Generation Iv: Pokmon Platinum
Many fans consider Pokémon Platinum;to be;one of the best games in the Pokémon;franchise, and it’s easy to see why. It not only improves the limited Pokédex from its predecessors, but it also adds extra story elements that make for an entirely different game.
Giratina and the Distortion World are some of the most ambitious storylines the franchise ever tackled. The visuals in the Distortion World were also quite impressive, pushing the boundaries for what the DS could achieve. The addition of Looker, a character that would go on to reappear in several games, and the Battle Frontier made for one of the best post-games in the franchise. And new Pokémon like Gligar, Electivire, and Magmortar gave an extra edge to an already incredible region.
Enciclopedia Pokemon A Generation Iii Save Editor
I tried a couple of different editors, most of which are Japanese in origin, clearly not made for the western region and very poorly translated. The Pokemon Encyclopedia, however, is perfect. It has a nice and simple interface with a bunch of extra features as well, it works, and it does what I need it to do.
The choice of starters was much easier this time there was no choice.
I did what I did with Pokemon Crystal. First, I started a fresh game in Ruby and picked Treecko as my starter, according to the plan. Then, I played through all the way to the point where I was able to freely roam between Littleroot and Oldale town. Then, I googled and found some Pokemon Ruby Gameshark cheats. Most importantly, the one for infinite pokeballs in the first PC slot, and the one which causes Pikachu to be the only Pokemon that appears in the wild.
The code for 99 Pokeballs in PC Slot 1:
The code for making Pikachu appear in the wild:
With that, I had a brand new level 2 Pikachu in my party.
My Pikachus stats in Pokemon Crystal.
Next up, I opened up Pikasav and loaded my Pokemon Crystal save. I took note of Pikachus stats in there. The mechanics change a lot between Generations 2 and 3, so I had to do some calculations.
Pokemon Emerald’s Changes From Ruby And Sapphire
Pokemon Emerald takes all the information from its predecessors and proceeds to set up its own unique story. In Emerald,;both Team Magma and Team Aqua are the culprits. With both their goals of awakening Groudon and Kyogre respectively realized, it falls on the player to awaken the legendary Pokemon Rayquaza to cease the other two Pokemon’s battle. Emerald also makes gameplay changes that are connected to the story and other areas of the game like its post story content. This includes changes like…
Pokemon Emerald also makes some late game changes with the Hoenn Pokedex. Once the player has beaten the Elite Four and entered the Hall of Fame, they will be transported back to the starting town of Littleroot. Here Professor Birch will upgrade the players Pokedex to the National Dex. This upgrade allows the player to trade with any Gen 3 game including Pokemon Fire Red and Pokemon Leaf Green, the remakes of the first generation of Pokemon games. Trading Pokemon becomes necessary to complete the National Dex and receive a reward from Professor Birch. After the National Dex is complete, Professor Birch will offer players a choice of Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile, which many fans will know as the three starter Pokemon from Generation 2’s;Gold, Silver, and Crystal.

Pokemon’s Sixth And Seventh Generation
The 6th generation of Pokemon‘s main series games debuted with;Pokemon X and;Y;and later remakes;Pokemon Omega Ruby and;Alpha Sapphire.;Gen 6;introduced a new Pokemon Type, the first time since gen 2, the Fairy type. The games were now in complete 3D thanks to the power of the Nintendo 3DS and made numerous improvements to the gameplay;once again. This came in the form of Mega Evolution, 8-directional movement, Horde Encounters, Super Training, Player Customization, and more. Old features such as the Pokemon Contest and Secret Hideouts returned with;Pokemon Omega Ruby;and;Alpha Sapphire along with the new DexNav.
As the generations continued onwards, the stories told with each new;Pokemon game became more and more involved culminating in a heavily narrated 7th generation with;Pokemon Sun and;Moon. This generation introduced new gameplay mechanics such as Z-Moves, Alolan forms for various Pokemon, SOS Battles, Poke-Rides, the Festival Plaza, Hyper Training, and many more.
Though with many unique features added, there were also some series;staples;that were altered or simply removed. Many of those removed;were;core features such as the Gym Leader challenge, HMs, National Pokedex, and the PC Hall of Fame.;Pokemon Ultra Sun and;Ultra Moon were updated versions of their originals.
Strong Gen 3 Pokemon That Break The Game
The 3rd generation of Pokemon features some crazy strong creatures! Here are 20 that broke the game and 10 that are just awful.
The introduction to the Pokemon franchise, for many people, began in Gen 3 with Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. With an exciting new region on new hardware featuring so many new creatures, there was a lot of buzz about these games, and it led to them becoming some of the best-selling games on the Game Boy Advance.

