How To Link Your Pokmon Go And Nintendo Accounts
Setting up your Pokémon Home connection is the first step to transferring your Pokémon from Go to Home. First things first, open your app and head to settings. Scroll down to the bottom and click Pokémon HOME. This is where youll be able to connect your Pokémon Go account with your Nintendo account so make sure this is the Nintendo account that is linked to your Pokémon Home account!
How To Get Pokemon Home
Pokemon HOME released on February 11, 2020 and is currently available on the Nintendo Switch eShop, Apple iOS, and Android devices. In order to use all the Pokemon HOME features you need both the Switch and the mobile app.

To get the Pokemon HOMEon mobile, search for “Pokemon HOME” or “Pokemon HOME APP” on the app store.
To get Pokemon HOME on the Nintendo Switch, open the eShop and check the Featured page. If it’s not there, search for Pokemon HOME. You will need a WiFi connection for this to work, but you don’t need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to use Pokemon HOME.
Receiving Pokmon In Pokmon Home
If youre using the Pokémon Home mobile app, simply open it and you should see a notification that Pokémon have transferred from Pokémon Go. Select Yes to receive the Pokémon and youll see them in your box.
If youre using Pokémon Home on the Nintendo Switch, you have to click the Pokémon Go button in the bottom right of your screen upon entering the app. Follow the instructions to complete the transfer.

Your Pokémon will know the moves it would ordinarily know at its level in Generation 8 the moves it has in Pokémon Go are irrelevant. However, your IVs will roughly match those of your Pokémon. Defense and Special Defense are taken from your Stamina statistic in Pokémon Go, Attack and Special Attack from your original Attack stat, and HP will roughly match HP. Speed is not a statistic in Pokémon Go, therefore this is entirely randomised.
Your Pokémon will also get a nature and ability, as these do not exist in Pokémon Go either.

What Games Can I Transfer Pokmon From
As of this writing, you can only transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Bank, Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu, and Pokémon Sword and Shield to Pokémon Home. Eventually, youll be able to transfer from Pokémon Go, but that feature is not available yet.
Note that moving Pokémon from Pokémon Bank and Pokémon Go to Pokémon Home is a one-way trip: After transferring to Pokémon Home, they cannot go back.
If you transfer Pokémon from Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu to Sword and Shield, they cant go back to their original games, either. But you can move Pokémon from Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu to Pokémon Home and then back to their original games.
How To Actually Transfer Pokmon From Pokmon Go To Pokmon Home
Once youve linked your Nintendo account, you can head back into Settings at any time to access the Pokémon Home transfer system. In the Pokémon Home tab, click Send Pokémon to begin.
Before we go any further, Im going to remind you that any Pokémon you transport to Pokémon Home cannot come back! This is a one-way ticket, so dont transfer anything that you might regret.
Youll now see a screen with the Pokémon Home transporter on it, and a full energy bar . Click continue to be taken to your familiar Pokémon screen. However, there are a few Pokémon that you cant transfer:
- Spinda
- Shadow Pokémon
- Mega-Evolved Pokémon
Lucky and Purified Pokémon will lose their bonuses when transferred, and the following Pokémon will change forms:
- Origin Forme Giratina will become Altered Forme Giratina
- Sunshine Form Cherrim will become Overcast Form Cherrim
- Sunny Form, Rainy Form, and Snowy Form Castform will become Castform in its usual form
Otherwise, select the Pokémon you want to transfer up to a maximum of 27 at once, or until you run out of energy and click next. Youll see how much Go Transporter Energy this transfer will cost and be reminded of the Pokémon you selected. Click transport to complete the transfer.

How Do I Register Pokmon In My Pokdex
Importing Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Home will import the Pokédex data with it. Itll also show all of the different Pokémon forms for Pokémon like Rotom.
Linking to the Nintendo Switch games will not take the Pokédex data from the game, but it will after you import the Pokémon. It will not register Gigantamax variants unless you send a Gigantamax-able Pokémon to Home.
At the time of writing, it seems like the mobile version registers the Pokémon into the Pokédex slowly, so you might have to wait before all the entries fill in on your phone.
How Do I Transfer Pokmon From Pokmon Go To Pokmon Sword And Shield
It is not currently possible to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME directly, although the feature is coming before the end of 2020. We’ll update this guide when it launches.
If you’re absolutely desperate, you could move compatible Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee, and then to HOME, and then to Sword and Shield. If we were you, we’d sit tight and wait for the update, though.

Whats Difference Between The Mobile App And The Nintendo Switch App
The mobile app is mainly for trading, while the Switch app is for storage and organization.
Heres what you can do differently between them:
- Mobile : Trade Pokémon, complete Challenges , and use your sticker book.
- Switch: Organize your Home boxes, complete Research Tasks, transfer points to Pokémon Sword and Shield, Sword and Shield, and Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu.
Transfer From Previous Pokemon Games Using The 3ds Pokemon Bank To Pokemon Home
This is a bit more involved than other steps in the process, due to the nature of having to handle and operate a 3DS.
But, if there are some Pokemon from pasts games that youd like to show off to friends more conveniently, Pokemon Bank may be a tool to consider.
In order to do this, youll need to have Pokemon Home on the Nintendo Switch and pony up for the premium version of the app. These can be purchased from in the app on either a monthly or year-long basis. Once thats done, youre ready to receive Pokemon to Pokemon Home from the 3DS Pokemon Bank.
On the 3DS, open Pokemon Bank, make sure it is up-to-date, and then select Move Pokemon to Pokemon HOME.
After this, go back to the Switch, select Move and then select Begin Move in order to generate a moving code for the transfer to be completed. This can also be done without a 3DS, as long as the player has their Nintendo account linked properly.

