Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are the third and final pair of core series games of Generation VII. They are remakes of the 1998 Generation I game Pokémon Yellow. The games were released on the Nintendo Switch. The games take place in the Kantoregion, and are the second of two remakes taking place in Kanto, following Generation III games Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen in 2004.

The games were announced worldwide on May 30, 2018, at the Pokémon 2018 Video Game Press Conference in Tokyo, Japan. The paired versions were released worldwide on November 16, 2018. All copies of the game are playable in nine languages: Japanese, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Pokmon Transformations And Forms

Mega Evolution is a mechanic introduced in , which further increases the abilities of specific Pokémon. If the player character possesses an item called the Key Stone and a Pokémon is holding a Mega Stone that corresponds to its species , that Pokémon will be able to Mega Evolve during battle. The player cannot perform more than one Mega Evolution per battle. Unlike normal evolution, this transformation is temporary and the Pokémon will revert to its normal form after the battle. Mega Evolved Pokémon have higher stats than their normal forms and may also have a different type or Ability. Unfortunately, while this does not affect gameplay, many Pokédex entries for Mega Evolved Pokémon state that the process or form the Pokémon use is painful to said Pokémon. There are 46 species of Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution, two of which have two different Mega forms. was the first known example of a Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution, with Mega Mewtwo Y appearing in a special episode of the and the film . Two Pokémon, and , have multiple Mega Evolved forms and the one they can Mega Evolve into is dependent on which Mega Stone they hold.

Pokemon Lets Go Version Exclusives

The most obvious Pokemon you wont be able to catch are the version exclusives. Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu & Eevee have different Pokemon you can catch in the wild.

Exclusive to the Pikachu version include Sandshrew, Sandslash, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Growlithe, Arcanine, Mankey, Primeape, Grimer, Muk and Scyther.. The Eevee edition allows you to capture Vulpix, Ninetales, Meowth, Persian, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebel, Koffing, Weezing and Pinsir.

How To Evolve Using Nicknames To Guarantee Your Choice Of Eevee Evolution

If you evolve an Eevee raw by spending 25 candy, itll just evolve into one of the different available evolutions at random. However, you can actually force a specific evolution by renaming your Eevee of choice to a special nickname and the whole thing began as an easter egg nod to a classic set of Eevee evolutions found in the Pokemon anime TV show.

So, basically, all you have to do is rename your Eevee to a specific name and then evolve it the regular way by spending 25 candy. Here are the names and the Eevee Evolutions:

An important note about this little cheat: it only works once per Eevee Evolution. Once youve renamed one Eevee as Tamao to get Umbreon, for instance, youll only be able to get another Umbreon through natural means with that exact method depending on the eeveelution in question. This is why you should check your CP values and IV values before evolving an Eevee make sure its a good one, as you only get one shot.

Note: It would seem as though you need to be within the normal range of the PokéStop in order to evolve Leafeon or Glaceon not the extended radius. Always be sure to check that the icon in the evolve button is the right Pokémon and not a question mark.

Travel With An Extra Pokmon By Your Side

Youll either have Pikachu or Eevee hanging on you at all times, but you can also release one additional Pokémon from its Pokéball. We started with Eevee but still had a Pikachu we caught early in travel on our heels. Your companion Pokémons bonding level increases from letting it out of its cramped Pokéball, and you can increase this further by stopping to interact with it. Youll be rewarded in battles at times when the Pokémon cures itself of status conditions, refuses to faint or avoids attacks.

The other benefit of having a Pokémon follow you is that it will find hidden berries. When it stops in its tracks and has a text bubble over its head, you will often receive a few berries.

Where To Find Eevee In The Wild In Pokemon Lets Go

With two versions of Pokemon Lets Go being released, one focusing on Pikachu, and the other on Eevee, fans of both were always going to want to know where they can get the mascot of the other version. Heres everything you need to know about where to find Eevee in the wild in Pokemon Lets Go.

Of course, if you get Lets Go Eevee, you will have the cute little creature from the start of the game, just as you do Pikachu if you buy the other version.

However, you are not able to evolve your starter Eevee at any point in the game, following the trend set in Pokemon Yellow that saw Pikachu refuse to evolve at any point.

To get Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon, youll need to find yourself another Eevee and then use one of the Evolution Stones to evolve it.

We have found that the best place to find wild Eevee is along Route Route 17. You wont be able to get there from the start of the game, since Snorlax blocks the way to it.

You will need to have four of the games badges and head to Lavender Town. Here, you will have to get the Silph Scope and defeat the ghost in the Pokemon Tower to get the Flute that wakes up Snorlax.

