How To Get Strong Pokemon In Pokemon Go!! [For Beginners][5 Tips & Secrets]

Wily Reddit users found a way into the games code to figure out how Incense works. In case you need a reminder, Incense covers your Trainer in a pink, fluffy fragrance that attracts wild Pokemon to your location for 30 minutes. But you cant just be complacent and sit there waiting for Pokemon. If you stay still, youll only see one Pokemon every five minutes, which isnt a great way to spend your time. Instead, take a walk and youll lure one Pokemon every 200 meters.

If you want to rest on your laurels, then the Lunar Module is the item you want. It acts the same as the incense, except it attracts Pokemon to your position. A nice option for those who dont feel like huffing down the block on a hot summer day.

The Colosseum Rome Italy

Once home to the greatest Gladiators in history, the Colosseum is now a famous hunting ground for Pokemon GO fans. Along with the massive amphitheater, the Colosseum can also gift you rare Pokemons such as Pikachu, Squirtle, and Oddish. Not just the Colosseum, but you can find Pokestops on every street in Rome.

How To Find Legendary And Rare Pokmon

Pokémon Go now has a huge number of Pokémon in the game, spanning various regions and editions of Pokémon. Most are pretty common and will pop up in the wild in various places, but there are several that are harder to come by. One rare Pokémon, Ditto, mimics other Pokémon, so youll sometimes catch a very common Pokémon like Ratata, only for it to transform into a Ditto. Special Legendary Pokémon, like Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos, require special actions to find and capture.

There are two primary ways to get many rare or Legendary Pokémon: raids and research. Raids are gym battles in which up to 20 players team up to take down a super-powerful Pokémon. When a raid appears at a gym, the Pokémon it features will have a power ranking. High-level players can usually take down relatively low-ranked Pokémon with levels between one and three by themselves, but youll need friends or other players for tougher battles often quite a few of them. If youre short on Pokémon Go-playing friends, try Googling to find Pokémon Go Discord servers for your area to find other players to team up with. If you successfully finish a raid, youll have a chance to catch the Pokémon you defeated, which is a great way to get tougher, rarer, and Legendary Pokémon in your collection.

Pokemon Go: Finding And Capturing Higher Cp Pokemon

A trainer’s total level dictates what the maximum CP of a wild Pokemon can be. This means players of a higher trainer level are more likely to spot Pokemon with higher overall CP and a higher CP ceiling.

Though many veteran Pokemon GO players are aware of this factoid, newer players may fail to notice right away.

First and foremost, if a Pokemon GO trainer wants to encounter higher CP Pokemon in the wild, they’ll need to put in some effort racking up XP and leveling up their trainer level.

For players looking elsewhere, raids are often a great avenue for CP-stacked Pokemon. Raid bosses, even lower-tier ones, tend to have a sizable amount of CP and impressive IV stats, making defeating and capturing them a worthwhile endeavor for trainers with enough Raid Passes and healing items. This is a great method to snag some more impressive Pokemon by the numbers.

Trainers who are not up for combing the wild or jumping into raids can try Research Tasks. When it comes to research encounters, the Pokemon seen are typically impressive in stats compared to the rank and file Pokemon found in the wild. Niantic does occasionally set specific Pokemon for research tasks, but if trainers aren’t picky, then it’s a great avenue to explore.

Many Daily Research Tasks also have fairly simple objectives, making research a decent wellspring for finding solid Pokemon.

Build Your Xp First Then Power

The skill of your Trainer is dictated by the XP you have. You move through the levels of XP, needing more XP each time to level up. But as you do so, the rewards get higher and you’ll evolve and hatch Pokemon at a higher level, as well as being able to power-up to higher levels.

Powering-up your Pokemon when your XP is low means it costs you more candies to do so. So it’s better to save your power-ups of Pokemon until you’ve reached a higher XP level – like over level 20.

To help build XP quickly, try some of these things:

    • Use a Lucky Egg when you’re actively playing
    • Evolve base Pokemon with excess candies – like Pidgey or Rattata
    • Catch everything
    • Battle with friends to get XP from taking over Gyms

    What Is Purifying Pokmon

Purifying your Pokémon changes them from their Shadow state and teaches them a new attack called Return. It also increases their IV scores and level quite a bit. While Purifying every Shadow Pokémon you rescue is not necessary there are achievements and Research tasks that rely on Purifying Pokémon. If you purify enough, you will also get additional Premier Balls to capture more Shadow Pokémon.

Keep in mind, the costs for Purifying Shadow Pokémon varies based on the species. Some of the more common species, such as Rattata and Zubat, only cost 1,000 Stardust, while some of the rarer Pokémon can cost up to 5,000 Stardust. If you need to complete a Research task that requires several purifications, you might want to hold off until you have several of the cheap ones. On the other hand, if you’re not trying to complete any achievements or Research, you may want to focus on purifying only the rarer Shadow Pokémon with good IVs.

Note: Shadow Pokémon got a huge rebalance recently that makes them perfect glass cannons. This rebalance and the introduction of Legendary Shadow Pokémon mean that the very best Pokémon in the game are Shadow Pokémon and so certain species should never be purified. If you have one of the following, don’t purify it:

    • Shadow Mewtwocurrently the most powerful Pokémon in all of Go!

How Much Candy Do You Get For Walking A Buddy Pokmon

Buddy candy is based on distance. Some Pokémon require you to walk 1 KM, others 3 KM or 5 KM to earn a candy. The distances are roughly but not exactly related to the distance of the Pokémon Eggs they hatch from 2 KM hatches tend to get a candy every 1 KM, 5 KM hatches every 3 KM, and 10 KM hatches every 10 KM, though there are some exceptions.

