Pokemon That Give Attack Evs

Resetting A Pokmons Evs

EV Training Sword and Shield Guide – Learn How to Ev Train Special Attack

Although the EV reducing berries described in the main EV Training guide can be used to lower Pokémons EVs, the problem is these are not easy to farm. They can only be shaken from trees that respawn every day, and theres no guarantee of how many youll get. Youll need over 50 berries to completely reset a fully EV Trained Pokémons EVs.

Thankfully, the Isle of Armor from the Expansion Pass has a fix for it, although it is a little pricey.

Theres a man on one of the small islands off the southeastern coast of the Isle of Armor that will fully reset a Pokémons EVs to 0 for the cost of 10 Armorite Ore. This can be an effective way to make sure your Pokémon has a clean set of EVs, especially if it was a Pokémon you took with you throughout your journey through the Galar region, where you werent keeping track of what EVs it gained. You can earn Armorite Ore by fighting in Max Raid Battles on the Isle of Armor.

How To See Effort Values

Effort Values can be seen by using the “Effort-O-Meter” which displays the amount of Effort Values invested in a graph, allowing it to visualize the progress. All players can see this “Effort-O-Meter” by clicking the hexagon in the middle of Pokémon Summary interface, without paying anything. However, it does not show the specific number of EVs invested for their Pokémon, making it a problem to track how much EVs the players’ Pokémon need without calculations.

For more competitive players who have sufficient Robux on hand, they can purchase the Advanced Stat Viewer Gamepass for 50 Robux, which allows them to see the number of EVs they have invested in all stats. In addition, it also displays the number of Individual Values a Pokémon has, which is another important aspect of competitive Pokémon battling.

The current maximum amount of Effort Values invested into a single stat is 252, and the maximum amount of Effort Values a Pokémon can receive overall is 510, which means only 2 stats out of all 6 can be maximized.

Pokmon Sun And Moon Ev Training

There are four main multipliers you can apply to your Pokémon to speed up EV training: Power Items, the Pokérus, and a Chain Bonus for Pokémon called in an SOS battle.

Power Items list

+8 Speed EVs per Pokémon defeated 16BP from Battle Tree shop

The Power Items, above, are held items you can give your Pokémon to increase the EVs they gain from battle. Note that these give a specific stat EVs regardless of the Pokémon defeated. So if you defeat a Zubat with a Pokémon holding a Power Weight, it’ll get +1 Speed EV and +8 HP EVs, too.

Pokérus

The Pokérus is a special virus that your Pokémon can catch – but whilst virsuses sound pretty nasty, it’s actually hugely beneficial. It’s acquired at random, from battling other Pokémon, and indicated with a small pink symbol on your Pokémon’s summary page. The big benefit is that it doubles all EVs gained each time you earn Experience. Defeat a Zubat with a Pokémon that has the Pokérus and it’ll earn 2 Speed EVs. Make that Pokémon hold the Power Anklet too, and that’s +18 Speed EVs .

Chaining SOS Battles

SOS Battles are a new addition to Sun and Moon. After the mechanic becomes available , when you get a wild Pokémon down to low enough health, there’s a chance it will call for help in the form of another Pokémon, and a roughly 50/50 chance that help will arrive.

With all of the above multipliers included, you can max out a Pokémon’s EVs by defeating just seven Pokémon in a chain. Here’s the formula to show it:

  • HP: Skwovet Wobuffet
  • Att: Scraggy, Machop, Pancham, Mudbray Machoke, Solrock
  • Def: Rolycoly, Pumpkaboo, Wooloo Carkol

Finally, you can also just hunt around in the field to find Pokémon with your desired EVs. Some locations and Pokémon are provided below, with help from PhillyBeatzU.

  • HP: Bidoof, 1 HP EV. Can be found on Route 201 in abundance.
  • Attack: Bibarel, Machoke, 2 Attack EVs. Can be found on Route 210 in foggy areas.
  • Defense: Geodude, Hippopotas, 1 Defense EV. They are the only spawns in the Ruin Maniac Cave.
  • Special Attack: Gastly, 1 Sp. Attack EV. Can be found in the Old Chateau at 100% encounter rate.
  • Sp. Defense: Tentacruel, 2 Sp. Defense EVs. Can be found on Route 223 by surfing.
  • Speed: Starly, 1 Speed EV. Can be found in 201 in abundance.

