What If You Don’t Have The Best Movesets In Pokmon Go
Since the introduction of the Raid Battle system in June 2017, you can get Technical Machines to change your movesets. Two of the possible rewards for beating Raid Bosses are Quick TM and Fast TM, which can be used to change Quick Moves and Charge Moves respectively. Regular TMs are completely random and cannot access Legacy Moves.
Legacy Moves are special moves that were once available for a Pokémon but are no longer. Sometimes they were removed when Niantic re-balanced the game. Some were only available on Community Day or in special Raids. Either way, if a Legacy Move happens to be the best possible move for a Pokémon and you don’t have it, you cannot get it with a normal TM. Before you use a TM on any Pokémon, you should always check to see if the move you’re changing is a Legacy Move and if that move is worth having. A lot of Legacy Moves don’t perform well, but some of them are the best moves in the game.
More recently, Niantic introduced Elite TMs. These TMs are rare, and often difficult to get or expensive, but allow you to choose from any move a Pokémon can have, including Legacy Moves. They aren’t random either. You get to choose the move. Because of how hard it is to get Elite TMs, you’ll want to save them for your very best Pokémon, but hey, now you can have a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball and Psystrike!
Master League: 35 / 5
With a max CP of 2983, Suicune struggles a bit in Master League in terms of stats. However, Ice Fang and the debuff ability are key to keep its relevance here, allowing it to munch through many big Dragon- and Flying-types without having the unconvenient weaknesses of a true Ice-type. In fact, with Grass and Electric being uncommon here, Suicune can hold its own against a variety of threats.
Use It As A Rest Talker
Suicune is arguably the most famous “Bulky Water”, and saw dominance in Generation III as an unbreakable and unstoppable wall that had the potential to sweep teams in the late game.
While it’s no longer the best Bulky Water in the metagame, it still has a niche as one of the few effective “Rest Talkers” as popularized by Cromat’s “CroCune” set. Despite this, it’s best used in the late stages of the battle as a cleaner or a status absorber.

Suggested Counters For Pokemon Go Suicune Raid Day
Since Suicune is a pure Water-type, that makes it pretty easy to pick your counters for this raid. However, there are a few odd catches with this Pokemons moveset that youll want to look out for.
If youre picking a Grass/Poison type, youll want to look out for the Psychic move Extrasensory, and Snarl will hit Exeggcutes partial Psychic-typing exceptionally hard. Those are both quick moves, but the most dangerous charge move Suicune can have is Ice Beam which will make quick work of your Grass Pokemon.

As a pure Water type, Suicune takes double damage from Grass and Electric moves. What Suicune has going for it though, are a wide range of potential moves. Suicune’s movepool includes Water, Ice, Psychic, and Dark type moves, meaning Electric type counters are generally a safer bet. However, sincer there are both Electric and Grass type Mega Evolutions available now, there are winning strategies for both.

Using The Move Rankings
Each Pokemon has a pool of Fast Moves and a pool of Charged Moves. Some moves might be better in one battle, and other moves might be better in another. For Trainer Battles, you’ll want know which moves will be the best ones to have in the most matchups. You might also want to know which Pokemon are the best candidates for a second Charged Move. The move details within each Pokemon ranking can help you determine that.
Moves are ranked using calculations primarily based on their damage and energy cost. Stat changes are also factored in. These calculations are run for each matchup, and then totaled across the format. Matchup weighting affects these numbers as well, so moves that would be used against significant meta targets will rank higher.
When looking at potential moves, keep an eye out for Pokemon that have a strong tendency toward a single Fast Move and a single Charged Move. These Pokemon will have their optimal moveset in the most matchups. On the other hand, some Pokemon see more balanced usage in their Charged Moves. This is where having a second Charged Move comes into play.
As an exercise, select any one Pokemon in the Team Builder tool and compare its battle histograms when it has one Charged Move and when it has two. If a second Charged Move improves its matchups, it might be one worth investing in.

How Many Trainers Are Needed
Although Suicune isn’t the strongest Legendary to exist in “Pokemon GO” Raids, you’ll definitely want to coordinate with your friends to take it down, but according to Attack of the Fanboy, three players who are Best Friends and have a high level and a roster of some high-CP Grass and Electric-type Pokemon, beating the Legendary is possible.
Still, it can be rather hard, so as much as possible, form a five-member team before proceeding to a five-star Suicune Raid.
Weather boost can also help you against the Pokemon.
During Rainy weather, Electric-types are boosted, giving them more power than usual, but the bad thing is it also boosts Suicune, so the fight would be tougher than usual, so remember that when forming a team to Raid.

Are Entei Raikou And Suicune Good In Pokemon Go What Are Their Best Movesets
Lets start with Entei. While arguably the coolest of the three, it struggles to make an impact in the PVP meta.
It comes in at a paltry 403rd place in the Great League and 227th in the Ultra League according to PVPoke, meaning its a pretty hard skip.
If youre going to use it, the Master League is the place as Entei comes in at 103rd. Still not great but better than the Great/Ultra Leagues.
The moveset youll want to use for Entei is:
- Fast Move Fire Spin
The last of the three Legendary Dogs is Suicune.
Suicune is slightly worse in the Great League than Raikou, coming in at 124th place. Despite this though, it still beats some big players in the league like Galarian Stunfisk, Azumarill, Skarmory, Swampert and Umbreon.
Suicunes best opportunity is in the Ultra League, where it ranks 47th and picking up big wins against Giratina, Togekiss, Articuno, Charizard and Gyarados however, this time it loses to Swampert.
The Water Dog also performs respectably in the Master League. It comes in at 87th place but wins against Togekiss, Groudon and Rayquaza. Sadly though, even with an Ice-type move, it fails to beat a range of the best Dragon-types such as Dialga, Giratina and Dragonite.
The best moveset for Suicune is below:
- Fast Move Snarl
Suicunes Stats In Pokemon Go
Suicune wont make much headway in battle. Its moveset is average at best and its stats dont put it anywhere near useable. Sure, it can take on low-level Fire-, Ground-, or Rock-type raids, but its shouldnt hold a spot on your team of Water attackers.
It has a good defense stat, but its amount of HP doesnt give it enough durability to be considered a top-tier choice for PvP. Here are Suicunes stats:
- Attack: 180
- Defense: 235
- HP: 225
Thats all there is to know about Suicunesraid, stats, counters, weaknesses, and best movesets. If youre feeling a bit let down by Suicune, then check out the legendary raid that will be running until September in our Rayquaza raid guide.

