  • Eject button

Charizard is a powerful Pokémon, you know this, and your opposition knows this. So, its no surprise that it will become a target on the battlefield. Unfortunately, it also happens to be more of a slow mover, which means it could be overwhelmed when low on health. But not to worry, using the Eject Button teleports Charizard somewhere else, giving you either breathing room or the ability to close down an opponent.

  • Goal Accelerator

If you fancy being more of a points scorer than an enemy vanquisher, perhaps you should use Goal Accelerator, which doubles the speed of scoring goals for a short period. However, do bear in mind that it takes two minutes to regenerate.

A Special Attacker Who Rules In The Harsh Sunlight

Charizards Hidden Ability Solar Power allows it to deal damage it normally would not be able to given its Base Stats. In Sword & Shield, Max Flare allows it to set up harsh sunlight automatically, and Max Airstream allows it to boost its speed, making Charizard able to set itself up to sweep without needing the support of its team.

Pokmon Go: Best Movesets August 2021

While it may seem like Combat Power or stats are the most important factors in Pokémon Go, movesets play a critical role as well. Movesets are the combination of the fast attack and charged attack your Pokémon uses in battles.

The wonderful, terrible thing about movesets is that they’re usually determined at random. The good news is that, with Technical Machines and Elite TMs, you change your old, terrible moves. But how do you know which movesets will help your Pokémon win at PvP Trainer Battles and decimate Gyms and Raids and which will make a fight simply unwinnable? Here’s the newly updated list! And be sure to check out our best Pokémon Go accessories to take your game to the next level!

Pokemon Go: Best Poison

Best exeggutor counter?

Poison is a bit of a strange case. In the main series, it makes its paycheck with the use of the poisoned status condition and other stat- and condition-affecting trickery. But, since that stuff doesn’t really exist in Pokemon GO, Poison is reduced to the same strategy as every other type: don’t go up against your weakness, and maximize your damage output. Unfortunately, Poison has never been great at sheer damage output, so that didn’t translate to it being one of the better types in GO. With that said, it can be useful against Grass- and Fairy-types, when necessary.

The actual best Poison-type is without question Mega Gengar, but since it lacks a Poison-type fast move, we’re going to exclude it here. But, even with another type fast move, it’ll outpace the rest of the best Poison-type attackers. Mega Venusaur suffers the same problem. It’s probably the second-place contestant against Mega Gengar, and even beats it in TDO, but it has no Poison-type fast move.

As for the best Pokemon with two Poison-type moves, your best bet is Mega Beedrill with Poison Jab + Sludge Bomb. Against Grass-types, though, its fast Bug-type move, Bug Bite, will do a bit better than Poison Jab. As of now, Mega Beedrill remains a fantastic Poison-type attacker but goes down quickly, so try to hit hard with its massive max Attack before it’s taken down. As we mentioned in the Bug-type section, it’s also fantastic how cheap it is to evolve a Weedle up to Beedrill, for what that’s worth.

What If You Don’t Have The Best Movesets In Pokmon Go

Since the introduction of the Raid Battle system in June 2017, you can get Technical Machines to change your movesets. Two of the possible rewards for beating Raid Bosses are Quick TM and Fast TM, which can be used to change Quick Moves and Charge Moves respectively. Regular TMs are completely random and cannot access Legacy Moves.

Legacy Moves are special moves that were once available for a Pokémon but are no longer. Sometimes they were removed when Niantic re-balanced the game. Some were only available on Community Day or in special Raids. Either way, if a Legacy Move happens to be the best possible move for a Pokémon and you don’t have it, you cannot get it with a normal TM. Before you use a TM on any Pokémon, you should always check to see if the move you’re changing is a Legacy Move and if that move is worth having. A lot of Legacy Moves don’t perform well, but some of them are the best moves in the game.

More recently, Niantic introduced Elite TMs. These TMs are rare, and often difficult to get or expensive, but allow you to choose from any move a Pokémon can have, including Legacy Moves. They aren’t random either. You get to choose the move. Because of how hard it is to get Elite TMs, you’ll want to save them for your very best Pokémon, but hey, now you can have a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball and Psystrike!

Fire Spin Or Wing Attack* Or Dragon Breath* + Blast Burn* And Dragon Claw

Fire Spin is the more preferable fast move for Charizard, with slightly better energy gains than Air Slash, and offers Fire-type coverage. Wing Attack features the most energy generation, though by a small lead, at the cost of less damage output. Dragon Breath is a powerful move, but lacks STAB, and generally falls behind against neutral opponents.

