Pokemon First Edition Raichu

Huge Pokemon Card Sale! Gold stars, Crystals, PSA! CHEAP!

Sold in March, 2021 for $17,100

As Pokemon skyrocketed in popularity over the years, one character became almost synonymous with the franchise as its de facto mascot.

Much of Pikachu’s popularity originates from the first episode of the Pokemon anime series entitled “Pokemon – I Choose You!” when the main protagonist of the series, Ash Ketchum, a trainer, receives Pikachu as his Pokemon from Professor Oak.

However, when exposed to a Thunderstone, the lovable, yellow, furry, rodent-like creature evolves into the final form of Raichu.

Raichu looks quite similar to Pikachu, but with a few distinct characteristics, namely its tail, ears, and dark coloration of the tip of its paws.

Crystal Charizard Holo Skyridge

  • Release Date: 2003
  • Grading: PSA Gem Mint 10
  • Pokemon card value at auction: $25,100

In 2003, interest in Pokemon cards had started to wane among core fans who had been collecting since it launched in 1999. As a result, production of the Skyridge set was considerably lower compared to past expansions.

This would also be the last release printed by Wizards of the Coasts and features the iconic e-reader designs meant to be a tie-in for the Game Boy Advance. Its low production has made the retro set one of the most expensive Pokemon cards products to hunt down from the era.

The crown jewel of the expansion is none other than Charizard. Its rare Crystal Holo design variant was extremely limited even at release. In November 2020, a perfectly graded version of the collectible sold for $25,100 at auction.

Pokemon Play Third Season Promo 70000 Points Holo Umbreon Gold Star

Sold in June, 2021 for $70,000

From 2003 to 2006, PLAY Promotional Cards allowed Pokemon Players Club members to obtain exclusive cards by earning experience points when completing various tasks.

For example, if a player started a battle, won a battle, placed in a tournament, he or she would accumulate points that could earn certain prize cards.

The five Gold Star cards are the most difficult to obtain because of their high EXP thresholds, with the Umbreon being the hardest with its 70,000 point requirement.

Tropical Mega Battle No 2 Trainer

  • Release Date: 1999
  • Grading: PSA Authentic
  • Pokemon card value at auction: $50,300

Interestingly, this is the first Pokemon card in the top 20 that is so poor quality-wise, it didnt even receive a grade. In situations like this, PSA will still give it an official Authentication. Dont let the grading fool you, though, as the Tropical No. 2 Trainer card is pristine except the back which has color loss and fading due to the sun.

Given out originally at the 1999 Mega Battle tournament in Japan, only the top players received this Pokemon card. In total, PSA has only seen five of these, making it one of the rarest Pokemon cards in existence. Its so scarce that its still worth a jaw-dropping amount despite its quality setbacks think about that.

According to PWCC, one of these green Exeggutor prizes was sold at an auction in October 2020 for $50,300. Its fascinating to think that even a damaged card can sell for as much as a sports car. And this Pokemon cards value will only continue to climb given that they just dont exist.

Pokemon World Championship Masters Key

Pokemon card flareon gold star for Sale in Woodinville, WA
  • Release Date: 2010
  • Grading: BGS 9
  • Pokemon card value at auction: $26,900

In 2010, the best pokemon cards players around the world were flown into Waikoloa Village, Hawaii for the World Championships. Upon arrival, contestants were given a Master Keys Pokemon card.

Because the item was only printed for participants at the tournament, only 36 of these in total were ever created, making it technically one of the most rare Pokemon cards to ever exist in the hobbys nearly 25-year history.

Despite only being intended for those at the event, one of these made there way out to the public and was sold for an astonishing $26,900 in August 2020. A pretty sweet reward to receive 11 years later.

Southern Islands Reverse Holo Mew: $200

When the second Pokemon movie was released in Japan, the makers of the Trading Card Game decided to release a special edition set of cards to mark this occasion. The Southern Islands card series was born, featuring just two sets of nine cards apiece that were unique to any other set in the game.

Full sets of these cards can sell for a lot, but the absolute highest value is undoubtedly the Southern Islands Mew, which has a rare reverse foil treatment where the frame around the art is the only part thats shiny. Troll and Toad is currently selling copies for just over $200 right now, making it even more valuable than the elusive and stylish Ancient Mew mentioned earlier.

