If a huge part of the reason you nabbed a copy of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! is because you’re a mega fan of Pokémon GO, you might feel a little lost as to how to check a Pokémon’s IVs.

This was infamously tricky in the mobile game too, as you had to use a third party IV tracker to get an accurate result. Thankfully though, while it’s not so obvious at first, Game Freak has added a much easier method of checking a Pokémon’s IVs in Pokémon: Let’s Go.

Not only that, but there’s actually a concrete method you can follow to catch a Pokémon with the best IVs in Pokémon: Let’s Go that’s unprecedented for the franchise.

In this guide, we’ll offer a break explanation as to how IVs work, detail how you can go about checking them, and then provide a few tips and tricks on catching Pokémon with better IVs.

How Do I Catch Pokmon With Better Ivs

You know when you catch a few Pokémon of the same species during a single run and get a ‘Catch Combo’? This doesn’t only increase the XP you gain for catching Pokémon, it also increases your chances of nabbing a Pokémon with higher max IVs. Here’s how it all works:

Catch Combo Chain
31+ 4

What this means, basically, is that if you catch at least 31 of the same species of Pokémon in a row, during the same catching session, you’re guaranteed to have at least four IVs at the maximum score of 31.

Square Enix’s classic game works differently in handheld mode than it does in docked mode. When in your hands, you must use touchscreen controls to play since it doesn’t recognize Joy-Cons. This means that if you’re playing this game on the Switch Lite, your only option will be to touch the screen, which might not be appealing to many people. Fix that by pairing a wireless controller to your Switch Lite.

So there you have it, every Nintendo Switch game that’s harder to play on the Nintendo Switch Lite. Some games just downright won’t play on the Switch Lite without external controllers, while only certain game features will be affected in others. At any rate, you must look into the mechanics of a game before you buy it to make sure that you have all of the necessary equipment you need to play it on your smaller Switch.

What Are Ivs In Pokmon: Let’s Go

IVs in Pokémon games stand for ‘individual values’, and are basically your Pokémon’s statistics. They dictate how much health, defence, and attack power your favourite Pokémon has.

At least, they did in Pokémon GO. In Pokémon: Let’s Go, those three values have been split into six different categories. Health, attack, and defence still make an appearance but are joined by special attack, special defence, and speed. Let’s break down what they each mean below:

Can You Use Pok Ball Plus With Switch Lite

Its an exclusive Nintendo Switch controller shaped to look like a Poké Ball from the Pokémon series. It was originally designed to be used with Lets Go, Pikachu! and Lets Go, Eevee!. Due to its fun shape and functionality, this accessory is a great one to have whether youre playing these games on your Nintendo Switch or the Switch Lite.

The motion controls allow you to mimic the action of throwing Poké Balls at Pokémon to capture them while playing the Lets Go games. A second player can also control their own Poké Ball Plus controller and play alongside player one in local co-op to help them catch Pokémon.

Outside of the Switch games, the Poké Ball Plus also works with the mobile phone app, Pokémon Go. Once synced with your phone, this unique controller alerts mobile gamers when a Pokémon appears nearby by lighting up and vibrating. You dont even have to be looking at your phone to know something showed up. Once notified, you only need to press a button to throw a virtual ball at your target. The LED on the controller will change color to let you know if you successfully caught anything. Additionally, this accessory counts your steps, allowing you to hatch incubating Eggs or earn Candy for your Buddy Pokémon.

Why Cant I Connect My Pokemon Go To My Switch

When the game doesnt work properly or when favorite apps decide not to cooperate, it causes frustration. Some players reported difficulties pairing Pokemon Go accounts with the console but the Reddit community found a solution even faster than the creators of the game themselves.

As for most problems these days, the good old-fashioned turn off turn on tactic works in this case as well. Make sure youve disconnected the Joy-Con controllers from the Switch and disconnect all connected Bluetooth devices from the mobile device.

It is very important to enable all application permissions for Pokemon Go. Then you need to reset the mobile device and Switch and you should be ready to catch some Pokemon.

Combining Pokemon Go and Lets Go is actually a great move. Aside from collecting more XP, you no longer need to grind Charmander from scratch but just simply transfer the wicked Charizard to the Switch and continue winning battles. You catch Pokemon with a Poké ball. A real, tangible Poké ball. Okay, somewhat real. Well done, Nintendo, good move! With a distinctive vibe of old Pokemon games, this game takes me back to my childhood. The Pokemon phenomenon won over peoples hearts all around the globe. From simple Gameboy screens to augmented reality. Its fascinating to observe the game evolve throughout the years. You gotta buy yourself this bundle and you gotta catch em all!

What All Pokemons Can You Get In Let’s Go Pikachu

Needless to say, the game starts with Pikachu as your buddy so you would automatically have this electric-type Pokemon by your side. Besides all the common Pokemons, the game also has some exclusive Pokemons like Oddish, Growlithe, and Sandshrew.

