Where To Find Bulbasaur In Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee

In Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu & Eevee, you will start with either Pikachu or Eevee depending on your game choice. Yes, you can get them both, as they are not version exclusives along with other classic Pokemon.

These Pokemon are classic and definitely worth having for any Pokemon fan. To get them you will have to get their earlier forms. They are powerful and have *Mega Evolutions* in the game which you can use.

These can be found in the wild and can be received as a gift from other NPCs out in the world. In this Pokemon Lets Go Guide, we will tell you how to get Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle in different ways.

How To Catch Squirtle In Pokemon Lets Go

The water-type Squirtle is the third and last the original starter and the last one you encounter in the wild.

There are only two locations where Squirtle spawns, the first of which is to the left of Nugget Bridge in the patch of grass along the river.

Squirtles second spawn area is much farther into the game, in Seafoam Islands the same spot where you encounter the legendary bird Articuno.

As with the other two starters, you will need to chain a Pokemon combo for Squirtle to spawn.

Your other option is to receive a free Squirtle from a police officer as soon as you enter Vermillion city.

Before this happens, however, you will have to catch at least 60 Pokemon in total.

Squirtle evolves into Wartortle at level 16 and then Blastoise at level 36.

Then after you defeat all eight Gym leaders, Professor Oak will give you a Key Stone and a Blastoisinite to Mega Evolve your Blastoise in battle.

Dratini Dragonair And Dragonite

One of the most popular and desired rare Pokemon, other than Mew and Mewtwo, has to be Dratini and its eventual evolutions. As a pure Dragon-type Pokemon, this one will be very high on collectors’ lists.

Dratini can be found in the wild on Route 10, but is a very rare spawn. Dragonair can also be found here, but as you might have guessed, it’s an even rarer spawn. If evolving your Pokemon isnt your thing, and youd rather literally catch them all, Dragonite does spawn in the wild, if very rarely. If you are lucky enough, you will find Dragonite flying over nearly all routes, as a rare spawn.

Charmander In Pokemon Let’s Go: Charmander Location For Gift & Wild Encounters

As with the other classic starter Pokemon, Charmander can be grabbed in one of two ways – through an NPC or in a natural catch, albeit a rare and difficult one. Here’s how the two processes work for the fire lizard :

  • To get a Charmander without catching, you’ll want to first reach Cerulean City. This, again, is quite early in the game. North of Cerulean City you’ll find the Nugget Bridge leading to Route 24. The story of Pokemon Let’s Go will bring you this way anyway. As you exit the Nugget Bridge onto Route 24 proper, look north – here you’ll see a trainer standing against some sheer rock face, and he has a Charmander with him. Like Bulbasaur, he has a requirement – if you’ve caught 50 Pokemon or more, he’ll give you his Charmander.
  • For your wild Charmander location, you’ll want to head to either Route 3, Route 4 or the Rock Tunnel that connects them. Again, this is a rare encounter that doesn’t even show up on the habitat section of the Pokedex, so you’ll need to do a lot of grinding, building up catch combos and using lures to try to lure out a Charmander. They are there, though.

Where To Find Bulbasaur Locations In Pokemon Lets Go

To catch Bulbasaur in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee, youll want to go to Viridian Forest. Thats the location between Pewter City and Viridian City. As far as we know, this is the location that has the most chances of a Bulbasaur spawning. Make sure to have a lure on you and use it while looking for Bulbasaur. They dont spawn that often thats why we recommend using a lure. Also, make sure you comb through the grassy areas to increase your chances .

Alternatively, you can wait until youve caught a total of thirty Pokemon. It doesnt matter which you just have to capture thirty total. After that, make your way to Cerulean City. Go inside the house immediately to the left of the Pokemon Center in the city. Talk to the woman in the orange sweater and green skirt that lives inside. She will give you a Bulbasaur. This is probably the easiest method to get a Bulbasaur by the time you get there, youll likely will have caught thirty Pokemon.

How To Find Bulbasaur

Bulbasaur Starter Location in Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu and Let’s GO Eevee! (Viridian Forest Method)

There are two ways to find Bulbasaur. One of the lasses in Viridian Forest mentions her friend saw a Bulbasaur there but didn’t record it with a Pokedex, so she doesn’t know whether it’s real or not.

Rest assured, dear trainer, it’s real and you can come across one here.

The other way is through normal gameplay, since the woman in the house next to Cerulean City’s Pokemon Center gives you a Bulbasaur, assuming you’ve caught 30 Pokemon or more by then .

Increasing Your Chances Of Rare Pokemon Spawns

If you’re incredibly patient, you might run across one of these rare spawns without doing anything special. But if you want to increase your chances of encountering rare Pokemon, there are two things you can do.

The first is using lures, just like you would in Pokemon GO. These items make you more likely to run across a rare spawn for a set period of time, with regular Lures being the least effective, and Max Lures obviously being the most.

The other way is through Catch Combos. You can learn more about those in our catching guide, but here’s a breakdown of how they affect your chances of coming across rare Pokemon:

  • Chains of 1-5 double your chances of encountering rare Pokemon
  • Chains of 5-10 triple the chance
  • Chains of 10-20 means you’re 4 times as likely to encounter rare ‘mon, and so on, until…
  • Chain of 31 and beyond stay at 6 times more likely to run across a rare spawn.

Bulbasaur Charmander And Squirtle Spawn Locations

The most obvious way to obtain the classic starter Pokemon is in the wild. Bulbasaur and Charmander are roaming the wild at relative early stages of the game. Squirtle on the other hand cant be caught until later.

