How Many People Play Pokemon Go

Must read

Rainbow Six Siege On Twitch & Youtube

How many people have been KILLED playing Pokemon GO?

How is Rainbow Six Siege faring when it comes to viewership, though? A lot of people tend to use Twitch and YouTube as a barometer of how popular a game is, but that can often be misleading some games just arent a good fit for streaming and content creation in general.

Well, thats not really the case with Rainbow Six Siege. As of this writing, Rainbow Six Siege is always in the top 20 most watched games on Twitch, and while that doesnt seem to be an absolute reflection of its general popularity, its pretty close. Its been a while since Siege reached its peak viewership on Twitch in 2018 with 253,535 concurrent viewers, but any game that can hit 20K+ viewers on average is inarguably doing great.

However, theres one thing that tends to send Siege rocketing up the Twitch and YouTube charts: eSports. Siege hit 121,505 peak viewers just for European League 2021 Stage 1 . Thats just the start of a tournament, so you can imagine that that number will only swell the deeper into it we go.

Generally speaking, though, Siege does very well on YouTube and Twitch, regardless of any special events. Just like the game itself, Sieges stature on YouTube and Twitch has grown steadily over time, but thanks to content creators like MeatyMarley and BikiniBodhi, as well as Ubisoft working to make Siege tournaments more exciting and watchable, its flourishing.

Penny Andrews 38 Works As An Academic And Freelance Journalist Lives In West Yorkshire Uk

Although Andrews plays mainly by herself, she also sometimes meets up with friends — and she’s made news ones through trading Pokémon, raiding gyms and completing special tasks. She downloaded the app when it first came out in the UK, and plays most days.

What is it about the game thats kept you playing?

“The evolution of the game mechanics, with new ways to play as well as making it more challenging and adding more Pokémon.”

To what extent would you say the games changed your life?

“I had an accident and broke my ankle, and it got me out and walking further once I was allowed to walk again. Ive played it in Australia, Canada, Germany, the U.S., and in the airport in Abu Dhabi . I have mental and physical health issues and its good to have the routine and rewards. I also love sending gifts from interesting places to friends who I know are playing with their kids.”

How Many People Are Still Playing Pokemon Go

ByRyan Winslettpublished 7 April 17

When people aren’t playing the latest hotness on the mobile gaming front, it appears they’re still returning to the breakout hit of 2016, Pokemon Go. Niantic recently revealed how many folks continue to play Pokemon Go on a regular basis and, according to their findings, a ridiculous number of people are still trying to catch ’em all.

According to Niantic, a whopping 65 million people continue to play Pokemon Go on a monthly basis. The figure was made official in a recent blog post from Niantic simply titled, “Thank you.”

It may be easy for some of us to forget that Pokemon Go is still so massive since the heat from its initial launch has cooled down, but clearly the game is having no trouble continuing to draw a crowd. I don’t see dozens of people at the local park on a nightly basis, for instance, but I still can’t go to a local mall or major event without spotting at least some folks furiously chucking Pokeballs on their phone’s screen.

It might feel like we’re burying the lead here a little bit, but that information was paired with further news that Pokemon Go also brought home a couple of prestigious awards, including the title of Best Mobile Game and Best Handheld Game from the British Academy of Film . Despite the organization’s name, they’ve been giving out a collection of awards related to video games for quite a while now.

Unlike the other players we spoke to, Cook is relatively new to the game. A friend re-introduced Cook’s girlfriend to it, and she decided to join up too so they could play together. Now she plays every day, even if it’s just for 15 minutes.

What is it about the game thats kept you playing?

“I haven’t been playing for three years, but I can see why people have been. Pokémon Go is really good at putting on special events within the game, so there are storylines such as Team Rocket taking over PokéStops and it gives you the opportunity to catch different types of Pokémon. As long as the game keeps waving the carrot of cool and different Pokémon to catch, and research tasks to complete, I’ll be interested. The game constantly rewards you for playing so it gets addictive quickly. I’m a bit nostalgic for Pokémon to be honest, as I was in primary school when it was big the first time around — pretty sure I cried when I lost my shiny Clefairy card at school!”

To what extent would you say the games changed your life?

“Somewhat — in a short space of time, I would say it has had a positive impact on my life, mostly with exercise. I’m thinking every day about walking more — the more you walk the more the game rewards you. It’s got me out of the house a lot more in the evenings and exploring places of interest or architecture in Cardiff that I didn’t know were there but had previously walked past every day, so that’s cool.

Pokmon Go Captures 95 Million Mobile Users In The Uk Ranking 9th Among All Apps

3 People Who Nearly DIED Playing Pokémon GO

Unless youve been living under a Poké Ball the last several weeks, youve undoubtedly heard of the new app-based game and overnight sensation Pokémon GO. As one of the first location-based augmented reality games, Pokémon GO mimics your actual real world surroundings using a Google Maps-like interface as you seek to find and capture Pokémon characters.

The app was released in early July, and in its first full month of reporting, data from Comscore Mobile Metrix® showed that it ranked as the 9th largest mobile app in the UK with 9.5 million unique visitors across smartphone and tablet. This represents 30% of the total mobile app population, even edging out a couple of social media heavyweights for the month.

For as long as Comscore has been measuring digital audiences, there really isnt even a remotely comparable instance of a website or app capturing such a large audience in such a short period of time. Perhaps even more impressive for Pokémon GO is the high level of engagement its seeing. In its first month, the app also ranked 5th in total app time spent, behind only Facebook, Google, BBC Sites and Apple Inc. In addition, well over a quarter of its user base visited on a daily basis, suggesting that its audience was highly engaged with the app throughout the month and doesnt just represent a bunch of curious lurkers.