Here’s how walking a Buddy Pokémon compares to other methods for getting Candy in Pokémon Go:

    • 1 Candy per Buddy distance walked.
    • 1 Candy per Pokémon transferred to the Professor.
    • 3 Candies per base-level Pokémon caught in the wild.
    • 6 Candies per base-level Pokémon caught in the wild while using a Pinap Berry.
    • 5 Candies per second-level Pokémon caught in the wild.
    • 10 Candies per second-level Pokémon caught in the wild while using a Pinap Berry.
    • 10 Candies per third-level Pokémon caught in the wild.
    • 20 Candies per third-level Pokémon caught in the wild while using a Pinap Berry.
    • 5 to 15 Candies per 2 KM Egg hatched.
    • 10 to 21 Candies per 5 KM Egg hatched.
    • 16 to 32 Candies per 10 KM Egg hatched.

Again, walking a Buddy Pokémon isn’t a fast way to get a lot of Candy but it’s a consistent way to get a steady stream of Candy.

What About Fun Can’t You Just Buddy For Fun

  • Baby Pokémon will buddy up in your arms. So. Cute.
  • Small Pokémon will jump up on your shoulder. Pikachu takes 10 KM to do it, but so worth it.
  • Flying Pokémon will hover over your shoulder. It”s way cool.
  • Big Pokémon just look fantastic. Especially Dragonite, which barely fits on the screen.
  • Gyms: How To Defend Them Longer

Best Pokémon Go movesets for attack and defense [Updated ...

Sure, under the new Gym system, anyone can take down any Gym they want. So, the trick becomes making them not want to take down your Gym.

Ideally, you want to work as a team and stack a Gym with the best mix of ultra-tanks and counter-counters as possible. You want to anchor your Gyms with the Pokémon that are the toughest to take down:

  • Chansey
  • Slaking
  • If you want to optimize for intimidation, especially if you don’t mind feeding Golden Razz Berry remotely, then you can go for higher CP and not worry about it. Especially with Slaking. That’ll keep the Gym big and tall, further encouraging would-be attackers to keep stepping.

If you want to optimize for longevity, especially if you’re low on Golden Razz Berry, you can stick to between 1200 and 1800 CP and hope for the best.

You can also anticipate counters. Most of the best defenders have one thing in common and one weakness in common. They’re Normal type and so are all vulnerable to Fighting types.

To help compensate for that, you want to make sure your Pokémon have Psychic or Fairy type moves to at least damage the Fighting types that’ll be thrown against them.

    • Blissey: Dazzling Gleam
    • Chansey: Dazzling Gleam
    • Slaking: Play Rough

Then you want to interleave them with Pokémon that do even more damage to the counters or the generalists that less tactical players will throw at them. That’ll either beat down the attackers or force compromises in the attack teams and/or switching between rounds.

    How To Win Raids

In addition to gym battles, raids are now a big part of the Pokémon Go battle experience, and theyre the only way to earn some of the best rewards and rarest Pokémon in the game. Raids appear at gyms randomly throughout the day, marked by a big egg sitting on top of the gym icon on the world map. That egg will have a timer, indicating when the raid will start when it does, itll run for one hour. During that time, you can challenge the raid like you would any gym battle, except your team of six Pokémon will fight just one super-strong raid boss, and youll often need other players to defeat it.

Raid bosses come in a variety of difficulty levels, ranging from one to five. High-level trainers will find they can often handle a raid of anywhere between level one and level three on their own, but much higher and youll need help. Raids are designed to be massive battles with lots of trainers pitching in, and defeating a high-level raid boss can sometimes require 10 or more other players.

Defeating a raid boss is only the first step of the raid. When its done, youll earn some special rewards, like Golden Razz Berries and Rare Candies. Youll also get a chance to catch the raid boss Pokémon thats based on your performance, which team controls the host gym, and how many teammates you had in the battle. Even with items like Golden Razz Berries, catching raid bosses is hit-and-miss, so make sure you use every trick at your disposal, including curveballs and Excellent throws.

    Catching: Set Your Circle Size

Once you get the hang of hitting Great or even Excellent throws, you can up your odds by setting the circle size, so it’s ready when you want to throw.

  • Touch and hold the Poké Ball until the target circle shrinks down to Excellent size.
  • Wait until the Pokémon starts to attack.
  • Spin the Poké Ball so you can curve it.
  • As the Pokémon gets to about 3/4 through its attack, throw the curve ball as close to dead center as you can.
  • The target circle will remain the same size you set, so if you hit it correctly, you’ll score the Excellent throw and associated bonus.

    How To Manage Motivation

So youve captured the gym and put your best team in it. Youre set, right? Theres no way someone is going to take it from you. That used to be the case, but with the latest update things have changed. Now you have to take into account motivation, which is your Pokemons willingness to fight translated in combat power. Every day you hold a gym, the CP of your Pokemon drops. Once it hits zero, your Pokemon get kicked out of the gym unless you feed berries to each one holding it. To make matters worse, Pokemon with CP above 3,000 lose motivation faster. This ensures a more dynamic map, but also makes it harder to hold gyms. Thats why youll want to keep yourself well stocked with berries so you can keep your Pokemon in fighting shape.

    And What Are The Biomes

Again, only Pokémon Go’s developers know for sure. Some have also changed with the advent of Gen 2. A few have been colloquially identified as follows along with more recent changes:

    • Common: Pidgey, Rattata, Weedle Sentrat, Hoothoot
    • Water: Magikarp, Slowpoke, Psyduck, Tentacool, Staryu, Goldeen, Squirtle, Chinchou.
    • Electric: Magnamite, Voltorb
    • Mountain: Clefairy

Ultra-rare spawns will sometimes be slightly more common in certain biomes. For example, Dratini at water spawns, Lavitar at mountain spawns.
