You can check out our tips for evolving Pokémon in Pokémon Go for more detail, but generally its advisable to evolve your high-IV Pokémon before you start spending Stardust to Power Up and increase its Level. Thats because each time a Pokémon evolves, although its IVs stay the same, its moveset is randomised.

In Pokemon Go, there are different sources of XP with good earnings but the one considered the most XP is that of the Best Friend status with another trainer. Attaining this status might be a little difficult so you can do well to work towards other XP rewards. Here are the best of them achieve Ultra Friend status with another trainer and get 50,000, defeat the Legendary or Mega Raid Boss and get 10,000 XP.

Great Friend status with another trainer for 10,000, capture a Pokemon for seven days straight and get 6,000 XP. Defeat the third tier Raid Boss and first Raid Boss to get 5,000 XP and 3,500 XP respectively. Spin at least one Photo Disc at a Gym or Pokeshop for seven days straight for 2,000 XP. Get Xp In Pokemon Go By Playing Daily And Spinning Poke Stops

How Much Xp Do You Get From Evolving

Pokemon GO has daily XP streak rewards for capturing Pokemon and spinning Poke Stops consistently. These are some of the best ways to earn XP in the game.

Capturing a Pokemon at least once a day will earn you 500 XP for each of the first six days and a whopping 2,000 XP on the seventh. Similarly, spinning at least one Poke Stop for six days in a row will get you 500 XP daily for six days and 2,000 XP on the seventh. As a bonus, spinning a new Poke Stop for the first time will get you 250 XP.

You can also earn XP by spinning Poke Stops that are part of a Gym with 25 to 100 XP rewards given for spinning a rival teams Gym, depending on your Gym medal level, and 31 to 125 XP for spinning a Gym owned by your team.

While at a Pokemon GO Gym, give a friendly Pokemon a berry to get a 25 XP reward and defeat an opposing teams Pokemon for a 100 XP reward. Lucky enough to encounter a Raid in a Gym? You can earn 3,000 XP for defeating a regular Raid Boss and a massive 10,000 XP for defeating a Legendary Raid Boss.

While visiting Poke Stops, you may encounter the Pokemon GO Team Rocket leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo or even trigger one of the many Pokemon GO Giovanni meets. You can choose to avoid these battles if you want but, if you decide to confront these villains and defeat them, you can earn a variety of items and a chance to catch a rare Pokemon which can get you even more XP.

Pokmon Lets Go Leveling Guide: How To Gain Experience Fast

Wild Pokémon battles are non-existent in Lets Go Pikachu and Lets Go Eevee , but the Nintendo Switch title offers a new way to level up fast, and it involves the catching mechanic.

Players earn experience for every capture but the amount depends on certain factors, including the catch combo and the species of Pokémon.

Trainers looking to get their Pokémon up to Level 100 to take down the Master Trainers or other players online will definitely want to try these steps to leveling up as quickly and easily as possible.

HOW TO LEVEL UP FAST

Before you head out to start the grind, youll want to defeat the Elite Four and pick up these items at the Cerulean City Poke Mart:

  • Lures/Super Lures/Max Lures
  • Ultra Balls

The Lures will give you the best chance to encounter the Normal-type Pokémon, Chansey the fastest. Chansey has always been the best source of experience throughout the franchise, and the same is the case in Lets Go.

Ultra Balls are the best Poke Ball to use to catch Pokémon .

After youve stocked up on supplies, head to Cerulean Cave and head up the stairs. Youll want to use the co-op feature in your catch attempts because it gives a bonus multiplier.

Use a Lure and walk around waiting for a Chansey. The Normal-type Pokémon has always been the best source of experience throughout the franchise, and the same is the case in Lets Go.

Battling Strong Wild Area Pokmon

Pokemon Go #1 – One Lucky Egg = 63,000 xp (Mass Evolution Session)

The Wild Area is a new feature introduced in Sword and Shield. In it, youll find a ton of very strong and intimidating Pokémon wandering around the overworld. When battled, these are the toughest wild Pokémon youll probably face.

Some of these Pokémon will grant a ton of EXP when defeated, especially pseudo-legendaries like Tyranitar and Kommo-o. Other strong Pokémon that can be found in the Wild Area will drop lots of EXP as well, like Vanilluxe, Dusknoir, Klinklang, Gardevoir, and Roserade. Seek these out and take them down for a ton of easy EXP.

What Are Shadow Pokemon

Shadow Pokemon are ‘mon that have been corrupted by darkness, which means they have been corrupted by Team GO Rocket. Shadow Pokemon have different movesets and primarily rely on Frustration.

As you’d expect, Shadow Pokemon look different from their regular counterparts, with sinister red eyes and a shadowy aura.

Obtaining Shadow Pokemon is tied to the recently-introduced Team GO Rocket. Periodically, Team Rocket will invade PokeStops at random.

Reddit user meier-anderson discovered these invasions last roughly 30 minutes. If you notice one happening, it’s best to jump on it right away.

When a PokeStop is invaded, you’ll see it take on a darker appearance, and the icon jerks around. Although invasions are random, Niantic has apparently increased their frequency since the mechanic first went live.

Once you challenge Team Rocket and defeat the Grunt’s team of Shadow Pokemon, they’ll leave one behind. You can then capture it in the same way you would for a Raid capture.

From there, you can choose to keep it as a Shadow ‘mon or work to Purify it.

Have Nanab Berries handy when you encounter a Shadow Pokemon to make capture easier.

