Gengar Have Appeared Throughout The Anime

Toxic Orb Location In Pokemon Sword & Shield (The Isle Of Armor DLC)

There have been many Gengar featured throughout the 20 seasons of the anime. Exactly 10 more than the number of seasons of the anime made, meaning every season averaged 1 and a half Gengar each season. This isn’t just individual appearances but separate Gengar altogether, making you think that Gengar are actually quite common to find in the anime Pokémon world compared to the Pokémon games where it is nearly impossible to get, either that or trainers in the Pokémon world are trade obsessed enough to keep evolving Haunter.

Gyarados Base Stats Total: 540

HP: 95 Special Defence: 100 Speed: 81

A favourite since Generation I, the great beast that comes from the flopping fish Magikarp remains one of the strongest Pokémon in this new generation. Gyarados water-flying typing with access to powerful dark, dragon, ice, water, and flying moves makes it a grand selection for your best team.

The key to Gyarados is avoiding electric-type moves while enforcing powerful physical attacks to utilise the 125 attack base stat line. Optimum moves to learn include Aqua Tail , Crunch , Ice Fang , and Thrash if used in tandem with Substitute as Pokémon behind a substitute cannot get confused.

Magikarp can be caught at many fishing holes in Pokémon Sword and Shield including the one down the left side of Professor Magnolias house on Route 2. Gyarados can also be seen swimming around the Wild Area, specifically in Bridge Field and Dusty Bowl.

Where To Find Black Sludge In Pokmon Sword And Shield

Black Sludge is a unique item, which increases the healing effects of a Poison-type Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Shield. If you have a specific Poison-type Pokémon you regularly use in the game, its an excellent time to make sure they have this item whenever they rush off into combat.

To find this item, you need to reach the end of the game. You need to make sure you have all eight of the Gym leader badges in your inventory, and youve reached the Battle Tower. You dont need to defeat the Battle Tower to acquire it, but its nearby the large establishment.

When youre in Wyndon city, start at the Pokémon Center and go to the left, and down the straight towards the Battle Tower. Proceed down the street until you reach the bridge. Make sure you dont cross it. Before you cross the bridge, go to the right pathway

You should see a small flight of stairs on the right pathway, and if you go down them, you dont have to go much further. After a few paces, you should see a distinct sparkle overtop that looks like a sewer drain. Approach it, and you should find Black Sludge.

You want to make sure you give it to a Poison-type Pokémon because if you dont, and they only have Poison attacks, they start losing health during combat.

Hatterene Base Stats Total: 510

HP: 57 Special Defence: 103 Speed: 29

Hatterene may be low in HP and absurdly low in speed, but with the right move set, its 90 attack, 95 defence, 136 special attack, and 103 special defence more than make up for these frailties.

Hatterene boasts lofty base defence and special defence stats and only poison, ghost, and steel moves are super effective against the psychic-fairy type Pokémon. The fact that dragon-type moves dont affect Hatterene is also very useful given the popularity of dragon-type Pokémon.

So, Hatterene can eat up an attack or two, especially with the right berry equipped Sitrus Berry restores half of the Pokémons maximum HP when its HP falls to below 25 per cent. Use TM70 Trick Room as it allows slower Pokémon to move first for the next five turns. After that, make full use of Hatterenes mighty 136 special attack.

Hatterene can be found roaming around the Lake of Outrage during heavy fog, by the cliff edge that overlooks the lake. But if you need to fill the Pokedex, you can find Hatenna in any weather at Motostoke Outskirts in the Wild Area, or Hattrem in Glimwood Tangle.

Pokmon Sword And Shield Tms Explained: What Are Technical Machines And How Do They Work

How & Where to Get ALL TMs in Pokémon Sword and Shield â All TM Locations in Sword and Shield

If you’re new to Pokémon – or returning for the first time in a while – there are a few basics to bear in mind with TMs. Here’s a quick rundown of other useful things to know:

