Naming Tricks For All Of The Eevee Evolutions

How To Choose Eevee’s Evolution In Pokémon Go

Generally, it costs 25 Candy to evolve Eevee. However, with eight different possibilities, you might wonder how to guarantee a specific Eevee evolution. One way is to change Eevees name into one of the following:

Eevee Evolution
Sylveon Kira

Fun fact: these Eevee evolutions arent just assigned random nicknames. These names are based on some characters in the anime or the core games. The nicknames for Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon are the names of the three eldest Eevee brothers: Rainer, Sparky, and Pyro. Rainers signature Pokémon is Vaporeon, Sparkys is Jolteon, and Pyros is Flareon. Sakura and Tamao are two of the five Kimono sisters who appear in Troubles Brewing theyre the trainers of Espeon and Umbreon, respectively. Linnea, Rea, and Kira are Leafeons, Glaceons, and Sylveons respective Pokémon Sun and Moon trainers. Theyre three of the eight trainers you have to beat to get the Eevee Z-Crystal in the game.

To rename Eevee, simply tap on the Pokéball icon at the bottom center of the screen, then on Pokémon, and select the Eevee you want to evolve. After that, tap on the pen icon beside Eevees name, and type in the nickname of the Eevee evolution you want to get.

BySam Rutherfordpublished 27 February 17

Here’s how to choose if your Eevee will turn into a Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Espeon or Umbreon when you play Pokémon Go.

Eevee is one of the most beloved Pokémon not just because its cute and cuddly, but because it has the unique ability to evolve into one of several final forms with very different elemental affinities.

In Pokémon Go, it may seem like random chance will determine whether your Eevee evolves into a Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon or Umbreon. But upon further investigation, theres an Easter egg that takes chance out of the equation, and its really easy to manage. Heres how.

Before you start tampering with how your Eevee develop, make sure you have 25 Eevee candies so you can actually evolve your Eevee.

1. Open your list of Pokémon and select the Eevee you want to evolve.

2. Once you are in your Eevees bio screen, press the pencil icon to rename your Eevee.

3.Type in one of five names and press OK. These names are what decide which Eevolution you will get.

  • If you want a Vaporeon, enter Rainer.
  • If you want a Flareon, enter Pyro.
  • If you want a Jolteon, enter Sparky.
  • If you want an Umbreon, enter Tamao.
  • If you want an Espeon, enter Sakura.

4. Proceed with evolving your Eevee as normal. You should get the exact Eevolution you wanted.

Pokmon Go Eevee Evolutions Ranked

  • 17

As Eevee is the star of the , its time to plan what evolutions you want for your killer collection. But all Eevee evolutions are not created equal.

Each of Eevees eight evolutions has different stats and weaknesses. Knowing these will help you choose what to keep from your mega Community Day haul.

All eight ‘Eeveelutions’ are now available in Pokémon GO: Sylveon, Umbreon, Espeon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafeon and Glaceon.

In the “classic” Pokémon games, this particular monster is able to evolve into different types depending on what special items you have, its happiness level, the moves it has unlocked and the time of day. Thankfully you don’t have to jump through those kinds of hoops in Pokémon GO.

Instead, you can simply rename your Eevee to one of eight different names to guarantee a particular evolution, or employ some other tricks to get your desired Eevee evolution. There are a few caveats, but these methods definitely work.

Like almost all other Shinies, you can only catch or hatch Eevee its Shiny form. If you want any of the Eeveelutions to be Shiny, you’ll need to evolve them the same way you evolve any Eevee. The nickname trick will work if you haven’t used it already. Otherwise, you’ll need to evolve them just like any other Eevee. The same goes for the flower crown costumed Eevee.

Sylveon is the only evolution of Eevee that is currently missing in Pokemon Go . Following the various updates of Niantic, Sylveon will not arrive before 2020 in the game. How Should You Use The New Appraisal Feature

The new Appraisal feature is a great way to quickly discover how powerful your new Pokemon are. Finding out that an old favourite has a three star rating is incredibly gratifying.

It’s especially useful for when you’re comparing a bunch of the same Pokémon, as you can keep the stat appraisal screen open as you move between Pokémon. This allows you to quickly compare stats and star rankings as you try to decide which Pokémon to keep and which ones to release.

You can even search for Pokémon by their specific star tier, just like how you can search for them by name. To do this, you’ll need to search:

  • 0* = 0 Stars
  • 3* = 3 Stars
  • 4* = 3 Stars with a red background / 100% Pokémon

The new ranking system makes it a lot easier to decide which Pokémon are worth investing your Stardust and Candy in. Though it’s still important to remember a Pokémon’s rarity and whether it’s one of the best Pokémon in the game.

