What Are The Best Counters For Yveltal In Pokmon Go
As a Dark and Flying type, Yveltal is capable of dealing Dark, Flying, Fighting, Psychic, and Normal type damage. Its four weaknesses, Rock, Electric, Ice, and Fairy leave a number of potential strategies for players however, with Mega Manectric or even Mega Ampharos, Electric is the best option for countering. Even without the use of Mega Evolution, Electric types make up the bulk of the recommended counters. Although Mega Abomasnow doesnt perform nearly as well as Mega Manectric, it does provide a solid option for an Ice based offensive, as well.

Is Xerneas Good In Pokemon Go
For as much potential Xerneas has, the simple answer is no.
Despite having a great max CP and a perfect type for the Master League, Xerneas moveset lets it down massively.
It cant even crack the 400 top Pokemon in the Ultra League according to PVPoke and comes in at a lowly 134th place in the Master League, once powered up with XL Candies to level 50. It does still manage to beat Yveltal and Palkia though.
The only reason that its worth raiding now is to stock up on Candies in anticipation that it might get a reworked movepool but if youre not too bothered, its a dex filler and nothing more.
Its current best moveset is:
- Tackle Fast Move

The Best Pokmon Counters To Yveltal
Some of the best Pokémon you can use against it include Zekrom, Rhyperior, and Togekiss.
Zekrom is a Dragon and Electric-type Pokémon. Besides Therian Thundurus, its one of the best Electric-type Pokémon to use in the Master League or raids. Zekrom can shut down Yveltal pretty hard given its array of Electric-type attacks. The best moveset for Zekrom to use against Yvetal will be charge beam for its fast move, followed by wild charge and outrage.
The next choice is Rhyperior, a Ground and Rock-type Pokémon. While this is a Ground-type Pokémon, Rhyperior being a Rock-type makes up for it. Rhyperior has quite a bit of defense to withstand Yvetals attacks. The bad thing that Yvetals charge move, focus blast, is super effective against Rhyperior, and that can lead to some problems. The best moveset Rhyperior can use against Yvetal will the fast move smack down, followed by rock wrecker and stone edge for its charged moves.
The last choice we want to bring up is Togekiss, a Fairy and Flying-type Pokémon. Togekiss is always the ideal choice in the Master League and Master League Classic to defeat many Dragon-type Pokémon and some of the more niche choices. Yveltal now fits that category, and you want to use a Togekiss in your team to counter it both in PvP and when battling it in raids. The best moveset Togekiss can be charm for its fast move, followed by ancient power and flamethrower.
- Thundurus Incarnate
Best Yveltal Counters In Pokmon Go
The best Yveltal counters in Pokémon GO are Fairy, Electric, Ice, and Rock-type Pokémon. Rock-types are weak if Yveltal is carrying Focus Blast, however, so Electric-types are safest. As such, were building a party of Togekiss, Thundurus, Zekrom, and Mega Manectric to take on the Dark and Flying-type legendary.
Youll want to try to get an Yveltal with 100% IVs for taking down raid bosses and tackling the Master League alike. In raids, keep an eye out for 2,160 CP Yveltal as it will have maxed out stats. If its windy or foggy weather in-game, however, Yveltal will benefit from weather boost, and you need to keep your eyes peeled for 2,701 CP.
You should only need three trainers to take down Yveltal.

Xerneas Types: Advantages And Disadvantages
From Gen I to Gen V, there are only 17 Pokemon types available. When Kalos region was introduced in “Pokemon X and Y’ in 2013, the Fairy type entered the scene.
Along with Zygarde and Yveltal, Xerneas also came as the new legendary Pokemon. It belongs to the Fairy class. Since this is a new type, some of the players have no idea about this.
Basically, a Fairy-type Pokemon is strong against Dragon, Bug, Dark, and Fighting-type Pokemon that’s why many called this type the “Dragon Slayer.” However, it is weak against Steel and Poison-type Pokemon.
GameSpot recommends the following Pokemon to defeat Xerneas:
Xerneas‘ type is unique since it belongs to the first batch of fairy mons. The downside that players could experience when using this Y-Shaped stag is its low stats which does not suit its legendary classification.
In PVP, the maximum CP that you can get for Xerneas is 3,781 which consists of 209 in attack, 206 in stamina, and 158 in defense. When fighting against Team Rocket or during PVE raids, it possesses 250 attack, 246 stamina, and 185 defense which are all fine for a stat line.
However, “Pokemon GO” has nerfed Xerneas upon its entrance to the game. What’s worse is its declining stats which makes it more unusable to certain missions.
Alternative Moveset For Yveltal

