Pokemon Card Set Symbols

Use this handy guide to look up Pokemon card set symbols, set names, and set years.

The most common way to organize Pokemon cards is by set. To identify the set, look for a little symbol at the bottom of the card, next to the card number. There are a bunch of these set symbols 5-6 sets are released every year, each with a different set symbol, and theyve been printing cards since 1999!

Other Shiny Pokemon V

This section has a similar vibe to it as the baby shiny cards that I just covered, and that is because they are in a similar situation, just at a different price point and rarity. These cards all have incredible artwork and are ultra rares in a very popular set, which sets them up for great success, especially over time. The thing about these though is outside of Charizard VMAX, none of them slapped me in the face is being significantly better than the rest. I very easily could have placed these in the other significant cards section above, but I felt reviewing these would be repetitive and not add much of anything. These are another group of cards to keep your eye on, like be the baby shinies.

    Looking Up How Much My Pokemon Cards Are Worth:

    If you get too many results that include cards NOT like yours, use the checkboxes to pick the ones just like yours. Choosing a few comparable items by using the checkboxes gives you a much more accurate estimate of what your Pokemon card is worth.

    What to do next:

    Once youve gone through and searched for the value of your Pokemon cards using the price guide, you have several different options:

    If the Pokemon cards are valuable: You can either hold onto the cards, perhaps get them graded if theyre really valuable, and hopefully see them appreciate in value over time. Alternatively, you sell it to a local card shop without getting ripped off since you know its worth. Lastly, you can sell it yourself on eBay to get a competitive price. Read our guide to selling on eBay.

    If the Pokemon cards are worthless: A card doesnt have to be worth money to be considered valuable. Each card has sentimental value to someone: where they got it, the deck it was a part of, that time you used it to battle so-and-so a lot of people tend to hang onto them because of the memories. If you want to get rid of your Pokemon cards, they could be worth some memories to a relative or a stranger. Put them on Craigslist, take them to a card shop, donate them, or pass them along to your kids or a relative. Theres still a lot of fun to be had in those dusty Pokemon cards youve been hanging onto!

    Holographic Bulbasaur Charmander And Squirtle

    After;iconic;Pokemon like Pikachu and Charizard, it goes without saying that the Kanto region starters are likely some of the most recognizable monsters out there. Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle made their;Pokemon debut alongside Pikachu back in 1996, and have since remained some of the favorite;monsters of long-time fans, particularly those who grew up playing the original;Pokemon games on the Game Boy. These are the second-rarest cards from the 2021 McDonald’s promotion.

    This particular Bulbasaur card featuring the classic Grass-type starter Pokemon was originally released as part of the;Shining Legends Pokemon TCG expansion back;in 2017. In 2019, the card appeared in General Mills Let’s Go, Kanto! Mini Packs found in General Mills cereal boxes exclusively at Walmart. The card was also part of a McDonald’s promotion in France in 2019, also with holographic and non-holographic variations.

    Now, the Bulbasaur card dons the;Pokemon 25th-anniversary logo and unique icon as part of the 2021 McDonald’s promotion.;Today, the;Shining Legends Bulbasaur card goes;for around $2-5, while;the 2021 McDonald’s non-holographic Bulbasaur resells for around $3-5, and the holographic version goes for $15-20.

    Other Baby Shiny Pokemon

    The fact of the matter is that outside of a couple of frontrunners, it is difficult to determine how these cards will act. However, I am very confident that all of them will have some sort of value and will certainly have some demand. Each Pokemon represented here is someones favorite Pokemon, all of them have incredible artwork, and they are in a set that will have a very large demand. I will have more thoughts on how price stabilization and such will unfold in my next article, which will be very relevant for this section and the one below.

    Rare Mcdonald’s Pokemon Misprints

    As with most any other set of;Pokemon TCG cards, misprints and error cards;tend to be both the rarest and most valuable cards on the third-party reselling market. One McDonald’s customer sold an error Pikachu card just last week for about $500. While the holographic cards in the 2021 McDonald’s promotional set are the ones fans have been;on the lookout for, this one, in particular, was non-holographic, showing just how much some collectors value error cards.