Everything Else We Know About Suicune In Pokmon Go
This legendary trio was created by Ho-Oh, the trio’s master, after a series of disastrous events occurred in the Burnt Tower of Ecruteak City in the Johto region. The tower was, first, struck by lightning, which started a fire. This fire was ultimately put out by the rain and wind.
The legendary beasts are believed to embody these three events, but what Ho-Oh actually created them from is unknown. A popular fan theory, however, is that they are reincarnations or revived forms of the original three Eeveelutions – Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon.
Suicune was also the mascot Pokémon for Pokémon Crystal and had its own storyline within the game, which was reworked slightly in Pokémon Soulsilver and Heartgold.

Q Is Suicune A Dog Or A Cat
Suicune is the least animalistic of the three Legendary Pokemon, with more mythical elements and inspiration based around a Kirin/Qilin from Chinese and East Asian mythologies and Fjin from Shinto mythology. Despite these mythical elements, Suicune is more based on leopard and feline characteristics than canine characteristics.

What are the best choices?
Image via Niantic
Suicune is a legendary Pokémon you add to your collection in Pokémon Go. Because its a legendary Pokémon, you typically have to catch it by beating it in five-star raids, or by completing specific special research task that become available in the game, every so often. More often than not, you have to beat it in a raid, and youll need a few friends to help take it down. Once you do, what is the best moveset it can learn to be the best combatant?
Suicune is a Water-type Pokémon. Its only weak to Grass and Electric-type attacks, and its resistant to Fire, Ice, Steel, and Water-type moves. Because its weak to a handful of attacks, you can use that to your advantage and when creating a Pokémon team. For PvP, it has a maximum CP of 2,983, an attack of 154, a defense of 197, and a stamina of 189. For PvE, it has an attack of 180, a defense of 235, and a stamina of 225. While it has a lower attack than you might want for most PvP battles, Suicunes defenses are helpful, and its diverse moveset make it a niche choice.
These are all of the moves Suicune can learn.
How To Catch A Shiny Suicune In Pokemon Go
Much like other legendary Pokemon with a shiny variant in the game, every catch encounter after a successful raid has a 1 in 20 chance of being shiny, so 5%. This is a much higher shiny rate than you’d usually find with standard wild Pokemon, and as a bonus, shiny legendaries from raids have a 100% catch rate. This means you can put the Golden Razz Berries away and pop a Pinap Berry instead to maximise your candy gains just make sure you land the throw and don’t miss every ball!
Give me a game and I will write every “how to” I possibly can or die trying. When I’m not knee-deep in a game to write guides on, you’ll find me hurtling round the track in F1, flinging balls on my phone in Pokemon Go, pretending to know what I’m doing in Football Manager, or clicking on heads in Valorant.

What About Types In Pokmon Go
It’s also important to keep in mind types! While some Pokémon only have one type, most have two and all Pokémon can learn moves from multiple types. Although most Pokémon have a single moveset that is the best for their whole species, there are some Pokémon who have multiple sets. Take Chandelure, for example Chandelure is a Fire and Ghost type and can be one of the best of either. If you’re using your Chandelure as a Fire type, you’ll want it to know Fire Spin and Overheat, but if you’re going for Ghost type, you’ll want Hex and Shadow Ball.
The Best Moveset For Suicune In Pokemon Gold And Silver
Suicune can flat out be too much for Pokemon to handle due to the punishing attacks it learns as well as its bulk.
While it may be very difficult to catch, the search for Suicune may be worth it. With 100 HP and 115 in both Defense and Special Defense, Suicune has close to perfect defensive stats. It also is a Water-type Pokemon, which is a great defensive type, since it only has to worry about Electric and Grass moves. Suicune can also deal serious damage, especially with this moveset.

Q Does Ash Catch Suicune
First seen standing on a small island in a lake when Ash was going towards New Bark Town, Suicune originally followed from a distance before disappearing into the fog. Ash discovered Suicune in the Oak Corral after it was attacked by Pokemon Hunters. After healing the injured Suicune, Suicune requested to remain with Ash, a request which Ash accepted.
How Many Players Does It Take To Beat Suicune In Pokmon Go
While it is technically possible for three high level Trainers to beat Suicune under the best circumstances, this is highly dependent on Suicune’s moves and your counters. If the Suicune you’re fighting has Ice type moves, it is likely going to need a bigger party. I would aim for four or five to play it safe.
Weather conditions that can impact this Raid include:
- Rain will boost Suicune’s Water type moves and your Electric type counters.
- Snow will boost Suicune’s Ice type moves.
- Windy Weather will boost Suicune’s Psychic type move.
- Fog will boost Suicune’s Dark type move.
- Sunny/Clear Weather will boost your Grass type counters.
