Which Pokmon To Use In An Zamazenta Raid In Pokmon Go
As a Fighting-type Pokémon, Zamazenta is vulnerable to Flying-, Psychic-, and Fairy-type attacks. Whenchoosing six Pokémon for your Zamazenta Raid Battle lineup, it helps to choosePokémon that have a Flying-, Psychic-, or Fairy-type Fast Attack and ChargedAttack if you want to deal as much damage as possible. APokémon that shares a type with these attacks will benefit from a same-typeattack bonus, which will allow these attacks to deal an additional 20% damage.
Remember that you’re battling Zamazenta’s Hero of ManyBattles form, which is only Fighting type, unlike its Fighting- and Steel-typeCrowned Shield form. If you have multiple Flying-, Psychic-, or Fairy-type Pokémon, choose Pokémon with the highest CP and best overall stats. Remember that speed ofvictory affects how many Premier Balls you will receive after a successful RaidBattle, so bring your strongest Pokémon and defeat Zamazenta as quickly aspossible.
Where Can You Find Flying Type Pokemon In Pokemon Go
Youll also want to nab quite a few of these if youre hoping to get a gold Bird Keeper medal in Pokemon GO, so heres where you can find them. The best thing about Flying type Pokemon is that they can be found anywhere at any time. In fact, two of the most common Pokemon currently in Pokemon, Pidgey and Spearow, fly.
Crobat: Air Slash & Sludge Bomb
Air Slash is one of the more powerful quick attacks to have, doing 14 DPS and restoring 8.3 energy per second. This all builds up to a particularly powerful poison attack. Sludge Bomb, which does 41.7 DPS is not as powerful as Sky Attack but sometimes having a poison attack can put you above the rest.
However, if you wanted a fully flying-type moveset then the next best thing would be Air Cutter which does 26.7 DPS.

Psychic-type Pokemon such as Mewtwo, Gardevoir, Espeon, and even Lugia can easily defeat Poison Pokemon. Use Psychic or Psycho Boost to defeat these Pokemon.
Pokemon Go: Best Rock
Rock is home to some Pokemon that hit hard, making them great as generalists, as well as uber-powerful against the handful of Flying-type Legendaries with a weakness to Rock, like Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Lugia, Ho-oh, Yveltal, the Forces of Nature, and more. At lower tiers, they’ll also do a great job against Mega Raids like both Mega Charizard forms, and against common gym defenders like Dragonite and Salamence.
Once considered the greatest Rock-type attacker, Tyranitar lost its Rock-type throne to Rampardos in the same way it lost its Dark-type throne to Mega Houndoom and some others. But, its Shadow form places it back on top, so long as it has Smack Down, which can be a harsh barrier, given its exclusivity. You’ll also want to watch out for those all-too-common Fighting-types, which have plagued Tyranitar as a double weakness since its introduction in Gen II of the main series. The addition of Fairy-types hasn’t helped, either.
For a more obtainable attacker that doesn’t need some Elite TMs to be a viable Rock-type attacker, look to the Gen IV Fossil Pokemon, Rampardos. This hard-hitting dinosaur is what knocked Tyranitar off its throne, easily ranking #1 in DPS, even ahead of Shadow Tyranitar and Legendary Terrakion. However, Rampardos plummets down the list in terms of TDO, sitting behind even Pokemon that aren’t mentioned in this section. It’ll hit really hard, but only a few times before going down to one of Rock’s many weaknesses.

Pve Defensive Moves Explanation
On defense, Rock Smash does over double the DPS of Pinsirs other fast moves.
X-Scissor is fast and frequent, but ineffective against Pinsirs counters.
Vice Grip is overall just a slightly worse version of X-Scissor.
Superpower has better coverage than X-Scissor but is more reactable.
Submission is a downgrade due to its inferior base power.
- A 1-bar charge move like Close Combat is poor due to Pinsirs low bulk.