Another unique thing in the Nintendo Switch Pokemon game is the âMega Evolutionâ feature. In this, you can evolve a Pokemon even beyond their last stage, using a mega evolution feature. For instance, you can get Mega Venusaur, Mega Blastoise, Mega Charizard X/Y, and so on. If you try hard, then you can even battle with some legendary Pokemons such as Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Just be sure that you have all the needed gears and Pokeballs to catch them all!

How To Connect Pokemon Go To Switch Lite

The Only Ways to Control Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee for Nintendo Switch

Switch Lite is a newer and slightly different version of the Switch. Its cheaper but it also doesnt have all the features that its big brother, the Switch, has. Apart from the smaller dimensions, it only supports handheld mode and does not support all games. Joy-Con controllers must be purchased additionally and the Switch Lite cannot be connected to a TV.

The positive thing is that it still supports Lets Go and can be paired with Pokemon Go. Just like Big Brother, in a few taps through the settings, you pair your Pokemon Go with a Switch and send your Pokemon to Go Park. Go Park an in-game location where you explore, interact with other Pokemon, and of course catch them.

However, for trainers, who play Lets Go on Switch Lite, some things may be a little harder.

For carefree playing and taking advantage of all the benefits of a game, such as a Partner Powers, trainers should buy Joy-Con controllers which is an additional cost. With that said, its a better idea to just invest a little more and buy a regular Switch.

How Do I Get Mew

To catch Mew in Pokémon GO, you have to complete the Special Research quest A Mythical Discovery. This is located in the same place as your Field Research quests. Tap on the binoculars icon, then visit the Special column. Complete all of the objectives for the Special Research Quest and youll collect Mew at the end.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

I know what youre thinking: The Switch Lite, with its relatively small 5.5-inch screen, tiny buttons and unswitchable nature, is not a good home for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. However, I dont think all those limitations should condemn Switch Lite owners to budget-priced indie side scrollers and mobile ports. The Switch Lite, like the original model, was destined for bigger things and what could be bigger than Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? As far as fighting games go, it falls into that easy to learn, hard to master camp, meaning the Switch Lites downsized inputs should suffice for the games simple control scheme. Plus, theres a good chance that all your friends already have Smash Ultimate. And trust me, you havent endured true FOMO until all your pals are brawling online without you. Adam Ismail

Can I Catch Pokmon With Flawless Ivs

Absolutely, though there’s no sure-fire method of doing so. You’ll have to get to a catch combo chain of at least 31, then continue to catch Pokeémon of the same species until you see the ‘Best’ rating for each of the IVs.

It’s worth noting that your chances of catching a flawless Pokémon don’t increase the more Pokémon you catch after you’ve reached the max catch chain combo score of 31. Instead, you’ll continue to get Pokémon with the four maxed IVs and will have a standard chance of the two remaining IVs being perfect too.

The Nintendo Switch Lite tends to do better with smaller, self-contained games that you can play on the go.

The Nintendo Switch Lite is here, and the reviews are in: If you want a small, sleek, entirely handheld gaming system, this is the gadget to pick up. With its smaller, sharper screen, dedicated D-pad and array of colorful chassis, the Switch Lite offers a few advantages over its full-size cousin. However, since you can’t dock the Switch Lite to a TV, the small console tends to do better with smaller, self-contained adventures that you can play on the go.

I surveyed Tom’s Guide staff members to get their Switch Lite picks. There’s something here for everyone, from bite-sized puzzles, to medium-sized adventures, to surprisingly big multiplayer matches. The Switch Lite itself may be lightweight, but the games you can play on it are anything but.

The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is probably the best game on Switch. But it’s also an enormous game that requires a big screen to fully appreciate its visuals and level design. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is the perfect compromise for the undockable Switch Lite, combining clever puzzles and a satisfying gameplay loop with a smaller world map and more focused scope. Link’s Awakening is a faithful remake of the 1993 Game Boy classic, complete with the dreamlike story and devious dungeons that made the game such a hit in the first place. This time around, though, the game has a gorgeous full-color aesthetic and adorable 3D character models that resemble animated wooden dolls. While Link’s Awakening may hold the dubious honor of being the second-best Zelda game on the Switch, it’s a perfect choice for the Switch Lite.

Every Game That Works Better On Nintendo Switch Than On Switch Lite

The Nintendo Switch Lite is a dedicated handheld gaming system that doesnt have removable Joy-Cons, cant dock to a TV, doesnt include motion controls, and doesnt include a kickstand. The lack of motion controls and removable controllers, in particular, make it so that the Switch Lite has issues playing some of the best Nintendo Switch games, whether that be the small number of Switch games that dont support handheld mode or the much larger number of games that rely on motion controls and Joy-Con waving.

Now, if you pair a Pro Controller or Joy-Cons to the Switch Lite, you can still play most of these games. However, since there is no kickstand on the smaller Switch, youll need a great stand to prop up your gaming system.
