How To Make A Pokemon Appear In An Empty Den

Sometimes you’ll happen upon a den with no Pokemon in it, especially if you’ve already battled the Pokemon that was in there previously. To fill the den you can get a Pokemon to appear by using a Wishing Piece. These are sold at the Watt Traders fro 3,000 Watts each, a pretty hefty price.

After purchasing it, approach the empty den where you’ll be prompted if you wish to throw the Wishing Piece in, selecting yes will make a random Pokemon appear in the den.

How To Do Co

Max Raid Battles enable you to team up with up to three other players either locally or online. Remember, to connect with other Trainers online, you will need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. The subscription isn’t needed to play with others locally.

Don’t worry, if you don’t have enough players to fill your party, Pokemon Sword and Shield will automatically fill the extra spots with support NPCs, though these aren’t the most reliable partners.

The benefit of using actual players to help you is they’ll type match against whatever Pokemon you’re facing, where you’ll be lucky to get a type match with the random NPCs.

How To Get A Gigantamax Gengar In Pokemon Sword & Shield

So, if youve been following along up until now youll have guessed that were about to direct you to a Max Raid Battle. Indeed, Gengar, like every Gigantamax Pokemon, must be caught during a Max Raid Battle.

What we havent mentioned yet is that Gengar is a Pokemon Shield exclusive. You will not be able to catch one in any Max Raid Battle if youre playing the Sword version of the game. If youre playing Sword then youll instead need to check out our detailed guide about how to trade and hope to acquire one from another player.

Even if you are playing Shield, Gengar is a very rare spawn, but thankfully, there is a specific den that takes some of the guesswork out of the equation.

The den you will need to head toward is in Stoney Wilderness. From the Hammerlock Hills fast travel point, look out over the area in front of you and notice the bridge running across the horizon.

Head for the bottom of the bridge as it intersects with the cliff and youll find two dens. There should be two large boulders nearby if you need a landmark reference.

Once you have located the den youll need to use a Wishing Piece to enter. Youll know when you have a Gigantamax spawn if a purple beam of light shoots out from the den after placing the Wishing Piece.

How To Gigantamax Pokemon

In order to utilise a Pokemon’s Gigantamax form in battle, you need to first make sure the Pokemon you have can actually Gigantamax. For example, a Meowth caught in the wild won’t be able to Gigantamax you need a special version of Meowth with the Gigantamax ability.

To check whether a Pokemon you’ve got has the ability to Gigantamax, check their summary. If they are able to Gigantamax to the left of the Pokemon name and right of the ball icon they’re housed in you’ll see a red icon. If a Pokemon doesn’t have this, it can only Dynamax, not Gigantamax.

Below, we’ve got the full list of Gigantamax Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield, along with how to obtain each one. Most are captured via Max Raid Battles from Raid Dens in the Pokemon Sword and Shield Wild Area, but you can also receive some as gifts.

Where To Find Sizzlipede

The easiest place to find Sizzlipede is inside the Motostoke gym. Gym Leader Kabu uses it himself, and the symbol on the gym is a samurai helmet with a fiery crest. As such, it’s the perfect home for the little guys. It also happens that capturing one will be part of your gym challenge. Just run through one of the three tall grass patches in the gym and you should find a Sizzlipede. Alternatively, you could find it earlier in the grass on Route 3. But the spawn rate is 1%, so you’ll have a much easier time in the gym.

Where To Find Gigantamax Pokmon

As of now, Gigantamax Pokémon are only obtainable through mystery gifts and special events Eevee, Pikachu, and Meowth as well as Max Raid Battles. None of the Pokémon you encounter in the overworld, including the Wild Area, are capable of Gigantamaxing, making them extremely rare.

However, Game Freak has plans to make some Gigantamax Pokémon easier to find, including a limited boost to the encounter rate for Gigantamax Butterfree up until early next year.

Soft Reboot Den Glitch

Since the chances of Gengar spawning are so low, our recommendation is that you use the den glitch to speed things up and save your Wishing Pieces.

