Proto: Pokmon Gold And Silver/spaceworld 1997 Demo/pokmon
This is a sub-page of Proto:Pokémon Gold and Silver/Spaceworld 1997 Demo.
Despite only being a demo, this build of the game contains data for 251 Pokémon: the returning original 151 as well as 100 newcomers. While only a handful are obtainable through the demo, all of them have front and back sprites, names, typing, and the like. For the sake of accuracy, the “Final” sprites shown here are from the game’s original Japanese release. A handful of sprites underwent further changes during the localization process prior to the game’s international release, the full details of which can be seen here.
Moreover, there exist a handful of differences when it comes to the Pokémon menu sprites. Indeed, not only do some Pokémon use different icons, but some menu sprites are also completely absent from this build, with those being denoted by asterisks in the tables below.
Acquiring The Frustration Tm
Pokémon Gold & Silver;introduced the friendship mechanic for every;Pokémon, which was influenced by how well you treated your;Pokémon. It’s generally easier to have a high friendship score with a;Pokémon, due to how the score increases every time you level up.
If you visit the Goldenrod Department Store on a Sunday, then you can meet a woman who will give you a TM for free. The fact that most players will have a;Pokémon with high friendship means that she will almost certainly give you the TM for Return. If you go out of your way to lower the friendship score of your;Pokémon , then you will receive the Frustration TM from the same lady, which is a move that is powered by how low your;Pokémon’s friendship score is.
Status Prevention Hold Item Effects
In the game code there are six unused types of hold item effects that prevent the Pokémon holding it from being inflicted with a status ailment.
Four of the effects bring up the text “<Pokémon>’s protected by <item>!”, but the ones that prevent the Burn and Freeze ailments, while functionable, do not bring up this message. Hold items with these attributes are not consumed after use, like Leftovers.
It is unknown why these are unused.

Seeing all of the Unovan Pokédex will allow players to access the Nature Preserve, and completing it will earn the Oval Charm, an item to increase the rate of eggs appearing in the day care center. Completing the National Dex in these games earns players the Shiny Charm, which substantially increases the chances of finding a shiny Pokémon.
New Pokmon In The Anime

With the Pokédex upped to 251, trainers would have a difficult time filling out their pocket computer. Unfortunately for players, Professor Elm has no interest in the degree to which they completed their Pokédex, with little to no reaction at all. Travelling over to the Kanto region trainers can find Professor Oak who will be impressed, but ultimately the only reward is another diploma from the Game Freak Studio in Celadon City. In these games, however, the diploma is printable with the GameBoy add-on, the GameBoy Printer.
Sun Moon Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon
Registering all 300 Pokémon in the Alola Pokédex will earn players a special stamp for their passport and the Shiny Charm. Game Freak finally dropped the diplomas and in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Versions players also obtain the Karate Gi outfit that they can wear on their tropical vacation.; Generation 7 is the first since Generation 2 that doesnt feature a National Pokédex. This change is especially odd due to the availability of the island scan and ultra wormhole features, which allow players to catch Pokémon that arent in the Alolan Dex. Instead, they are listed as #???.

Finding The Remnants Of Mewtwo
The fate of Mewtwo in;Pokémon Gold & Silver;is unknown, as the dungeon in which he resided is now destroyed. It’s possible that Red caught Mewtwo on his journey, but it’s never explained why he doesn’t use it in the final battle with you.;Pokémon HeartGold& SoulSilver;had a new version of Cerulean Cave with Mewtwo still inside, which confirmed that Red never caught it.
While Mewtwo might be gone in;Pokémon Gold & Silver,;there is still a remnant of him left behind in the form of the Berserk Gene. The waters near the Cerulean Cave entrance hide a powerful held-item called the Berserk Gene, which drastically boosts the;Pokémon’s Attack score, while also confusing it.
Finding The Week Siblings
The introduction of the working clock;and weekly calendar in;Pokémon Gold & Silver;meant that certain events could only be completed on certain days, which prompted players to check in at specific times.
One of the quests that is;tied to the clock is the hunt for the Week Siblings, who reside in different parts of Johto on different days of the week, which means that you can only meet them on specific days. The benefit of hunting down Monica, Tuscany, Wesley, Arthur, Frieda, Santos, and Sunny is that they will each give you an item when you meet them, as well as giving you a ribbon if you encounter them in;Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver.;

