Kyogre Groudon & Rayquaza
After you have defeated Red on top of Mt. Silver, you can obtain an orb from Mr. Pokémon – the Blue Orb in HG or the Red Orb in SS. These allow you to capture Kyogre or Groudon repsectively, when you take them to the Embedded Tower on Route 47.
If you trade the opposing Pokémon into your game and talk to Professor Oak, he will give you a Jade Orb. Both Pokémon must have originated in HG/SS, not migrated from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald or anywhere else. Return to the Embedded Tower and Rayquaza will be there!
Traveling Back To Kanto
The ability to travel back to and journey through a previous region has to be the biggest fan-favorite feature of any;Pokémon;game and it has yet to make a return since;HeartGold;and;SoulSilver.;It then becomes easy to see why this probably has to be the most fan-requested feature to make a return.
It certainly added a big chunk to replay value and overall post-game content.;HeartGold;and;SoulSilver,;along with the original generation two games, are the only games to have this feature and have the ability to journey through a remade Kanto. This allowed you to see some familiar faces and collect eight more badges for a total of 16.

Gym Leader And Elite Four Rematches
Once again, this entry elaborates on how good the post game was in;Pokémon HeartGold;and;SoulSilver.;To many fans, having a good and healthy amount of post-game content is key to having a good overall experience with the video game series.
After battling the gym leaders and the Elite Four, you can go back and battle each of them again. While you have to meet some timing conditions to battle the gym leaders again, you can fight them featuring new and stronger teams than before. The same thing goes for the Elite Four starting in the second go around, minus the timing restrictions.
Which Is Better: Heartgold Or Soulsilver
In 1999, Pokémon came out with Pokémon Gold and Silver.
The games HeartGold and SoulSilver are the modern remakes of each.
The game director Shigeki Morimoto retained a lot of the feel of the original games due to their cult following.
To attract new fans and maintain the existing ones, Morimoto cleverly developed the new game to look and feel like a new game with elements of the old game.
It has proven successful with great reviews from critics worldwide.
HeartGold is better for those who prefer an easier game.
SoulSilver is said to be a more challenging game, and that seems to be the consensus in the forums.
In truth, the answer is subjective.
You seem to get exclusives in each game, so it depends on which characters you like best.
Those who liked SoulSilver better, in our research, tended to lean towards Lugia, and those who liked Ho-Oh lean towards HeartGold.
You get each character at the beginning of the game they appear first in, and you can enjoy your favorite for the majority of the time you are playing.
Most players we saw stated that its the legendary that is different in each game.
You will notice, however, that some of those legendaries like Spinarak, Ledyba, and Caterpie will appear at different intervals of the game as well, and most will appear in each at least for some of the time.
Therefore, it really depends, again, on how much you really like the popular characters in each.
In the forums, those seem to be Lugia and Ho-Oh.

Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version are 2009 remakes of the 1999 Game Boy Colorrole-playing video gamesPokémon Gold and Silver, also including features from Pokémon Crystal. The games are part of the fourth generation of the Pokémon video game series and were developed by Game Freak, published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Gold and Silver, the games were released in Japan on September 12, 2009, and were later released in other regions during March 2010.
HeartGold and SoulSilver take place in the Johto and Kanto region of the franchise’s fictional universe, which features special creatures called Pokémon. The basic goal of the game is to become the best Pokémon trainer in both the Johto and Kanto regions, which is done by raising and cataloging Pokémon and defeating other trainers.
A More Expansive Safari Zone
For the first time in the Johto region,;HeartGold;and;SoulSilver;featured a safari zone. These were once a staple in the mainline video game series. The Safari Zone in these games came in during the mainline story and gave access to;Pokémon;of certain types that you couldn’t find anywhere else.
The Safari Zone was and is a fun way to get access to rare species. For instance, you could even find Larvitar there instead of solely relying on the post-game area where it used to be exclusive to.

The Most Important Thing You Need To Know About Heartgold And Soulsilver
Healing and saving are of utmost importance.
They allow two things that are majorly important that most other RPGs dont.
Take your team to a Pokémon center and heal them for free, always.
The second, but even more important thing is to save often.
This is done a bit differently than other RPGs.
You can save wherever you left off.
Other RPGs dont allow that.
The only caveat is this: Dont ever save when you are in a truly dangerous or vulnerable situation.
Only do it when you know youre safe, because after the save, for a moment, you could get wiped out and ruin your save file.
The Pokémon RPGs HeartGold and SoulSilver are basically the same.
The games are really predicated on who your favorite exclusives are.
Some say that HeartGold is easy and SoulSilver is tougher, but thats relative to each gamer.
The games are built on taking your time to explore and learn and meet people and have conversations.
Yes, you are supposed to challenge and win the game, no doubt about it, but the joy and the wisdom are in the journey.
When you take the time to explore within the game, you obtain the same benefits as you would in life, which are strength, knowledge, strategy, personal skills, and agility.
Fiction really does imitate life.
Pokemon Heartgold And Soulsilver Nintendo Ds Problems
From the get-go, games on the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS present far more of a challenge when it comes to porting to new hardware due to the fact that both;handhelds utilize, and are built around, dual-screen functionality. Some Pokemon games used the additional screen for little more than an easy-access menu system , whereas others use the screen as a world map , or for little mini-games in the case of;Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. And that’s only for Pokemon games that never utilized the second screen to its full potential, whereas; The World Ends With You and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass were;arguably built around the functionality.
Losing access to a second screen wouldn’t be detrimental to;Pokemon HeartGold and;SoulSilver‘s core gameplay and that certainly wouldn’t mean the games could never be ported to other platforms. It’s already been done before with Resident Evil Revelations. But it does mean Game Freak and The Pokemon Company need to put in far more time and money to make the transition work in a way that’s faithful to the original game. Beyond;basic expectations that;Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver would be optimized to take advantage of the Nintendo Switch’s more powerful hardware, and both in terms of performance and graphics, Game Freak would need to look at overhauling the games UI and touch-screen capabilities in order;for the games to function on a single screen.