To use this technique, save your game just before using your Wishing Piece, then go ahead and use it on the den. Youre looking for the purple beam of light, but if you see red then quickly soft reboot your game and try again until you have the desired result.

The key is in the timing when you do this dont soft reboot too quickly, and dont wait too long either. You can actually set your text speed slower to make this process easier.

Once youre in the Max Raid Battle with Gengar its just a case of beating him up and using either a Repeat Ball if you have caught that species before, and an Ultra Ball if not. If you have a Master Ball, then, of course, use it if youre very keen on catching Gengar.

This special Pokemon will appear in Max Raid Battles for a limited time.

Trainers, from now until March 8, 2020 at 5 p.m. PT, you have the chance to encounter Gigantamax Toxtricity in Max Raid Battles in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

When in its Gigantamax form, this special version of Toxtricity can use a powerful move called G-Max Stun Shock, which can cause damage, as well as inflict poison or paralysis on every opponent. Plus, this Gigantamax Pokemon is even more special due to the fact that it comes in two forms. Amped Form Toxtricity can be found in Pokemon Sword, while Low Key Form Toxtricity can be found in Shield.

Which Pokemon Can Gigantamax

A pokemon that has the ability Gigant Armor can gigantamax. This ability was introduced in pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Any pokemon with this hidden ability can gigantomax!

For example, Hakamo-o is a dual-type fighting/dragon pokemon. It is level 45, and its abilities are Kam-Horn & Gigant Armor. When it gigantomaxes, its ability changes to Berserk, a fighting-type ability which increases the users attack by 1.5.

All pokemon that can gigantomax have no limit to their attack power, so they all have the ability Berserk.

How Do I Battle And Capture Gigantamax Pokemon

Gigantamax Pokemon are considerably stronger than regular Max Raid Pokemon in most cases, and their G-Max moves can make things even trickier. Make sure you’re going in with a powerful Pokemon that has a typing advantage and resistance against the Gigantamax Pokemon you’re facing.

It’s also helpful to join up with friends to fight Gigantamax Pokemon. The game’s NPC trainers that join you when you’re alone are random and often bring weak or disadvantageous Pokemon to the battle. You don’t want to be teamed up with the one who brought a Magikarp to a Gigantamax fight, so try to use the search function to pair up with other trainers or friends as often as possible.

How To Get Gigantamax Pokemon

As previously mentioned, just because a species of Pokemon has a Gigantamax form doesn’t mean that every Pokemon of that species is actually capable of Gigantamaxing. Presently, the only way to obtain a Gigantamax Pokemon in Sword and Shield is to encounter it in Max Raid battles. You can fairly easily tell if a Raid features a Gigantamax Pokemon by its silhouette when you interact with a raid den if the silhouette looks different than the Pokemon’s typical sprite, then you’ll be battling its Gigantamax form.

If you manage to defeat the Gigantamax Pokemon in battle, then you’ll have an opportunity to capture it. Unfortunately, you aren’t guaranteed to catch the Pokemon, and if it pops out of the Poke Ball you threw, it’ll run away and you’ll need to wait for it to appear in another Max Raid. It also appears you can’t pass down the ability to Gigantamax through breeding. On the bright side, however, most Pokemon you encounter through raids have at least a couple of perfect IVs, and you now have a means of changing their natures thanks to new Mint items, so it’s possible to make them viable for competitive battling.

How To Find Gigantamax Pikachu

Having activated the Wild News, Gigantamax Pikachu will now be randomly available within active Pokémon Dens emitting red or purple lights. Luckily, if you run into an event pool of Giantamax Pokémon, they will always be Pikachu. According to Serebii, thereâs currently almost only Pikachu spawning in Sword and Shield right now.

Possible Pokmon Gigantamax Locations In The Wild Area In Pokmon Sword And Shield

There are certain Pokémon Dens within the Wild Area that are more likely to contain a Pokémon with the Gigantamax Factor.