Pokemon Go: Best Ground
Ground, often considered a great type in the main series, offers some excellent options in Pokemon GO. Good against five types , Ground-types will serve you pretty well. Unfortunately, the Ground-type movepool isn’t fantastic by any means, especially with Earthquake’s low viability compared to its absolute dominance in the main series. Other types will often serve better, but Ground-types do have niche use in sunny weather or against Electric-types.
Shadow Mamoswine and Shadow Swampert both dominate in damage output and DPS, but only with charge moves that aren’t Ground-type . If Shadow Mamoswine has Bulldoze, it’ll fall behind a bit from its Avalanche counterpart, but not terribly so, still holding a spot among the best Ground-types.
If you want a Ground-type with two Ground-type moves, your best bet is Landorus in either of its forms, though Therian slightly edges out Incarnate. Not far behind are Mamoswine and Swampert in their non-Shadow forms , followed by Groudon with a massive TDO of 848.72. When it receives its Primal Reversion at some point, it’ll be even better, though it’ll take on a double weakness to Water. If Niantic ever gets around to releasing Precipice Blades, Groudon’s signature move, it’ll absolutely go from one of the top Ground attackers to one of the best Pokemon in general.
Best Pokmon By Type In Pokmon Go
Well break down each Pokémon type and the best attackers in the group. Pf course, theres more options than just standard Pokémon these days. We have included Mega evolutions where applicable. For Shadow variants though, we will instead place their normal versions on the list. If you have a Shadow form of one on the list then just know that it is a better attacker than what the list indicates, so if you can power it up, you should.
The types are in alphabetical order and will include the best moveset for each Pokémon listed. This can change often, so be sure to come back to see if there are any updates. Well perform periodic maintenance as necessary, but it may lag behind as new species are introduced in Pokémon GO.

Pokemon Go: Best Fire
Fire-types are often widely beloved by fans, and the best Fire-types are nothing but abundant. You have a ton of choices when looking for a good Fire-type Pokemon, especially with how many Legendaries, Starters, and Mega Evolutions sport the type and great offensive prowess.
The current reigning is Mega Charizard Y, though its grip on the top spot is shaky, with Mega Blaziken looming just around the corner, ready to pounce and take its place. One of a handful of Pokemon to reach a TDO over 1,000 , M-Charizard Y is going to really tear through the competition. Mega Charizard X is also fantastic, while slightly lower in terms of overall damage output compared to its twin. However, X doesn’t have the double weakness to Rock like Y does, which is something to consider. It falls behind the other Mega ‘zard in overall TDO and DPS, but it’s still one of the best Pokemon on the game, and the boost it gives to other Dragon-types while it’s on the field is not something to ignore. Keep X to being a Dragon-type attacker, and let Y take up the Fire-type mantle of the family.
Shadow Moltres, which also suffers from that double Rock-weakness, surpasses Mega Charizard X in terms of DPS, but only slightly, and falls behind on TDO. Despite this, it’s one of the best Pokemon in the game, and will absolutely dominate as either a Fire-type or a Flying-type dealer’s choice.
The Best Moveset For Altaria In Pokmon Go
It has its head in the clouds.
Image via Niantic
Altaria is one of the more dangerous Pokémon in Pokémon Go. Its a Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon, meaning it contains some pretty fearsome attacks and is capable of beating a variety of Pokémon given its stats. However, you want to make sure you teach it the best moveset it can learn, and with the addition of moonblast, its moveset is about to see some changes. Altaria is a good choice, and we highly recommend them.
Altaria is a Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon. Its going to be weak against Dragon, Fairy, Ice, and Rock-type moves, but its resistant against Bug, Fighting, Fire, Grass, Ground, and Water-type attacks. When using Altaria for PvP, it has a maximum CP of 2,004, an attack of 123, a defense of 170, and a stamina of 154. Because of its lower CP, we highly recommend you use this Pokémon in the Great League, but players have been known to use it in the Ultra League.
These are all of the moves Altaria can learn.

Its a long, sharp beak that boosts the power of Flying-type moves. An item to be held by a Pokémon. Its a stone tablet that boosts the power of Flying-type moves.
Pokemon Go: Best Grass
Grass is not typically considered an offensive type. Like Poison, it makes use of other strategies instead of pure damage output, like sleep and paralysis conditions, health-sapping moves, and more. However, Grass-type attackers see a lot of use against the all-too-common Rock/Ground combo, as well as being one of Water’s only two weaknesses. In the battle of Rock, Ground, and Water, Grass is good against all of them. Additionally, Grass is often paired with a secondary typing that allows it some more utility, depending on the context.
Venusaur is already a bulk monster, but that’s increased heavily by its Mega Evolution. Mega Venusaur sports an absolutely unbelievable max stat spread of 241 in Attack, 246 in Defense, and 190 in Stamina. This Grass/Poison-type is going to be standing for a long, long time, giving it massive TDO of ~1,005 points. The Grass-type move given to all Grass starters on Community Day, Frenzy Plant, is an extremely attractive factor. It’s easily one of the best moves in the game, and paired with the fast energy generation of Vine Whip, Mega Venusaur is a force to be reckoned with. It will one day be outclassed by Mega Sceptile, but for now, this bulky plant dino is here to soak up damage and deal it back out with ease.
Following Mega Venusaur is some other Grass-types with good bulk and decent TDO.

