The Best Dragonite Moveset In Pokmon Go
With access to two legacy moves, Dragonites offense can be powerful. There are multiple combinations that will facilitate excellent damage output, but the key to getting the highest is to use Draco Meteor.
This legacy charge move is by far Dragonites strongest attack, and when paired with the fast move Dragon Tail, it boasts the best offensive power for the Pokémon. Another great pairing is with the fast move Dragon Breath. Either of these will result in high damage output.
Since legacy moves are no longer in the game, players who do not already have a Dragonite with Draco Meteor will have to resort to trading for one or keeping a close eye on upcoming community days to see if theres an opportunity to learn the move.
If Draco Meteor is not an option, Dragonite still has powerful charge moves that can take its place for a slight damage reduction. The best of these is Dragon Claw. When paired together, Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw put out some of the best damage of any moveset available to Dragonite. This pairing is the optimal moveset for players looking to capture a Dragonite today.
Dragonite has moves such as Flying and Steel Wing that could be great choices given the battle matchup. But since Dragonite is a Dragon-type Pokémon, having a Dragon-type offense is going to be key to its success more often then not.
Steal Objectives With Draco Impact Or Hyper Beam
Take advantage of Draco Impact‘s extremely long-range by stealing Boss Pokemon before the opponent gets the final hit. The move takes approximately 2 seconds to hit once activated, so be sure to allot a few second seconds before targeting the objective. It may take a few tries to get the right timing of the move, but, once you get the hang of it, you Draco Impact will be an excellent tool for securing objectives for your team!
Alternatively, you can use Hyper Beams’ high burst damage to steal boss Pokemon. If you have Dragon Dance, always amplify Hyper Beams’ damage before using it to ensure a steal.
Increase Move Target Sensitivity
You can increase Draco Impact‘s targeting speed by setting the Move Panel Sensitivity to High in the Controls Setting. This allows you to speed up Draco Impact‘s reticle speed when targeting opponents from across the map. It can also help you get out of tricky situations by using the Unite move as a escape mechanism.

Also, whenever you hit an enemy with Extreme Speed, it reduces Dragonite’s Multiscale cooldown.|
|Hyper Beam, Outrage, and Draco Impact have short delays that renders Dragonite immobile and vulnerable to burst attacks. You need to practice timing and aiming its ranged moves since some of them take up to a maximum of 2 seconds to take effect – like Hyper Beam and Draco Impact. Pokemon Go Dragonite: Best Moveset For Pvp
Dragonite is one of the most common sights in the Pokemon GO Battle League
Dragonite has been in Pokemon GO battles for a long time, and its moveset has cemented it as a preferred pick on many teams.
There are plenty of other strong Pokemon to choose from in the Pokemon GO Battle league, but not many are as good in multiple cups like Dragonite is. It’s possible to see Dragonite on Pokemon GO PVP teams in the Great League, the Ultra League, and the Master League.
Dragonite is the classic choice for a Dragon-type Pokemon, and the additional Flying-type that it has gives the Pokemon more options. The best moveset to use for Dragonite is fairly straightforward.
For the Fast Attack, players should use Dragon Breath on Dragonite. In general, Dragon Tail is recommended, and it does more damage in theory, but it’s not as fast. Most players will use Dragon Breath for the speed that it has and the damage it can still output to vulnerable Pokemon.
When choosing a Charge Attack, players should prioritize Dragon Claw. With Dragon Breath equipped, Dragonite will be able to use Dragon Claw incredibly quick, and it’s fantastic shield burner with damage potential. Another option for a second Charge Attack is Hurricane or Draco Meteor.
The meteor attack has high damage but can be redundant with Dragon Claw. Hurricane will give Dragonite more options against flying-type Pokemon like Togekiss or Talonflame.