Blast Burn is a limited move obtained through Community Day events, but it’s mandatory for optimal usage of Charizard. An incredible 2.2 DPE rating allows Charizard to output huge amounts of damage without paying high energy costs. Even when resisted, Blast Burn would still have a greater DPE value than neutral Dragon Claw, but not when it would be doubly resisted. Dragon Claw is recommended for its cheaper energy cost and Dragon-type coverage. The update to Overheat following the Dec 2019 rebalance makes it a decent choice if Blast Burn is unavailable, but a significant self debuff of -2 ATK makes it more risky and less reliable. Fire Blast costs too much energy, and Flamethrower is a direct downgrade of Blast Burn.

Pokemon Go: The Best Dragonite

Dragon-types are widely considered the best and most viable Pokemon, generally speaking. Of course, the only type theyre good against is other Dragon-types, but with the sheer number of Dragon-type Legendaries, thats more than enough for them to be useful. Dragon-types are typically considered great generalists, having use against a wide variety of matchups since they arent resisted by much, and the strongest dragons have high DPS and Attack stats.

The top spot amongst Dragon-types is changing all of the time, in part because new Dragon-type Legendaries are introduced all the time, but also because they frequently receive new moves, Shadow forms, and Mega Evolutions. Currently, the top spot in many respects belongs to Shadow Dragonite, though Shadow Salamence isnt far behind it. With a massive Attack stat and decent bulk, Shadow Dnite can achieve DPS and TDO stats of 22.87 and 1,081.28, respectively. Itll hit hard and stay standing for a long time.

Best Charizard Attacks Pokemon Go

Best Moveset of Charizard new || how to catch Charizard || charmander || Charizard pokemon go

Charizard, to some trainers’ surprise, is a fire and flying-type, despite its draconic appearance. It is most effective when placed on the offenseâeither taking down gyms or on a GO Battle Ultra League team. Its best moveset contains the quick move Fire Spin and the charged Elite TM move Blast Burn. However, some still hold strong to the power of the quick move Wing Attack.

This Pokemon has a CP ceiling of 2889. Its attack stat is 223, defense is 173, stamina is 186, and can have a hit point total of 158.

Trainers can obtain an Elite TM by placing in Rank 7 or higher in the current GO Battle League season. Elite Charged TMs allow the trainer to pick which move their Pokemon learns from a pool of all those available. This includes event and legacy moves like Blast Burn.

Pokemon GO trainers can evolve Charizard from Charmeleon using 100 candies. It can be temporarily mega-evolved into Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y using 200 Mega Energy.

As mentioned before, Charizard originally hails from the Kanto region as part of the original 151. Its Pokedex number is six. Some say that Charizard’s fire breath burns so hot that it can melt just about anything.

Best Pokmon For Pokmon Go Pvp

There are three main leagues for GO Battle League : Great League, Ultra League, and Master League. The former limits Pokémon CP at 1,500, Ultra League caps CP at 2,500 and Master League is a free-for all. Each also sometimes offers a Premier Cup the same limits apply, but no legendary Pokémon can be used.

Season 6 changed the entire structure of GBL, but the basics remain the same, so if you havent played since then well get to the changes later. As of Season 7, Niantic has also removed the walking requirement that used to be necessary in order to unlock new battles, which had been temporarily paused during the pandemic. This has remained the case for Season 8.

The tactics for each league are roughly the same, pick a Pokémon to send out first your opener, a defensive Pokémon to take hits your safe switch, and a Pokémon to wrap things up your closer.

Generally, you should make sure that no two Pokémon have similar weaknesses so you arent swept by one Pokémon you dont resist, but that rule can be bent and broken on occasion. To start with though, make sure your safe switch has a resistance to attacks that your opener is weak to. Flying-type Pokémon are often used as a safe switch due to their resistances, and it is always recommended to have a flyer on your team.

Best Charizard Moves In Pokemon Go

Charizard has had a lot of different moves, courtesy of being around for every move rework Niantic has done, so this will be a long chart.

Charizard moves in Pokemon GO

Fast Move
Dragon 17.92

*Keep in mind that STAB cycle DPS calculations just compare the different movesets and they are not Pokémon-specific

  • An important consideration however, is while these are accurate DPS listings, some of these moveset combination are impossible, such as any of the legacy moves with Blast Burn.
  • Blast Burn outdoes Overheat in any available category with any available fast move. Which makes sense, as Blast Burn is indeed the best available Fire type charge move.
  • As far as being a mixed type attacker, Wing Attack is superior to Air Slash, although not by terribly much. In any case, if you have one, it has some small utility against Grass and Bug types if weather is Windy.
  • Ember is a trophy at best, as is Flamethrower with the advent of Blast Burn.
  • Dragon Claw is best kept to surprise Dragon type attackers in gyms like Dragonite and Rayquaza, if you have it in a gym for whatever reason.

