How To Catch Electric Pokemon In Pokemon Go

Pokemon GO – HOW TO FIND ALL RARE POKEMON!

Electric-type Pokemon like Pikachu can be found in only one particular type of area in Pokemon Go: areas the game regards as ‘industrial’. The best place to search for these, then, are industrial parks, schools and college campuses, and other dry places that are largely concreted over.

There’s 9 electric-type Pokemon in the original 151 Pokemon that feature in Pokemon Go, including: Pikachu, Raichu, Magnemite, Magneton, Voltorb, Electrode, Electabuzz, Jolteon and Legendary Zapdos. Remember that some of these are evolution forms, how to obtain Zapdos as a legendary is another question entirely.

8 electric-type Pokemon were added in the Pokemon Go Gen 2 update. That includes: Chinchou, Lanturn, Pichu, Mareep, Flaaffy, Ampharos, Elekid, Raikou.

Pokehunter For Pokmon Go

PokeHunter is one of the Maps and Trackers that runs remarkably well. They offer detailed information on Gyms, including which Team has control at any moment, how many spaces remain in a Gym, and where Raids are happening. It’d be a perfect tool save for one massive downside: it only works for a handful of cities in three US states. If you happen to live or work in one of the following cities, this is a fantastic tool:

  • California
  • Minnesota
  • Oregon

Check Your Internet Connection And / Or Wi

Pokémon GO is much more stable than it was at launch, but it still has plenty of hang-ups. If you can’t find any Pokémon, your connection to the game’s server may be borked. Try restarting your Wi-Fi connection , even if you’re not near a Wi-Fi source. Simply having the Wi-Fi on can ease connectivity issues.

Try rebooting the app, too. Turn it off completely, then start it again. That often clears up a number of bugs and glitches.

Pokemon Go: Where To Find And Catch All Pokemon Types

From parks and golf courses to steams and train stations. Here’s where to catch ’em all.

The ultimate goal of any Pokémon game is always to catch ’em all as the anime’s catchy theme song so gleefully would declare. In Pokemon Go that challenge is upped a little from the Game Boy and Nintendo DS versions of the game. That’s mainly because you have to move around in the real world to catch the creatures, and they appear in different areas of the world. You’re going to have to lace up your kicks and get out there to catch your Pokemon.

But where can you find various types of Pokemon? We’ve done some research and we have you covered.

First, it’s worth making sure you’re up to speed on Pokemon Go. We’ve got a post covering everything you need to know about the game as well as a comprehensive guide that has detail on how to handle things like which Pokemon Trainer Team to join, how to attack and defend gyms, how to hatch eggshow to level up and more. Complete Certain Special Research Missions To Get Legendary Pokemon

Pokemon GO

Raids are by far the best way to get legendaries, but players can occasionally find some elsewhere. Certain special research missions have included a legendary or mythical prize.

Pokemon GO Fest traditionally includes a mythical Pokemon that can be obtained during the event for a price or later in the year for free. 2022 included Shaymin, 2021 offered Hoopa, and so on. Alongside this are other missions that can yield shadow versions of legendaries including the likes of Mewtwoand Lugia.

These events dont happen often and are sometimes missable. Regardless, battling in raids is the fastest and best way to get legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO.

Learn Your Pokemon Types And Battle Advantages

If you’re struggling to beat a Pokemon and you can’t figure out why, it’s probably because of type advantage. This is basically the underlying principle of the whole Pokemon battling world. This is replicated in Pokemon Go, with weather factors also boosting some types over others. There’s also the issue of particular fighting moves that your Pokemon might have.

There are a range of charts available online that you can refer to for the nitty gritty, but here are some basic details of which types are strong against which other types. In the list below, the first named type inflicts increased damage on the second:

  • Bug > Dark, Grass, Psychic
  • Fire > Bug, Grass, Ice, Steel
  • Fighting > Normal, Rock, Steel, Ice Dark
  • Flying > Fighting, Bug, Grass
  • Ground > Poison, Rock, Steel, Fire, Electric
  • Ice > Dragon, Grass, Ground, Flying
  • Poison > Grass, Fairy
  • Rock > Flying, Bug, Fire, Ice
  • Steel > Fairy, Ice, Rock
  • Water > Fire, Ground, Rock

Walk Around To Find What Pokemon Are In The Your Area

This tip is mostly for newcomers, but if youve loaded up Pokemon Go for the first time youll need to know whats around you and where to go. Pokemon will appear near you, but the real capture quest is when you start to walk.

Check out the Nearby menu in the bottom right corner of your screen. This will give all trainers an idea of which species of Pokemon are nearby. The game will prioritize Pokemon that you havent caught yet – signified by a silhouette – but all other Pokemon shown are those that are closest to your location.

