Soaring Storm has some crazy good utility cards that allow you to draw more cards, and even search for specific Pokemon.
Your ideal game would start with Alolan Grimer as your first Pokemon. Grimer has a 0-Energy attack that allows you to draw two cards a move that requires at least one Energy for any of the other meta decks.
Alolan Grimer might feel like a clunky one because of his 2-Energy retreat cost, but Soaring Storm gives you several opportunities to switch Pokemon. One of the best ones is using Dragonites ability to charge up Grimer, retreat, and switch to another Pokemon which is ready to attack.
The Pidgey line is quick and easy to set up. While you do have Pidgeot as a Stage 2 evolution, I recommend never getting there. Pidgeottos Air Mail ability allows you to draw an extra card every turn, and that isnt worth losing. The only time I really use Pidgeot is to fetch something else using Pokemon Communication, or to get hit by Thundurus Raging Thunder without giving away a Prize card.
When drawing cards with Pidgeotto, make sure you use a drawing Trainer Card first. If youre going to use Cynthia or Hau, doing that before using Pidgeottos ability allows you to have more opportunities to find the exact card youre looking for.

Soaring Storm Is The Perfect Theme Deck
Soaring Storm is that one guy whose friends spend hours in the gym, while he uses the free equipment in the park and comes out looking just as good. With a Fire, Water, and Grass triangle being a big part of the Pokemon TCG Online meta, Soaring Storm is the fourth S-Tier Theme deck. Soaring Storm doesnt have a Type-advantage against any of these decks, and still manages to be super strong.
Its just as good as Relentless Flame. It hits hard, sets up pretty fast, has incredible synergy and drawing power, and goes a step beyond Relentless Flame in having no real hard counters in the meta. It also has the speed and quick draw power of Unseen Depths, and youll often end up having over ten cards in your hand late-game.
Soaring Storm can be purchased from the in-game shop for 500 Coins. The deck is incredible for Theme Tournaments, where none of the meta decks are super-effective against it.

How To Play This Deck:
- Depending on the type matchups, bench either Thundurus or Tornadus and let the other one be active. Either of them will be your main attacker. The reason you should bench one of them is that benching Thundurus or Tornadus while the other is active increases their attack. Thundurus or Tornadus will be your main combatants, as your other mons act as support.
- Alternatively, you can use Dragonite as your main attacker. Dragonite is bulky, with attacks that can easily OHKO your enemys Pokemon.
- Send out your Alolan Grimer so you can withdraw two cards for free.
