How To Transfer Between Home Sword And Shield And Lets Go

This can only be done in the Pokémon Home app on Nintendo Switch, so put your smartphone away. On there, select the Pokémon option on the main menu. You should now see any Pokémon game you have a save file for on this Switch, along with the Home icon as well. To trade Pokémon just select the game you want to trade from or to, the Home boxes are accessible from within that menu.

Youll now have your Home boxes on the left and the games boxes on the right. You can move creatures between them freely, moving between the boxes with the shoulder buttons. As I said, we previously explained that you currently cant directly trade from GO to Home. Thats still the case as of February 2020, but will change some time in the future. However, there are ways to get creatures from GO into Home, but its a select group and requires some extra steps to accomplish it. While we wait for the official update to arrive we wanted to break down this workaround of sorts. The key to it all is Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee.

Yes, you may already be ahead of me. You see, Home doesnt connect to GO just yet, but it does allow transfers from both of the Lets Go titles. And those do currently work with Pokémon Home. So while we await the full release of Pokémon GO support in Home, you can use either Lets Go game as a gateway for Gen 1 characters. All you need to do is connect your Pokémon GO game to either Lets Go title, send the Pokémon there, then bring them over to Home.

To do this you need to reach the Fuchsia City area in either Lets Go game. Once you speak to the person at the Safari Zone you unlock the ability to connect to Pokémon GO. Do so by pressing X and then Y and opening Pokémon GO settings. Go through the prompts here then open Pokémon GO and head to Settings. Scroll down to Nintendo Switch and select it then your Switch should show up. Connect the two, then you now have a Switch icon in your Pokémon menu. Choose it to see which characters can be sent over to Lets Go.

To transfer Pokemon from their Switch games to the cloud-based service, they first need to download the Pokemon Home app on their Switch.

This is free to download on the Nintendo eShop and makes the process very simple.

Note: Players cannot move Pokemon that are not included in the Pokemon Sword and Shield Pokedex. You also cannot transfer Pokemon in the Lets Go games to and from Sword and Shield.

ORIGINAL: Developers Niantic and the Pokemon Company have confirmed how they plan to transfer Pokemon Goto Pokemon Home.

For those that dont know what it is, Pokemon Home is a dedicated cloud service which allows trainers to store and transfer Pokemon from different games.

It means you can put your favourite Pocket Monsters together and make your perfect lineup, built from generations of hard work.

And it was announced just this week that Pokemon Go Home Transfers would soon be available to fans.

It should be noted that Pokemon being sent away to the Home cloud via the new Go Transporter, are making a one-way trip, as they cannot return PoGo after the transfer is complete.

There are also large limitations on how long it takes Pokemon to be transferred, and the amount of energy required to send certain Pokemon.

How To Transfer From Sword/shield And Let’s Go To Pokemon Home

Pokemon Home is also compatible with Let’s Go Pikachu / Eevee and Pokemon Sword / Shield, so you can store any Pokemon you’ve captured in those titles to the service. Fortunately, this process is much simpler than transferring Pokemon from Bank. In the Switch version of Home, select Pokemon on the main menu and you’ll be presented with a list of the Switch Pokemon games you own. Choose a title and you can move Pokemon from it to Home, and vice versa.

As with Bank transfers, there are a couple of caveats to keep in mind when moving your pocket monsters. Any Pokemon you transfer from Let’s Go to Home can be retrieved in their original game or in Sword and Shield however, if you bring a Pokemon from Let’s Go into one of the Gen 8 games, it can no longer be returned to its original title. Pokemon from Sword and Shield, however, can freely be moved to and from the service.

Reaching certain milestones regarding the Pokémon you register in Pokémon HOME – related to all kinds of variables including number of Pokémon, type, nature, moves and more – will result in fulfilling Challenges, as listed in the mobile version of the app.

These Challenges will appear when you complete a part of them and finishing them rewards you with stickers and special backgrounds you can use to decorate the app and your profile.

This is how much Transporter energy it costs to transfer a Pokémon:

Standard Pokémon

If a Pokémon would cost more than the maximum 10,000 energy to transfer for instance, a shiny CP 2400 mythical Pokémon it counts as using all of your energy but may still be transferred.

Energy takes time to recharge , or you can immediately charge it with PokéCoins. This costs a Coin per ten energy and your maximum energy is 10,000. So it will cost 1,000 PokéCoins to fully recharge your Transporter.