There will be nine snapshots of where to go and in most cases, theyll have a PokeStop – more on that later – next to them to show where they are located. Tap on the footprints below the Pokemon and the game will zoom out to show you where to find that PokeStop and Pokemon. This is also where youll find all the Pokemon Raids taking place in your surrounding area but well get onto more on them in a bit.

How To Catch Rock Pokemon In Pokemon Go

Rock-type Pokemon such as Geodude and the like can be found in places where the app figures stone is likely a regular feature. That includes the likes of quarries, towns, parking buildings, train stations, highways, or large buildings such as shopping malls .

There’s 11 rock-type Pokemon in the original 151 Pokemon that feature in Pokemon Go, including Geodude, Graveler, Golem, Onix, Rhyhorn, Rhydon, Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, Kabutops and Aerodactyl. As ever, some are only available via evolution.

Shiny Pokemon: What You Should Know

How to Find ALL 36 Wild Rare Pokemon in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee

While the process for obtaining Shinies is rather straightforward, there are a few details you should know about Shiny Pokemon and how they work in Pokemon GO.

  • Shiny Pokemon Evolve into Shiny Pokemon – A Shiny Pokemon will evolve into a Shiny version of their evolved form. A gold Shiny Magikarp will evolve into a Red Gyarados, a Shiny Duskull evolves into a Shiny Dusclops, and so on. Just be sure to stock up on the appropriate Candy if youre looking to evolve a specific Shiny in Pokemon GO.
  • Shiny Pokemon Are Distinct Individuals – Shiny Pokemon occur as individuals, which means what may be a Shiny for one player will likely be the standard version for another player. Two players can catch the same Pokemon in the same location, yet only one of them may be Shiny. If your friend caught a Shiny at a particular place, dont expect to have the same luck if you go there. This prevents players from essentially farming a single location for Shinies, which is a good thing.
  • A Shiny Pokemon May Be Regular Ditto in Disguise – Niantic decided to be a bit cruel when implementing Ditto in that Ditto can pretend to be a Shiny Pokemon without actually being Shiny itself. Having your newly captured Shiny transform into a regular Ditto can be disheartening to say the least, but perhaps Ditto will eventually get the Shiny treatment in Pokemon GO so that this no longer happens.

Tips For Capturing Pokmon

Tip: Use the Lucky Egg to evolve and conquer.

Lucky Eggs are awesome bonus eggs the game gives you. They increase your experience points and your ability to catch Pokémon for 30 continuous minutes. They also help you evolve Pokémon, which is crucial if you want to level up. When youre ready to really catch all the Pokémon and you have a half-hour to spare, try this:

  • Collect all the Pokémon youve found that have the ability to help you evolve. Weedles and Pidgies are the easiest kind of Pokémon to evolve, so make sure to catch a bunch of them for this purpose.
  • Go to a PokéStop where people have set out a bunch of Lures.
  • Use an incense item to attract new Pokémon.
  • Crack open a Lucky Egg, evolve your existing Pokémon, and spend the next 30 minutes catching them all!
  • When you use your lucky egg, you gain 200 experience points every time you capture a new Pokémon. And when you evolve a Pokémon, you get even more points 500 for every evolution, even if youve already evolved that particular species. So get out there and start cracking!

    Tip: Use the curve.

The basic way the difficulty level increases as you advance is that it gets harder to aim and control the ball. If youre the kind of player who aims, points, and flicks with your thumb, youre going to find yourself out of luck on some of the higher levels.

Tip: Turn off the Augmented Reality setting.

    Tip: Use your middle finger.

Leave Pokemon In Gyms To Earn Coins

If you see a Gym of your team with an open space for a Pokemon defender, it’s worth dropping one of your highest level Pokemon in there to defend it for a while. Not only will you help boost that Gym’s ranks, your Pokemon will actually earn you Pikachu coins for the duration of its time there, which you can then spend on lovely things like Incubators and bag upgrades. Sweet!

Gyms tend to be train stations or other big landmarks and youll see them proudly displaying Pokemon team colours. Yellow for Instinct, red for Valour, and blue for Mystic. Each gym has a Pokestop at the top and up to six Pokemon inside. If you have arrived at a rival teams gym, you can jump in and battle, or train if you are at a friendly gym. Gyms run on whats called Motivation. Every time you fight a Pokemon, its motivation drops. Drop the motivation of every Pokemon in the gym to 0 and youll win the gym. It might sound easy but it takes serious time to chip away at if youre alone and the gym is full of powerful Pokemon.

To save things being unfair though, you cant have more than one of each type of Pokemon so you wont find 6 Tyranitar to make your way through. If you pass a friendly gym and theres a spare slot, you can leave your Pokemon to fight for your team. Bear in mind though that theyll be there for the duration. You do get paid though. For every 10 minutes held youll earn one coin, up to a maximum of 50 coins a day.