Holo Gold Star Rayquaza: $4500

Rather than many cards on this list, this Shiny Rayquaza from the EX Deoxys set is a rare Pokemon card thats mostly just mythical pull from a standard set. During this expansion, Pokemon with a Gold Star in your deck, making them just as powerful as they are gorgeous with unique colors and art exiting the frame.

Costs can vary massively, but spaces like Troll and Toad price the card at just under $4500. It simply combines all the great aspects of a standard card in the perfect combination, and the rarity of it in packs of this small expansion set make it one of the most valuable original Gen 3 cards, and one of the first major shiny cards to hit record prices before other shinies would catch up.

Pokemon Spanish First Edition Charizard

Sold in October, 2020 for $35,100

To help promote the Pokemon Trading Card Game throughout the world, Wizards of the Coast printed the base set in several different languages.

The Spanish version offered native Spanish speakers throughout Europe and Latin America a much more enjoyable way to play their favorite card game.

You can see the Spanish translation throughout this card, but the Spanish version does leave the name “Charizard” as-is.

Other versions, such as the French and German, presented the Charizard character with a unique name altogether.

To verify the card is indeed a First Edition, look to the lower-left of the character box and you will find the “Edicion 1” symbol.

Just seven examples of this card have achieved a PSA 10 grade, making it one of the toughest multi-language First Edition Charizards to find in that condition.

Not Worth Much: Pikachu Furious Fists

It’s always great to frolic in the flowers, and Pikachu seems to be enjoying itself. You’ll note, however, that Pikachu is pacifistic, resorting to a bland Thunder Shock if any conflict arises. Not very furious at all.

This card is sometimes sold for as low as $0.50. That is absolutely nothing compared to our other Pikachus.

Pokemon Pop Series 5 Gold Star Espeon

Sold in February, 2021 for $22,100

Like its Umbreon counterpart that we covered a little bit ago, the 2007 POP Series 5 Gold Star Espeon is one of the two most-desired cards in the 17-card promotional set.

The Gold Star symbol next to the character’s name in the upper-left side of the card denotes the increased rarity of the card.

Masakazu Fukuda mixed an intense color scheme with a striking outline of Espeon to deliver a fantastic card with tremendous eye appeal.

Venusaur No Rarity Symbol Base Set

  • Release Date: 1996
  • Grading: PSA Gem Mint 10
  • Pokemon card value at auction: $55,000

While the English version of the TCG Base Set had the coveted 1st Edition stamped cards, the original run of the 1996 Japanese release simply had no symbol at all. Called No Rarity, the scarce artificats are truly the first Pokemon cards to ever be made.

A Venusaur from this original batch went up for sale at PWCC Auctions on November 18th, 2021, and sold for a jaw-dropping $55,000 a record for the beloved Kanto starter Pokemon. According to PSA, the grade 10 collectible is only one of 5 to exist in the entire world.

As if this collectors item wasnt special enough, the casing on the outside was also autographed by the cards original artist Mitsuhiro Arita. This is truly a one-of-a-kind artifact that any Venusaur fan would die to have in their collection.

Torchic Gold Star Holo Team Rocket Returns

Gold star charizard pokemon card for Sale in Fresno, CA
  • Release Date: 2004
  • Grading: PSA Gem Mint 10
  • Pokemon card value at auction: $25,400

In 2004, TPC introduced Gold Star Pokemon cards to drum up interest in the hobby again. The new line of collectibles had a low print-run, and made their debut alongside the criminally underrated Team Rocket Returns expansion.

Due to its insane popularity, Hoenn Fire-type starter Torchic instantly became one of the most rare Pokemon cards released that year. And whats not to love about it, its easily one of the most adorable artworks to ever grace a TCG release.

The specially marked collectible went up for auction in 2020 and sold for $25,400. That is a mind-blowing amount considering the same item was selling for around $300 in 2016, making the Pokemon cards value an 8,000% increase in just four years!

As were looking at the most valuable cards were sticking with 1st Edition versions, although you wont have to worry about shadows.

His legend lives on as of 2021, even if the Pokémon only just misses out on a space in the top 10.