X Y Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire
Generation 6 continued the trend of useful rewards. In X and Y Versions, players seeing the 457 Pokémon of the Kalos Dex would earn an Oval Charm, and catching all 721 Pokémon would reward players with the Shiny Charm. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Versions follow suit, rewarding players with an Oval Charm for seeing all 211 Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex and a Shiny Charm for obtaining all 721 Pokémon in the National Dex. And dont forget to pick up the four diplomas that trainers earn along the way.
Red Blue And Yellow Versions
Back in 1996, completing the Pokédex was much more simple, yet simultaneously much more difficult. Many Pokémon from the first generation could only be evolved by trading and without an online or even wireless trade system, trainers would need to possess a friend and a link cable to even have a shot at getting those elusive trade exclusives. As for the lucrative goodies for completing the one and only Pokédex, Professor Oak has nothing for trainers but a clap on the back. In Celadon City, however, Game Freak Studios rewards players for their hard work with a diploma celebrating their achievement.

Meganium Umbreon And Espeon
These are 3;of the all-time fan favorites because they are all so cute.;Meganium is the final form of Johto’s Grass starter, Chikorita,;while Umbreon and Espeon are 2 new evolutions created for Eevee in Generation 2. All 3 of them have a base stat total of 525.
Espeon is extremely similar to Alakazaam, in that it is very fast with;an extremely high Special Attack. Umbreon functions as a good defensive Pokemon, but really isn’t going to stand out on the offensive side. Meganium in general struggles a bit in Gen 2.;It was much more useful in later generations when it could be used in;Double Battles, but those don’t exist as of this generation, and the typing doesn’t do it any favors.
Meganium;evolves from the Grass-type starter for Gold and Silver, meaning you’re given the option to pick it right at the beginning of the game. If you picked another starter or want more Meganium, you need to trade members of the family in from other games.
There is a free Eevee from Bill in Goldenrod City that can be turned into either Espeon or Umbreon by leveling it up with high Friendship during the day for Espeon and during the night for Umbreon.

Pok Mart And Pokmon Center Signs
In the Japanese and Korean versions, the signs of Pokémon Centers in Johto have a Poké Ball drawing with the letters PC next to it. In the localizations, the sign was changed back to the one used in Red, Green, Blue and Yellow, due to “PC” being more commonly used in the west as an abbreviation of “personal computer”. The Pokémon Center signs in Kanto use the old design in all versions.

The plot and gameplay of Pokemon Crystal is largely the same as in Gold and Silver, although it holds several new features. It is the first game to allow players to choose the sex of their character, while previously the character was always male. Pokemon have animated sprites; for example, when a Cyndaquil enters battle, the flames on its back flicker. This feature was absent in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire and Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, before reappearing in Pokemon Emerald and all subsequent games. In addition, a couple of subplots were added, one involving the legendary Pokemon Suicune, featured on the front cover of the game, and the other involving the Unown. The games biggest addition is the Battle Tower, a new building which allows players to participate in Pokemon Stadium -like fights. The Japanese edition of the game was exclusively bundled with the Mobile Adapter GB, a device that allowed for connecting with other players via mobile phone.
On January 26, 2018, Pokemon Crystal was released worldwide for the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console.
Lets Go Pikachu And Eevee

National Park Gate Oversight
In the Japanese releases of Gold and Silver, the scripts in the National Park gates do not end an ongoing Bug-Catching Contest if the player warps away. When the player returns to the gate afterwards, the Contest Helper’s script for leaving the contest early will run instead of treating it as being already over for that day.
This oversight was fixed in the localizations and Crystal.