The Best Dragonite Build And Items For Pokemon Unite
Dragonite has arrived in Pokemon Unite and the original dragon Pokemon is an absolute beast with the right build.
Dragonite has always looked silly, but the Pokemon is tailor-made to terrorize in Pokemon Unite as part of the new season. With a number of different unique mechanics, it has the highest skill ceiling in the game by a significant margin.
This also requires Dragonite to use a different build than anything else seen in Pokemon Unite. While there are a couple of catch-all builds that work for the vast majority of Pokemon, Dragonite needs to dust off some of the held items that players havent really used before. This might actually make the Pokemon unviable for most players that arent pumping money into Item Enhancers, but those who have loose pursestrings will get to thrash their way through enemies with Dragonite.
Dragonite is a powerful new Ranged All-Rounder that makes a big impact! Add it to your #PokemonUNITE roster on 11/19 at 4:00pm PT!
Best Held Items For Dragonite In Pokemon Unite
- Buddy Barrier
- Razor Claw
- Eject Button
The combination to maximize Dragonites damage output in Pokemon Unite is to use a Unite Move to drop onto enemies, stun them with Outrage, then Dragon Dance to deal as much damage as possible before Outrage ends. While this isnt an unusual concept, it does require an unusual build.
Dragons and birds are natural enemies, since they can both fly! Or at least Dragonite seems to think so. #PokemonUNITE
Buddy Barrier is a standard item at this point, and Dragonite squeezes some extra juice out of it thanks to its ability to use Unite Moves more frequently than anyone else. This can be boosted further using Energy Amplifier, which boosts the regeneration of Unite Moves and gives Dragonite a damage boost after using one.
There are a number of hypothetical options for a third Held Item, with Focus Band, Muscle Band, and Scope Lens all being reasonable. The fact that Dragonite can effectively spam Dragon Dance makes Razor Claw the best for quickly and efficiently decimating enemies.
As for the Battle Item, Eject Button is the standard and gets the nod here, but Dragonite does have other options. X-Attack effectively amplifies the Pokemons damage even further while Full Heal has some use against enemy team compositions that are heavy with disables.

Best Matchups For Dragonite
Fragile and Low Mobility
|Fragile and Low Mobility|
These Pokemon will fall easily to any of Dragonite’s combos. Their low mobility prevents them from getting a better position as Dragonite dances around them.
Break Through the Defenses
Slowbro can render Dragonite immobile for a short time with Telekinesis, but lacks the follow up play to take advantage of the short lead. Blastoise, on the other hand, can put up a fight with its Rapid Spin damage and Hydro Pump push backs, but Dragonite can prevail when it gets to sustain its moves and attacks on Blastoise.
Low Offense and Defense
Blissey and Eldegoss are powerful when they are within the protection of their teammates. Alone, however, they will be forced to use support moves on themselves, which will take away most of their effectiveness. They also have little to no offensive capabilities, which makes them unable to fight back against Dragonite.
Cut the Burst Short
|High Burst Potential|
Gengar’s arsenal of burst combos remain a threat to most of the Pokemon in the roster. Dragonite, however, is capable of cutting the combos short thanks to its stun and dash moves.
What If You Don’t Have The Best Movesets In Pokmon Go
Since the introduction of the Raid Battle system in June 2017, you can get Technical Machines to change your movesets. Two of the possible rewards for beating Raid Bosses are Quick TM and Fast TM, which can be used to change Quick Moves and Charge Moves respectively. Regular TMs are completely random and cannot access Legacy Moves.
Legacy Moves are special moves that were once available for a Pokémon but are no longer. Sometimes they were removed when Niantic re-balanced the game. Some were only available on Community Day or in special Raids. Either way, if a Legacy Move happens to be the best possible move for a Pokémon and you don’t have it, you cannot get it with a normal TM. Before you use a TM on any Pokémon, you should always check to see if the move you’re changing is a Legacy Move and if that move is worth having. A lot of Legacy Moves don’t perform well, but some of them are the best moves in the game.
More recently, Niantic introduced Elite TMs. These TMs are rare, and often difficult to get or expensive, but allow you to choose from any move a Pokémon can have, including Legacy Moves. They aren’t random either. You get to choose the move. Because of how hard it is to get Elite TMs, you’ll want to save them for your very best Pokémon, but hey, now you can have a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball and Psystrike!