Heart Gold, dude. Ho-Oh ;and Kyogre > Lugia and Groudon.
Gold > Silver in everything. The Olympics, value, etc.
Is either of them worth playing if you have never played a Pokemon game before?

Cool. I was looking at them at the store the other day and for some reason I thought about picking one up even though I haven’t had any interest in Pokemon before. I haven’t played my DS for a bit so I might give one of them a go. ”
I got Soul Silver mainly because, in my opinion Lugia is actually badas looking unlike Ho-oh.
I have HeartGold.; I just got Ho-oh and so far it has run show. You can also definitely get Lugia I think it’s just easier in SoulSilver.
Should’ve Added: More Pokmon Variety
One of the biggest letdowns of Gold and Silver was the number of new monsters it introduced. Sitting at one hundred new;Pokémon, it still has the smallest number of native;Pokémon out of any region.

This showed in the original games, with most of the;Pokémon found in the wild being from Kanto, but since the remakes were Fourth Gen, this should’ve been fixed right? Unfortunately not. While a few Pokémon from other regions are added post-game, the roster is still lackluster. There really shouldn’t be a stretch of water with only Tentacool.

More Species To Transfer Via Pal Park
Also. tying into the fact that there are now 493 species to collect once you have the national dex, the Pal Park is a notable enough feature to have its own entry. This is also a pro to have included to the generation four games in general.
The Pal Park in;HeartGold;and;SoulSilver;is located in Kanto where the original Safari Zone was. This handy feature allowed you to transfer species directly from the box in your generation three games, giving further reason to play and collect;Pokémon;in the definitive Johto game experiences.

Pokemon Heartgold And Soulsilver To Switch
Revisiting classic titles is great, but digging out your old handheld console isn’t always convenient.
That’s why it’s so exciting when these games are ported to the current-gen consoles.
A rumour is circulating that Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver is coming to the Switch.
The news was sparked by a report that Nintendo had applied for trademarks of the title.
You can check out tweet below:
Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the game is coming to Switch.
It could simply be for merchandising or for another project in the works.
So as with any rumour, take it with a pinch of salt as there has been no confirmation from Nintendo.
It would be great to see some of the classics ported to the Switch.
Especially if they were available on the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service.
Either way, we’ll have to keep our eye out for any upcoming news on the topic

Should’ve Added: More Sinnoh Cameos And Plotlines
Coming right after the release of Diamond and Pearl, one would assume that more content related to the newest region would’ve made its way into HeartGold and SoulSilver. Unfortunately, other than a brief meet-up with Crasher Wake and Maylene, there aren’t any notable Sinnoh cameos. This is a real missed opportunity on Gamefreak’s part, as even a minor Sinnoh plotline would’ve made the game the most expansive of the series.
Welcome To The Jungle
I have actually read some diehard fans complaining about the continuity of the world, how it doesn’t seem to fit geographically with the events of previous years. If you are a diehard fan, it is up to you how you want to take the transformation of the worlds you know and love. If you are going to let something like a hillock being somewhere you don’t think it should be spoil your enjoyment of the game, perhaps HeartGold and SoulSilver aren’t for you.
If you are not a diehard fan, perhaps you are in for a bit of a learning curve. HeartGold and SoulSilver really presuppose that by now, you know how the gameplay mechanics work, although, to be fair, the actions themselves aren’t terribly complicated. What gets complicated is the advanced rock-paper-scissors system that allows the player to gain advantage in battle. There are so many different types of Pokemon that keeping them straight in your head can be a little difficult at times.

Must Play: Better Kanto Gyms
In Gold and Silver, after the player beats the Elite Four, they had the opportunity to re-visit the Kanto region. They could battle gyms 1-7 in any order, before fighting the 8th leader, Blue, and the previous champion, Red. While Blue and Red posed a significant threat to the player, the unfortunate truth was the others were complete pushovers, with lower leveled teams than Lance, who the player had just beaten. The remakes completely fixed this, revamping the leader’s teams to make them stronger and more fun to fight.
