There are a couple a key ways to tell a Shadowless version versus an un-limited version Charizard. The most obvious way to tell is if your card is shadowless is if the bottom of the card says 1995, 96, 98, 99 Nintendo Creatures If the card has the year 99 at the bottom, then it is shadowless. Unlimited Cards say only 1995, 96, 98.
Shadowless cards have a lighter background than unlimited cards. They also lack the dark shadow that can be found to the right of the picture on unlimited cards, said Holder.
Shadowless versions of Charizards are very hard to find, and its essential to have this version graded which has paid off huge for collectors.
With increased interest in Pokémon collectibles, grading has seen a spike in submissions. Collectors are now interested in obtaining high grade versions of cards, as the market has shown substantial growth since 2016, says Holder.

Most people believe its more difficult to achieve a Beckett Pristine Grade vs a PSA Gem-Mint 10 grade. Therefore Beckett 10s can sometimes sell for more than their PSA 10 counterparts. Charizard here is a perfect example of that. This Pristine 10 Charizard sold for $55,000 in 2017. In the last 3 months, weve seen four PSA 10 Charizards sell for an average of $20,000.
There are currently 115 1st Ed., PSA-10 Charizards in circulation. I believe there are only 2 Beckett Pristine 10s. But dont let this fool you. Pokemon collectors submit way more cards to PSA for grading. I think Magic: the Gathering players prefer Beckett, while Pokemon players prefer PSA. A total of 181 1st Edition Charizards were submitted to Beckett for grading, while 1,599 1st Edition Charizards were sent to PSA.

During Sunday’s fight with Floyd Mayweather, Paul wore a BGS 10 1st Edition Charizard card around his neck when entering the ring, and then at the press conference after. While the card is extremely valuable, Paul estimated that its value might now be worth a cool million following the fight. It’s impossible to say for sure whether or not its presence at the fight might result in some increased value, but it’s entirely possible that could be the case!

It’s unclear exactly when Logan Paul came into possession of this particular Charizard card, but it’s not to be confused with the card he purchased from “Pawn Stars Gary” last October. In that video, Gary stated that he had once turned down an offer for a house valued at $400,000 for the card.
