What You Need To Know About Eevee In Pokmon Go

Eevee is a Normal-type Pokémon from the first generation. Its resistant to Ghost-type Pokémon, from which it receives only 39% of damage, and its at its strongest when it uses Quick Attack and Last Resort as its moves. However, avoid matching it against Fighting-type Pokémon, like Blaziken and Gallade, since its weak to this Pokémon type.

Eevee doesnt really have the most impressive stats in Pokémon Go. Its max CP is only at 1,210, and its Attack, Defense, and Stamina stats are only at 104, 114, and 146, respectively. That said, Eevee is a good Pokémon to have because of its many different evolution forms, which all boast much higher max CPs and combat stats.

Another great thing about Eevee is that its a common Pokémon in Pokémon GO, and since its a Normal-type, you can find it in almost any location. It isnt as common as Pokémon like Rattata and Zubat, which are practically everywhere, but it shouldnt be too hard to come across and capture one either.

Go Beyond Level 40 With Eeveelutions

With the recently announced increase in the level cap, reaching the top levels in Pokémon Go now requires completing Special Level-Up Research. For level 42, Trainers need to evolve one of each of Eevee’s unique evolutions. This task isn’t retroactive either, so you will need to evolve all seven again, even if you have them already. Fortunately, most veteran trainers have tons of Eevee Candy, so even the random chance of Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon shouldn’t been too hard on your existing stash of candies.

Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon

The first three evolutions Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon were all released alongside Eevee in the original Gen Is Red and Blue titles. These were all easily acquired by using one of the three evolutionary stones on your Eevee: a Water Stone for Vaporeon, a Thunder Stone for Jolteon, or a Fire Stone for Flareon.

These items never came to exist in Pokemon GO, and instead, the result of your Eevees evolution upon using the 25 candies is left completely up to chance between the three.

If youre desperate for a particular evolution, there are specific nicknames you may use on your Eevee to guarantee obtaining each one. However, each of these names can only be used once.

The nicknames are Rainer for Vaporeon, Sparky for Jolteon, and Pyro for Flareon. If youre wondering where these nicknames came from, theyre actually from an episode of the anime titled The Battling Eevee Brothers where trainers Rainer, Sparky, and Pyro each owned a Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon, respectively.

Generation Iv Eevee Evolutions: Leafeon And Glaceon

Getting a Leafeon or a Glaceon involves Lure Modules. These are special items that you can use on PokéStops to get more wild Pokémon to appear. They come in different types and each one of them attracts specific types of Pokémon.

For Eevee to evolve into Leafeon, youll need a Mossy Lure, and as for Glaceon, youll need a Glacial Lure. You can purchase both of these items from the shop for 200 PokéCoins each. Once you have the Lure Module for the Eevee evolution you want, go to a PokéStop with the Mossy or Glacial Lure activated, and spin the PokéStop. Then, tap on the Pokéball icon at the bottom of your screen, and go to Pokémon. Select the Eevee that you want to evolve into Leafeon or Glaceon. Before tapping on the Evolve button, check the silhouette on it to make sure that youre going to get the Eevee evolution youre aiming for.

How To Get Sylveon In Pokemon Go

Sylveon, the most recent addition to the Eeveelutions, and the method to obtaining it is a bit tedious but totally worth it. Trainers can check out our Pokemon Go Sylveon guide for more in-depth details, but the gist to getting Sylveon is through the friendship meter in Pokemon Go.

Trainers need to make Eevee their buddy and earn 70 hearts with it. Again, this will take a while, but as long as trainers can maximize the amount of hearts earned each day they will eventually get to that mark. Trainers will know they received the right amount of hearts when the silhouette in the evolution area of Eevees in-game information screen shows Sylveon.

What About Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon

Unfortunately, the original three Eeveelutions are still random. Once you’ve used the nickname trick, you’re pretty much stuck to the random number generator. Fortunately, Eevee is very common and has been around since day one, so most players have entire teams of Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon, but if you’re having trouble getting the one you want, you can always trade another player.

How To Get And Use The Glacial Lure & Mossy Lure To Get Glaceon And Leafeon

The final current Eeveelutions available in Pokemon Go are Glaceon and Leafeon, and this duo has the most specific evolution method yet.