While this generation contained several of the most beloved Pokemon of the series, not all of them were equally useful. Many of these species are still considered the best Gen 3 Pokemon and continued to be the best Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire options, while others have remained pointless in every game they appear in.
With so much time having passed the original Hoenn games, we’ve seen tons of Gen 3 Pokemon remain just as powerful in Pokemon Sword & Shield, and many differ from the between the best Pokemon in Ruby, Sapphire, & Emerald compared to the best Pokemon in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. There are several that can demolish opponents in your Galar adventures, but only a few can crush your opponents especially well in the original and remade Hoenn games.

About Pokmon Ruby Version
Referring to the Pokemon game series, perhaps many people will immediately think of the Gameboy or Gameboy Color system from the time they were popular, with the Pokemon Silver version and the classic black and white Pokemon Gold. However, few people know that the new Gameboy Advance is the system that brings this series of games to a new level with the set of 3 names: Pokemon Ruby, Saphire and Emerald. Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Saphire were released by Nintendo and Gamefreak worldwide in 2003.
There is no denying the fact that after the third generation , the quality of this legendary series gradually goes down when the gameplay has not much innovation, and the plot of the latter version is much worse than the first, second and third generations.
The Missingno Of Hoenn
One of the most notorious secrets from the first generation of;Pokémon;games was Missingno. It was possible to create a;Pokémon that should not exist. If you forced the game to load a wild;Pokémon in an area where it had no data, then a Missingno was created. Missingno stands for Missing Number. The game cannot load a;Pokémon from its designated number, so it will create one from assets within the data.
When it came to making the later;Pokémon;games, Game Freak made sure that the players could not create anything similar to Missingno again. In;Pokémon Ruby;&;Sapphire,;there is a creature called ?????????? that is similar to Missingno. It is created when the game loads a;Pokémon without any relevant data . ?????????? will appear on the field as a question mark within a black circle. It is possible to catch one of these creatures , but it will not have the amazing utility that Missingno had .

Generation Iii: Pokmon Emerald
Ruby;and;Sapphire each have their strengths and weaknesses. Team Aqua and Team Magma are equally lame, but Kyogre and Groudon are among the best Legendaries ever created. Still,;Emerald combines the best parts of both games and becomes the superior version.
Rayquaza is, arguably, Generation III’s most beloved Pokémon. Both evil teams participate in;Emerald‘s plot, and more Pokémon become available. The new Champion, Wallace, isn’t as good as Steven, but the Battle Frontier almost single-handedly makes the game better.

Generation Vi: Pokmon X
In Gen VI, it was all about the Fairy. The newly-introduced character made a splash almost immediately by severely nerfing the almighty Dragons that ruled the previous five generations. With Fairy’s arrival, the competitive landscape changed, and the franchise received its most considerable twist since the introduction of Steel and Dark four generations before.
Considering this, it’s weird that the developers chose to only give the new type to one of Kalos’ Legendary Pokémon. Alas, only Xerneas received the Fairy-type, and the intriguing yet underwhelming Yveltal got stuck with a boring Dark/Flying-type. Fairy/Dark would’ve been an ideal combo, especially if Xerneas got Fairy/Psychic. It didn’t happen, and;Pokémon X remains the best Gen VI game.