Why Use A Map Or Tracker In Pokmon Go In The First Place

While the information each Map or Tracker can provide varies and the quality of that information can be spotty in many areas, these tools can give players direction and save them a lot of time. If you’re trying to find a Machop nest so you can power up your Machamp, some Maps lay out all of the nests in an area and what Pokémon are spawning there. If you’re looking for a particular Raid battle, there are Maps for that too. If you’re visiting a new area and want to know where the biggest clusters of Gyms and Pokéstops are, there are also Maps for that. One site even tries to keep track of rare Pokémon spawns.

While some players consider some or even all of these tools to be cheating, they can provide invaluable guidance for those who use them. Of those that are still up and running, four stand out.

Catching A Pikachu As Your Starter Pokemon

Pokemon Go: What Are Pokemon Types For

Pokemon in Pokemon Go all fall into one of a few categories – ‘types’. A Pokemon can have one or two types, and types determine a number of things about that Pokemon. For one it determines where the Pokemon likes to live , but it also determines battle strengths and weaknesses.

There’s 18 different types, and each type is either strong, weak or neutral to other types. At the most basic level with the starter Pokemon this breaks down to Rock, Paper, Scissors – Charmander beats Bulbasaur who beats Squirtle who in turn beats Charmander, for example. It’s all pretty straight forward.

The way Types and Battles in general work in Pokemon Go is marginally different to the major Pokemon games, but the same core concepts apply.

If you want to learn about what types to use in battle against an opponent or what types to avoid in a particular battle to dodge defeat, look no further than our Pokemon Type Strengths and Weaknesses guide. How To Catch Poison Pokemon In Pokemon Go

Thankfully Pokemon Go doesn’t require you to actually venture anywhere poisonous to find Poison-type Pokemon, but you might have to get a little wet: they appear in areas the game defines as ‘wetland’, which includes ponds, marches, lakes and so on. For some reason they may also occasionally pop up in more industrial areas of cities and in large buildings, though this seems less common.

There’s a whopping 33 poison-type Pokemon in Pokemon Go’s 151 creatures, though there is lots of overlap with other types: Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Venonat, Venomoth, Bellsprout, Weepinbel, Victreebel, Ekans, Arbok, Nidoran , Nidoran , Nidorina, Nidoqueen, Nidorino, Nidoking, Zubat, Golbat, Grimer, Muk, Koffing, Weezing, Tentacool, Tentacruel, Gastly, Haunter and Gengar.

4 poison-type Pokemon were added in the Pokemon Go Gen 2 update. That includes: Spinarak, Ariados, Crobat, Qwilfish.

How To Get Strong Pokemon In Pokemon Go!! [For Beginners][5 Tips & Secrets]

There are two areas of the game that register the Pokemon you catch:

    • Bag: these are the Pokemon you actually have available to you.
    • Pokedex: this shows all the Pokemon you’ve caught, those you’ve seen and details the evolution paths.

There’s no need to carry every type of Pokemon as a growing collection in your bag – that’s what the Pokedex is for.

It’s better to keep only the Pokemon you need: that’s an army to fight with in Gym and Raid battles. You’ll need high power versions of Pokemon, but it’s better to have a number of powerful Blissey than one Blissey and a Caterpie, Metapod, Kakuna and so on, because those Pokemon – once registered and evolved – won’t really do much for you. So, learn your Pokemon’s skills and build an army of those who fight well, like Gengar, Blissey, Vaporeon.

You’ll also need to carry those you still need to evolve and hang on to those who need a special item to evolve, like Onix if you’ve not yet got Steelix.

Also keep your eye out for special edition characters – like the seasonal Pikachu. These evolve into special Raichu, so it’s worth having and holding these, just so you can put them in Gyms for others to be jealous of.

Favourite Pokemon To Find Those You Need To Evolve

With more and more regions opening up in Pokemon Go, it can be hard to keep track of those Pokemon that can still evolve. Use the favourite functions to put a star on them so you can see, at a glance, those Pokemon that you’re still trying to evolve. That will make it really easy to select one off the list to make your new buddy.

How To Catch Ice Pokemon In Pokemon Go

Much as with Fire Pokemon, the need to actually go somwehere icy to catch Ice-type Pokemon has thankfully been left out of Pokemon Go. Instead you’ll find ice-types in grassy areas occasionally and near bodies of water more often than that. You’ll of course also find them anywhere there’s actual snow and ice if you happen to live close to anywhere that fits the bill.

There’s 5 ice-type Pokemon in the original 151 that are in Pokemon Go: Jynx, Dewgong, Cloyster, Lapras and Articuno. Legendary Articuno is unlikely to be found out in the wild.

5 ice-type Pokemon were added in the Pokemon Go Gen 2 update. That includes: Sneasel, Swinub, Piloswine, Delibird, Smoochum.
