How To Evolve Eevee Into Umbreon In Pokemon Sword & Shield

The first Eeveelutions, Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon are relatively easy to obtain in Pokemon Go. To evolve Eevee into them, trainers simply have to feed it 25 Eevee candy. However, there is no guarantee which of the three Eevee will evolve to once youve used the nickname trick. Itll be a game of chance, but with the low candy requirement trainers will have plenty of chances to get all three.

How Should You Use The New Appraisal Feature

The new Appraisal feature is a great way to quickly discover how powerful your new Pokemon are. Finding out that an old favourite has a three star rating is incredibly gratifying.

It’s especially useful for when you’re comparing a bunch of the same Pokémon, as you can keep the stat appraisal screen open as you move between Pokémon. This allows you to quickly compare stats and star rankings as you try to decide which Pokémon to keep and which ones to release.

You can even search for Pokémon by their specific star tier, just like how you can search for them by name. To do this, you’ll need to search:

  • 0* = 0 Stars
  • 3* = 3 Stars
  • 4* = 3 Stars with a red background / 100% Pokémon

The new ranking system makes it a lot easier to decide which Pokémon are worth investing your Stardust and Candy in. Though it’s still important to remember a Pokémon’s rarity and whether it’s one of the best Pokémon in the game.

Though by and large the closer to 100% this is the better, depending on the Pokémon, some individual stats are more important than others – so it isn’t the be all and end all.

For example, if you have a Snorlax – one of the best creatures to put in a gym with its high health – with a low HP stat, that makes it a less attractive proposition. But then again, because it’s rare, you might not have any alternative Snorlax to rely on. Of course, an average Snorlax will still perform better than others in its field, so it could still be worth Powering up.

How To Evolve Eevee Using Nicknames

A neat trick allows you to force a specific evolution when using the candy evolution method, and all you need to do is rename your Eevee to a particular nickname.

Simply rename your Eevee with the nickname below that corresponds with your desired evolution and voila, youll have your eeveelution of choice once you feed it 25 candy:

  • Vaporeon Rainer

  • The egg will hatch into Eevee after a few minutes.
  • You can also attempt to catch an Eevee from the wild by going out to Route 4 or Route 6 and wandering around in the grass there.
  • 2Understand how this method works. Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon are all evolved from Eevee in similar ways: by using special elemental “stone” items. These stone items can be found around the Pokémon world.
  • In addition to being able to find or purchase the different stones, each stone can be dug up by using a Pokémon whom knows “Dig” on Isle Aphun.XResearch source
  • 3Use a Fire Stone on Eevee to evolve Flareon. You can find a Fire Stone in the far-left corner of Digletts Tunnel on Akala Island, though you’ll need a Tauros to uncover it for you. Once you pick up the stone, you’ll select it in your bag and apply it to Eevee from there.XResearch source

Pokémon Sword and Shield: How to catch and evolve Eevee ...

If you’ve got your hands on only one or two Eevee, you’re thus faced with a difficult choice: which of the five Eevee Evolution forms you can currently get is the best one to have? Several of the Eevee Evolutions rank decently in our list of the Best Pokemon for battles in Pokemon Go – in Attack Espeon is ranked 13th and Flareon 18th, while in Defense Umbreon clocks in at 16th. Vapoeron ranks a respectable 10th in HP and Stamina, too – but those are just basic stats. What about beyond that?

Pokemon Types are of course absolutely vital in Pokemon Go, and an important thing to consider is how each Eevee Evolution ranks when compared to other Pokemon of its type – and also how easy they are to obtain compared to their powerful peers. Let’s take a look at that:

The story behind Pokemon Go’s Eevee Evolution names

If you’re wondering where the above names come from, they’re actually a deep-cut nod to fans of the Pokemon anime – a nice little easter egg for players who have been particularly dedicated in their following of the series.

Rainer, Sparky, Pyro, Sakura and Tamao are actually the names of the ‘Eevee brothers’ that appear in the Pokemon anime. The first three Eevee evolutions and their owners – all siblings – show up in episode 40 of the show, meeting Ash and Pikachu. Each brother has a unique Eevee of his own, and it’s after the brothers that the Eevee take their names.

    Sylveons Statistics And More

Now that you know how to evolve Eevee into Sylveon, its time to dive in on what makes it great or not. Sylveon is a Fairy-type so that could be a plus right there. It is effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting-types. It is weak to Poison and Steel-types but immune to Dragon-types.

In terms of stats, Sylveon excels in the Special department. It has good Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense as well as good HP. It does have bad Attack and Defense with average Speed. Basically, when you want to use Sylveon, it is good for setting up buffs or debuffs and tanking Special Attacks.

Now that you know how to evolve Eevee into Espeon, the question is if it is worth your time to get one? This is assuming that you have no other source to get more Eevees hence you have to decide which one to evolve your Eevee into. The answer is yes and that is Espeon is worth going out of your way when you are interested. It is considered to be the best evolution of Eevee.

    Espeon Advantages

Its advantages lie in having strong Sp. Attack, SP. Defense, and Speed. Basically, Espeon excels in dealing and survival Special attacks. The Speed that it has also allows it to strike first and a lot of its moves are Priority Moves, which usually allows it to go first. Lets not forget the fact that it is also a Psychic-type where in some games can be tricky to find a good Psychic-type.

During its debut, Generation II games still lacked good Psychic-types, but Espeon fills that hole. Then again, in the later games, there are good Psychic-types. The good thing is that Espeon can still compete with those if it is ever available in the game. Wed say that if you dont have a keen interest in evolving Eevee, you can evolve it to Espeon so you can at least have a strong Pokemon in your possession, even if you dont plan on using it.