How To Transfer Pokmon From Switch Games Sword And Shield And Pokmon Let’s Go To Pokmon Home And Back To Sword And Shield

Transferring Pokémon from Switch games are the easiest of all transfer options available, and requires just the use of Pokémon Home software on Switch.

Load up Home on Switch and on the main Pokémon Home menu there are two main options – Pokémon and Pokédex.

Selecting ‘Pokémon’ will display your save files from any local Switch games, as well as your online Pokémon Home box.

Choose a save file to reveal two boxes side-by-side – Pokémon Home on the left, and your Pokémon Sword and Shield or Let’s Go Pokémon on the right. Simply drag and drop your Pokémon, then once done, press the + button to save your settings.

It’s broadly as simple as that, though there are some additional restrictions in place:

• With Let’s Go, though you can move Pokémon between different versions of Let’s Go and Home, once it’s in Sword and Shield, it cannot be used in Let’s Go again.
• Anything not supported in the Pokémon Sword and Shield Pokédex cannot be moved to those games – though this list will be expanded in future Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass.

How to send Pokémon from Home to Sword and Shield

Moving Pokémon from Home to Sword and Shield is thankfully nice and simple, too. To return Pokémon to Sword and Shield from Home, or transfer any new Pokémon you’ve got in Home via Pokémon Go, Let’s Go, or Mystery Gifts, take the following steps:

There are a few other things to bear in mind when transferring Pokémon from Go to Home.

• The first time you do so, you’ll recieve a Gigantamax Melmetal as a reward! You can claim it via the Mystery Gift function on the mobile version of Home only.
• You’ll also be able to open a Mystery Box in Pokémon Go, causing Meltan to appear for a set period of time. More on that in our Melmetal and Mystery Boxes guide!

• Not all Pokémon can be transferred from Go to Home. Specifically, you can’t transfer Spinda, Kyurem Black/White, any Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon, or any of the special event Pokémon that have an altered appearance, like Armoured Mewtwo, Party Hat Pikachu or the Flower Crown Eeveelutions.
• Pokémon with different forms in Go will default to a specific form in Home . Specifically this will alter forms to:
• Castform Sunny/Rainy/Snowy – Castform Normal
• Meloetta Pirouette – Meloetta Aria
• Genesect Burn/Chill/Douse/Shock – Genesect Normal
• Certain Pokémon require you to have caught them or registered them in your Pokédex first, in order for you to transfer them from Home to Sword and Shield. In brief, these are all of the legendaries/mythicals catachable in Sword and Shield via Dynamax Adventures, plus Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Victini and Genesect. How To Actually Transfer Pokmon From Pokmon Go To Pokmon Home

Once youve linked your Nintendo account, you can head back into Settings at any time to access the Pokémon Home transfer system. In the Pokémon Home tab, click Send Pokémon to begin.

Before we go any further, Im going to remind you that any Pokémon you transport to Pokémon Home cannot come back! This is a one-way ticket, so dont transfer anything that you might regret.

Youll now see a screen with the Pokémon Home transporter on it, and a full energy bar . Click continue to be taken to your familiar Pokémon screen. However, there are a few Pokémon that you cant transfer:

• Spinda
• Shadow Pokémon
• Mega-Evolved Pokémon

Lucky and Purified Pokémon will lose their bonuses when transferred, and the following Pokémon will change forms:

• Origin Forme Giratina will become Altered Forme Giratina
• Sunshine Form Cherrim will become Overcast Form Cherrim
• Sunny Form, Rainy Form, and Snowy Form Castform will become Castform in its usual form

Otherwise, select the Pokémon you want to transfer up to a maximum of 27 at once, or until you run out of energy and click next. Youll see how much Go Transporter Energy this transfer will cost and be reminded of the Pokémon you selected. Click transport to complete the transfer.

How Do I Move Pokmon From Pokmon Home To Pokmon Sword And Shield

Once you’ve moved Pokémon to Pokémon HOME from Sword and Shield or other sources, compatible Pokémon can easily be transferred back to Sword and Shield by connecting with the game again and dragging your chosen Pokémon to the game’s boxes. Remember that only Pokémon present in the Galar Pokédex can be moved to Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Also remember that POKÉMON TRANSFERRED FROM LET’S GO PIKACHU AND EEVEE CANNOT BE MOVED BACK TO THOSE GAMES ONCE YOU’VE MOVED THEM TO SWORD AND SHIELD .