Weak: Armaldo & Cradily
Its extremely rare that any Fossil Pokemon is good, but Pokemon Ruby & Sapphires pair of fossils may be some of the worst in series history. Armaldo is especially tragic, as this unique Rock and Bug-type had more weaknesses than most other Pokemon and very few worthwhile moves to make up for this vulnerability.
Cradily was only slightly better, but being Rock and Grass-type meant it shared most of the same weaknesses. It managed to be slightly more relevant in competitive play in recent games thanks to interesting hidden abilities and new moves, but both of these similar Pokemon ended up being too slow and unimpactful compared to any other Pokemon of the same type in all of Hoenn.
Pokmon Diamond & Pearl
The HM lineup was changed once more in;Pokémon Diamond & Pearl,;as Defog was added , while Rock Climb was added as HM 08.;The Sinnoh region pulls a similar trick to the Hoenn region, as;Pokémon Diamond & Pearl;provide the player with a great HM mule at the start of the game. The player can catch a Bidoof on nearly every route at the start of the game. Bidoof evolves into Bibarel, which can use Cut, Rock Climb, Rock Smash, and Surf. For the Water-type HMs, a Buizel can be caught on Route 5. This can evolve into Floatzel at level 26, and it can learn Surf, Rock Smash, Strength, Waterfall.

Pokemon’s First And Second Generation
Even in Pokemon‘s early days, it was immensely popular, with many schools;forced to ban the toys, video games, and trading cards, much like Pogs and Marbles before it. The games had many features unique to the series at the time, including catching and taming monsters, with the goal being to catch them all. Players were encouraged to trade with their friends so that they could finish this task of collecting all of the Pokemon and filling up the Pokemon Encyclopedia. Though this wasn’t the only goal for a lot of players, being able to interact and show off their prized Pokemon with their friends was a big deal.
Pokemon Red,Green, Blue, Yellow, Gold,;Silver,;and;Crystalencompassed the mainline Pokemon games in the first two generations of Pokemon. There were many spinoff titles such as;Pokemon Stadium, Hey you, Pikachu!,;Pokemon Puzzle League and more in other genres, though it was the core mainline series that fans seemed to gravitate towards the most. This is because the core series emulated what it was like to be someone in a Pokemon world;with options of collecting, battling, and going through the story. The first two generations of Pokemon seemed to have experimented a lot with its spinoff titles which would be a trend carried through to today with varying degrees of success.

The Dreaded Berry Glitch
One of the scourges of modern gaming is a poorly optimised release. This was always a problem for the PC gaming community, but it didn’t become a big thing for console games until the past few years. Due to the recent ability for players to download patches for games after release, some developers have gotten lazy during the bug testing phase. Companies like Bethesda and Ubisoft have no problem with releasing a game before it is ready in order to meet a deadline.
Nintendo is one of the companies that take pride in their games. They didn’t even include the ability to patch their games until the Nintendo 3DS! The only real exception to this are the first;Pokémon;games, which were bug-riddled messes. That all changed with;Pokémon Gold;&;Silver and the games have reflected Nintendo’s high level of quality control ever since.
Pokémon Ruby;&;Sapphire;did actually have one major bug that affected gameplay. After a year has passed, the internal calendar won’t work anymore. This stops time sensitive events from occurring, the most notable of which is the fact that berries will no longer grow. This bug was referred to as the “Berry Glitch” and later versions of the game fixed it. It was actually possible to patch the game with the aid of later;Pokémon;titles. This usually meant connecting your Game Boy Advance to another system through the use of a Link Cable.
Generation 1 Pokmon Games
The following games are the first out for the franchise and they were all released for the original Game Boy. One side note here is that Green was only available in Japan although many have been able to get their hands on the game over the years. Another thing to note is that, unless youre a true completionist, you only really need to play one game from each generation. These are your options to start off with:
