Pokmon: Let’s Go Pikachu And Let’s Go Eevee Announced For Nintendo Switch

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu VS Let’s Go Eevee!

Rumors have been running rampant for weeks, but Nintendo has finally announced the upcoming Pokémon series titles for Nintendo Switch. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! will be coming to Nintendo’s newest console. This game will take players back to the Kanto region one more time with a bit of an added twist — Game Freak has adopted Pokémon Go’s gameplay style for wild Pokémon encounters.

Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! are based on one of the first generation games from the series, Pokémon Yellow. The two titles feature the two available starters, Pikachu and Eevee, and will allow the player to go on a co-op adventure with another player. Trainer battles still retain the original Pokémon battle system that we’ve all come to know and love, so don’t worry too much about the changes if Pokémon Go isn’t necessarily your thing.

Additionally, Nintendo has announced a new interactive Pokéball peripheral that is paired with the upcoming titles. This Pokéball is similar to the Pokéwalker from Heart Gold and Soul Silver that allowed you to take one Pokémon from your team out into the real world to gain experience. This time around, you can take your Pokémon and hear their cries while out in the community. The games are also compatible with Pokémon Go — Pokémon caught can be traded between the mobile and Switch games seamlessly, though it has not been announced how levels will transfer to combat power and vice versa.

If youre trying to decide which version of Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu to buy, youll likely want to know the difference between the two. Aside from having a different buddy Pokémon accompany you on your journey , there are slight variations that make each version unique.

For example, there’s a list of Pokémon that are exclusive to each version and Specials that can only be learned by Eevee or Pikachu. To help you figure out which version to buy, weve put together a guide on the difference between Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu!

More Powerful Than Wild Pikachus

The unique Partner Pikachu has a higher Base Stats compared to regular Pikachu found in the wild. The movesets they learn differs compared to the regular Pikachu, with moves such as Double Kick and Thunderbolt being available early on. Your trusty Partner will be a definite choice for challenging Story or Gyms.

Eevee: A Partner Eevee

If you pick up Lets Go, Eevee!, the fluffy Eevee will, of course, be your partner. Its a fan favorite with all the Eevee merch and fanart floating about, its no wonder this little cutie finally got a moment in the spotlight. Eevee may be a normal type, but with the special moves it can learn from Move Tutors, it sure can pack a punch!

Its worth noting that your partner Pokémon in either game cannot evolve, so that might factor into your decision of which one to buy. If you remember The Battling Eevee Brothers episode of the anime, youll know that Eevee is more than wonderful without the need to evolve. We love you, Eevee!

Appearances In The Anime

Team Pikachu vs. Team Eevee (Pokémon Let

This might look like another Pikachu clean sweep from the outset. Pikachus the face of the franchise because of the anime, and with good reason its adorable and powerful, and a beautiful piece of character design. But Pikachus fame came at a cost. Long gone is the bulky, rounded Pikachu we saw back in Red/Blue, and on our screens when the anime first debuted. The sleeker Pikachu, who still stands by Ashs side and has battled through some impossible odds, is a lovely Pokemon, but it has caved to the wants of a mainstream audience. Pikachu is a victim of its own popularity, one that Ash can never evolve for fear of upsetting the animes iconography.

In the very first episode of Pokémon, Ashs rival Gary starts off his adventure with an Eevee. Gary, who started out as a brash, sneering rival, would mellow significantly as the series went on. He eventually evolved his Eevee into an Umbreon and transitioned into more of a researcher role, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Professor Oak. While Ash and Pikachu are stuck in a perpetual cycle, unable ever to win a championship, playing out the same conflict with Team Rocket repeatedly, Gary and his Eevee have done their thing with a lot more chill. Thats very cool.

Lets Go Eevee: Your Own Pikachu

Just like the other game, you arent unable to find your own Pikachu if you decide to go with Lets Go, Eevee. You wont be able to dress it up or teach it special moves, but just like the original games, Pikachu is available early in the game in Viridian Forest. Much like Eevee, it has a rare appearance rate, but with how large the forest is youre bound to find one soon.

Much like captured Eevees in either game, you can also evolve captured Pikachus into Raichus freely, regardless of which game you’re playing. Your starter Pokémon is the only one you own that must remain in its adorable pre-evolved form.

Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu Vs Eevee Exclusive Pokemon

As has been the case with opposing Pokemon titles ever since the original Red and Blue rivalry that pitted siblings against each other in the mid 90s, Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu vs Eevee is largely defined by the exclusive Pokemon each game offers.

As it stands, Oddish, Sandshrew, and Growlithe have been confirmed to only appear in Lets Go Pikachu, while Bellsprout, Vulpix, and Meowth will only be available in Lets Go Eevee. This was the original Gen 1 split, so the game is staying true to its Kanto origins. Heres the full split by Pokemon family:

Pokmon Lets Go Vs Pokmon Yellow

Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu! and Lets Go, Eevee! are essentially remakes of Pokémon Yellow, which itself was an updated version of Pokémon Red and Blue in which more closely follows the Pokémon anime series. While the overall story does remain faithful to the original Pokémon Yellow, there are a number of changes and updates present in these new versions of the first-generation Pokémon games.

Relationship To Other Genres

Pokémon: Let’s Go | Pikachu vs Eevee Version Comparison

RPGs seldom test a player’s physical skill. Combat is typically a tactical challenge rather than a physical one, and games involve other non-action gameplay such as choosing dialog options, inventory management, or buying and selling items.

Although RPGs share some combat rules with , RPGs are often about a small group of individual characters. Wargames tend to have large groups of identical units, as well as non-humanoid units such as tanks and airplanes. Role-playing games do not normally allow the player to produce more units. However, the series crosses these genres by combining individual heroes with large numbers of troops in large battles.

RPGs rival in terms of their rich storylines, in contrast to genres that do not rely upon storytelling such as or . Both genres also feature highly detailed characters, and a great deal of exploration. However, adventure games usually have a well-defined character, whereas while RPGs may do so, many allow the player to design their characters. Adventure games usually focus on one character, whereas RPGs often feature an entire party. RPGs also feature a combat system, which adventure games usually lack. Whereas both adventure games and RPGs may focus on the personal or psychological growth of characters, RPGs tend to emphasize a complex eternal economy where characters are defined by increasing numerical attributes.

Character Actions And Abilities

S.C.O.U.R.G.E.: Heroes of Lesser Renown

Most of the actions in an RPG are performed indirectly, with the player selecting an action and the character performing it by their own accord. Success at that action depends on the character’s numeric attributes. Role-playing video games often simulate dice-rolling mechanics from non-electronic role-playing games to determine success or failure. As a character’s attributes improve, their chances of succeeding at a particular action will increase.

Many role-playing games allow players to play as an evil character. Although robbing and murdering indiscriminately may make it easier to get money, there are usually consequences in that other characters will become uncooperative or even hostile towards the player. Thus, these games allow players to make moral choices, but force players to live with the consequences of their actions. Games often let the player control an entire party of characters. However, if winning is contingent upon the survival of a single character, then that character effectively becomes the player’s . An example of this would be in , where if the character created by the player dies, the game ends and a previous save needs to be loaded.

No Random Battles With Wild Pokmon

One of the biggest changes between Pokémon Lets Go and Pokémon Yellow is the change in how you capture wild Pokémon. In the new Nintendo Switch titles, you will see the wild Pokémon wandering around on-screen. This makes it easier to have encounters only with those Pokémon you are interested in capturing.

Once you encounter a wild Pokémon, you do not need to battle it to weaken it before throwing a Poké Ball. The capturing mechanic is like that of the Pokémon Go mobile game. You simply throw a Poké Ball at the Pokémon as the circle indicator shrinks.

Some long-time fans may dislike this change, while others may embrace it. While it does make it less time consuming to capture Pokémon, it is a radical departure from the main-series Pokémon games.

Pokmon Lets Go Enfrenta A Pikachu Contra Eevee Cul Es La Mejor Versin

Lets Go Pikachu: Your Own Eevee

If you dont want to choose between Eevee and Pikachu and are okay with one that you cant dress up, then do keep in mind that there are other Eevees you can get in both versions. Going to Route 17, you will be able to find them in both Lets Go games, but with a rare rate of showing up.

