have collected at least 2 candy.
- The Pokémon must be your buddy when you evolve it.
You can then choose between Espeon and Umbreon depending on whether you evolve your Eeveeduring the day or at night.
All The Eevee Nickname Tricks
When Pokémon Go launched, there were no evolution stones – items from the core games that allow you to evolve certain Pokémon. Eevee’s first three evolutions normally require these special items to evolve, so Pokémon Go left Eevee’s evolution up to chance. However, the folks over at Niantic did hide a little Easter eggs in game. If you rename an Eevee to these nicknames, each based on a notable NPC’s Pokémon from the anime or core games, they’ll evolve into exactly the Eeveelution you want, but you can only use each one once per account:
- Kira for Sylveon*
Remember, it only works once for each. After that, you’re back to random chance, special lure modules, or walking with Eevee as your buddy. So, choose wisely. Pick the highest stat and highest CP Eevee you can for each one.
Catching Eevee And Collecting Candy
Like any other Pokémon in Pokémon Go, you need to collect Eevee candy before you can get your hands on its evolutions. Eevee requires 25 candy for each. Currently, there are seven Eevee evolutions in the game, which means you will need to collect a total of 175 candy to acquire Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon and the rest.
This is the toughest part because youre going to need to catch a ton of Eevees to make this happen. It requires some patience, but there are ways you can expedite the process. Here is what you can do:
- Use Incense or add a Lure to a Pokéstop to make Pokémon spawn more frequently.
- Use Pinap berries when you spot an Eevee. This will double the candy you receive if you successfully catch it. Use Great or Ultra balls to decrease the chance of Eevee escaping.
- Already have an Eevee? Make it your walking buddy, enable Adventure Sync, and receive candy for every kilometer you walk, whether you have the app open or not.
- Hatch eggs! Eevee is available from 5km eggs and is relatively common.
- Complete field research tasks Eevee can appear in reward encounters.
- Be on the lookout for Community Days and events. They can have increased spawn rates for certain Pokémon, including Eevee.

Evolve Eevee Into Each Of Its Unique Evolutions
Evolving new Pokémon is a huge part of the allure of the entire franchise, but especially so for Pokémon GO. Taking a seemingly useless character and upgrading them, making them tougher and more challenging, is always fun. But for Pokémon they also take on unique forms and attributes, such as new types and attacks. And none are more effective at evolving than Eevee who can evolve into tons of different forms. But there are tricks to them all. Heres all the best Eevee evolutions and how to them them all in Pokémon GO.
How Do You Evolve Sylveon In Pokemon Go
Sylveon, Eevee’s Fairy type evolution, has finally made its Pokemon Go debut. The next and final Eeveelution was unlocked on May 25, 2021.
In the core games, Sylveon has had two different means of evolution, Affection in the Pokemon X and Y, and Friendship combined with a Fairy type move in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Since neither mechanic exists in Pokemon Go, Niantic is instead using Pokemon Go Buddy Adventure in order to evolve Sylveon. Trainers must earn 70 hearts with Eevee as their Buddy Pokemon to evolve a Sylveon!

Kanto Starters Event Costumes In Pokmon Go
Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle – the Kanto, and most well known, starter Pokémon in the franchise. Thanks to this special status, the Gen 1 starters have been given a number of special costumes in Pokémon Go.
For Squirtle this includes a pair of sunglasses, which is reference to the Squirtle Squad from the Pokémon anime.
The clone versions of the final evolutions for the Gen 1 starters – Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise – are a reference to Pokemon: The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back, in which these three Pokémon, among others, are cloned by Mewtwo.

How To Get Sylveon In Pokemon Go
Sylveon, the most recent addition to the Eeveelutions, and the method to obtaining it is a bit tedious but totally worth it. Trainers can check out our Pokemon Go Sylveon guide for more in-depth details, but the gist to getting Sylveon is through the friendship meter in Pokemon Go.;
Trainers need to make Eevee their buddy and earn 70 hearts with it. Again, this will take a while, but as long as trainers can maximize the amount of hearts earned each day they will eventually get to that mark. Trainers will know they received the right amount of hearts when the silhouette in the evolution area of Eevees in-game information screen shows Sylveon.;

How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon In Pokemon Go
Pokemon Go currently has Pokemon from several generations… and the most recent Eevee Evolution added to the game is Sylveon, a Pokemon added in generation 6. In the main Pokemon games, Sylveon evolves based off your Affection and Friendship stats, which maps to the Pokemon Buddy Feature that Pokemon Go has.
First of all, the nickname trick continues to work with Sylveon. To get it first, take an Eevee and rename it to Kira – then evolve it. The first time you do this, you’ll get a Sylveon. After this, however, you’ll have to evolve into Sylveon in the traditional way, as this is a one-time trick per eeveelution.
For further chances to evolve Eevee to Sylveon, you’ll need to get 70 Buddy Hearts with an Eevee – which puts your relationship with that Pokemon at the ‘Great Buddy’ level. After this, you simply need to evolve that Eevee with 25 Eevee candy, and you’ll get the fairy-type Sylveon in return.
All of these work with the Flower Crown Eevee or Shiny Eevee – so you can use these tricks to get yourself a Shiny Sylveon or a Flower Crown Sylveon.
Pokemon Go Community Day: How To Evolve Eevee Into Every One Of Its Evolutions
The shiny Eevees are out in force for Pokemon GOs Eevee Community Day, giving trainers around the world a shot at that elusive prize: a full collection of all 9 Eevee family shinies. But if you want to get Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, Sylveon and Eevee, youll need to make use of a couple of tricks to make it happen. Heres how to do that. Ive published some of this info before, but it never hurts to have a refresher.
The simplest way of getting a specific evolution is to just change your Pokemons nickname. Each evolution has a nickname tied to it, and you can use that to guarantee a single evolution. So if youve already used this trick on a given account, it wont work again. So while this will likely be less useful for most, here are those:
- Flareon: Pyro
After that, most of the evolutions have an alternate, more involved method for forcing the evolution. Here are those:
- Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon:;These ones are pure RNG, so best of luck.
- Umbreon:;Walk an Eevee 10km as your buddy, then evolve it at night while its still your buddy. Update: this requires no walking distance during community day, just equip as your buddy at night and evolve.