    It is also worth noting that a misprint holographic Squirtle card from the 2021 McDonald’s;Pokemon 25th anniversary set is also making the rounds on eBay at the moment. Listed for $45;by user michigangirltreasures, this holographic Squirtle misprint shows that the Squirtle on the error card has supposedly been printed with much more of a green color than when;compared side-by-side to what looks like a;normal;holographic Squirtle card. Although it is rather hard to tell, it does seem;like only the Squirtle on the card is discolored, giving it a lot more value.

    Shining Fates Card Review

    Im not going to review every single card in the set, as that feels like it would get repetitive and a lot of them are not significant. Additionally, a lot of them can be lumped together, which you will see occur for review purposes in this article you should have my general thoughts on every card. If you feel I missed anything or have a question about a particular card, feel free to comment down below!

    So, to stress how I rank each thing in terms of importance, this review will be broken down into sections. Also keep in mind that the entire set hasnt been revealed in English just yet, so many of the scans will be of their Japanese counterparts.

    Shining Fates Confirmed Top 5 Most Valuable Cards And Complete Set List

    Welcome!Here is Titan Cards two week post release review of Shining Fates. This article will reveal if our predictions of the most valuable cards were on point and where we fell short. We will also be publishing the full confirmed set list along with our opinion of the expansion overall, including the current confirmed top 5 most valuable cards.

    Lets start with the predictions we got catastrophically wrong, the ones that werent included in the set. You can find them here on our previous articleShining Fates- Our Predicted Top 5 Most Valuable Cards!Zacian V and Zamazenta V- Black and Gold Cards!Nooooooooo. To say we are disappointed would be an understatement. Our favourite brother and sister pairing is not included in the Shining Fates set. They do feature in the artwork of the Rusted Sword & Rusted Shield trainer cards, but it looks as though these were kept exclusive for the Japanese set- Shiny Star V. We think the reason being they were set to be released in the Zacian & Zamazenta ultimate premium collection boxes which were due to us in November 2020; for some reason they failed to make an appearance at the UK distributors.;

    As before, bagging these cards is down to luck. However, it is more likely you pull an elusive non-GX shiny card or even multiple.;

    The Pokémon Company

    Pokémon: Trading Card Game’s latest set, ‘Shining Fates’ is finally out, bringing with it a whole load of new, shiny Pokémon to collect. As with most sets recently, Shining Fates is under incredible demand, with most stores selling out long before the set ever even hit shelves.

    The reason for that is two-fold: first, Pokémon is at an all-time high at the moment, with anything with a Pokeball on getting bought up super quickly. Secondly, Shining Fates has some super high-value cards hidden within it, with some cards selling for well over $500. If you managed to grab a pack of Shining Fates, here are the most valuable cards you should be looking out for.

    Keep in mind that set prices fluctuate a whole lot in the days and weeks after a set comes out. Cards that are worth a lot now may not be worth that same amount in the future, so make sure you keep an eye on aggregate sites like Dawnglare or TCGPlayer before buying or selling.

    What Is The Hidden Fates Elite Trainer Box

    The Hidden fates ETB incorporates everything you need to get started in the TCG. The box contains dice, sleeves, ten booster packs containing ten cards apiece, 45 energy cards, markers and a players guide.

    Every package also includes a limited edition full art Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos GX card, which is very rare.;

    Hidden Fates TCG set was initially released in 2019 and quickly became a fan favourite selling out fast due to favourite fan pokemon such as Charizard and the inclusion of what is known as the shiny vault.;

    The shiny vault is a special section of the TCG, which includes shiny variations of specific Pokemon. For example, you could get your hands on a Shiny Charizard or Mewtwo within the set.;

    As a result, the fan community went wild, with the ETB selling out lightning-fast along with Hidden fates booster boxes and packs.

    It wasn’t until this year that the set was reprinted due to its popularity. Due to the limited availability of the set, it has soared in value, making the box lucrative for many.