Theyre hard to find, but you arent completely locked off from Eevees if you go with Lets Go, Pikachu. Also, unlike the starter Eevee, you can evolve captured Eevees regardless of your game into Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon too.

If Your Rival Evolves Eevee Into Jolteon:

  • Jolteon
  • Ninetales
  • Magneton

Regardless of which Eeveelution your rival chooses, they will have an incredibly powerful team. Given that your rival in Pokemon Yellow chose Eevee as their starter, it could be the case that both of the new versions will follow suit. Perhaps your rival in Pokemon Lets Go Eevee will choose Pikachu, and your rival in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu will choose Eevee. This would make perfect sense, given that your rival could either base their team around their Eeveelution, or around yours.

If this is the case, choosing Lets Go Eevee could give you a way of deciding your rivals team, whereas choosing Lets Go Pikachu will cause your rival to base their team on whatever final form of Eevee they get. This is just speculative, but Pokemon Yellow is the closest thing weve ever seen to the Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu vs Eevee games.

Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee VS. Pokémon Sword and Shield: Which Game is Better?

It all comes down to preference, really.

This November, kids of all ages will be invited into the adorable world of Pokemon in two new Nintendo Switch games: Pokemon: Lets Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Lets Go, Eevee. What are these games about, and which version should your family pick up? Read on to find out.

What are these games?

Pokemon: Lets Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Lets Go, Eevee are the latest video games in the popular Pokemon franchise. Theyre set in a world inspired by Pokemon Yellow, which was released on Game Boy in 1999, but theyll offer a more casual experience than traditional Pokemon role-playing games . The games will combine elements from those traditional RPGs and the popular mobile game Pokemon Go to create an experience that The Pokemon Company has said will be easily approachable for newcomers to the series.

What will players do?

Each game will allow players to become a Pokemon trainer and travel the in-game world, capturing Pokemon and competing in Pokemon battles against other trainers . Lets Go, Pikachu and Eevee will let players explore environments and talk to characters that they may remember from previous games, but this time in 3D.

Whats the difference between these games and a traditional Pokemon RPG?

If youre playing the game in handheld mode , the capture system is slightly different, asking players to move the Switch around to accurately target the Pokemon with a Poke Ball.

Wait, this game has multiplayer?

Switch Out Party Pokmon Whenever You Want

In the main-series Pokémon games, you must use a PC in a Pokémon Center every time you want to switch the Pokémon in your party. In the new Switch games, however, you can change your team any time you want, as your Pokémon collection is carried inside your bag wherever you go. This can make the game much easier, as you dont need to plan ahead for what Pokémon you will need for different parts of the game. Changing out your Pokémon team also feel less tedious with this system.

In addition to having access to all of your Pokémon whenever you want, you can also rename your Pokémon at anytime without needing to visit the Name Rater, so there is no need to worry about thinking of the perfect nickname every time you catch a new Pokémon.

Meltan And Melmetal Added

There are two new Mythical Pokémon available in Lets Go that were not available in any other Pokémon game. These new Pokémon, Meltan and its evolution Melmetal, can only be found in Pokémon Go, and must be transferred from the mobile game to Lets Go using the Go Park in Fuchsia City.

I like to think of these Pokémon as an updated version of Missingno , but I doubt thats what the developers were going for.

Lets Go Pikachu: Exclusive Pokmon

The most common differences in any Pokémon game are the Pokémon themselves, as some species are only available in Lets Go, Pikachu that you cannot find in Lets Go, Eevee, and vice-versa. For Lets Go, Pikachu this includes the Sandshrew, Oddish, Growlithe, Mankey, Grimer, and Scyther families.

If you do wish to truly catch em all, you can always trade with friends to get these. But if any of them are your favorites and you want to include in your team, youll have to make some choices.

You Can Play With Your Partner Pokmon

Pokémon: Let

You are also able to play with your partner Pokémon in a feature similar to the Pokémon-Amie feature introduced Pokémon X and Y. You can pet your buddy Pikachu or Eevee, change its hairstyle by petting its head in specific patterns, and feed it berries to make it happy and increase its friendship level.

Your entire Pokemon collection is at your fingertips!
