Pokemon Sword And Shield Buries Some Deep Sometimes Dark Lore In Its Trading Cards
Hold up y’all, I think that Ghost-type kid is a zombie.

There are currently two types of people populating the planet: Those who believe the story for Pokemon Sword and Shield is seriously lacking compared to Sun and Moon, and those who refuse to believe anyone plays a Pokemon game for its story.
Some Pokemon fans do indeed enjoy the games’ storiesYours Truly included. I don’t expect Pokemon’s narrative to engage me with the same depth as a Final Fantasy game, but the Pokemon series is almost always willing to tell an interesting story to anyone who’ll listen. Pokemon takes place in a universe where sentient animals are at the beck and call of the human trainers who “own” them if you don’t think the games’ stories don’t suggest “Hey, isn’t that kind of weird?” once in a while, you’re mistaken.
Galar is sport-crazy, so it makes sense that Gym leaders all have their own set of trading cards. Each one has a photo on the front, and some biographical information on the back. Some of this information is pretty personal I don’t know who wrote it, or why the leaders are OK with it being in public circulation. Either way, it’s PokeFans’ gain. This is the stuff I enjoy most in RPGs.

Allister Is The Internet’s New Favorite Gym Leader In ‘pokmon Sword And Shield’
Move over Nessa, there’s a new favorite Gym Leader in the Galar region.
A new trainer was revealed in the July 8 Pokémon Sword and Shield trailer, and now the internet is in love with Allister the Ghost-type expert.
The diminutive trainer is dressed in black and purple, but his defining feature is the white skeleton mask that he wears to cover his face. According to the official description of Allister from the Sword and Shield site, he wears a mask because he’s overly shy.
Read the description below.
Allister is a talented Trainer of Ghost-type Pokémon who has taken on the mantle of the Ghost-type Gym Leader at a young age. He’s extremely shy and fearful, and he always hides his face with a mask when around other people. He rarely makes public appearances and apparently spends most of his time around ruins or in cemeteries.
In the trailer, Allister was revealed alongside Bea the Fighting-type Gym Leader. Bea wasn’t shown with any Pokémon, however Allister was seen sending out his Mimikyu, the Ghost and Fairy-type Pokémon from the Alola region.
It’s highly unlikely that Mimikyu will be Allister’s only Pokémon when you face off against him. According to Serebii, the only Ghost-type Pokémon found in the Galar Pokedex – as of July 8 – are the Gengar line, Dusknoir line, Froslass, Drifblim line, Golurk line, Gourgeist line, Jellicent line, and Mimikyu.
Take a look at some of our favorites below.

Her Battle Number Is 049
Every challenger within the Pokémon world in generation 8 has a certain number and Nessas happens to be 049. Fans can learn this by looking at the back of her clothing and it is an interesting tidbit that is not well known throughout the community.
Her number actually means the To swim in Japanese which makes it fit well compared to some of the other numbers within Sword and Shield. This fact about the fan-favorite gym leader is a great thing to know and now fans do.
Recommended Counters For Allister
Allisters ghost-types are weak against ghost- and dark-type Pokémon, but most of them have double typing, making it a bit harder to pick a compatible weakness for all of them. They all keep their ghost-type resistance, but using ghost-types also makes you susceptible to getting hit with super effective moves. Also remember that normal- and fighting-type moves will not deal any damage to Allisters Pokémon, but normal-types also wont receive damage from ghost-type moves.
Here are some good Pokémon to catch and evolve for this gym, as well as the easiest places to find them:

She Can Dynamax Both Of Her Drednaws
Nessas Drednaws can actually Gigantamax! Its cool that she has another form for her awesome Pokémon and it is one of the strongest creatures on her entire team for this reason. Its also neat that Nessa has two Gignatamax Drewdnaws of different genders, how awesome!
Fans that never managed to defeat her within the games may not know this and it is quite easy to forget for seasoned players because she is an early gym leader in the game and as previously mentioned its easy to miss the gender differences in her two Drednaws. It is also quite rare for trainers to have a Gigantamax Pokémon let alone two so this definitely earns a spot on this list.
Can U Catch Zacian
Youll need to defeat Leon in the Champion Cup and become the new Champion of the Galar region before you can catch Zacian and Zamazenta. At this point, youll want to go to Hammerlocke Stadium, where you can encounter either Zacian or Zamazenta on top of the Energy Plant where you first battled Eternatus.

What Does Allister Look Like Without His Mask On In Pokmon Sword And Shield
Ghost boy’s face reveal time.
For those of you with Pokémon Shield, around the time you visit the fourth Gym Challenge, youll be greeted by an exclusive gym leader named Allister.
The Ghost-type gym leader is always seen wearing a spooky-looking mask no matter where he goes, which has led a lot of fans to speculate about what he might look like under the hood.
But theres actually a way to find out what he looks like under the mask in-game once you get to a certain point.
Honestly, Allister looks a little younger then we were expected, almost like a young boy or schoolboy trainer that youd see in the Routes or Wild Area.
You unlock this exclusive trainer card through the postgame story when trying to capture Zamazenta. Anyone with Pokémon Sword, however, cant unlock this card since they never fight Allister.
Is Misty Older Than Ash
Misty is one companion thats older. Shes actually 13 compared to his 10. This probably explains why shes slightly taller than Ash in the early seasons of the anime. At least shes 13 in The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga, a loose retelling of the anime.

E3 2021 takes place June 12-15 as a re-imagined, all-virtual online event. Nintendo, Xbox, Bethesda, Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, Capcom, and others will deliver new video game announcements, trailers, release dates, and more.
Look, Ive never so ready to end a 22-year-old relationship with a character that I grew up with, but Misty, it is time to step aside. Nessa is the new all-time master of water-type Pokémon.
Nessa is the second gym leader announced for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. E3 attendees will be able to battle her as part of the show floor demo. So far, all we know about her Pokémon lineup is that she will battle with a Dynamax Drednaw. We dont know if she is the second gym leader that well battle in-game.
Her character design is fire, or uh, I mean, water. She rocks perfectly applied eyeliner and purple eye shadow. Im obsessed with her hoop earrings and she dons a Poké-inspired swimsuit fit for an athlete. Also, she has floaties on her sandals? OK. Nessa also has fans excited because she is also among a growing list of Pokémon Sword and Shield character cast that are dark-skinned . This is important given that many Pokémon characters are often white.
And Im not the only one getting excited at her announcement. The internet is freaking out about her as well.
WE HAVE DECIDED TO STAN NESSA FOREVER
Have A Pokemon Who Can Handle Gengar’s Attacks
If your Pokemon’s levels are low coming in to the fight, put in a Pokemon who can withstand Gengar’s Dynamax attacks. If one of your Pokemon can withstand 3 attacks from Gengar’s Dynamax form, it will return to its normal form and become easier to handle for the rest of the battle.
Stock up on Revives, Super Potions, and X Special Defend
Allister’s Pokemon deal heavy damage, so have these items along as insurance to help make it through the fight. X Special Defend can also be handy for your lead Pokemon to help them weather special attacks.
