How To Catch Latias

20 LATIAS & LATIOS RAIDS IN POKEMON GO

Just like with Latios, catching Latias is going to require a few steps. Players will need to team up with a group to defeat the Raid Boss and then have a successful encounter with it to complete this part of the Collection Challenge. Keep in mind that players who have a team bonus, Friendship bonus, and damage bonus will earn the most Premium Pokeballs and have the best change at actually catching the Pokemon during the encounter.

This would be a perfect time to use some Golden Razz Berries if trainers have a few to spare. Players who are skilled enough should also consider going for Great or Excellent curveballs during the encounter.

Pokemon Go Latios/latias Raid Counters

Both Latios and Latias are Psychic and Dragon-type Pokémon, making them weak to Ghost, Dark, Bug, Fairy, Ice and Dragon attacks.

There are plenty of Pokémon, especially Legendaries, that can help take down Latios and Latias, especially if they are Dragon types. Pokémon like Giratina and Rayquaza will work well, but just be wary of Latios and Latias’ own Dragon-type attacks that can take down your Pokémon.

A couple of Mega Pokémon will also do well against the two and power up you and your friends’ attacks.

Here are some options to take on Latios and Latias in Pokémon Go:

  • Mega Abomasnow with Powder Snow and Weather Ball .
  • Mega Gengar with Lick and Shadow Claw.
  • Mega Houndoom with Snarl and Foul Play.
  • Mega Charizard X with Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw.
  • Salamence with Dragon Tail and Outrage.
  • Dragonite with Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor.
  • Rayquaza with Dragon Tail and Outrage.
  • Dialga with Dragon Breath and Draco Meteor.
  • Giratina with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball.
  • Weavile with Snarl and Avalanche.

Pve Offensive Moves Explanation

Pokemon GO: Latias Raids Are Harder Than Latios
  • Dragon Breath is preferred over Zen Headbutt for yielding higher cycle DPS and being much more dodge-friendly.
  • That said, Psychic has synergy with Zen Headbutt and makes Latios a good Psychic attacker against targets weak to them such as Machamp.
  • Dragon Claw‘s 3 bars with short duration makes Latios an efficient low-motivation gym sweeper.
  • Solar Beam is a powerful move and is superior to Psychic in neutral matchups.

How Many Trainers Are Needed

Latias can be defeated with three trainers, but if you cannot guarantee the top counters with maxed out CP and the best moves, your best bet is to make sure you have four or five players.

Using the Circle Lock Technique to guarantee Great or Excellent throws, along with Golden Razz Berries, is the best way to catch Latias. Be careful, though, as these Pokémon are known to move around quite a bit.

Is Latias Good In Pokmon Go

Latios & Latias – Easiest Way To Defeat & Capture Them – Pokemon GO

Is it worth your time to catch it?

Image via Niantic

When new legendary Pokémon are available in Pokémon Go, you want to take a moment to consider if its worth your time. Not every player readily has access to raid passes or a huge group of friends to rally to battle and capture it. If youre on the fence, if you should capture one, you need to make sure its worth your time. Latias is one of those Pokémon you need to think about, especially if you have Latios as the other five-star raid option. Based on its best moveset and stats, is Latias good?

Latias is a Dragon and Psychic-type Pokémon. Its going to be weak to Bug, Dark, Dragon, Fairy, Ghost, and Ice-type attacks, but its resistant to Electric, Fighting, Fire, Grass, Psychic, and Water-type moves. For PvP, Latias has a maximum CP of 3,510, an attack of 192, a defense of 206, and a stamina of 162. For PvE, it has an attack of 228, a defense of 246, and a stamina of 190.

When it comes to PvE, though, Latias is a great choice. Much like Latios, the pair can battle against many Dragon or Fighting-type Pokémon, and it has a better-than-average maximum CP. You can expect to use it in Mega or five-star raids freely, so its not entirely a waste. If youre looking for a new, reliable Pokémon to use in raids, Latias is a worthwhile choice.

Latias Best Counters And Weaknesses

Just like her brother, Latias has lots of weaknesses. Take advantage of bug-, ghost-, ice-, dragon-, dark, and fairy-type moves to burn him down quickly. Some of Latias best counters and weaknesses include:

  • Rayquaza with Dragon Tail and Outrage
  • Mamoswine with Powder Snow and Avalanche
  • Origin Forme Giratina with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball
  • Darkrai with Snarl and Shadow Ball or Dark Pulse
  • Gengar with Lick or Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball

Take advantage of weather boosts to power up your moves. Rainy weather boosts bug-type moves, cloudy weather boosts fairy-type moves, windy weather boosts dragon-type moves, snow boosts ice-type moves, and fog boosts dark- and ghost-type moves.

Latios And Latias Raid Day

The event will take place on Friday, June 12, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. to Monday, June 15, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. local time.

The Legendary Pokémon Latias and Latios will be in five-star raids.

Latias and Latios are both Dragon and Psychic-type, so itll be best to bring along other Dragon-type Pokémon, such as Rayquaza and Dialga.

They are also weak to Ice-, Bug-, Ghost-, Dark-, and Fairy-type attacks, so some recommended Pokémon to round out your Raid Battle teams are Tyranitar, Togekiss, and Mamoswine.