First of all, don’t forget that you can do the name trick once again to get Glaceon and Leafeon for the first time. As detailed above, name your Eevee Rea to have it evolve to Glaceon, and name your Eevee Linnea to have it evolve to Leafeon. After that, however, you’ll need to fulfil special requirements to evolve more of these Pokemon.

Specifically, in order to evolve more Eevee into Glaceon or Leafeon, you’ll need some new items: the Glacial Lure and the Mossy Lure. These two new types of Lure Module are available in the shop and will soon be appearing as Field Research Rewards. These lures exist to make you more able to catch different Pokemon – the Glacial lures in Water and Ice type Pokemon, while the Mossy attracts Bug and Grass types.

There’s an added benefit to these, however: when they’re placed, they can impact Eevee Evolution. Simply place one of the lures in a Pokestop if you place the Mossy Lure you’ll be able to evolve any Eevee you have into Leafeon while standing in that Pokestop’s radius . If you place the Glacial Lure on a Pokestop, that’s when you’ll be able to evolve into Glaceon – just remain within the Pokestop’s radius. This works even if you didn’t place the lure, too, so you can share this chance with other players.

More Eevee Evolution Tips And Tricks

At this point, you should be well-equipped to evolve your Eevee. But there are a few things that you should take note of:

• Make sure you use your best Eevee . You can check the IVs using third-party apps or you can appraise the Pokémon in the app itself. We recommend only evolving three-star Pokémon, but sometimes even a two-star Eevee can turn into a powerful gym defender, especially if you evolve it into Vaporeon which has a naturally high CP.
• Patient players may want to wait until theyre higher level so they can obtain stronger Eevee with higher CP to evolve. That way you spend less time, candy, and stardust making your evolutions powerful.

One of the most unique Pokemon in the game is Eevee. This cute Pokemon is a bit tricky to evolve into the type you want, but luckily there are a few ways that can temporarily resolve the problem.

The eight evolutions are the following: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. There are different ways to evolve Eevee into one of its evolutions. You can use the nickname trick, by using the Buddy Pokemon evolution method, by completing a specific task, and by using Lure Modules.

Now, lets see how to evolve Eevee into Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Sylveon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafon, and/or Glaceon in Pokemon Go.

How Do You Evolve More Umbreon Or Espeon In Pokmon Go

If you’ve already used the nickname trick, and want to get another Umbreon or Espeon, these two Eeveelutions can also be controlled in Pokémon Go. If you just hit the Evolve button, you will get either Vaporeon, Flareon, or Jolteon completely at random. To get Umbreon or Espeon, you need to raise your Buddy Pokémon’s Friendship level:

You can swap out Eevee for another Buddy, but you’ll have to swap Eevee back to being your Buddy before you try to evolve Umbreon or Espeon.

How To Get Espeon And Umbreon In Pokemon Go

For Espeon and Umbreon, the two Gen 2 Eeveelutions, there is a method to obtaining each. Simply add Eevee as your buddy and have it walk with you for 10km. Once that requirement is complete, evolve your Eevee during the day for Espeon and at night for Umbreon. Be careful, however, as sometimes Pokemon Go doesnt reflect night and day like in real life. Check the color of the sky in-game to make sure it is nighttime where you are before evolving.

How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon In Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go currently has Pokemon from several generations… and the most recent Eevee Evolution added to the game is Sylveon, a Pokemon added in generation 6. In the main Pokemon games, Sylveon evolves based off your Affection and Friendship stats, which maps to the Pokemon Buddy Feature that Pokemon Go has.

First of all, the nickname trick continues to work with Sylveon. To get it first, take an Eevee and rename it to Kira – then evolve it. The first time you do this, you’ll get a Sylveon. After this, however, you’ll have to evolve into Sylveon in the traditional way, as this is a one-time trick per eeveelution.

For further chances to evolve Eevee to Sylveon, you’ll need to get 70 Buddy Hearts with an Eevee – which puts your relationship with that Pokemon at the ‘Great Buddy’ level. After this, you simply need to evolve that Eevee with 25 Eevee candy, and you’ll get the fairy-type Sylveon in return.