How This List Is Calculated
The Pokemon on this page are listed by type in descending order of power. The metric used to decide their placement is DPS^3*TDO. This metric puts a heavy emphasis on DPS, but also takes into consideration TDO in order to attempt to discover the strongest overall performance of a given Pokemon when compared to others. Because of the way that this metric works, the Pokemon here are not always ordered according to which has the highest DPS. It’s entirely possible that the highest DPS option may show up 2nd or 3rd within a type if its bulk is low enough. It’s also possible that Pokemon not listed on this page could potentially find niche utility in future raids, but rest assured that the Pokemon near the top of these lists are exemplary candidates for their given types.
If you’d like to see how these Pokemon rank yourself, we recommend that you take a look at the DPS/TDO Spreadsheet, which is what we’ve used to make these calculations.
The Best Pokmon In Pokmon Go By Type
There are hundreds of Pokémon available in Pokémon Go, and hundreds more still to come as the game passes through the generations. Combine that with the fact that attacking and defending Gyms, tackling raids, and fighting in PvP all require different strengths in different areas, and it’s pretty clear that there are no objectively ‘best’ Pokémon for every scenario.
It’s still useful, though, to know which Pokémon are generally strong that can be used for each, and the easiest way to divvy them up is by Type. Here’s an at-a-glance look at the strongest Pokémon by type right now, including the best options for their moves at the time of writing.
Note that we’ve opted for the best moves of that type where available, which might not be the optimal damage output moves for that Pokémon overall. Rayquaza, for example, does more damage as a Dragon-type attacker with Dragon-type moves. But it’s also the strongest Flying-type attacker in the game if you equip it with Air Slash and Aerial Ace, as we’ve noted below. So use this table if you’re trying to find a good Pokémon of a certain type, specifically, even though it’s good for getting a general sense of the overall best Pokémon in the game, too.

Pokemon Go: The Best Dragonite
Dragon-types are widely considered the best and most viable Pokemon, generally speaking. Of course, the only type theyre good against is other Dragon-types, but with the sheer number of Dragon-type Legendaries, thats more than enough for them to be useful. Dragon-types are typically considered great generalists, having use against a wide variety of matchups since they arent resisted by much, and the strongest dragons have high DPS and Attack stats.
The top spot amongst Dragon-types is changing all of the time, in part because new Dragon-type Legendaries are introduced all the time, but also because they frequently receive new moves, Shadow forms, and Mega Evolutions. Currently, the top spot in many respects belongs to Shadow Dragonite, though Shadow Salamence isnt far behind it. With a massive Attack stat and decent bulk, Shadow Dnite can achieve DPS and TDO stats of 22.87 and 1,081.28, respectively. Itll hit hard and stay standing for a long time.

Pokemon Go Type Chart: Strengths Effectiveness Weaknesses And Resistances Explained
In Pokemon Go, Every type of Pokemon has four different relationships with other types any trainer should be aware of. That is:
- Strong Against: represented on our type chart as Strong Vs, attacks from the listed type against the type listed here will deal additional damage to your opponent. This is ‘Super Effective’.
- Weak Against: represented here as Weak Vs, attacks from the listed type against these types will do less damage to the enemy. This is ‘Not very effective…’
- Resistance: listed as resist, taking attacks from this type will do much less damage to you.
- Vulnerable: your type’s weaknesses. Attacks of these types will deal more damage – watch out!
So, for instance, Offensively a Ground-type Pokemon/move is Strong against Poison, Rock, Steel, Fire and Electric types, dealing double damage to them. It only does 50% damage against Flying, Bug and Grass Pokemon. Defensively, that same Ground-type Pokemon will take reduced damage from Poison, Rock and Electric Pokemon but also take double damage from Water, Grass and Ice – which is vulnerable to.
With that explained, let’s get into the Pokemon Go type chart in full.
