How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon In Pokemon Go
Pokemon Go currently has Pokemon from several generations… and the most recent Eevee Evolution added to the game is Sylveon, a Pokemon added in generation 6. In the main Pokemon games, Sylveon evolves based off your Affection and Friendship stats, which maps to the Pokemon Buddy Feature that Pokemon Go has.
First of all, the nickname trick continues to work with Sylveon. To get it first, take an Eevee and rename it to Kira – then evolve it. The first time you do this, you’ll get a Sylveon. After this, however, you’ll have to evolve into Sylveon in the traditional way, as this is a one-time trick per eeveelution.
For further chances to evolve Eevee to Sylveon, you’ll need to get 70 Buddy Hearts with an Eevee – which puts your relationship with that Pokemon at the ‘Great Buddy’ level. After this, you simply need to evolve that Eevee with 25 Eevee candy, and you’ll get the fairy-type Sylveon in return.
All of these work with the Flower Crown Eevee or Shiny Eevee – so you can use these tricks to get yourself a Shiny Sylveon or a Flower Crown Sylveon.
Generation Iv Eevee Evolutions: Leafeon And Glaceon
Getting a Leafeon or a Glaceon involves Lure Modules. These are special items that you can use on PokéStops to get more wild Pokémon to appear. They come in different types and each one of them attracts specific types of Pokémon.
For Eevee to evolve into Leafeon, youll need a Mossy Lure, and as for Glaceon, youll need a Glacial Lure. You can purchase both of these items from the shop for 200 PokéCoins each. Once you have the Lure Module for the Eevee evolution you want, go to a PokéStop with the Mossy or Glacial Lure activated, and spin the PokéStop. Then, tap on the Pokéball icon at the bottom of your screen, and go to Pokémon. Select the Eevee that you want to evolve into Leafeon or Glaceon. Before tapping on the Evolve button, check the silhouette on it to make sure that youre going to get the Eevee evolution youre aiming for.
Alternate Eevee Evolution Methods For Leafeon Glaceon Umbreon And Espeon
Gen 4’s Leafeon and Glaceon have a second Eevee evolution method, by using the Mossy Lure or Glacial Lure respectively. When you’re in range of that PokéStop with the Lure enabled, go to your Eevee and choose the Evolution.
Meanwhile, Gen 2’s Umbreon and Espeon also have a second Eevee evolution method. Walk your Eevee as a Buddy for 10km, then evolve it either during the night or day and it’ll turn into the desired evolution.
Note you specifically need to walk 10k and earn two Candies in the process, then keep Eevee as your Buddy when evolving, and be either day or night during the game itself for it to work .
Since the naming trick only works once per evolution type, this appears to be a useful way to get a second Espeon or Umbreon with some reliability.

Pvp Usefulness Of Eevee And Its Evolutions In Pokemon Go
The various Eevee evolutions have varying degrees of usefulness in Pokemon Go. Of the nine Pokemon, Umbreon has consistently been seen as the most useful in Go Battle League, and that doesn’t really change that much with the addition of these moves to the various Pokemon’s arsenals. The addition of Psychic to Umbreon’s moveset provides it with some additional coverage against various Pokemon, but doesn’t immensely improve it in either Great League or Ultra League. Jolteon and Flareon also receives some moderate boosts in effectiveness, while Espeon, Vaporeon, Leafeon, and Glaceon all receive either no real boosts or downgrades thanks to their new moves. Players who have already used the name change trick will need to evolve at random and luck into these three. After the initial name change there is no longer a way to control these three evolutions.

Evolving Eevee using the required 25 Eevee candy will produce a random evolution. However, you can control which type it turns into by renaming the monster beforehand:
- Rename “Kira” to evolve into Fairy-type Sylveon
- Rename “Linnea” to evolve into Grass-type Leafeon
- Rename “Rea” to evolve into Ice-type Glaceon
- Rename “Sakura” to evolve into Psychic-type Espeon
- Rename “Tamao” to evolve into Dark-type Umbreon
- Rename “Rainer” to evolve into Water-type Vaporeon
- Rename “Sparky” to evolve into Electric-type Jolteon

There’s also another method to evolve Eevee into Leafeon and Glaceon – perhaps the most obvious way if you’ve had a look in the game’s shop.
Available from the in-game store for 200 coins apiece, the Mossy and Glacial Lure Modules work just like the ordinary Lure Modules in the game. Simply buy whichever one takes your fancy and use it on a nearby PokéStop.
- Mossy Lure Module – Used to evolve Eevee into Leafeon
- Glacial Lure Module – Used to evolve Eevee into Glaceon
You’ll notice that it attracts specific types of Pokémon to your area, but click on one of the Eevees in your collection while within range of the PokéStop and you’ll see that its evolution button has changed to the respective target evolution. Hit the button and Eevee will evolve into Leafeon or Glaceon right before your eyes .
Make sure you’re within range of the PokéStop and that the evolution button is indicating a new evolution before you press it, rather than displaying the usual Eevee question mark symbol.

As I said, the first method, which can only be used once per form, requires you to change Eevee’s nickname before evolving her. There is one unique nickname associated with each form.
You can rename your Eevee control the evolution and get that form. Here are all the eight evolution-nickname combos:

- Sylveon: Kira

How To Evolve Umbreon & Espeon In Pokemon Go
Unlike the previous evolutions, however, Umbreon and Espeon dont evolve from Eevee at random, requiring specific actions to get them.