Although these Pokémon have low EV yields, these are locations in which they are very common and can be easily encountered in succession. By using a held Power item, you will receive that Pokémons EV value + 9, so each of the above Pokémon would be 9-10 EVs per battle. For example, if a Pokémon is holding a Power Weight, it will receive 9 HP EVs per battle with a Bidoof. In 28 Bidoof battles, it will fully max out its HP EVs.

Pokemon Bdsp Ev Training Guide

Trainers can utilize EV Training in Pokemon BDSP to boost their Pokemons stats. In this guide, we will be taking an in-depth look at EV Training in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. You will learn what EVs are, how the mechanic works, the best locations for EV training, and how to Reset EVs.

How To Earn Evs

Pokemon Black and White EV Training Hot-Spots: Attack

If you’ve played through any part of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, you’ve already earned EVs for a Pokémon. Good job! Now you can learn how to specifically earn EVs in the stats you want to boost.

Every time you defeat a Pokémon in battle, your entire party will earn some amount of EVs. Which EVs they earn and how many depend on the Pokémon you defeat. Pokémon can yield between 0-3 EVs when beaten in battle.

Usually, the EV yields of a Pokémon make sense. Pokémon that have high attack often let you earn attack EVs. That’s not always the case, however.

The following chart are some suggested Pokémon to battle to earn certain EVs. These aren’t your only options, but they’re all easy to find. Many of these Pokémon are found in several locations, so we listed one or two per entry.

Stat
Power Anklet Speed

All of the above power items can be purchased for 16 Battle Points each in the Battle Park, a place you can access in the post-game.

The Macho Brace also boosts EVs received, but in a different way. The Macho Brace doubles the amount of EVs received after each battle. You can find the Macho Brace in Pastoria City in the house north of the Poké Mart.

TLDR: Power items can significantly boost the amount of EVs you earn after each battle.

How To Remove Evs

It is not uncommon to want to remove EVs, especially if you have been using a Pokémon in your team without a thought to competitive battling. You remove already-gained EVs by using specific berries. The first berry eaten will lower the gained EVs to 100, while subsequent berries will lower by 10 EVs per berry. Youll need a maximum of 11 berries for stats that have full EVs.

  • Pomeg Berry: Removes HP EVs
  • Kelpsy Berry: Removes Attack EVs
  • Qualot Berry: Removes Defense EVs
  • Hondew Berry: Removes Sp. Attack EVs
  • Grepa Berry: Removes Sp. Defense EVs
  • Tamato berry: Removes Speed EVs

You can check that all EVs have been removed by going back to your Pokémons stats page in their summary and using the X button to check that the dark yellow has become a small hexagon.

Why Should I Ev Train

So youve now learned that Pokémon gain EVs after fighting against Pokémon and that there are EVs for each of the six stats, but what do these EVs actually do?

Effort Values raise your Pokémons stats. The amount that it raises a given stat by is based on your Pokémons level, but for a level 100 Pokémon, it will receive +1 point in a stat for every 4 EVs it has in that stat, rounded down. Just to be clear, since this misconception comes up a lot: that doesnt mean as soon as your Pokémon reaches level 100 it gains all of those extra points at once the gains from Effort Values affect a Pokémons stats at every single level, proportionately.

Lets take a level 100 Garchomp, for example. If this Garchomp has 0 EVs in Attack and has a neutral nature, then its maximum Attack stat would be 296. If this Garchomp instead has 255 EVs, it would have 63 points higher in Attack than one with 0 EVs, meaning it would have a much more fearsome 359 Attack. If it has a nature that raises its Attack by 10%, such as Adamant, it could reach as high as 394 Attack .

That means, instead of going with 255 EVs in two separate stats, you could instead put 252 EVs in two stats and then the remaining 6 EVs in a third stat . You squeeze one extra stat point that you wouldnt have otherwise gotten, which may make a difference in a close battle.

Battle The Right Pokmon

Now that you have your Power Items, youre all set to EV train. Below are the six Pokémon that you want to defeat and where they frequently spawn:

  • Bidoof in Route 201
  • Machop , Machoke and Bibarel in Route 210
  • Geodude and Hippopotas in the Ruin Manic Tunnel along Route 214
  • Gastly in the Old Chateau inside Eterna Forest
  • Tentacruel in Route 223, North of Sunyshore City
  • Starly in Route 201

All Pokémon with no EV points indicated give one EV point.

And thats all you need to know! Between Vitamins and Pokémon battling, theres no one right method to EV train. The first method is faster but expensive, and the second method is slower but will barely cost you anything. Train your Pokémon however you like!