How To Play With And Feed Your Buddy In Pokmon Go
Let’s start with the basics. To play with your Buddy in Pokémon Go, make sure you’re first Trainer Level 2 and have a Buddy assigned, then tap the Buddy icon in the lower left corner of the screen, next to your Trainer Profile.
Next, press the Play! button. Your phone camera will then activate. If you are in AR mode, you must find a flat surface. Point towards it until yellow footprints appear, then tap.
If it then says you are too close to your Buddy, back away a step or two, and it should appear.
If you’re struggling, remember you can disable AR mode in the Settings, so the Pokémon will simply appear on the screen.
With the Pokémon visible, you can play by rubbing it. You can also feed it by tapping the Berry icon.
Unlike during the catch phase where berries are simply tapped, on the Buddy screen they must be thrown like a Poké Ball to your Buddy’s mouth. You don’t lose your Berry if you miss however, so keep trying!
Once they are fully fed, they will join you on an Adventure, where they can start earning Hearts for that day…

There are a few caveats though, which well go into the final details of later in our Pokémon Go Eevee evolution guide. Ultimately, to answer your potential question, yes, there is a reliable method of getting Eevee to evolve into Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon,;or Sylveon and it works every single time.

How To Evolve Eevee Into Espeon And Umbreon
Espeon and Umbreon do have a secondary means of securing their evolutions, though it takes a little more effort than a simple name change or purchasing a Lure Module.;
This method is probably the most involved of all but if your heart is set then itll be worth it. For these Generation 2 evolutions, you have to set your Eevee as your buddy and have it walk with you for 10km in order to earn two candies .;
Once thats done, you can evolve your Eevee, but the time of day shown in-game will determine which of the evolutions you get. Evolve Eevee during the day and youll get the Psychic-type Espeon. At night, on the other hand, youll get the Dark-type Umbreon.;
This trick can be somewhat finicky, so do make sure that Eevee is still your buddy when you evolve it and ensure that you have GPS signal so that the game has the time of day absolutely right where you are. Fortunately, this isnt limited like the nicknames so you can do it as often as you like .;

How To Evolve Into Espeon And Umbreon
The first time you want to get your hands on Espeon and Umbreon, you can use the name trick detailed above. Evolve an Eeevee called Tamao to get an Umbreon, or an Eevee named Sakura to evolve it into Espeon. After that, you’ll need to evolve them the old-fashioned way, by completing certain goals.
For Espeon and Umbreon, you can also evolve into them based on their in-game method of evolution in Pokemon Gold and Silver back on the Game Boy – based on the time of day. In order to do this, you’ll first need to build a relationship with your Eevee. Set them as your buddy Pokemon and walk with them as much as you can.
Once you’ve walked 10km with that Eevee as your buddy Pokemon, it’s ready to evolve into either Epseon or Umbreon. Just evolve in the day for Espeon and night for Umbreon – and this isn’t limited, you can do it as often as you like!
More Eevee Evolution Tips And Tricks
At this point, you should be well-equipped to evolve your Eevee. But there are a few things that you should take note of:
- Make sure you use your best Eevee . You can check the IVs using third-party apps or you can appraise the Pokémon in the app itself. We recommend only evolving three-star Pokémon, but sometimes even a two-star Eevee can turn into a powerful gym defender, especially if you evolve it into Vaporeon which has a naturally high CP.
- Patient players may want to wait until theyre higher level so they can obtain stronger Eevee with higher CP to evolve. That way you spend less time, candy, and stardust making your evolutions powerful.
These are our tips and tricks on how to get all Eevee evolutions in Pokémon Go. Which one is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!

Pokmon Go Eevee Evolutions Ranked
As Eevee is the star of the , its time to plan what evolutions you want for your killer collection. But all Eevee evolutions are not created equal.
Each of Eevees eight evolutions has different stats and weaknesses. Knowing these will help you choose what to keep from your mega Community Day haul.
All eight ‘Eeveelutions’ are now available in Pokémon GO: Sylveon, Umbreon, Espeon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafeon and Glaceon.
In the “classic” Pokémon games, this particular monster is able to evolve into different types depending on what special items you have, its happiness level, the moves it has unlocked and the time of day. Thankfully you don’t have to jump through those kinds of hoops in Pokémon GO.
Instead, you can simply rename your Eevee to one of eight different names to guarantee a particular evolution, or employ some other tricks to get your desired Eevee evolution. There are a few caveats, but these methods definitely work.
Pichu Event Costumes In Pokmon Go
There is a good selection of costumed Pichus for you to collect in Pokémon Go.
Costumed Pichu can only be found in eggs that are collected during the event period they’re connected to. This means that, if you hold onto one of these eggs, it’s possible that you might hatch a Pichu outside of an event.
Typically Pichu can be found in 7km, but it’s always a good idea to check the specifics of the event just in case they’re appearing in additional egg pools. This will make your task of tracking down that special Pichu a lot easier.
