ALL Version DIFFERENCES In Pokemon LET’S GO Pikachu & Eevee!

Ive wanted to write this article for a long time. I dawdled on it for a while until I started playing Pokemon Sword again recently. I reviewed both Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee and Pokemon Sword/Shield a while back. I am still happy with those reviews and still stand by them, but today, I wanted to do something a little different. Im going to compare both of these Pokemon titles to find out which one is the better game So, without further delay, lets find out which is the better game: Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee, or Pokemon Sword/Shield?

Point 1: Story

Except for Pokemon Black and White, mainline Pokemon games are not known for their complex storytelling. The Pokemon games will have the player go through the region and collect gym badges Both Pokemon Lets Go, and Sword/Shield seldom deviates from this formula Ill be honest; neither of these games makes a compelling argument that they are the best story-wise. If I had to choose one, Id have to give it to Sword/Shield. Pokemon Lets Go has the gym leader just sit in their gym, waiting for the challenger to come up to them. It does make them somewhat imposing, but its nothing compared to the giant stadium with a huge crowd watching you beat the gym leaders pokemon into submission. So, the point goes to Sword/Shield.

Point 2: Visuals.

Point 3: Music

Point 4: Gameplay

Point 5: World

There are a few unique points to each game that need to be addressed, herein referred to as freebies.

Lets Go Freebee:

Which Edition You Pick Will Affect More Than Just Your Pokmon

Just like the classic Pokemon games, like Pokemon Red and Blue and Pokemon Sun and Moon, there are two editions of this one to choose from: Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!;and;Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!;Besides the obvious – you’ll get Pikachu as your partner Pokémon if you buy Let’s Go Pikachu, and Eevee if you buy Let’s Go Eevee – is there really much difference between the different editions? Turns out that yes, there is. Some Pokémon will be exclusive to the individual edition – for instance, Polygon reports Oddish, Sandshrew and Growlithe will only team up with Pikachu, whereas Bellsprout, Vulpix, and Meowth will only play for Team Eevee – but your ability to travel is also affected. Pikachu’s nifty surfboard makes water-travel fun, but only Eevee can fly about with a balloon. You’ll also get a different “partner power”, too!

If Your Rival Evolves Eevee Into Jolteon:

  • Jolteon
  • Ninetales
  • Magneton

Regardless of which Eeveelution your rival chooses, they will have an incredibly powerful team. Given that your rival in;Pokemon Yellow;chose Eevee as their starter, it could be the case that both of the new versions will follow suit. Perhaps your rival in;Pokemon Lets Go Eevee;will choose Pikachu, and your rival in;Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu;will choose Eevee. This would make perfect sense, given that your rival could either base their team around their Eeveelution, or around yours.

If this is the case, choosing;Lets Go Eevee;could give you a way of deciding your rivals team, whereas choosing;Lets Go Pikachu;will cause your rival to base their team on whatever final form of Eevee they get. This is just speculative, but;Pokemon Yellow;is the closest thing weve ever seen to the;Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu;vs;Eevee;games.

Lets Go Pikachu: Alolan Sandshrew And Alolan Grimer

The exclusive Pokémon dont stop with what you can capture. Lets Go, Pikachu & Lets Go, Eevee also features lots of in-game trades where you give a Pokémon to an NPC in exchange for one that might be rarer. To make these even more special, some alternate-typed species from Pokémon Sun & Moon are available that you cannot trade for in Lets Go, Eevee.

For Lets Go, Pikachu, this includes the Ice-type Alolan Sandshrew, who evolves into Sandslash and is one of the only Steel-type Pokémon in the game. You also can trade for Alolan Grimer, who gains the equally elusive Dark-type in addition to Poison.

Collecting Both Pikachu And Eevee

What

Just because you choose Eevee version doesnt mean you wont be able to get a Pikachu, and vice versa. Pikachu is easy to find in the wild as early as Viridian City; theyre not the most common finds, but you can grab multiple Pikachu without putting in too much effort.

Eevee, meanwhile, was never available to catch in the wild in the original Game Boy games. Lets Go! draws heavily on these, so we imagine it works the same way: Theres a single Eevee a player can grab, and it requires sneaking into the backdoor of the Celadon City mansion.

Pikachu lovers who want an Eevee will most likely have to rely on trading with someone else someone who already traded themselves an Eevee from Pokémon Go.