All of these work with the Flower Crown Eevee or Shiny Eevee – so you can use these tricks to get yourself a Shiny Sylveon or a Flower Crown Sylveon.

What Are The Eevee Nicknames In Pokmon Go

Eevee has eight different evolutions , broken up into groups that evolve in different ways. In addition to these proper means of evolution, you can also guarantee an Eevee will evolve in a particular way by giving it a certain nickname. Those nicknames are:

• Vaporeon: Rainer
• Glaceon: Rea
• Sylveon: Kira

If you give an Eevee one of these names, then give it enough Candy to evolve, itll evolve into the form the name is associated with. Remember, though, these nicknames can only be used once per evolution. If you name two Eevees Pyro, only one is guaranteed to evolve into a Flareon.

Eevee Evolution Nicknames In Pokemon Go

Niantic guaranteed that players can evolve Eevee into the desired Eeveelution quickly and easily by adding a nickname to the Pokemon and then evolving it using 25 candies. This can be done to quickly fill out the Pokedex while avoiding the randomness or extra hoops associated with getting specific Eeveelutions. The list includes:

Players ought to note that this can only be done once for each Eeveelution on a players account. If a player nicknames an Eevee Tamao, evolves it into a Umbreon, and tries to repeat the process, then the second Eevee named Tamao will evolve randomly into either Jolteon, Flareon, or Vaporeon.

How To Evolve Into Espeon And Umbreon

The first time you want to get your hands on Espeon and Umbreon, you can use the name trick detailed above. Evolve an Eeevee called Tamao to get an Umbreon, or an Eevee named Sakura to evolve it into Espeon. After that, you’ll need to evolve them the old-fashioned way, by completing certain goals.

For Espeon and Umbreon, you can also evolve into them based on their in-game method of evolution in Pokemon Gold and Silver back on the Game Boy – based on the time of day. In order to do this, you’ll first need to build a relationship with your Eevee. Set them as your buddy Pokemon and walk with them as much as you can.

Once you’ve walked 10km with that Eevee as your buddy Pokemon, it’s ready to evolve into either Epseon or Umbreon. Just evolve in the day for Espeon and night for Umbreon – and this isn’t limited, you can do it as often as you like!

How To Choose Your Eevee Evolution In Pokemon Go: Jolteon Flareon Vaporeon Umbreon Espeon Leafeon And Glaceon

Eevee has a special place in our hearts. While Game Freak has released plenty of Pokemon with weird evolution quirks over the years, Eevee was the first: the cute little foxlike Pokemon has a branching evolution path, transforming into one of 8 different creatures based on 8 different Pokemon types, 7 of which are currently in Pokemon GO. Which one it evolves into is random, but you can currently control whether Eevee evolves into Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Umbreon, Espeon, Glaceon or Leafeon.

There are a couple of ways to go about it for the later creatures, but by far the easiest way is to just change your Eevees nickname and then evolve it. Here are the nicknames that correspond to each evolution:

• Jolteon: Sparky
• Glaceon: Rea
• Leafeon: Linnea

So thats what you do: get your Eevee, and then get enough candies to evolve it. Rename it one of these things, and you should be able to choose the evolution and fill out that Pokedex. Note that the naming trick only works once, so choose a nice strong Eevee to use it on. Eeveelutions are fairly versatile fighters for raids, so it helps to have a good one.

That means a ton of new and returning players, and things can be a little overwhelming at first: the game is much more complicated than it was when it first came out, and little tricks like these arent found in-game anywhere. Ill be doing some more basic guide stuff to get things caught up a little bit.

How To Evolve Eevee To Espeon And Umbreon

To get Eevee’s Generation 2 evolutions, after you use their respective nicknames, you will have to:

• Add Eevee as your buddy and:
• Walk 10 kms during the day and then evolve Eevee to get Umbreon. Make sure that the in-game sky indicates day time.
• Walk 10 kms during the night and then evolve Eevee to get Umbreon. Make sure that the in-game sky indicates night time.

As I said, there is a bit of a challenge here. Now let’s see how you can get the two Generation 4 Eevee evolutions at will.