Analysis Of Litleo’s Charged Attacks

Interestingly, all of Litleo’s Charged Attacks possess the same Damage stat, meaning that it can be a bit trickier to decide upon which is the most useful in battle. As such, trainers will need to take note of the DPS stats of each attack as well as the type to come to a decision.

Firstly, Crunch is a respectable choice based solely on the fact that it is a Dark-type move and offers some coverage for Litleo if they go up against any kind of foe that resists Fire-type moves. When comparing the Fire-type moves, Flame Charge and Flamethrower, players may be a bit divided due to the amount of Energy Bars available. Flamethrower has fewer Energy Bars, which limits how much it can be unleashed and will more likely require additional charging to utilize, however, its attack speed should more than makeup for the extra charging needed and can take down foes faster than other Charged Attacks. Due to the greater overall damage output thanks to a higher DPS stat , Flamethrower is Litleo’s best Charged Attack.

Pokemon Go: Charizard’s Top Move Choices For Pve And Pvp

Almost Excellent IV Charizard

Charizard has quite a few moves at its disposal when it comes to combat, so trainers have substantial flexibility when picking a moveset that complements the Kanto starter well.

All of Charizard’s current moves in Pokemon GO can be found below:

Fast Moves

  • Blast Burn
  • Flamethrower

While many Pokemon in Pokemon GO have five to six moves in their entire collection, Charizard has five moves for both Fast and Charge moves, giving it plenty of attacks to choose from.

As such, it can be tricky to decide which are worth using TMs on. Depending on what role a trainer intends to use Charizard in, the top moveset picks are slightly different:

PvE Attack and Defense

  • When attacking gyms, raid bosses, and Team GO Rocket’s Shadow Pokemon, Charizard can obliterate its Pokemon GO opponents with Fire Spin and Blast Burn. If players want to keep a Flying-type attack in their arsenal to take advantage of type matchups, they can also run Wing Attack and Blast Burn. Blast Burn should probably stay the preferred Charge Move for Charizard in nearly any PvE situation, as the Same Type Attribute Bonus it receives makes it one of the top Fire-type PvE picks that don’t enter the Legendary Pokemon category.

Is Charizard Good In Battle

Charizard is one of the top Fire Starters to be in PvP. He is a pretty solid attacker and can give a lot of surprises to the opponent given his moveset. Charizard has been available in rewards and in raids as well, so you might have one by now. But even if you dont, trading one is pretty easy nowadays.

Analysis Of Litleo’s Fast Attacks

Unlike many other pokemon, Litleo has access to three different Fast Attacks, with all of them granting a Same Type Attack Bonus due to being Fire-type or Normal-type, just like the dual-type Litleo. To begin, Tackle is the weakest choice here, as its Damage stat is quite low. Its DPS is decent, though, despite Tackle being a Normal-type move and granting STAB, it will always be inferior compared to the other options. As for Ember and Fire Fang, the latter is the best Fast Attack for Litleo thanks to generally higher stats.

Pokemon Go: Best Ground

Ground, often considered a great type in the main series, offers some excellent options in Pokemon GO. Good against five types , Ground-types will serve you pretty well. Unfortunately, the Ground-type movepool isn’t fantastic by any means, especially with Earthquake’s low viability compared to its absolute dominance in the main series. Other types will often serve better, but Ground-types do have niche use in sunny weather or against Electric-types.

Shadow Mamoswine and Shadow Swampert both dominate in damage output and DPS, but only with charge moves that aren’t Ground-type . If Shadow Mamoswine has Bulldoze, it’ll fall behind a bit from its Avalanche counterpart, but not terribly so, still holding a spot among the best Ground-types.

If you want a Ground-type with two Ground-type moves, your best bet is Landorus in either of its forms, though Therian slightly edges out Incarnate. Not far behind are Mamoswine and Swampert in their non-Shadow forms , followed by Groudon with a massive TDO of 848.72. When it receives its Primal Reversion at some point, it’ll be even better, though it’ll take on a double weakness to Water. If Niantic ever gets around to releasing Precipice Blades, Groudon’s signature move, it’ll absolutely go from one of the top Ground attackers to one of the best Pokemon in general.