Furthermore, they arent common like Pidgey, so you might have to do a bit of grafting before you encounter them. Here are their spawn locations in the Kanto region:

  • Bulbasaur: Viridian Forest
  • Charmander: Route 3 & 4 and Rock Tunnel
  • Squirtle: Route 24 & 25, Seaform Island

How To Catch Charmander In Pokemon Lets Go

Charmander is the second starter which you can encounter in the wild as you progress through the world map.

Much like Bulbasaur, the odds of Charmander spawning are low, but you can work around this by combo chaining Pokemon.

You can find a Charmander on Route 4, on the road connecting Pewter City and Cerulean City and inside of Mt Moon.

Another spawn location is inside of Rock Tunnel on the way towards Lavender town, Route 21, Route 22 and Route 23.

If you are lucky, you might find one just south of Palette Town and in-between Indigo Plateau and Viridian City.

Or you can avoid the hassle and talk to the man in the blue t-shirt just north of Nugget Bridge in Cerulean City to get a free Charmander.

Charmander evolves into Charmeleon at level 16 and then Charizard at level 36.

After you beat all eight Gyms, Professor Oak will give you a Key Stone and a Charizardite X and a Charizardite Y to evolve a Mega Y or Mega X version of Charizard.

Starter Pokemon In The Wild

Acquiring these Pokemon as gifts is easier than catching them, plus, the gift Pokemon will usually have better stats. But if you want to, all three original Starter Pokemon can be found in the wild in Pokemon: Let’s Go.

However, they’re Rare Spawns. Meaning, for them to appear, you must begin a Catch Combo. To do this, simply catch the same species of Pokemon many times in a row. The higher your Catch Combo, the more likely a rare Pokemon – including Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander – will spawn. These list which locations you will be able to find them.

How To Find Bulbasaur In Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu And Eevee

It’s quite simple to find Bulbasaur, and capturing the Grass-type Kanto starter Pokemon is a cinch, too. First, you’ll need to head out to Viridian Forest, which is located around Route 2. You can find it right after you leave Pallet Town, your starting destination in-game, as it’s a required destination to head to if you want to make it through to Viridian City. All you need to do to get there is go north of Pallet Town and continue ahead, essentially there’s nowhere else you can go after that.

When you’re traversing Viridian Forest, you’ll need to keep your eye out for Bulbasaur to spawn, because it is a very rare Pokemon to see wandering about in the tall grass. They won’t pop up throughout the entirety of the forest, either, unless you’re lucky. Instead, enter Viridian Forest, and then head toward the end of the pathway until you see the exit. Typically, you’ll see Pikachu spawning here as well, at a much higher rate than normal.

Drop a Lure item to increase the Pokemon spawn rate, and troll the small patch of grass near the exit until you see that familiar green bulb sprout up from the grass. A Lure won’t guarantee a Bulbasaur, but it can certainly help increase your chances. Eventually, a Bulbasaur should pop out of the grass, and all that’s left to do is catch it. If you find a few, catch two a Venusaur is always good to have around.

Where To Get Charmander In Pokemon Let’s Go

If you want a free Charmander trade, simply head to Route 24, which is the pathway north of Cerulean City that you must cross the Nugget Bridge to reach. The main story will take you here in search of the famous Pokemon fanatic Bill. Up on route 24, directly north of Nugget Bridge, you’ll see a trainer standing near the hills with a Charmander. Chat to him and you’ll find out he wants to off-load the cute little critter. He’ll want you to have caught at least 50 Pokemon before he hands Charmander over.

Charmander also spawns rarely out in the wild, too. I’ve seen them on Route 3, Route 4 after the cave, and also in the Rock Tunnel, but this is once again a rare, infrequent spawn, so stock up on lures.

How to get Bulbasaur in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu & Eevee

Pokémon trainers can find Bulbasaur very early on in Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu and Eevee, and can even get their hands on the iconic starter Pokémon as early as Viridian Forest, along Route 2.

This is one of the first big areas you have to explore in Pokémon: Lets Go, and its an area that you have to travel through along your journey. Now, the big thing to keep in mind here is that this Bulbasaur is a rare Pokémon spawn. You can learn more about how to find rare Pokémon spawns by checking out our guide, where well present a few pointers on how to find special locations like this.

Once you enter Viridian Forest, head through the forest area until you reach the final bend in the pathright down from the exit. This is one of the best places to look for Bulbasaurthough you can find this iconic Pokémon just about anywhere in the forest if it happens to spawn here. Wed suggest tossing out a Lure to increase the chance of finding Bulbasaur, but that isnt always guaranteed to work, so well leave the decision up to you.

No matter what you decide, continue to check the route through Viridian Forest for a chance to score yourself a Bulbasaur early on. This is a great Pokémon to have in your line-up early in the game, and if youre as big a fan of Pokémon as we are, youll want it in your collection anyway.

Where To Get Squirtle In Pokemon Let’s Go

You’ll actually see Squirtle a little before you can actually catch the cheeky Pokemon, as it’s causing poor Officer Jenny trouble. It actually makes her abandon her post which lets you continue where you couldn’t before – and later, down in Vermillion City, you’ll find she’s caught the Squirtle. Can a Pokemon be put under arrest? Anyway, you know the score by now – the officer wants somebody to take care of the Squirtle and keep it out of trouble. That can be you, if you’ve caught at least 60 Pokemon – if you have, Squirtle is yours.

Like the other starters, Squirtle also exists out in the wild to be caught. Wild Squirtle can be found on Route 24, Route 25 and the Seafoam Islands – making this the latest ‘natural catch’ of these three in the game.