  • You can use TMs as many times as you like – unlike the originals, TMs are no longer one-time-use items. Use them on as many Pokémon as you see fit! TRs, however, are different – and can only be used once.
  • The same Pokémon can use the same TM again if you delete the move – it can’t learn two of the same move of course, but say your Pokémon forgot the Thunder Wave you taught it, you can just use the TM again if you change your mind and want it back.
  • There are no HMs – these hard-to-unlearn versions of TMs are no longer in the game, and are instead replaced in Sword and Shield by the ability to ride your Rotom Bike on water , or call a Flying Taxi.
  • Not every Pokémon can use every TM – this is a basic one that most people will know, but note that just because you have the Breaking Swipe TM, for instance, that doesn’t mean your Pikachu can learn it!
  • TMs, as well as TRs, are one of the best things you can do to make your Pokémon stronger – Use your TMs! They can transform your run-of-the-mill Pokémon into competitively viable ones by giving them better type coverage or more utility , and can give access to strong moves much earlier than Pokémon would learn them themselves, too.

Don’t Miss: What Does Steelix Evolve Into

It’s Known For Stealing People To The After Life

Like many ghost Pokémon, it’s known for separating people’s souls to use them as friends. Other times it can be out of spite or apart of a practical joke which Gengar is known for commonly being, such as with the case of Ash’s first death. While it’s different from outright killing people and harvesting their souls like it’s also known for, it could be another possibility towards disappeared people based around Gengar.

Ditto Base Stats Total: 288

HP: 48 Special Defence: 48 Speed: 48

Ditto is on this list of the strongest Pokémon to use in the best team on Pokémon Sword and Shield purely for its ability to counter Dynamaxing. Facing a Dynamax Pokémon in a battle can be a menacing task, especially if your type doesnt match up well against the gigantic monster.

So, many trainers in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have turned to counter a Dynamax by bringing out Ditto and transforming it into that same Pokémon. Its an effective play that neutralises the power of a Dynamaxed or even a Gigantamaxed Pokemon.

You can find Ditto wiggling around the Lake of Outrage in the Wild Area in any weather conditions. You likely wont see it when approaching the grass, but youll probably run your bike over one before catching it and making it breed with your other Pokémon.

How To Build The Best Team In Pokmon Sword And Shield

To build the best team, youll want to pick some from the list of the strongest Pokémon to make-up your selected six. Some rules to follow, though, are that youll want to cover several Pokémon types, know what types are super effective against others, and have a strategy.

Many trainers like to go for teams of Pokémon where theyre all strong physical attackers, others prefer defensive and slow-burning Pokémon, and barrier-centric teams often become quite popular. Your team will come down to your preference of Pokémon and how you want to battle.

To make use of the strongest Pokémon while having quite a well-balanced team of defensive, offensive, and counter Pokémon. To start with, this is the best team in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

This steel-ghost Pokémon has been a favourite among trainers for some time and was even banned from online competitions in previous games.

Aegislash is said to have been made a bit fairer now, but theres no denying its tremendous base stat lines of 150 attack and 150 special attack when in its Blade Forme and 150 defence and 150 special defence when in its Shield Forme activated by using the move Kings Shield.

The mighty Pokémons first form, Honedge, can be found in Hammerlocke Hills in the Wild Area when theres heavy fog. The second form in the evolution of Aegislash, Doublade, can be seen wandering the Wild Area location of Giants Cap in any weather conditions bar heavy fog.

Or, of course, you could just catch Aegislash, which is found in the overworld of Giants Cap during heavy fog.

Corviknight Base Stats Total: 495

HP: 98 Special Defence: 85 Speed: 67

Not only is this one of the great new British-themed Pokémon in the game, but Corviknight is also a bulky defensive selection while also boasting a decent base attack stat line of 87.

While the abilities Pressure and Unnerve can come in handy, its hidden ability, Mirror Armour, reflects any stat-lowering effects, making Corviknight even better to have on your best team.

The flying-steel type Pokémon learns great moves like Brave Bird, Steel Wing, and Drill Peck. Corviknight can also be taught the much-loved U-turn and Body Press, with which the higher the users defence, the stronger the attack becomes.

Corviknights first form, Rookidee, can be encountered from the start of the game, on Route 1, Route 2, and Route 3. Corvisquire, which evolves from Rookidee at level 18, can be seen in the overworld of the Wild Areas Hammerlocke Hills and Giants Mirror in all weather types.

Corviknight itself can be found in random encounters along Route 7 and the Slumbering Weald as well as in the overworld of Giants Cap, Hammerlocke Hills, and North Lake Miloch in all weather conditions.
