How This List Is Calculated

Pokémon Type Chart: Strengths & Weaknesses

The Pokemon on this page are listed by type in descending order of power. The metric used to decide their placement is DPS^3*TDO.;This metric puts a heavy emphasis on DPS, but also takes into consideration TDO in order to attempt to discover the strongest overall performance of a given Pokemon when compared to others. Because of the way that this metric works,;the Pokemon here are not always ordered according to which has the highest DPS.;It’s entirely possible that the highest DPS option may show up 2nd or 3rd within a type if its bulk is low enough. It’s also possible that Pokemon not listed on this page could potentially find niche utility in future raids,;but rest assured that the Pokemon near the top of these lists are exemplary candidates for their given types.

If you’d like to see how these Pokemon rank yourself, we recommend that you take a look at the;DPS/TDO Spreadsheet,;which is what we’ve used to make these calculations.

What Is A Type Chart

Which Pokemon is strong against all Pokemon types?

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon assigns types to both moves and Pokémon. Having a type chart allows a player to effectively influence the damage dealt by their Pokémon or received from another Pokémon by comparing the strengths and resistances each type offers. Players can gain an edge in battle if they are familiar with how the different types interact with each other.

  • Green means damage dealt is doubled
  • Black means no damage is dealt
  • Red means damage is reduced to half

If a Pokémon has two types, the strengths and weaknesses of both types will be used in calculating damage dealt and received. If a Pokémons types both share the same weakness, the Pokémon will receive four times damage as a result. For example, Bug-types and Steel-types are both weak to Fire-type moves, and thereby each will take 2x damage from them. If a Pokémon is both Bug-type and Steel-type, it will take 4x the damage from a Fire-type move.

The same applies to resistances. If a;Pokémon were both a Fire-type and Water-type, the damage received from a Fire-type move would be reduced to 1/4x. Lastly, type strengths and weaknesses cancel each other out. For example, a Bug-type;Pokémon would take half damage from a Fighting-type move, but Steel-types take 2x damage from;Fighting-type attacks. A;Bug-type and Steel-type;Pokémon would, as a result, take normal damage from a Fighting-type attack.

We created a table chart showing all Pokémon’s types, which types they strike hard, and which types strike them. Plus, we also added resistances, because some types take less damage from others and Dr. Oak forgot to tell you. Below the chart, there’s an explanation about single and double-type Pokémon and how attacks behave in these situations.

Pokemon Sword & Shield Type Chart: Strengths Weaknesses And Resistances Listed

There are 18 Pokemon types in all: Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Flying, Fighting, Poison, Electric, Ground, Rock, Psychic, Ice, Bug, Ghost, Steel, Dragon, Dark and Fairy. Here’s a full type chart showing how they all interact. Here’s how to use the chart:

  • If you’re attacking, work from your type on the left to the enemy type on the top. If defending, do the opposite – find your type on the top and work left to the attacker list.
  • A 1x indicates an attack will do standard damage based on your Pokemon and the move’s stats.
  • A 2x indicates a Super-effective move – it’ll do double the normal amount of damage.
  • A 0.5 indicates a Not very effective move – it’ll do half the normal amount of damage.
  • A 0 indicates a Not effective move, which won’t do any damage at all.

If you prefer your strengths and weaknesses to be written out a little more in black-and-white, here they are by Pokemon type. In this table…

  • The Super Effective Vs. column shows what the type on the left is effective against in battle.
  • The Not Very Effective Vs. column reveals the types the attacking type will do less damage to. Immunities are also listed here – they’re always last, and are denoted by brackets.
  • The Resist Damage column shows you what moves won’t be very effective against the Pokemon type on the left when it is defending.
  • The Weak Vs. column reveals what types the type listed on the left will suffer super effective moves when attacked by their moves.

All Gen 7 Starters Evolution Type Swap Fanart | Pokemon Type Swap #52

I recently started playing Pokémon again – Pokémon Lets Go Eevee on the Nintendo Switch to be specific. In the classic Pokémon games, you have a team of 6 Pokémon that you use to battle against other trainers. In battles, type match-ups are very important, as some types of moves are super effective against other types. For example, fire moves are super effective against grass Pokémon, which means they do double the damage they normally would. If you can set your team up so that youre always optimally matched, youre going to have a much easier time.

But there are 18 types and you only get 6 Pokémon on your team. This leads to the question – what are the combinations of 6 types that make you super effective against the most types of Pokémon?1 It turns out this is a question a lot of people have asked.

I knew there was a chart out there that matches up every attacking type against every defending and tells you whether theyre super effective, normal, not very effective, or doesnt have any effect. So I decided to use my R skills to answer this question . Along the way, well do a quick exploratory analysis, learn about combinatorials, and leave the tidyverse to use matrices and some base functions.

Pokmon Go Gen 8 Pokmon List

While the majority of Gen 8 evolutions in Pokémon Go will, like previous generations such as Gen 6, require a specific amount of candy, this generation is known for having a number of unique evolution methods.

We’ve already seen some of these methods with the exclusive Galarian form evolutions; while some, such as Galarian Slowpoke, simply require candy, others involve fulfilling a specific requirement, such as winning 10 raids with Galarian Yamask as your buddy to evolve it into Runerigus.

It’s also important to note that a non-Galarian version of a Pokémon will not have the option to evolve into the specific Galarian evolution. This means, for example, you can’t evolve a Kanto Meowth into a Perrserker.

Aside from the Galarian forms, Pokémon like Applin or Sinistea require you to use specific items in Pokémon Sword and Shield to trigger their evolution. In Pokémon Go, this could be translated into the use of a stone, similar to the Sinnoh or Unova Stones, the trading mechanic or, possibly, a brand new mechanic. We’ll have to wait and see!

While Gen 8 will be releasing the majority of its Pokémon in stages, similar to the past generations like Gen 5 and Gen 6, a number of creatures, such as Sirfetch’d and Runerigus, are already in Pokémon Go.

These Pokémon are obtained by evolving the Galarian forms of Pokémon from past generations – Galarian Meowth, for example, evolves into Perrserker – so, if you wish to add them to your Pokédex, you must obtain that specific Galarian form first.

What We Know About The Gen 8 Pokmon

Originating from the Galar regions, which was inspired by the British Isle, Gen 8 originally introduced 80 and, upon the release of the DLCs for Pokémon Sword and Shield – The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra – this was increased to 89 Pokémon. This collection includes new legendaries, the three starter Pokémon and Galar variants.

Below you can find some interesting facts which help make Gen 8 unique amongst the other Pokémon generations:

  • Gen 8 introduces a number of unique evolution methods – from spinning your avatar to evolve a Milcery into Alcremie to activating Sinistea’s evolution by giving it a special pot.
  • With 70 different options, Alcremie currently has the most forms out of any Pokémon in the National Pokédex.
  • Gen 8 is the first appearance of the Dynamax ability and Gigantamax Pokémon, which change their appearance upon Dynamaxing.
  • Like Gen 7’s Alolan Pokémon, Gen 8 introduces the Galar variants for a number of Pokémon from past generations. Some of these Galarian Pokémon take inspiration from the British Isle, such as Galarian Weezing referencing the Industrial Revolution to Galarian Rapidash resembling a unicorn, which is Scotland’s national animal.
  • Unlike the Alolan variants, a number of the Galarian variants evolve exclusively into new Gen 8 Pokémon. You can only obtain an Obstagoon, for example, by evolving a Galarian Linoone.