Ev Training Hotspots In Pokmon Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon

Pokemon Sword and Shield

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are here, and the best places to EV train have slightly changed. If youre familiar with EV training from Pokémon Sun and Moon, youll feel right at home.

Basic Information

  • A Pokémon can have a maximum of 252 EVs in one particular stat. This is different from the 255 cap present in Generations III-V, and it means you wont accidentally EV train over 252 in any particular stat.
  • A Pokémon can only have 510 EVs total. This means if you train a Pokémon to have 252 EVs in two stats, you still have 6 EVs left over to put in another stat.
  • Each Pokémon, when defeated in-game, gives out a certain number of EVs, usually ranging from 1-3. For example, if you defeat a Wingull, your Pokémon gains 1 Speed EV, and if you defeat a Gyarados, your Pokémon gains 2 Attack EVs. A full list of EV yields for each Pokémon can be found here.
  • If the Exp. Share is turned on, all Pokémon in your party gain EVs from defeating Pokémon. This allows you to battle with a higher leveled Pokémon to EV train your freshly hatched Pokémon. You can even EV train multiple Pokémon at the same time!

    Boost With Held Items

Gaining EVs in battle is a lot easier with special held items. The Macho Brace doubles the amount of EV points you gain from battle. However, other items can make EV Training even easier. These held items will add four additional EV points to a specific stat after winning a battle or defeating a wild Pokemon. These items and the stats they increase are:

    Speed

So, if a Pokemon holding a Power Weight defeats a Pokemon that would grant three EV points for HP, they will gain seven HP EV points at the end of the battle. If that same Pokemon with the Power Weight defeats a Pokemon that would grant three EV points for Attack, they would gain three EV points in Attack and four EV points in HP.

Unfortunately, you will not gain four extra EV points per Pokemon you defeat, but only four extra EV points per battle.

    Ev Training From Battles

The traditional way of EV Training a Pokemon is by battling other Pokemon. It’s free and relatively straightforward, given the right strategy.

Depending on the species, a Pokemon can give you between 1-3 EVs to a particular stat. Your best option is to find Pokemon that will provide consistent EVs to only one stat at a time, in locations where they often spawnallowing you to focus train your Pokemon.

    How To Ev Train

Pokemon B/W2 – EV Training: Special Attack – Celestial Tower

In order to properly EV Train, you should first plan out your EV Spread for the Pokémon youre trying to train. You have 510 points to work with, so determining how to distribute them the EV Spread should be your first priority before starting.

If youre new to EV Training, youll probably find the most benefit from sticking to simple 252/252/6 spreads that means 252 EVs in one stat, 252 in another, and then 6 in the final stat, which is usually HP.

Some good starter 252/252/6 spreads are:

    • 252 Attack / 252 Speed / 6 HP for Physical-based sweepers such as Garchomp.
    • 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed / 6 HP for Special-based sweepers such as Gengar.
    • 252 HP / 252 Defense / 6 Speed or Special Defense for Physical walls like Forretress.
    • 252 HP / 252 Special Defense / 6 Speed or Defense for Special walls like Umbreon.

As you learn more about EV Training and the dynamics of your competitive team, youll experiment with more varied spreads, but these four examples should give you an introduction to how EV Spreads work.

Once youve determined which EV Spread you want to use for your Pokémon, you need to figure out which Pokémon you can repeatedly fight give you only the EVs you need. Its easiest to focus on one stat at a time while EV Training, although as you get more advanced in your knowledge of EV Training, you might be able to figure out ways to train up the stats you need in a more optimal manner.

How To Reset Evs In Pokmon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

If youre just finding out about EVs now and would like to optimize their allocation, then good news: EVs can be reset. You just need six particular berries:

    • Pomeg Berry
    • Hondew Berry
    • Grepa Berry
    • Tamato Berry

Each of these berries will lower EVs by 10 points. However, the first berry given will lower that Pokemons EV stat to 100 regardless of its initial value. As such, you will only ever need a maximum of 11 berries to lower every stats EV to zero.

You can purchase these berries from the Battle Park for one BP each. Of course, you can also plant them.

Each tree can bear a maximum of five berries with time. It will always yield two berries after the first cycle and one every succeeding cycle. Each of the six berries growth cycle is 32 hours. You can water the trees to make them bear more berries or even mess with your Nintendo Switchs date and time to speed up their growth.
