Although you receive the Box Link early on in Pokemon Sword and Shields story like its any other item, it cant be used like one. If you head into the Key Items section of your bag and select the Pokemon Box Link, youll be told you cant access Pokemon Boxes from your bag. Since the prompt doesnt tell you where to go instead, this may leave some players scratching their heads as to where you can actually access the boxes from.

In order to use your Pokemon Boxes remotely, you first need to press X to open the main menu and head to the Pokemon tab, where youd normally go to manage the Pokemon in your party. In the lower right corner of the Pokemon menu, youll see a prompt that says To Boxes. Despite not mentioning the Box Link, this is how you use the remote box access feature enabled by the Box Link. Hit the R button, and youll be taken to the usual Pokemon Box screen. Here, you can rearrange Pokemon, swap Pokemon in and out of your party, and more.

This is done through a new item known as the PC Box Link, which is given to you as you progress through the game.

To open the PC box when you are out in a Route or the Wild Area, just follow these quick and easy steps:

What Games Can I Transfer Pokmon From

As of this writing, you can only transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Bank, Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu, and Pokémon Sword and Shield to Pokémon Home. Eventually, youll be able to transfer from Pokémon Go, but that feature is not available yet.

Note that moving Pokémon from Pokémon Bank and Pokémon Go to Pokémon Home is a one-way trip: After transferring to Pokémon Home, they cannot go back.

If you transfer Pokémon from Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu to Sword and Shield, they cant go back to their original games, either. But you can move Pokémon from Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu to Pokémon Home and then back to their original games.

How To Change Primary Party Pokemon In Pokemon Sword & Shield

To change the Primary Pokemon in your party in Pokemon Sword & Shield, there are two options for you. The first is to go into a Pokemon Center and talk to the ATM-looking machine. This machine basically allows you to put Pokemon you have into boxes for easier storage and whatnot. However, it also gives you the option to rejigger the order of Pokemon in your party, which you can see in the bar on the left. Select the Pokemon you want to move up or down, then simply drag it to the position you want to put it in. Theyre automatically gonna switch places.

Now, luckily, you wont have to go to a Pokemon Center every single time you want to restructure your party. As you progress through the game, relatively early on, Sonia is going to give you the Pokemon Box Link, which gives you remote access to the boxes. Once you have that, simply go into the menu by pressing X. Then, select Pokemon. Once you can see your party, use the Swap Pokemon option to rearrange your party however you see fit. Of course, you can also take other Pokemon out of the boxes and stuff, but thats a different matter.

How To Transfer Pokmon To Pokmon Home

4. Once done, you should then be returned to the Pokémon HOME settings screen in Pokémon GO where the SIGN IN button has been replaced by a SEND POKÉMON button.

5. Tap this and youll see a message about using the GO Transporter to send Pokémon, and that the amount of energy required depends upon the Pokémon.

The energy bar is full, so theres nothing to worry about for now.

6. Just choose a Pokémon to send, bearing in mind its a one-way transfer. So pick something you would transfer to the professor, not something you’d want to keep.

NOTE : Pokémon transferred to Pokémon HOME cannot be returned to Pokémon GO.

7.You can select multiple Pokémon, but one is enough to get a Mystery Box. Tap the TRANSPORT button and when the transfer is finished youll be told the Mystery Box is available.

This means no chatting, no pokemon, ever! There are also anti-spam features that limit how often one person can spawn a pokemon: one person spamming over and over still wont spawn Pokemon. The best way to spawn pokemon is a lot of people having a real conversation and talking back and forth! Yes, thats what PokeCord was originally designed to encourage!

Only real, generally back-and-forth chatting generates Pokemon! Spamming the chat with repeated lines from one person will not reliably generate pokemon, nor is there a spawn command or anything of the sort! Most people forget, but Pokecord was designed to encourage chatting on a Discord server. If youre sitting silently waiting for Pokemon you are playing Pokecord clones wrong. Say hi in a general chat channel and make a dialog to get Pokemon spawning.

The one exception is if you buy incense, which spawns a pokemon every 20 seconds for an hour.

If you just want to force Pokemon to appear, you want to play PokeMeow or Myuu instead. There is to my knowledge no bot that just constantly spawns pokemon with 0 input like some people seem to want. Also note PokeTwos spawn rate seems to have been massively nerfed.

Pokemon Go Mystery Box Explained

It used to be the case that you needed to own Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee to get the Mystery Box, but thanks to the introduction of Pokemon Home, you can get a Mystery Box and have a chance at shiny Meltan without forking out for a Nintendo Switch.

To begin with you need to link your Pokemon Go account to Pokemon Home, so on the same device you use for Pokemon Go, download Pokemon Home from your respective app store. Set everything up then switch to Pokemon Go.

Tap the Poke Ball icon to bring up the menu, go into the settings by tapping the cog in the top right corner, then scroll right to the bottom and tap on Pokemon Home. Sign in with your Nintendo Account and the pair will be linked.

Now to get the Mystery Box, you simply need to transfer a Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home. While in the Pokemon Home section of Pokemon Go, tap Send Pokemon and pick one of your least important critters that you don’t mind getting rid of.

When complete and you’ve received the Pokemon in Pokemon Home, you’ll get the Pokemon Go Mystery Box! That’s all there is to it in order to receive the Mystery Box. Open it in your bag to cause Meltans to spawn frequently for 30 minutes, but to then use the Mystery Box again, you have to wait seven days and repeat the process of transferring a Pokemon. As with a lot of Pokemon in the game, there is simply a slim chance that one of the Meltan you catch will be shiny.
