How To Catch Shiny Pokemon Easily

The more of the same type of Pokemon you’ve caught or battled, the more likely you will encounter a Shiny version of them in the wild. Also, the more you encounter a certain Pokemon, the more likely they’ll appear in the Wild Area, too! So, if you have your eye on a certain Shiny Pokemon, run into them as often as possible. Your “chain” in Sword and Shield is permanent, which you can check by looking at your Pokedex.

How To Get Shiny Charm

Shiny charms are as difficult to get as Shiny Pokemon themselves. You have to Catch all 150 Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex to qualify for a Shiny Charm in Pokemon BDSP.

Once youve completed this task, head over to Hotel Grand Lake and talk to the two NPCs there who are game directors of Pokemon BDSP. They will then award you with a Shiny Charm which will substantially increase your chance of hatching a shiny Pokemon.

How To Breed Shiny Pokmon

The Masuda Method is the main way to breed Shiny Pokémon. This method is slightly more involved, as it requires players to first acquire one of the parent Pokémon from another player who is playing the game in a language other than yours, and then breeding it. This makes the resulting Pokémon a whopping six times more likely to be Shiny and brings the odds down to 1 out of 683. With the Shiny Charm, this goes down to 1 out of 512. The easiest thing to do is to trade for a foreign Ditto and then breed with any other Pokémon to have a shot at a non-Ditto Shiny offspring.

Note that this method is still a theory and has therefore not been confirmed in Sword & Shield. The Masuda Method was confirmed with these stats for Pokémon Sun & Moon and is likely to be the same or similar in the new games. However, its important to keep in mind that a consensus has not yet been reached.

How To Catch Shiny Druddigon

Druddigon is a pure Dragon-type Pokemon from the Unova region and will be making its Pokemon Go debut with the start of the Dragonspiral Descent event. Not only is Druddigon making its Pokemon Go debut, but its Shiny variant will as well.

Shiny Druddigon is one of the most drastic changes in all of Pokemon. Normal Druddigon is blue and red while the Shiny variant changes to a bright orange and green. In order to find a Shiny Druddigon, trainers will have to encounter as many of the Dragon-type as possible and hope for a little luck.

Druddigon will be appearing in three-star Raids as well as a reward for a certain Field Research Task and the latest Collection Challenge. More information on those can be found in the section below.

Unfortunately, Druddigon wont be appearing in the overworld so trainers wont be able to use an incense to attract some to their area but be sure to attempt as many Raids as possible.

As for Druddigons potential in PVP, its a bit too soon to tell, but we do know the moves that it can learn.

Druddigon can use Dragon Tail and Bite as a Fast Attack, both are decent moves but Dragon Tail may be the best option as it deals more damage and charges up the move gauge faster. As for its Charged Attacks, Druddigon can learn Dragon Claw, Night Slash and Hyper Beam.

How To Find And Catch Shiny Pokmon

First and foremost, you cannot see a shiny Pokémon in the overworld in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. You will only see if a Pokémon is shiny by using the Poké Radar or by engaging with it in battle.

Additionally, the colour variants of some shiny Pokémon aren’t too different from their original form. For example, a Pikachu shiny is only a slightly darker form of yellow, so, be certain to keep an eye out for sparkle animations in battle. Finally, hunting for shiny Pokémon is not a light task, it can take hours, days, or for some less lucky, weeks. So, have a little patience if you’re committing to getting that favourite Pokémon in its shiny form.

Shiny Pokmon In Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl: A Few Things To Know

• You cannot see shinies in the overworld: Unlike Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, which allowed you to see if a Pokémon was shiny in the overworld, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl only lets you see if a creature is shiny by engaging it in battle. The exception to this is if you happen to have a Poké Radar on you, in which case you will see shiny sparkles in the grass.
• Look for sparkles: When you come upon a shiny, sparkles and light emit around the Pokémon. You’re going to want to pay attention for this and catch that Pokémon.
• Some shinies don’t look much different: For instance, shiny Pikachu is simply a different color yellow and shiny Piplup is just a lighter blue. So you really need to keep an eye out for those sparkles.
• Shiny hunting can take hours if not days: You’re going to have to be patient. Some people are lucky enough to grab a shiny super quick, but others can spend 10+ hours and still have nothing to show for it. Keep at it, and you’ll get one eventually.