How Much Is 23 Karat Gold Worth March 202

  • It is worth mentioning that the gold used during the plating process is real, however, as the amount used is so little, the final gold plated jewellery doesnt hold the value of gold pieces. The purity of the gold used ranges like in case of solid gold. The highest purity used is 24K, and the lowest is 10K
  • Although they are plated with pure gold, the plating is usually less than 0.003 of an inch thick. Serious coin collectors consider these gold-plated coins as damaged coins and refused to purchase them. If you are lucky, a coin dealer may offer you between thirty cents and forty cents for the coins
  • When buying gold plated jewelry, you should consider the gold plating as nothing more than a coloring there is almost no inherent value to the gold applied. It doesnt matter if its 24K, 14K or 18K. Example of a Designer Gold Plated Bracelet with Natural Agat
  • ted quarter. Although these coins contain a thin layer of goldâusually about 0.003 inches thickâtheyre virtually impossible to resell because they have little to no melt value

Pokemon Card Sale- Jan 2014 – PSA 10s, Shining, Crystal, Gold Star, Charizard, EXs

Lt. Surge is a fearsome enemy just from his appearance alone. One of his most recognizable Pokémon is his Pikachu. The Gym Heroes set was awesome in that each Gym Leader showcased what made their creature so special. With distinct poses and a tailored move set, they are nice pieces of memorabilia.

Both the Gym Heroes and Gym Challenge cards are not expensive–on the left, $5.62 compared to on the right, $7.77.

Pokmon Base Set 1st Edition Shadowless Holo Charizard #4

Never in doubt, the original holo Charizard was always going to take the top spot when looking at the most valuable first edition cards of all time.

The prices always seem to amaze people when I show them, with the record broken again in March 2021. This time, a PSA 10 copy sold for $399,750.

Pikachu might be the mascot for the franchise, but Charizard is the card that everyone seems to want.

Its also one of the most abundant cards youll find when looking at PSA 10 grades, with a pop of 122.

If any Pokémon card is going to break the $1m mark, this will probably be it.

Who Buys Pokmon Cards These Days

Surprisingly, celebrities arent the only ones trying to become ultimate Pokémon masters. People are racing to bid on these valuable cards all over the world. If youre brand new to selling them and figuring out the correct selling price, this can seem like a daunting or overwhelming process, but before you skip it, think about the potential money you have sitting right in front of you.

Does Gold Plated Turn Green

Once the gold plating wears off and exposes the base metal, it may cause a chemical reaction that may stain your skin with a green color. Similarly, high-end pieces of jewelry may also turn your skin green if they consist of metal alloys with a significant amount of metals like copper, nickel, or silver.

Valuable: Pikachu 2005 San Diego Comic Con

Golden Charizard Custom Card (Holo, Vintage Style)

This is a sadly pathetic card. If you compare it to the base EX Emerald card, it is virtually the same. The only difference is the inclusion of the San Diego Comic Con logo. The real difference? An increase of one thousand dollars or more.

For example, if we take a look at this listing for the Comic Con version it is $16,999.99. Other listings are priced at $4,599.95 and $3,750.00 respectively. The EX Emerald card is $30. In retrospect, the sheer amount it has come to cost couldnt have been predicted, but it sure looks fishy now.

Lugia 1st Edition Neo Genesis

  • Release Date: 2000
  • Grading: BGS Pristine 10
  • Pokemon card value at auction: $144,300

Similar to Mewtwo, Lugia was an iconic Legendary for many children who grew up with the series in the 00s. So it should come as no surprise that its debut as a Pokemon card was a major hit.

While a 1st Edition Lugia broke records by selling for a mind-blowing $129,000 in 2020, a Beckett graded 10 version of the item sold for $144,300 at a PWCC auction in May 2021. BGS grades a lot harder than PSA, making this pristine Pokemon card one of only three in the entire world.

Blastoise Wizards Of The Coast Presentation Galaxy Star Holo

  • Release Date: 1998
  • Grading: CGG 8.5
  • Pokemon card value at auction: $360,000

The Pokemon Trading Card Game community was stunned when this insanely rare Pokemon card was discovered by the public for the first time in 2021. Originally commissioned by Wizards of the Coast in 1998, the Blastoise Presentation card was supposed to give stores an idea of what the TCG line would look like in its final print run.

While there are varying reports about its history, its currently believed that only two are known to have ever existed, with only one currently accounted for. Its essentially is one of the earliest known Pokemon cards to exist, at least for the North American release. It was so early that one of the copies had a Magic: The Gathering backside to it, while the other is simply blank.

The historical Nintendo artifact went up for sale at Heritage Auctions in January 2021, and sold for a whopping $360,000, making it the third most expensive collectible just an inch behind the Base Set Charizard. Given that only two of these exist, it could one day take the top spot as the most valuable Pokemon card of all time. If nothing else it may be the rarest Pokemon card in the world.
