Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are three LegendaryPsychic-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region. Pokemon Go Mesprit Moveset

Mesprits one unique Charged Attack is the Ice-type move, Blizzard. Mega Houndoom and Mega Gyarados resist Blizzard, but Tyranitar is hit neutrally by it. Hydreigon and Giratina are weak to Blizzard so trainers looking to use either will have to be wary of Mesprit using it in battle.

Like mentioned above, Mega Gengar–and to a lesser extent Mega Beedrill–are weak to Mesprit, Uxie and Azelfs Psychic-type moves. While Mega Gengar is a great attacker, it wont last long especially if any of the Lake Guardians have Future Sight as their Charged Attack.

Shiny Odds For Mesprit Uxie And Azelf In Pokmon Go

Those looking for one of the Lake Trio shinies have some time to catch them.

Lugia has finally taken a backseat in raids and Pokémon Go has introduced the new five-star raid Pokémon. The legendary Lake Trio of Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit have come through and are available in five-star raids for a few weeks.

Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are region-locked, which means players will have to make some international friends to catch all three. Uxie is available to the Asia Pacific region, Mesprit can be found in the European region, and Azelf can be caught by those in the Americas.

Serebii Update: The Pokémon GO Raid Bosses are shifting as of 10:00 local time today and Uxie, Mesprit & Azelf are now available within their respective regions until October 1st at 10:00 local time, with their Shiny variants now available. Details @

All three of these legendary Pokémon have shiny variants, which makes them a hot commodity for shiny hunters. Those looking for a shiny Uxie, Mesprit, or Azelf should do as many raids as they can. The chance for a shiny in each legendary raid is one in 20, which is even higher than the shiny rate for Community Day Pokémon at one in 25.

How To Capture Uxie Mesprit And Azelf In Pokmon Go

The Sinnoh spirit trio Pokemon that watch over the lakes are finally here and available to capture in certain parts of the world in Pokémon Go. So how exactly can you take them on and capture them?

First, these Pokémon are only available in certain parts of the world at the time of writing Here is where they can currently be found:

  • Asia-Pacific region: Uxie
  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: Mesprit
  • The Americas and Greenland: Azelf

If you are extremely lucky, however, then you might be able to find them in the wild near a body of water and wont need to face off against them in raids.

If raids are your only option, though, be sure to get together with a team of other trainers to take them on. A large number of fellow trainers participating in raid battles increases your chance of successfully defeating that Pokémon and Niantic advise that trainers have at least 15 people take on a raid for it to be successful.

As the trio are all Psychic type, you want to get a team of strong Bug, Ghost, or Dark Pokemon that are at least 2,000 CP or higher to increase your chances of defeating them. Pokémon like Umbreon or Gengar can work best here so long as they have the right moves on offer.

After beating them, youll then be given a chance to capture the Pokemon through a small selection of Pokéballs. Its incredibly difficult to capture a Legendary Pokémon, so we strongly recommend using Golden Razz Berries to boost your chances of catching the Pokémon.

Before being able to catch Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie, players will need to first beat the main story and defeat the Elite Four in Pokémon BDSP. The National Dex is not required to capture any of the Lake Trio, but they cannot be captured before the Elite Four has been defeated. Upon beating the Elite Four players will be returned to Twinleaf Town, and they can begin hunting for the three Legendary Pokémon by heading to Lake Verity.

Everything We Know About Azelf

Azelf is a member of the Lake Guardians who originate from the Sinnoh region. Along with Uxie and Mesprit, Azelf was created by Areceus – i.e. Pokémon god – and made its home at Lake Valor in eastern Sinnoh.

Legends tell that Areceus tasked the Lake Guardians with two important tasks – the first was to calm Dialga and Palkiaif they ever went into a rage and the second was to teach certain abilities to humans. Since Azelf is the Pokémon of willpower, it taught humans the ability of willpower, giving them free action.

Other stories, however, demonstrate a less benevolent side of Azelf, claiming that the Pokémon, wanting to be left alone, would steal the willpower of humans.

Interestingly, the Lake Guardians are currently the only legendary trio in the Pokémon universe that all share the same typing.

