Pvp Usefulness Of Eevee And Its Evolutions In Pokemon Go
The various Eevee evolutions have varying degrees of usefulness in Pokemon Go. Of the nine Pokemon, Umbreon has consistently been seen as the most useful in Go Battle League, and that doesnt really change that much with the addition of these moves to the various Pokemons arsenals. The addition of Psychic to Umbreons moveset provides it with some additional coverage against various Pokemon, but doesnt immensely improve it in either Great League or Ultra League. Jolteon and Flareon also receives some moderate boosts in effectiveness, while Espeon, Vaporeon, Leafeon, and Glaceon all receive either no real boosts or downgrades thanks to their new moves. Surprisingly, Sylveon is the Pokemon most impacted by the addition of Psyshock, and makes it a much more impactful Fairy-type attacker in the game.
If I Already Earned 70 Hearts With Sylveon Do I Have To Earn Them Again
Yes, the Evolution Task is not retroactive. They are similar to Pancham where you need to Catch 32 Dark-type Pokémon or Swirlix where you need to Give your buddy 25 treats. However, there is no progress bar for Sylveon.
Once you earn 70 hearts, a separate evolution button will appear for Sylveon. You can also switch Eevee out as your buddy and the number of hearts will continue to be tracked.

Naming Tricks For All Of The Eevee Evolutions
Generally, it costs 25 Candy to evolve Eevee. However, with eight different possibilities, you might wonder how to guarantee a specific Eevee evolution. One way is to change Eevees name into one of the following:

Fun fact: these Eevee evolutions arent just assigned random nicknames. These names are based on some characters in the anime or the core games. The nicknames for Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon are the names of the three eldest Eevee brothers: Rainer, Sparky, and Pyro. Rainers signature Pokémon is Vaporeon, Sparkys is Jolteon, and Pyros is Flareon. Sakura and Tamao are two of the five Kimono sisters who appear in Troubles Brewing theyre the trainers of Espeon and Umbreon, respectively. Linnea, Rea, and Kira are Leafeons, Glaceons, and Sylveons respective Pokémon Sun and Moon trainers. Theyre three of the eight trainers you have to beat to get the Eevee Z-Crystal in the game.
To rename Eevee, simply tap on the Pokéball icon at the bottom center of the screen, then on Pokémon, and select the Eevee you want to evolve. After that, tap on the pen icon beside Eevees name, and type in the nickname of the Eevee evolution you want to get.
Earn Buddy Hearts With Eevee
The standard way to evolve Eevee into Sylveon is simply to earn enough hearts with it while it’s set as your Buddy Pokemon. You’ll earn hearts with Eevee by feeding, playing, and taking snapshots of it. You’ll need to earn 70 hearts for it to evolve into Sylveon, however–so while this process is straightforward, it’s also a bit time-consuming. Once you’ve earned 70 hearts, the question mark on Eevee’s Evolve button will change to a silhouette of Sylveon.

All The Eevee Evolutions Are Available In Pokmon Go
Leafeon and Glaceon, however, take their names from trainers in Pokémon Sun and Moon rather than the anime. Youll encounter these two trainers in your quest to earn the Eevium Z Linnea, of course, has Leafeon in her team and Rea has Glaceon.
Finally, Sylveon also takes its nickname Kira from one of the Eevium Z trainers. Though, if youre a Death Note fan, this name will have a different meaning for you
Once you have called your Eevee into one of the above names, you should quit and reload the app to double check the name change has taken place, which is important considering the servers can lean to be on the unreliable side.
Once youve double checked the new name is indeed in place, then evolve the Eevee as you would any other Pokémon by feeding it Candy, and it should take the form of your chosen type.

Pokemon Go Sylveon Nickname Trick
First up is the nickname trick you can use to get either your very first Sylveon to tick it off the Pokedex, or save until you have a shiny/100% Eevee you want to dedicate to be the best Sylveon possible.
If youre unsure how this works, all you have to do is change the nickname of the Eevee you want to evolve to Kira. The question mark in the evolve button should change to a silhouette of Sylveon if you do not see that silhouette, do not press evolve and instead restart your app then try again. This is a one-time use trick so once youve used the name Kira once, youll have to follow the method below for any more Sylveons you want to add to your collection.

What You Need To Do When Evolving Sylveon
The method is a bit easy, but it may take you a bit of time. Much like the other evolutions, you need to raise your Eevees Friendship at the appropriate amount. The catch is that the Eevee needs to have a Fairy-type move learned so that it evolves into Sylveon the next time it levels up with the right amount of Friendship.
The good thing is that Eevee from Generation VI onwards has a Fairy-type move called Baby-Doll Eyes when it reaches level 9. It can also learn another Fairy-type move at level 29 which is Charm. All you need to do is to have just one of those two, and when your Eevee has a high enough Friendship, it will evolve into Sylveon the next time it levels up.