So you want to start shiny hunting in Pokemon Sword and Shield? There’s a few things you need to know before you start. Firstly, catch combos don’t exist in Galar while chaining is still a thing that we’ll get onto shortly, catch combos were first introduced with Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee. You don’t need to worry about catch combos specifically here, because shiny chains in Pokemon Sword and Shield work differently.

To begin shiny hunting, you first need to choose which Pokemon you want to hunt. Whether it’s a Wooloo or a Wailord, pick your target then go to the location that particular pocket monster spawns the most .

Essentially, you need to keep battling the Pokemon of your choice and either catch them or knock them out. The higher your tally of that specific species you’ve battled, the more likely it is to be shiny. You can check how many you’ve battled under the relevant Pokedex entry. While that’s the basic gist of things, read on to understand how it all works and how to shiny hunt more effectively.

How To Catch Shiny Pokmon In Sword And Shield: Shiny Pokmon Vs Super Shiny Pokmon

Several players have reported that they’ve found a brand new variant of shiny Pokémon. To be more precise, two different types of shiny Pokémon appear in Sword and Shield. One of them is much rarer than the other and has been dubbed “super shiny” by the internet. Regular shiny Pokémon pop out with stars glittering around them, whereas super shiny Pokémon appear with squares, as seen in the picture above.

Shiny Pokémon rarity has been split! Same 1:4096 odds to obtain a shiny, but there are two types of shiny. 15/16 show stars, 1/16 show squares. Square rarity is 1 in 65536!Basically, if your Trainer ID cleanly matches the PID , it will be squares rather than stars.

This has led data miners to jump into Sword and Shield’s coding to determine if the shiny odds have been affected. According to respected data miner Kurt, the odds of catching shinies are still 1/4096. However, 15/16 shiny Pokémon will show stars, whereas only 1/16 shiny Pokémon will show squares. That makes super shinies super rare to come across with only a chance of 1/65536!

Shiny Hunting At Pokmon Hideaways

Pokémon hideaways are a new feature in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl found in the Grand Underground. If you roam around the Underground for a while, you will occasionally run into a Diglett or Dugtrio. Approaching them will force them to run away, dropping some purple energy in the process. You will want to collect these, as they will add to the counter at the top left corner of the screen. Diglett will add 1 point to the total, while Dugtrio will add 3 to it.

After reaching the maximum of 40, your chances of finding a shiny Pokémon will be boosted for 4 minutes if playing solo or 5 minutes while playing online. Instead of 1/4096, the chances of finding a shiny will become 1/2048 during this time period. However, the community is currently researching this, so we may update this guide with more information in the future.

Via Poke Radar Chaining

You increase your odds of encountering Shiny Pokemon in tall grass by chaining together encounters with a single Pokemon species via the Poke Radar. By increasing the chain up to 40, you’re more likely to encounter the shiny grass patch.

The chain breaks if it’s not the same Pokemon species encountered or if no grass shakes

If your next encounter is not of the same species, the chain ends. You should avoid getting into wild encounters in grass not rustled by the Poke Radar. Additionally, if no grass shakes after the Poke Radar battle, your chain ends.

Where To Find Shiny Pokmon

Way 1: Increasing Chances in Finding Shiny Pokémon During Community Day

The chances of encountering Shiny Pokémon are higher in special events like Community Days and Pokémon GO Fest. Community Day occurs once a month in Pokémon GO. To Increase the chance of finding a Shiny Pokémon on Community Days, it is recommended not to capture every single Pokémon tapped but to move on to the next Pokémon without getting into combat. The trick is to increase the number of taps. This will let the players check more Pokémon until they find a shiny one.

Way 2: Follow Pokémon GO’s Field Research Tasks

Research is a feature in Pokémon GO that allows Trainers to help Professor Willow with his Pokémon Research. Completion of Research tasks unlocks a different kind of rewards.

Field Research tasks can be found by visiting PokéStops. Each PokéStop assigns one task and changes its task every 24 hours. Completing Field Research tasks is one of the easiest ways to find and catch Shiny Pokémon. Field Research tasks are advantageous because a Shiny Pokémon rewarded from a Field Research task will always remain shiny until the Trainer captures it. It will remain shiny even after the Trainer runs away and re-encounters it.