Whats The Difference Between Latias And Latios

Interestingly both Latias and Latios are a dual dragon and psychic-type. The most obvious difference between them is Latias is female and Latios is male. They are the first Legendary Pokemon to have genders.

In Pokemon Go Latias has the stronger defense while Latias wins out in attack. They share the same exact stamina stat, but when adding them all together Latios comes out on top just slightly.

Usually youd think the Pokemon with the stronger defense would have the edge but in this case Latios is actually stronger, due to its superior moveset.

They both have Dragon Breath at their disposal and given the benefits of STAB, this is the best move choice here. Zen Headbutt is also available to both, but this is usually a very ineffective move. Latias does have the hard-hitting Charm, but theres no point utilizing it as there are fairy-types that can gain greater benefit from it.

Now, this is where Latios has the advantage. It has the fast charging Dragon Claw which in the PvP format is a massive plus.

While Latias does have Outrage instead, the lack of any low energy Charge Moves definitely puts it at a disadvantage. Elsewhere, Latias has Thunder and Latios Solar Beam the latter requires more energy but hits harder and has a better damage per energy.

How To Catch A Shiny Latias And Latios In Pokemon Go

¡Latios y Latias llegan a

Shiny Latias trades the red for yellow, while shiny Latios ditches the blue for green. So the pair are equally different in shiny form, and when you complete each raid, you have a 1 in 20 chance of encountering a shiny one, which is the equivalent of 5%. What’s even better is that shiny legendaries, including Latias and Latios, have a 100% catch rate, so use a Pinap Berry for maximum candy gains.

Give me a game and I will write every “how to” I possibly can or die trying. When I’m not knee-deep in a game to write guides on, you’ll find me hurtling round the track in F1, flinging balls on my phone in Pokemon Go, pretending to know what I’m doing in Football Manager, or clicking on heads in Valorant.

Latios And Latias Weaknesses And Counters

Both Latios and Latias are Psychic and Dragon Pokemon, which means they have the same weaknesses. The Legendaries are vulnerable to Dark, Bug, Ghost, Ice, Fairy, and other Dragon types, giving you plenty of options to use in battle against them.

Dark and Fairy Pokemon in particular are great counters as they resist Psychic and Dragon attacks, respectively, but Pokemon of any of the aforementioned types will be helpful when battling Latios and Latias. Here are some solid choices for each type:

  • Dark: Mega Houndoom, Tyranitar, Weavile, Darkrai
  • Bug: Scizor, Mega Beedrill, Genesect, Pinsir
  • Ghost: Mega Gengar, Giratina, Chandelure, Mismagius
  • Ice: Mamoswine, Mega Abomasnow, Galarian Darmanitan, Glaceon

How To Beat Latios And Latias In February 2021

The Legendary beasts have fallen and now its time for the EON Duo to take their turn in Pokémon GO. Latias and Latios will be appearing in Legendary, five star raids for the coming days. These two can be useful Dragon and Psychic type attackers in various forms, so you might want to grab one while you can. And theres always the chance of catching a shiny, but you need to beat them a lot to get one. To help, heres our Pokémon GO Latias and Latios raid guide featuring the best counters in February 2021.

Who Are Latios And Latias In Pokmon Go

Latios/Latias Dual Deep Dive In Pokemon Go!

Latias and Latios, also known as the Eon Duo are Legendary Pokemon from the Gen III Hoenn region. These Dragon and Psychic types have shown up in several episodes of the show and movies, almost always together, and are rare among Legendary Pokémon in that they have a gender. Latios are always male and Latias are always female. They are often referred to as twins, but in Pokémon Go, you will be battling them separately, like any other Raid.

As far as how they fare in Pokémon Go? Sadly, not great. Neither has particularly great stats or moves and both are outmatched by other Pokémon of their types, many of which are far more readily available. However, that may all be changing in the not too distant future as both Latios and Latias have Mega Evolution in the core games. Now that Mega Evolution has started popping up in Pokémon Go, we are a little closer to these two being the Legendaries they were always meant to be!

Everything We Know About Latios

Latios first appeared in Pokémon Go during April 2018 in Africa and the Americas. It could be fought in raids until May of that year, where it switched locations with Latias and became available in both Europe and Asia.

This legendary Pokémon has also been available through research task breakthroughs and special raid events.

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire are the first mainline Pokémon games that Latios appeared in While it was a roaming Pokémon in Ruby, Latios could only be found in Pokémon Sapphire if the player had an Eon Ticket. These tickets were only available at distribution events or by using the Eon Ticket e-Card with the e-Reader for the Game Boy Advance.

Latios shares its category, Eon, with Latias, which is how they got the nickname – the Eon Duo. It’s possible that their category refers to the concept of aeons in Gnosticism. This is the idea that aeons are the immaterial beings of concepts that exist in pairs of males and females, which are emanated from God.

How Many Players Are Needed

Pokémon GO Brings Back Latias And Latios For Special Raid ...

Latias and Latios have popped up before so most players have a nice team of Dragon type counters to go against them. With this in mind you might be able to take them on with just 3 to 4 players in the team, especially if your have Best Friend boosts or other factors in your favor. However, if you dont want to worry about the Latias or Latios moveset, or your teammates having amazing counters its best to go in with 5 to 6 players minimum.