If you have a Fairy-type move on your Eevee, then all you have to do is to just increase its Friendship. It will take priority over Espeon or Umbreon when your Eevee levels up with a high amount of Friendship. Sadly, there isnt a sure-fire way of obtaining any of them after youve exhausted the single-use naming trick. You can still get another Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon by evolving Eevee with 25 Candy, but what youll get will all be up to the random generator. Luckily, you wont have a hard time finding or catching an Eevee since its a common Pokémon in the game. Just play frequently, and youll have enough Eevees to evolve into any of the three original Eevee evolutions. However, if youre having a hard time getting a particular one, you can always try trading with other players.
What Are Eevee’s Other Evolutions
Aside from Sylveon, Pokémon GO players can evolve their Eevee’s into Jolteon, Vaporeon, Flareon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon and Glaceon.
To convert Eevee into one of its other evolutions, you’ll need to feed it 25 Eevee candies and nickname each Eevee as the following:

How To Get And Use The Glacial Lure & Mossy Lure To Get Glaceon And Leafeon
The final current Eeveelutions available in Pokemon Go are Glaceon and Leafeon, and this duo has the most specific evolution method yet.
First of all, don’t forget that you can do the name trick once again to get Glaceon and Leafeon for the first time. As detailed above, name your Eevee Rea to have it evolve to Glaceon, and name your Eevee Linnea to have it evolve to Leafeon. After that, however, you’ll need to fulfil special requirements to evolve more of these Pokemon.
Specifically, in order to evolve more Eevee into Glaceon or Leafeon, you’ll need some new items: the Glacial Lure and the Mossy Lure. These two new types of Lure Module are available in the shop and will soon be appearing as Field Research Rewards. These lures exist to make you more able to catch different Pokemon – the Glacial lures in Water and Ice type Pokemon, while the Mossy attracts Bug and Grass types.
There’s an added benefit to these, however: when they’re placed, they can impact Eevee Evolution. Simply place one of the lures in a Pokestop if you place the Mossy Lure you’ll be able to evolve any Eevee you have into Leafeon while standing in that Pokestop’s radius . If you place the Glacial Lure on a Pokestop, that’s when you’ll be able to evolve into Glaceon – just remain within the Pokestop’s radius. This works even if you didn’t place the lure, too, so you can share this chance with other players.

What Time Is Considered Day/night To Evolve Espeon/umbreon
Day and night are based your local time. But they can be determined by looking at the environment and sky in-game. If its day in-game, you can evolve in to an Espeon. If its night in-game, you can evolve in to an Umbreon. Another way to check is to look at the silhouette on the evolve button to see which evolution the game will give you.
What Does Buddy Adventure Allow You To Do In Pokmon Go
Once you reach Trainer level 2, Buddy Adventure introduces a series of new activities and benefits:
- You can play with and feed berries to your Buddy in AR mode
- Your Buddy will follow you on the map screen
- Increasing your Buddy level unlocks a range of perks, including additional aid during the catch phase, a CP boost, and finding items
- Up to three players can share the same AR space with their Pokémon to take a picture
As before, walking a set distance will earn you Candy, and this still works outside of the Buddy system meaning you dont have to have them on the map in Adventure mode for this to work, in case you forget to fed them regularly.
You can also swap between multiple Buddies per day, allowing you to earn the above perks across multiple Pokémon.

How To Play With And Feed Your Buddy In Pokmon Go
Lets start with the basics. To play with your Buddy in Pokémon Go, make sure youre first Trainer Level 2 and have a Buddy assigned, then tap the Buddy icon in the lower left corner of the screen, next to your Trainer Profile.
Next, press the Play! button. Your phone camera will then activate. If you are in AR mode, you must find a flat surface. Point towards it until yellow footprints appear, then tap.
If it then says you are too close to your Buddy, back away a step or two, and it should appear.
If youre struggling, remember you can disable AR mode in the Settings, so the Pokémon will simply appear on the screen.
With the Pokémon visible, you can play by rubbing it. You can also feed it by tapping the Berry icon.
Unlike during the catch phase where berries are simply tapped, on the Buddy screen they must be thrown like a Poké Ball to your Buddys mouth. You dont lose your Berry if you miss however, so keep trying!
Once they are fully fed, they will join you on an Adventure, where they can start earning Hearts for that day

How To Get Glaceon And Leafeon During Community Day
Eevees Leaf and Ice-type evolutions both have their standard methods of evolutions during the event.
Players will need to use a Mossy Lure Module on a Pokestop and evolve Eevee within the radius to get a Leafeon or repeat the trick with a Glacial Lure Module to get a Glaceon.
While these items do cost, Niantic has confirmed that there will be some Research during Community Day that rewards a Mossy Lure Module and a Glacial Lure Module.