Ner Pokmon: Pikachu Or Eevee

The main difference between the two versions of the new pair of Pokémon games for Nintendo Switch is which Pokémon you get as your partner Pokémon. Your partner Pokémon is a special Pokémon that you have with you throughout your adventure through the Kanto region, so choose wisely. This Pokémon will travel with your every step of the way. You will be able to dress this Pokémon up in outfits, including matching outfits for your Pokémon and your playable character if you choose. This Pokémon will also be able to learn exclusive moves.

Catching Pokmon Works The Same Way As Pokmon Go

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN Pokémon LET’S GO EEVEE and LET’S GO PIKACHU!

Encounters with wild pokémon are heavily influenced by the mobile “Pokémon Go.” Players will see wild Pokémon on the screen as they explore and touching them will trigger the encounter.

The game uses the same circular targetting system as “Pokémon Go” and players can either use motion or touch controls to throw a poké ball. A colored circle will show either green, yellow or red to show the chances of catching the Pokémon. Higher level Pokémon will be harder to catch, but players can feed Pokémon wild berries to encourage them to stay in the ball.In past Pokémon games players would need to battle wild pokémon to weaken them before they could be caught. This will still be the case for legendary Pokémon in “Let’s Go” but regular encounters in the wild should be much easier.

Go Park Replaces The Safari Zone

Strange PC Games Review: difference between pokemon lets ...

Instead of the Safari Zone present in Pokémon Yellow, you will now be able to access the Go Parks in Fuchsia City. The Go Parks allow you to transfer Pokémon from the Pokémon Go mobile game to the Pokémon Lets Go Nintendo Switch games. The Pokémon you transfer from your phone will appear in the Go Parks, and you will be required to capture them again, but this is an easy way to fill up your Pokédex.

Unlike in the original version, you do not get Safari Balls when you enter the park. You will be required to use your own inventory of Poké Balls, so be sure to stock up before entering.

No Random Battles With Wild Pokmon

One of the biggest changes between Pokémon Lets Go and Pokémon Yellow is the change in how you capture wild Pokémon. In the new Nintendo Switch titles, you will see the wild Pokémon wandering around on-screen. This makes it easier to have encounters only with those Pokémon you are interested in capturing.

Once you encounter a wild Pokémon, you do not need to battle it to weaken it before throwing a Poké Ball. The capturing mechanic is like that of the Pokémon Go mobile game. You simply throw a Poké Ball at the Pokémon as the circle indicator shrinks.

Some long-time fans may dislike this change, while others may embrace it. While it does make it less time consuming to capture Pokémon, it is a radical departure from the main-series Pokémon games.

Eevee can be your partner Pokemon instead of Pikachu.

You Still Get To Carry A Group Of Your Fave Pokmon In Your Party

As we get used to the coming together of favourite old school Pokémon games and the mobile pehnomenon, Pokémon Go, we’re still learning which parts of which games will feature in Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. We can now confirm that you can have up to six Pokémon in your party at one time, but the coolest thing about this is that they’ll display according to scale when they’re walking or interacting with you which means the really big ones, you can ride!

Barely Any Wild Pokmon Battles I Feel Incomplete

It’s a little weird that I can run around these familiar locations and encounter wild Pokémon without really being able to battle any of them.

It’s a little weird that I can run around these familiar locations and encounter wild Pokémon without really being able to battle any of them. Now, true battles do exist at the varoius gyms or with special Pokémon like the Snorlax blocking my way, but I really miss grinding to make my party stronger. The experience just isn’t the same when all of your Pokémon share XP simply for being in your party after you’ve successfully thrown a Poké Ball at something.

Going along with the sentiment above, the Let’s Go games feel a little too simple. It matches the watered-down Pokémon encounters, I guess. But, if you’re looking for a challenging game, this isn’t it.

Does Pokmon: Lets Go Have Anything To Do With Pokmon Go

The inspiration from Pokémon Go is clear and, indeed, Lets Go! will allow players to connect their Pokémon Go games. There will be a way to transfer Pokémon caught in Pokémon Go to Pokémon: Lets Go! via Bluetooth. It should be noted that this transfer is only from Go to Lets Go!, not vice versa.

Additionally, only Kanto Pokémon and their Alolan forms will be able to be transferred.

A new device called the Poké Ball Plus will work with both games, allowing for a neat real-life catching mechanic, the ability to take your Pokémon with you where you go, and transfer between the mobile and Switch games.

Update : Connecting your Pokémon: Lets Go! and Pokémon Go games can be a bit of a hassle, but ultimately, it boils down to making sure nothing else is interacting with the bluetooth connection. That means using the Switch in docked or tabletop mode, going through your phone to make sure other devices are disconnected, and enabling all app permissions in Pokémon Go.
