There’s plenty to do and accomplish during the limited-time event, and whether you’re a casual or hardcore Pokémon Go player, there’s something for everyone this Community Day.
POKEMON GO CHARMANDER COMMUNITY DAY START TIME

Pve Offensive Moves Explanation
Fire Spin is Charizards best fast move and strictly superior to Ember.
Wing Attack is preferable to Air Slash and equal to Fire Spin if both have the same effectiveness.
Blast Burn makes Charizard one of the strongest Fire-type attackers.
Overheat is Charizard’s best non-exclusive charged move and beats Fire Blast soundly.
Flamethrower has less cycle DPS than Overheat and is just a worse Blast Burn, but has advantages due to multiple charge bars.
- Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw can work as a pseudo-dragon attacker, but are best reserved for Mega Charizard X.
- Return has no purposes on offensive Charizard.
Pve Defensive Moves Explanation
Attackers may be inclined to throw Water-types at Charizard, in which case Air Slash edges out Fire Spin.
Ember and Wing Attack are worse versions of Fire Spin and Air Slash, respectively.
Dragon Claw is the preferred charge move due its early damage window, wide neutral coverage, and 3 bars.
Return is inferior in terms of damage, but is much harder to dodge.
Flamethrower is a decent alternative, but Blast Burn is decisively better.
- Fire Blast and Overheat are poor due to their late damage windows and charge time.
- Dragon Breath is inferior on defense.

- 09:00, 14 OCT 2018
Pokemon GO’s September update just went live and although it means that trainers can no longer catch Raikou, the update has brought with it a series of brand new Field Research Quests.
Complete enough of these and you’ll earn a Research Breakthrough and a crack at catching the Legendary Pokemon Entei.
However, these Research Quests also offer players the chance to catch some very rare Pokemon, including a new variation for Pokemon GO’s Spinda.
But whilst these new Pokemon are taking the spotlight, players are also searching for Shiny versions of some of Pokemon’s most classic mascots – which can actually be quite hard to come by.
Keep reading for the most up to date information on how you can go about catching a Shiny Charmander, with the end-goal of netting yourself a Shiny Charizard.
But further down as you’ll also find all of the new September Field Research Tasks at the bottom of the page.
Pokemon GO’s Charizard is a Fire and Flying-type Pokemon with a max CP of 2686, with corresponding base stats of 223 attack, 176 defense and 156 stamina in Pokemon GO.
Despite looking like a super-cool black dragon, thanks to its typing and generally underwhelming move pools, shiny Charizard isn’t really that good a defender or an attacker.

Mawile is a bipedal Pokemon that is short in stature. It has a pale yellow body. It also has black arms and feet. The legs of Mawile have a covering of fur that resembles a skirt. The fur covering is usually thicker in nature. The most notable feature of Mawile is its black jaws emerging from the back of its head. How Do I Find Them
If youre just simply hunting in the wild, the 1 in 500 range applies. However, there are exceptions. Some Pokémon, such as Togepi for example, have a 1 in 125 chance of being shiny, as its only found in 7KM eggs. Some Pokémon have a permaboost, increasing their chances of being shiny to 1 in 64 .
If theres a Community Day, be on the lookout for the promoted event Pokémon. Their odds of being shiny will be increased to a whopping 1 in 25, making it a lot easier to find their shiny forms. Finally theres legendary raids, where you can catch some of the legendary Pokémon. As these are harder to come by, the shiny rates for these Pokémon are increased to 1 in 20. Youll need a raid pass to participate however, which kind of balances things out.
How To Catch Charizard In Pokemon Go
The easiest way to catch Charizard is unfortunately unavailable in the game. In fact, there isnt a fixed pattern to catch Charizard. You need to be at a higher level in the game to catch it. Some players reported that if you want to catch a Charizard, then you need to be at a higher level, specifically above 11. While others said in the Pokemon community that they have reached level 15 and after that only, they were able to catch their first Charizard. So, it all comes down to how well you play the game and which level you are in that determines whether you have any chance to catch Charizard.
Heres a critical thing you need to know. Always save as many Pokeballs as you can before going to catch Charizard. Generally, you can find Charizard in wild and that is the only place youll find it anyway. To catch a Charizard, all you need to do is to feed it enough raspberries before throwing some Pokeballs. When you throw a Pokeball, make sure that it hits the center circle and stays there for some time. And also make sure that it is a perfect Pokeball hit to Charizard as well. If you are able to do both of them successfully, then the Charizard beauty is yours to have in your collection!

How To Get Shiny Pokemon In Pokemon Go
If you’ve been playing Pokemon Go for a long time and never stumbled across a shiny, don’t be surprised. The Pokemon Go shiny odds are roughly 1 in 450. This means that every time you tap on a Pokemon to catch it in Pokemon Go – if it has a shiny version – there is a 1 in 450 chance it will be shiny.
However, these odds are dramatically increased on Pokemon Go Community Day to 1 in 25. Community Day happens once a month in Pokemon Go, when a specific Pokemon will flood the streets and appear almost everywhere. Along with the other benefits usually found during Community Day, Pokemon Go shinies become much more popular and you’d have to be considerably unlucky to not find a shiny during Community Day.
You won’t know if you’ve found a shiny Pokemon or not until you tap on it and enter the encounter. If the colour change is subtle, you’ll also know you’ve found a shiny if a bunch of sparks fly out from the Pokemon before you throw the first ball. Once you’ve caught a Pokemon Go shiny, you can search for “shiny” in your list of Pokemon to show you your full Pokemon Go shiny list.
