Community Day Special Research
As part of February’s Community Day, Niantic is offering an event-exclusive Special Research story called Stop and Smell the Roselia. To access this story, you’ll need to purchase a virtual ticket for $1. However, if you purchase a ticket for the Kanto Tour event by February 3, you’ll also receive a February Special Research ticket as a free bonus.
In addition to the paid Research Story, event-exclusive Timed Research tasks will also be available during February’s Community Day. Completing these tasks will net you various rewards, including Sinnoh Stones, which are required to evolve Roselia into Roserade.
Pokemon Go: Catch Shiny Roselia During February Community Day
The second Community Day of 2021 features a lovely flower Pokemon.
Trainers, event is still a few days away, but we can already look ahead to whats next .
Roselia is a Grass- and Poison-type Pokemon from the third Generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, Budew can be evolved into Roselia using 25 Roselia Candy, and Roselia can be evolved into Roserade using 100 Roselia Candy and a Sinnoh Stone. Each time you evolve Roselia into Roserade during Februarys Community Day , Roserade will learn the battle moves Weather Ball and Bullet Seed.
During Februarys Community Day event, players will be able to complete themed Timed Research tasks to receive Sinnoh Stones, and Incense that is activated during the event will last for three hours.
In addition, Budew will have the chance to hatch from 2 km Eggs that are collected during this event, and Eggs will hatch after walking only 1/4 of the normal required distance, so long as theyre placed into Incubators during the Community Day period.
Finally, in a news post, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, said players can take Go Snapshots during the Community Day festivities for a surprise.
There will be two ways to spend real money related to Februarys Community Day event. To start, players will have the option to spend 1,280 PokeCoins on a Roselia Community Day Box containing four Incense, four Super Incubators, 30 Ultra Balls, and an Elite Fast TM.
Is Roselia Community Day Box Worth It
Here are the contents of the Roselia CD box, which should appear in the in-game store when the event starts in your time zone.

- 30x Ultra Ball

Shiny: Youre looking, appropriately enough, at the roses here. The shiny features a striking pair of purple and deep black flowers, and its basically the same when you evolve it to Roserade, with most of the coloring staying intact save the shift on the roses.
The Moves: See the s there? Not a typo! Two moves this time around: the fast attack bullet seed and the Fire-type charged attack Weather Ball. The second is the more interesting one: a coverage move, probably best paired with a traditional Grass-type move to make sure you can still use Roserade as a powerful pure Grass-type.
The Bonus: Pretty straightforward here: 1/4 hatch distance for eggs placed into incubators during the event. A solid bonus, but always an expensive one if you want to take full advantage of it. Weve also got the standard 3-hour incense.
Pokmon Storage And Item Bag Cap Increase
To help you prepare for the biggest Community Day event of the year, the maximum amount that the Pokémon storage and Item Bag can be expanded to will be increased! Be sure to purchase Item Bag and Pokémon Storage expansions from the shop so you can stock up on Poké Balls and store all the Pokémon youll catch during December Community Day!
- Pokémon Storage Expansion Cap: 5,000 -> 5,500
- Item Bag Expansion Cap: 4,000 -> 4,500
This change will go into effect on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. PST .

What Didn’t Work In This Pokmon Go Event
- The Charged Attack is useless: Giving Roserade a Fire-type Charged Attack makes no sense. While I initially wondered if it would give Roselia coverage, the only situation in which Roselia benefits with this move is if it’s facing another Grass-type Pokémon which it can already generally defeat with its Poison-type attacks and just, in general, being an elite Grass hitter. Off-type moves can work as, for example, Magmar with its Electric-type Community Day move was given coverage against Water-types. Roserade with a Fire-type move adds a bit of quirk and nothing else.
- Roselia, to an extent: Listen, I love Roselia. Was it cute seeing it all over the place? It sure was. Community Day used to focus on the Shiny release of Starter Pokémon and rare spawns, giving them meta-shaking moves. Roselia is a far better Community Day choice than Magikarp, Machop, and other species chosen of late but it still lacks the hype of pre-2020 Community Days.
- Hatching eggs: It’s winter. There’s snow for many players. The current event already gave 1/2 Hatch distance. It seems like a Stardust, XP, or even Candy XL bonus would’ve been a better option.
What Worked In This Pokmon Go Event
- The spawns were fixed: Last month, Niantic tried something out with Machop Community Day that did not work. They completely nerfed non-event spawns, with some trainers reporting that they saw one non-Machop spawn throughout the entire event. Things were back to normal this time, with a mixture of Roselia and other, standard spawns. This is much preferable, because it gives those who aren’t interested in this event something else to do.
- Two moves: This is the first time we have seen a Pokémon get two exclusive Community Day moves in one day. While the moves weren’t great , this sets a good precedent going forward.
- The ticketed research: This was also back to normal after last month’s Machop research nerfed the rewards.

The event takes place on December 18 and December 19. Naturally, there are field research tasks for you to complete, as well as timed research. Then theres the special research story. Tickets for this event are going on sale soon, and cost $1.

The Roselia Community Day 2021 for Pokémon Go starts at the local time of 11:00 on February 7th.
While the Roselia Community Day 2021 starts at the above hour, it will then finish for Pokémon Go players at 17:00 local time on the same day.

How To Get Shiny Roselia
As with all previous Community Day events in Pokémon GO, Roselia will be available with boosted shiny odds during Community Day. While they have been available before, this is your best chance to catch one, or hatch a shiny Budew from special 2km eggs. The only real way to increase your chances of getting shiny Roselia is to encounter as many as possible. Check all the ones you see in the wild, use an Incense, hatch all the 2km eggs you get during the event, and complete all the research thats available to you. Do all of this and youll likely end up with plenty of shiny Roselia, Budew, and Roserade.

Pokmon Go December 2021 Community Day Bonuses
There are a number of different bonuses that will be live during the event hours. These are as follows:
Incense will last for three hours Lure Modules will last for three hours Eggs placed in Incubators with hatch in ½ the time Catch XP will be doubled Catch Stardust will be doubled
As an extra bonus, from 1pm on Friday 17th December until 11.59pm local time on Sunday 19th December, you will also be able to do one extra special trade every day, and each trade you do will cost 25% less stardust. Special trades are used for Pokémon not in your Pokédex, or for Legendary or Shiny forms, so this will offer you the chance to do six over the weekend instead of the usual three. A great chance to fill your Pokédex up a bit, or grab that shiny Pokémon off a friend.
