Integration With Other Titles

Pokemon Stadium 2 – Nintendo 64 Review – HD
  • GB Tower: Allows the emulation of the linked Game boy Pokémon games with augmented game play speed.
  • Pokémon Lab: This is by far the most useful feature of the Transfer Pak. The Lab PC lets the player browse the different boxes on their linked Pokémon game, allowing them to organize their Pokémon and transfer them to Pokémon Stadium 2. It also provides extra boxes which the player can use to store Pokémon from the other games. The Pokémon Lab, also, makes trading between different games possible, once they’re inserted to the Transfer Pak on the controllers. Moreover, there’s a Pokédex which players can use to investigate all Pokémon present in game and where they can be found within the Johto and Kanto maps.
  • Mobile Stadium: This option requires plugging Pokémon Crystal to the Transfer Pak. It downloads the saved battles from Crystal and lets the player preview them in 3D.
  • Mystery Gift: A feature that allows the player to send daily gifts to their second generation Pokémon games, by linking them to the Transfer Pak. The gifts vary from rare items to decorative items.
  • Your Room: This feature requires a game from the second generation to be plugged to the Transfer Pak. It lets the player view their room from New Bark Town in 3D and decorate it with the different items obtained in the Game Boy game.

Anniversary: Pokmon Stadium 2 Launched 20 Years Ago Today In Japan

    • 0

20 years ago today on 14th December, 2000, Pokémon Stadium 2 launched for the Nintendo 64 in Japan.

It was actually known as Pokémon Stadium Gold & Silver in Japan and was the third entry in the series Pokémon’s home country has had three Stadium games in total, with the first of the trio never making it across to western shores. The game arrived in Europe and North America the following year with a new title of ‘Pokémon Stadium 2’, reflecting the fact that this was only the second game to have launched in the west.

The game allows players to battle their favourite monsters in 3D on the TV, with all 251 Pokémon from the series’ first two generations being supported. Using the N64’s Transfer Pak controller accessory, you can even make use of the Pokémon you’ve caught in the Game Boy games Pokémon Red and Blue, Yellow, Gold and Silver, and Crystal taking them to new heights on the big screen.

It offers a Free Battle mode where you can battle as much as you like, a Gym Leader castle challenge which sees you taking on tough opponents, an Academy which teaches you all you need to know about battling, and a nice selection of mini-games that can be played either for fun or competitively.

Do you have any fond memories of playing Pokémon Stadium 2 on the N64? Did you manage to defeat all of the Gym Leaders? Let us know down below.

    Water Supply And Sanitation

Responsibility for the water and sanitation sector is shared between the , in charge of water supply for domestic use the , in charge of water resources development as well as sanitation the , in charge of ambient water quality and environmental preservation and the , in charge of performance benchmarking of utilities. Access to an is universal in Japan. About 98% of the population receives piped water supply from public utilities.

    Minigames And Online Multiplayer

Unlike their spiritual successor Pokemon Battle Revolution, the two N64 Stadium games are also notable because of minigames included in each package. There are nine minigames in Pokemon Stadium, with popular choices such as Clefairy Says acting like the Pokemon equivalent of Simon Says and there are 12 minigames in Pokemon Stadium 2, many of which include then-new Johto region monsters.

None of the Stadium minigames are particularly complex, but this is part of what helped them stand out. Like minigames in these are easy to pick up for players of any skill level, and appealing because of the characters involved. With through 3 also not currently confirmed for NSO’s Nintendo 64 library, the two Stadium games could fill a niche.

The NSO libraries are known for giving couch co-op games online functionality – a particular boon considering the service is first-and-foremost Nintendo’s way for players to connect games over the Internet. This offers even more potential life for Pokemon Stadium and Stadium 2, as players would likely be able to battle one another and compete in minigames online. With COVID-19 concerns persisting in the United States especially, this would be a huge deal for fans. However, for now only time will tell whether Nintendo adds the Pokemon Stadium series in the near future.

    Pokemon Stadium As Nostalgic Representation

No doubt one of the biggest reasons why it’s worth adding the Pokemon Stadium games to NSO is they would be huge draws for diehard fans that played them growing up. This is an argument that could be made for any title being released, including fan-favorites like and Paper Mario, but for Pokemon this is especially poignant given the retro game libraries on Switch.

Thus far only NES and SNES games have been released to Switch Online subscribers, which means the handheld market that Pokemon called its home for decades is currently untapped. It’s unlikely Game Boy or Game Boy Advance titles will come to NSO soon, so Pokemon Stadium would be the only opportunity for a “traditional”Pokemon battle experience to appear in the service.

It may seem silly to ask for that kind of experience when the Switch is already packed to the gills with Pokemon games thanks to Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee!, Sword and Shield, as well as the upcoming Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Legends: Arceus. However, there is something to be said for the game’s more simplistic art style and battling, and they are historically important as some of the first titles to try and translate 2D spritework creatures into full 3D models – years prior to Pokemon X and Y. A big facet of the Stadium games’ appeal is transferring one’s Pokemon from Game Boy titles into 3D, which would be missing here, but there are still battle challenges one could take on using rentals.