What Mewtwo Does In Battle
All these years later, Mewtwo is still a terror built for battle. It has massive Special Attack and Speed stats, so it should your team’s go-to attacker. It also has an extremely varied set of possible moves, meaning it can account for almost every situation. Give it a Psychic-type move of course , but also give it some fun surprises. As of today, Pokemon Go is now compatible with Pokemon Home. This is exciting news for Pokemon fans, because it greatly expands the number of monsters that can be transferred from Niantic’s popular mobile game to Pokemon Sword and Shield. It wouldn’t be Pokemon if there weren’t a lot of hoops to jump through, though, and Pokemon Go throws up quite a few barriers to getting your beloved Shiny Groudon over to the Nintendo Switch.

As of right now, if you want to complete a transfer from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home, you need to fit the following requirements:
- You have to be Level 40 in Pokemon Go
- The “Go Transporter” item must have a sufficient amount of energy
- You must have already caught the Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield, so you can’t use Pokemon Go to fill your Pokedex
- Mega Evolutions, Shadow Pokemon, and unique costumes can’t be transferred
Those are some pretty onerous restrictions, making it effectively impossible to transfer your entire collection over to Pokemon Sword and Shield in one go. Indeed, as someone currently trapped at Level 32 in Pokemon Go, I’ve yet to be able to access the feature at all. Alas, poor Shiny Dragonite, you appear to be doomed to remain trapped in the purgatory of Alameda, California.

How To Transfer From Pokemon Go To Pokemon Home
In November 2020, Pokemon Go added the ability to directly transfer Pokemon from the mobile game to Home. To begin the process, you’ll first need to connect Pokemon Go to the same Nintendo Account you have linked to Pokemon Home. Fire up the game and tap on the Poke Ball icon at the bottom of the screen to open the menu. From there, tap on Settings in the upper right-hand corner, then scroll down and select Pokemon Home. You’ll be prompted to sign in with your Nintendo Account.
Once you’ve connected Pokemon Go to your Pokemon Home account, you can starting moving Pokemon to the service. Tap on Send Pokemon from the Pokemon Home section in Settings and you’ll be taken to the Go Transporter. Select the monsters you’d like to transfer and tap Transport to move them. After that, open Pokemon Home on your mobile device, tap on the menu button on the bottom of the screen, and select Options. Scroll down until you see Pokemon Go Link, then tap Receive to complete the transfer process.
Beyond direct transfers, there is a roundabout method for bringing certain Pokemon over from the mobile game. If you have a copy of Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee, you are able to transfer any Gen 1 Pokemon that you’ve caught in Pokemon Go to those titles through the Go Park, a facility located in Fuchsia City.

Transferring Mewtwo From An Older Game
Veteran players likely have at least one;Mewtwo sitting in an older game. It could’ve been a Mystery Gift in Black, caught in;X, or gotten from the Virtual Console version of Yellow. Whatever the case, if you can get it into Pokémon Bank, you can get it into Pokémon Home.
You’ll need both a working 3DS and Switch on hand to initiate a transfer from Bank to Home. Follow the instructions given by both apps, then transfer;Mewtwo;from Home to Sword or Shield once it’s all over. Just remember that this method requires a paid Premium Plan to Pokémon Home.
Set Up Pokmon Home On Your Phone
Download Pokémon Home on your phone, launch it, and log in with your Nintendo account. Pokémon Home is available on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. Pokémon Home has a subscription system. It costs $2.99 a month, $4.99 for three months, and $15.99 for 12 months. The subscription allows you to store more Pokémon. Without it, youll only be able to hold 30 at a time. With a subscription, you can hold up to 6,000 Pokémon.
You dont need the subscription to transfer Pokémon, but you will if you plan on holding more than 30 Pokémon in Pokémon Home.

What Are The Differences Between The Nintendo Switch And Mobile Versions Of Pokmon Home

Yes, but probably not in its full premium form. You can use this to transfer any Kantonian versions of Pokémon that normally have Galarian forms like Kantonian Farfetchd to Sword and Shield from Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu.
The mobile app is also the only way to access the global trade system, so you should definitely use that if youre trying to trade specific Pokémon.
What Are Research Tasks
Research Tasks are exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version and require you to deposit specific Pokémon from Sword and Shield and Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu. For example, the Dusty Bowl Research Task asks for a Eldegoss, Hattrem, and Frillish.
Note that the Pokémon required to complete the tasks need to be from the respective region. Importing a Frillish from Pokémon Bank will not fulfill the task for the Galar region.