Pokemon Go Azelf Moveset

Azelf and the other Lake trio take full advantage of their Psychic typing with at least one Psychic-type attack as a Fast and Charged move. However, trainers should know that Azelf can only know one of two Psychic-type moves. With this in mind, trainers should try and take a Dark-type or another type that resists Psychic moves to resist Azelfs Fast attacks.

Future Sight, Swift and Fire Blast are Azelfs only options for Charged Attacks. Fire Blast distinguishes Azelfs moveset from the others, but trainers really dont have to worry too much about it unless they are bringing Weavile into battle.

Tyranitar actually resists every Azelf attack while Hydreigon, Mega Houndoom and Mega Gyarados resist all but one move from the Legendary. Heres every attack that Azelf could have in Pokemon Go:

Where To Find Uxie Mesprit And Azelf

Your location dictates which memberof this Legendary trio you will encounter. Trainers in the Asia-Pacific regioncan encounter Uxie in raids. Trainers inEurope, the Middle East, Africa, and India can encounter Mesprit in raids. Trainersin North America, Central America, South America, and Greenland can encounterAzelf in raids. If you’re interested in catching all three Legendary Pokémon, have friends located in these differentregions invite you to battle in a raid remotely. You can also trade with your friendsto fill out your Pokédex.

Make The Most Of Premier Balls And Berries

After an Uxie, Mesprit, or Azelf raid, you’ll have a limited numberof Premier Balls you can use to catch the Pokémon, so make each one count. Youcan earn extra Premier Balls for battling with friends and defeating Uxie, Mesprit, or Azelf more quickly.

In an encounter withUxie, Mesprit, or Azelf, yourchance of catching it is greatest when the target ring is small enough for youscore Excellent Throws. Throwing Curveballs can improve yourchances even more. But work within your abilitiesif you don’t think you canreliably make Excellent Curveball Throws, aim for Nice Throws or Great Throwsrather than risk missing the target ring completely.

These Pokémon aren’t going to make it easy on you bysitting still while you’re trying to catch them. Don’t waste your PremierBalls by throwing while the Pokémon is moving around. Watch thePokémon to get a feel for its cycle of movement and the pauses in between thecycles. During one of these pauses, wait for the target ring to reappear, andthen throw as it starts to grow smaller to increase your odds of making a GreatThrow or an Excellent Throw.

Like all Legendary Pokémon, Uxie, Mesprit, andAzelf are tricky to catch, so don’t be discouraged if the one escapes. Get asecond wind by stocking up on useful itemslike Max Potions, Max Revives, and GoldenRazz Berriesand try again.

Once you catch them all three of the Legendaries have the same preferred moveset: Confusion with Future Sight. Mesprit and Azelf should ditch Blizzard and Fire Blast, respectively, as there are much better ice-type and fire-type attackers out there who also utilize same type attack bonus. Uxie can keep Thunder without significantly losing out on DPS, but Future Sight remains a better pick.

How To Catch A Shiny Mesprit Azelf Or Uxie

Azelf, Mesprit, & Uxie Raid Hour Is Tonight In Pokémon GO

Pokemon Go has a much more reasonable and easier way to catch shinies than resetting your games console 8,000 times. Instead, each pokemon has a different chance to be a shiny. Whilst some normal Pokemon have a typical 1 in 500, its different for legendaries.

In fact, its significantly easier to catch a shiny Lake Trio in Pokemon Go as you can find one in twenty. All legendaries have a one in twenty chance of being found.

Seems easy enough, youve already overcome the first hurdle in shiny-hunting. But its worth bearing in mind that you need to defeat the Legendary before you can catch it. Something that will take multiple people and time to do. So if you want to go hunting after a shiny Lake Trio, make sure youve either got yourself a group to help, multiple accounts or send off some remote raid invitations!

Mesprit can only be found in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. While it can be encountered in the wild, it’s much easier to take it down as a Raid boss, instead. The best raid counters are, of course, Chandelure, Gengar, and Darkrai.

Mesprit is a pure psychic-type with the following stat makeup:

Shiny variations of Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit are all currently available in Pokemon Go. They made their debut during the Season of Mischief, which makes sense given the events focus on Psychic-type Pokemon.