Join A Team And Battle

At a certain point in the game, you’ll be asked to join one of three teams. Once you join a team, you’ll gainthe ability to assign your Pokémon to open Gym locations or to a Gym where ateammate has already assigned a Pokémon. Each player can place only one Pokémonper Gym, so you’ll need to work together with other members of your team tobuild up a strong defense. Like PokéStops, Gyms can be found at real-worldlocations.

If a rival team has claimed a Gym,you can challenge it by using your Pokémon to battle the Pokémon defending theGym. You choose which of your Pokémon will join in the battle. Each Pokémon hastwo kinds of attacks, and can also dodge the defending Pokémon’s attacks if youswipe left or right. If your Pokémon win the battle, the motivation of thedefending Pokémon is reduced. When the motivation of each defending Pokémondrops to zero, the defending team loses control of the Gym, and you or anotherplayer can then take control of it by assigning a Pokémon to defend it.

What Are Ivs & Evs

Pokémon’s stats are not just the base stats that you can find online. Each individual Pokémon also has its own set of Individual Values and Effort Values . It’s a complicated process to explain what these values are, but they’re basically a unique set of values that influence how that particular individual levels up.

IVs are like human or animal genes. They’re inherent to that individual from birth and are basically the unchanging potential a Pokémon has in each of its stats. EVs are like points that a Pokémon earns through various efforts that are applied toward each stat. The amount of EVs in a stat a Pokémon earns affects how much that stat goes up by when the Pokémon levels up.

Pokmon Go Usage Statistics

The Pokémon Go community is a vibrant and active one where players turn up in droves for live events. In 2019, Niantic hosted live events where millions of trainers showed up in person. But now with the pandemic, Niantic has kept up with the times and switched to online-only events with the same success.

Pokémon Go trainers are motivated to keep catching Pokémon to complete their Pokédex. On the other hand, other players cite physical and mental health benefits as the reason why they play it. When they play, Pokémon Go statistics show that they spend around 30 minutes on the game.

Rainbow Six Siege Active & Concurrent Player Figures

What Percent Of People On The Street Are Playing Pokémon Go?

Rainbow Six Siege is probably about as far from a dead game as you can get, and really, its never been anywhere close to struggling. Even during its rough early days, it enjoyed some solid figures that most multiplayer games could only dream of.

In its launch month in December 2015, Siege boasted peak player figures of 18,130 on Steam with its lowest ever count coming in March 2016 with 11,234 players and 6,125 players on average. Those arent bad player figures by any stretch of the imagination.

In March 2021, Siege stormed to 85,157 players on average, and 199,830 peak players, its highest ever record that will almost certainly get shattered again at some point in the future.

To put these player figures into perspective, five years after launch, Rainbow Six Siege is more than ten times more popular than it was during its earliest days. The vast majority of multiplayer games tend to land hot and then plateau very quickly, so Siege is definitely an outlier as a game that keeps growing instead of fading. Really, its right up there with Among Us in terms of turnaround successes. And these figures are for PC only, there are doubtless thousands more playing at any given time on PlayStation and Xbox.

If you need more proof, check out this video on the most popular Steam games below between 2015 and 2020.

Make no mistake: in terms of sheer numbers, Siege is as far from dying as a game can really get.

Genshin Impact Still Refuses To Increase Anniversary Rewards Despite Fan Outcry

As for how GO is making so much money? While Niantic doesnt break down exactly what its selling, I am absolutely convinced that the majority of its revenue comes from raid passes, which allow for infinite raiding of special event legendaries and other rare Pokémon in raids. Raid hours now have people try to get as many big-time raids in as possible in a limited time, and that means buying however many raid passes it takes to get the job done. Hence, more revenue.

Pokémon GO is not going anywhere, at least not with this level of investment Niantic is putting into it, and the investment on the players side as well, given how much time theyve put into building their Pokedex at this point. For many, GO is now more compelling than the handheld games ever were, or its their first Pokémon experience period, and theyre beyond hooked.

Earning Go Battle League Sets In The Pokmon Go Battle League

Until further notice, walking will not be required to unlock Battle Sets

Battles in the Pokémon Go Battle League come in five Battle increments called Go Battle League Sets. The first of these Sets is free, but each Set after that has to be earned and/or purchased. To earn a Go Battle League Set, you need to walk five KM, but you also have the option of paying Poké Coins to speed this up. Even if you pay to Battle early, you still need to walk at least 2 KM, so players who sink lots of money into the game will still have to work for their Battle Sets.

Players can earn up to five Sets each day. However, each Set requires walking another 5 KM, so participation really requires keeping active and playing a lot. You can see your progress towards earning your next Set in the Battle Menu, and the app also notifies you when you’ve earned another Set.

The game is so addictive that users can’t wait to go out and catch their Pokemons. The users excitement is proven by the time they spent on the game every single day. According to mobile app industry reports, in the US a user spend almost 3 hours per day on mobile apps. Pokemon GO managed to acquire almost 45 minutes of the Android users from that overall time span. With the maximum minutes of usage, Pokemon GO beats the most popular social media apps by a significant difference.

In the graph below you can see that Android users spent only 30 minutes on WhatsApp, 25 minutes on Instagram and 22 minutes on Snapchat per day. Thats pretty impressive for a gaming app to take over these popular social media apps.