More Berries Than Ever

We explained in our primer that razz berries are items you can feed a Pokemon to slow it down before you capture it. Updates have introduced multiple types of berries that each have different effects.Nanab Berries: Use these berries to slow down a wild Pokemon’s movements. Strategic use of these can be key to capturing a particularly elusive ‘Mon.Pinap Berries: These double the amount of Candy you get as a reward if your next attempt to capture a Pokemon succeeds. It’s a bit of a risk though, because if you fail to capture your next target the berry goes to waste.Razz Berries: Mechanics haven’t changed here. Razz Berries can still be fed to a wild Pokemon to make it easier to catch.Golden Razz Berries: Like their less shiny cousins, the Golden Razz Berries have the same function of making it easy to capture wild Pokemon, but are much more powerful. You can use berries in tandem with a stronger Pokeball to catch particularly feisty or extremely rare Pokemon that cross your path. However, don’t use multiple berries at a time since their effects don’t stack. One of the aspiring trainers right here in the PCMag Labs caught themselves a Dragonair doing just that. Feed the Pokemon a razz berry, take out a Great Ball, give it some good arc on your throw, and catching just got a whole lot easier.

Forget Level 40 Heres How To Get To Level 50 In Pokmon Go

Leveling in Pokémon Go is one of the most important mechanics in the game. But with higher levels comes tougher objectives. In November 2020, the level cap was increased from 40 to 50, and the way leveling up those last 10 levels changed too.

For reference, Ive been playing Pokémon Go casually since the day it launched in 2016 and I feel like Ive been sitting at Level 37 since about that time. So how are so many players already at the new cap of 50? Whether youre new to the game or have been playing since Day 1 and are gearing up for Pokémon Go Fest this weekend, heres a guide to leveling up.

How To Purify Shadow Pokemon

How Much Xp Do You Get From Evolving

Purifying Shadow Pokemon is a lot easier than in the spin-off games where they first appeared.

  • Open your storage
  • Choose the Shadow Pokemon you want
  • Then choose Purify
  • Shadow ‘mon have a purple flame next to their icons. You can find the Purify option near the Power-Up and Evolve options.

Also, you don’t actually have to Purify. If you use Shadow Charmander to turn into Shadow Charmeleon, that’s certainly possible to do.

But if you do choose to Purify, it costs a set amount of Stardust and Candy that’s related to the specific Shadow Pokemon. This is where Purifying early comes in handy since it requires more Candy to Purify evolved Pokemon.

Purified Pokemon have a blue star next to their icon in your storage.

You may evolve a Raichu with a CP number outside of the predicted range. For more accurate results, you’ll have to pay attention to your Pokemon’s IVs

Earn Lots Of Xp By Following This Guide

Pokémon GO players around the world have spent the last four and a half years trying desperately to level up to the current level cap of 40. Many have reached that point over the years, but many more havent. With the level cap set to rise to 50 later on this year, trainers are definitely wanting to focus on raising their XP to reach that lofty goal of reaching level 40. And youll want to do it fast since theres rewards for hitting it by the end of the year. To help, heres how to level up fast and reach level 40 in Pokémon GO.

    How To Reach Level 40

Each new level in Pokémon GO requires a lot of additional XP to level up. Its not a linear progression, so hitting level 39 might seem like youre close but you still have a long way to go. In total you will need 20 million XP to reach level 40 in the game. The last step is to earn 5 million experience after hitting level 39, which only required 3 million XP for its level up at a total of 15 million. So one fourth of all the XP you need to gain in the game comes from level 39 to 40. The XP boosts at the end of this year will be a big help here, making it feel less like a steep climb and more of a steady progression, but you still have your work cut out for you, depending on where you are currently. Heres the last 5 levels and how much XP they require

Level 36 Earn 1.5 million XPTotal XP 7.5 million

Level 37 Earn 2 million XPTotal XP 9.5 million

Level 38 Earn 2.5 million XPTotal XP 12 million

Level 39 3 million XPTotal XP 15 million

Level 40 5 million XPTotal XP 20 million

Hopefully this explains how to level up fast and reach level 40 in Pokémon GO.

Gaining 500xp for every evolution means that with a lucky egg, one can quickly amass thousands of experience evolving many critters . Remember, a Pidgey that costs 12 candy to evolve, still grants 1000xp with a lucky egg! Other than that, it means that a Pokémon found at a high percentage trained, this is the semicircle found underneath the Pokémon’s CP, can quickly become a very strong Pokémon in the trainer’s team when evolved. Lastly, the randomisation factor means that every time you evolve a Pokémon to it’s final form, you roll these stats for the perfect combination to suit your team. Sometimes you will have to evolve quite a lot to get your moves just right.

Why Do I Want To Level Up Or Evolve My Pokmon In The First Place

There are two big reasons: fighting at gyms for your team, and XP bonuses to raise your own trainer level.

If you want to fight at gyms, you either need to find and catch high-level creatures, or level up your Pokémon. Until you get to level 20, we generally recommend saving your Stardust and Candy, because youll likely end up catching far more powerful creatures as you progress.

Once you hit 20, however, you should be able to catch Pokémon in the wild who already have a high enough level that theyre worth investing in.

Just because youre hoarding Stardust and Candy, however, that doesnt mean you want to ignore evolving entirely.

For one, evolving your Pokémon gives you access to more entries in your Pokédex, as not every evolutionary step can be caught in the wild.

In addition, you also can use the evolution of common Pokémon like Pidgey and Caterpie to dramatically increase your XP and Trainer level.