Then, once Snorlax is awake, you can head down the path towards Route 17. Along Route 17, Eevee is pretty common, and since Pokemon spawn above ground in Pokemon Lets Go, you shouldnt have any trouble finding them.

Espeon

It is the Pokémon with the highest number of CP and the highest Attack, which makes it one of the most interesting evolutions for offensive tasks. Catch The Same Species Repeatedly

Catch combos can greatly increase XP. As you catch the same species over and over again, a catch multiplier builds that increases the XP you earn with each successive catch. Catching many of the same species also increases your chances of finding a Pokémon of that species with really good stats. So it pays off to be dedicated to hunting.

Since random battles are gone, catching is the main source of XP. In fact, you can get far more XP catching than battling if youre persistent. Since catching Pokémon usually takes no more than a minute, we recommend catching any Pokémon you see. You get more XP for quality catches , but you can stack the deck with a couple of tricks.

Pokmon Let’s Go: How To Find Zapdos In The Power Plant

Unlike the other two Legendary Birds , Zapdos is thankfully quite easy to find.

It’s located in the top left, or north-west, corner of the one main room in the Power Plant. To get there, simply head over to the far right side from the entrance, then up to the north and across, leftwards, to the west to find it amongst some large machinery!

Like the other Legendaries it’s a fairly tricky battle. Zapdos is Electric and Flying-type, meaning that it’s immune to the usual Electric counter of Ground-type attacks. Your best bets are Rock and Ice, to counter its Flying typing. Ground-types work well defensively, meanwhile.

Once it’s defeated, things work much the same as they did with those Snorlax you’ll have already encountered by now: it’s the standard catching mode, only it can’t run away . So take your time and remember to use berries effectively to help!

Pokmon Let’s Go: Power Plant

The Power Plant is one of the simplest ‘dungeons’ you’ll find in Pokémon Let’s Go, as it’s only spread out over one floor and there are no puzzles or obstacles for you to solve – which is nice!

Instead, there’s one fun little booby trap for you to look out for: upside-down Poké Balls. Although they look a lot like the item Poké Balls found dotted around the world, these are actually wild Electrodes, and if you interact with them, they’ll attack!

They’re one of the few ‘interactable’ wild Pokémon that you can actually battle, too – along with the likes of Snorlax and Legendary Pokémon – and you’ll need to defeat them in battle first if you want to catch them. Otherwise, deceptive Electrodes aside, here’s all the available items, Pokémon and trainers to be found. In the section below we’ll explain how to make it through the Power Plant to find Zapdos!

A quick note if you’re here to catch some of the rare Pokémon – Magnemite in particular can be a real pain, due to how much they move around. Try using Nanab Berries to get them to sit still!

Can Eevees Nickname Trick Fail

Choosing the evolution of Eevee in Pokémon GO through the change of nickname is an alternative or trick that only works once for each eeveelution. That is, one for each of the eight members available to date in the game. If you have an Eevee and rename it as Sakura, it will evolve to Espeon, but only once. In case you try it again, it will have no effect with that nickname.

This trick may not work with Umbreon and Espeon if there has been a problem monitoring your steps. The requirement for these two evolutions is to accumulate 10 km walked during the day or during the night . If the evolution does not take place, it is because you have not counted the distance correctly or there has been some derived problem. Therefore, keep walking and make sure that in the game it is day or night, even if it fits the real-time.

Rare Pokemon Spawns: Where To Find The Rarest Wild Pokemon In Let’s Go

• Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle: we’ve actually got a separate page on how to catch the classic Kanto starter Pokemon in Let’s Go, but for the sake of being a complete list we wanted to also note that these three can be caught in the wild as rare spawns from quite early in the game. Certain NPCs will also give you one each of these free if you meet certain requirements but know they can be found out in the wild.

• Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan: the classic first-generation fighting Pokemon can first be found in Viridian City, inside the Fighting Dojo. Work your way through a bunch of fights there and the master of the dojo will allow you to take one of these two Pokemon – but if you want the other, worry not: you will be able to catch one in the wild later. Both Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee show up on Victory Road, one of the final areas of the game, as a rare wild encounter.

• Chansey: Chansey isn’t quite as over-powered as it was in the early days of Pokemon Go, but it’s a good little Pokemon – albeit rare. It can be found in a lot of places but is a very uncommon spawn. Keep an eye out for it on Route 5 & 6, Routes 8-18, Route 21 & 23 plus Diglett’s Cave, Mt. Moon. Pokemon Tower, the Power Plant, Pokemon Mansion and Victory Road.

• Lapras: Lapras is a great Water / Ice-type combination, and it’s used by one of the Elite Four for good reason – it’s a powerful Pokemon. It’s a rare spawn once again, but it can be found on Kanto’s Route 19 and Route 20 if you’re lucky.