Yveltal And Its Place In The Meta
Yveltal will be taking over Raids in Pokemon GO from May 18th until June 1st. While Xerneas wasnt all too impressive with Tackle and Zen Headbutt, Yveltal is debuting with some actually useful moves. This has trainers wondering just how good Yveltal is going to be in both Raids and PvP. The article below details the best counters to the Yveltal Raid and highlights its use in both the Raid and PvP Metas.
Best Yveltal Raid Counters
Choosing the best raid counters for taking on Yveltal will be the difference between victory and defeat. The Yveltal raid counters listed in this guide are from a Pokebattler simulation with level 35 mons and no attack boosts of any kind. Mega and Shadow Pokemon will be listed separately since theyre currently quite costly and difficult to obtain.
- Mega Manectric
- Weather Boost: RainyMega Manectric is the best Electric-type Mega Pokemon to use in the Yveltal raid. Its the second-best Yveltal raid counter behind Zekrom . And itll give a boost to all Electric-type attacks, one of Yveltals biggest weaknesses.
- Mega Ampharos
- Weather Boost: RainyMega Ampharos is much bulkier than Mega Manectric, but it cant deal as much damage. Depending upon what your raiding party needs, a Mega Ampharos may be a better choice. If you just want a Pokemon that will buff your teammates and take a few hits, then this is the way to go.

Heres how to catch Yveltal in Pokémon GO
Weve had our fun with Xerneas, and now its time for its darker counterpart to join the fray. Yes, the next legendary Pokémon to join the ranks of Pokémon GO, Yveltal, is a big one. While we prefer Xerneas tree-inspired design, Yveltal is clearly the better option in Pokémon GO, based on its typing, the meta, and the sheer number of Psychic-type legendary Pokémon.
While Xerneas can handle the dragons without breaking a sweat, Yveltal matches up well with the likes of Mewtwo which seems to always be rotating back into raids and Giratina, which is a mainstay in the Master League. Is Yveltal one of the best Pokémon in Pokémon GO? Its hard to say for sure, but its certainly a nice anti-meta pick.

Everything We Know About Yveltal
Alongside Xerneas and Zygarde, Yveltal is a member of the Aura Trio who make their home in the Kalos region.
Being the counterpart of Xerneas, Yveltal is a representative of death – stealing away life energy rather than giving it. When Yveltal’s own lifespan reaches its end, this legendary Pokémon uses its wing to steal all of the life energy from the land around it before going to sleep in a cocoon for a thousand years.
While Yveltal sleeps, Xerneas plays their part in the cycle, bringing life to the world, and, if this cycle is ever disturbed, then Zygarde comes forth.
Considering it’s status as a literal death bird god, it’s possible that Yveltal, and in turn the Aura Trio itself, has taken some inspiration from the Morrigan from Celtic mythology.
The Morrigan is a shape-shifting goddess associated with war and fate. She was often depicted as a crow, flying across the battlefield, deciding which warriors should live and which should die. The Morrigan is also considered to be a triple goddess and sometimes appears as a trinity alongside her sisters Badb and Macha.

Pokemon Go Yveltal: Best Moveset For Pvp
Yveltal luckily has some better moves than Xerneas
Pokemon GO players can begin defeating and catching Yveltal soon, and that means a new Legendary Pokemon may find its way into PVP battles.
Yveltal is a dual-type Dark and Flying Pokemon which certainly gives it an enticing combo among PVP players. One of the largest benefits that Yveltal has is the neutral damage it receives from Fighting-type attacks. Fighting-type Pokemon are typically the bane of Dark-type Pokemon, and it’s why a Pokemon like Scraggy is successful.
When choosing the Fast Attack on Yveltal in Pokemon GO, Snarl is the best option of the three available fast attacks. Gust technically does more damage, but it’s not necessarily worth it due to the energy per second gained compared to Snarl. The best of both damage and EPS is possible with Snarl.
For the Charge Attack, the priority move should be Dark Pulse. It has a decent damage output, but more importantly, it’s a fantastic shield burner. Without it, Yveltal will take a while to use charge attacks in Pokemon GO.
Players can choose Hurricane as a great secondary Charge Attack. The move utilizes the Flying-type on Yveltal, and it provides massive damage. It won’t charge as fast as Dark Pulse, but it provides a second option.

When a new legendary arrives in Pokémon Go, every player has a good reason to be eagerly anticipating its release. The legendary Pokémon are always rare to acquire, and when you do add them to your collection, they can take a bit of time to power up and turn into an exceptional asset for your team. For players looking to acquire Yveltal, youll have a limited time to capture this Pokémon. When you do, you wont be able to capture a shiny version, but it is a good choice, and you have to first beat it in five star raids. You also want to make sure you teach it the best moveset.
Yveletal is Dark and Flying-type Pokémon. It will be weak against Electric, Fairy, Ice, and Rock-type moves, but it is resistant against Dark, Ghost, Grass, Ground, and Psychic-type attacks. Because its resistant to Ghost, Ground, and Psychic-type attacks, you can expect to use this Pokémon to counter some of the stronger meta choices in the Master League, such as Groudon, Landorus, Giratina, and Mewtwo.
These are all of the moves Yveltal can learn.
