Leveling Up Your Buddy

Your friendship with a Buddy Pokémon can level up four times, starting with Good Buddy and ending with Best Buddy. Each friendship level requires collecting a set amount of Affection Hearts, which are earned by interacting with your Buddy and playing the game with that Pokémon assigned as your Buddy.

There are four different Buddy Levels:

You can earn up to 10 Hearts a day to increase your friendship level. If your Buddys mood is Excited you can earn up to 20 Affection Hearts. You can reach the Best Buddy status in 30 days if you complete your daily tasks every day.

After acquiring the first set of 10 hearts, you can unlock the second set by reaching certain thresholds with each Activity category. These thresholds are still being researched, but it seems that theyre 200 snapshots, 20 new places to visit and a combination of other ones.

You can forcibly unlock additional 10 Hearts with use of Poffin without having completed any hearts .

How To Get Xp Fast In Pokmon Go

Though technically not the ‘fastest’ method, the ‘best’ method is by levelling a Friend to Best Friend status, netting you a whopping 100,000 XP.

This takes some time – 90 days in total – but since all it takes is exchanging Gifts back and forth daily, it’s by far and away the most lucrative XP source in the game.

Remember you can use a Lucky Egg to double this to 200,000 XP, and if you time it right, you can easily queue up multiple Best Friends to open their gifts in a single Lucky Egg use.

Beyond that, the fastest method is completing a Tier 5 raid, which will earn you 10,000 XP. With Raid Hours, you can chain multiple Tier 5 Raids in a single session, earning many times that, especially with a Lucky Egg.

The problem with this method is you need other players to help you out. If you can, it’s worth joining a local Pokémon Go – one which regularly schedules Raid attendance around Raid Hours and other events – so you have other Trainers to help you complete Raids easily.

Otherwise, a very effective means of gaining XP is evolving Pokémon one after another while a Lucky Egg multiplier is active, something which can performed solo and at your own convenience.

Evolving a creature gives you 500 XP, and if you have have enough creatures and Candy available to evolve them for a full 30 minutes, can net you around 60,000 XP with the use of a Lucky Egg.

Best Ways To Level Up Quickly In Pokemon Go

The easiest way to obtain XP in Pokemon GO is by producing good curve ball throws in Pokemon GO. Although mastering this throw is difficult, it does grant players a good amount of XP for each solid throw.

Using a lucky egg grants double XP, so timing the lucky egg with leveling up a friend to the “Best Friends” status in Pokemon GO, can grant trainers double the XP.

If trainers do have multiple Pokemon stacked up in Pokemon GO, then coupling multiple evolutions with the effect of a lucky egg can also potentially grant a good chunk of XP to players as well.

If trainers can evolve their Pokemon during spotlight hour in Pokemon GO, they can further boost their XP gain in the game.

Tier 5 raids in Pokemon GO grant around 10,000 XP to players. So, completing multiple raids during raid hours can grant a good chunk of XP. If trainers can couple this task with a lucky egg, they’ll be sinking in XP in no time whatsoever.

How To Level Up From 1 To 40

Leveling from 1-40 is fairly simple: Use Lucky Eggs, catch Pokémon, compete in raids, send gifts to friends and battle.

Basically anything you do in the game will reward you with XP, but there are some things that grant better XP than others, and for less effort.

Lucky Eggs

Popping a Lucky Egg can increase that XP, but save those for when you plan on doing a bunch of raids in a row, or when you plan on evolving a ton of Pokémon for the maximum use of your Lucky Eggs.

Lucky Eggs will grant double XP for 30 minutes and are sometimes given as rewards, but most of the time youll have to acquire them through the shop. It costs 80 PokéCoins for one and 500 PokéCoins for eight Lucky Eggs. In real world money, that equals about $5.00 for eight Lucky Eggs, since 550 PokéCoins costs $4.99 in the shop.

Using a Lucky Egg during a double XP event will grant you even more rewards. The XP bonus stacks, so instead of a 2X reward, players will get 4X the XP. Double XP events have been decreasing in number, but they are often implemented as part of a Pokémon spotlight or raid hour, so save your eggs for those weekly happenings.