Though by and large the closer to 100% this is the better, depending on the Pokémon, some individual stats are more important than others – so it isn’t the be all and end all.

For example, if you have a Snorlax – one of the best creatures to put in a gym with its high health – with a low HP stat, that makes it a less attractive proposition. But then again, because it’s rare, you might not have any alternative Snorlax to rely on. Of course, an average Snorlax will still perform better than others in its field, so it could still be worth Powering up.

POKÉMON GO: How To CHOOSE Eevee Evolutions in Pokémon GO! (Vaporeon, Flareon, or Jolteon!)

Evolving new Pokémon is a huge part of the allure of the entire franchise, but especially so for Pokémon GO. But for Pokémon they also take on unique forms and attributes, such as new types and attacks. And none are more effective at evolving than Eevee who can evolve into tons of different forms. But there are tricks to them all. Heres all the best Eevee evolutions and how to them them all in Pokémon GO.

How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon

While other Eeveelutions require walking a certain distance and evolving at a specific time of the day, Sylveon is all about friendship.

To get repeat Syvleons beyond the single-use naming method, you’ll have to get one as your buddy, and then accumulate 75 hearts with it. After that, the option should appear to evolve an additional Sylveon.

To get Sylveon as your buddy, you can take photos with it, play with it, feed it, spin new PokéStops all the usual shenanigans to earn hearts with a buddy, basically. You can earn a maximum of 20 hearts per day, so, in theory, you can evolve an Eevee into Sylveon in four days.

And thats how you can get the Eeveelution of your dreams. Were fairly certain that’s the last of the Eevee evolutions coming to the the game, but well update this page with any more information if and when it becomes available.

Eevee Evolutions: How To Evolve Into Sylveon Glaceon Leafeon Umbreon Espeon Vaporeon Flareon And Jolteon In Pokemon Go

Eevee Evolution is meant to be a random process in Pokemon Go. Once you press evolve on an Eevee, you have a random chance of getting one of the original three eeveelutions. The others can be obtained through other means, all of which require a bit of effort. There’s also some useful shortcuts and cheats of a sort to get around the random factor. We’ll detail all of that below.

There’s seven Eevee Evolutions in the game so far. Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon from generation 1 are completely down to random chance. Umbreon and Espeon from generation 2 and Leafeon and Glaceon from generation 3 are obtained in specific ways. The final Eevee Evolution is Sylveon, from generation 6, and it was finally added to the game in May 2021.

So, which Eevee Evolution do you want? You’ll want to carefully consider this – each evolved form of Eevee is a different type, so you’ll want to consider strengths and weaknesses with our Pokemon Go Type Chart, at least. Plus which you think is cutest.

How To Evolve To Espeon Or Umbreon Without The Trick

There is another method to evolve an Eevee to Espeon or Umbreon , and it is to walk. The process is the following:

  • Select as a partner the Eevee that we want to evolve.
  • Walk 10 kilometers with him.
  • Get the 25 candies.
  • If we evolve the Pokémon during the day, Eevee will evolve in Espeon, while if we do it at night, Eevee will evolve to Umbreon.

However, it should be noted that, while doing all the steps well, it does not assure us that we are going to get Espeon or Umbreon , and it may be the case that, instead of them, one of Eevees other evolutions comes out. Anyway, the normal thing is that it works the first time.

Pokmon Go: How To Evolve Eevee Into Aquali Pyroli Or Voltali

Pokemon Go tips: how to choose your Eevee evolution

To choose the evolution of Eevee in Pokémon Go, simply rename Evoli before upgrading it. If you rename it Rainer, it will turn into Aquali. The name Pyro will allow it to evolve into Pyroli. Finally, a renamed Eevee Sparky will change into Voltali. This is a direct reference to episode 40 of the American version of the Pokémon cartoon, in which the Eevee brothers each have an evolution of the little creature.

If the developers continue to follow this logic of homage to the cartoon, then it will probably be possible to choose the evolution of Eevee with each new generation of Pokémon integrated into the game. Once the Pokémon thus renamed, restart the game to be sure that this change is registered on the Niantic Labs servers. Now you just need to use 25 candies to evolve Eevee into the creature of your choice.

How To Choose Your Eevee Evolution In Pokemon Go: Jolteon Flareon Vaporeon Umbreon Espeon Leafeon And Glaceon

Pokemon GO

Eevee has a special place in our hearts. While Game Freak has released plenty of Pokemon with weird evolution quirks over the years, Eevee was the first: the cute little foxlike Pokemon has a branching evolution path, transforming into one of 8 different creatures based on 8 different Pokemon types, 7 of which are currently in Pokemon GO. Which one it evolves into is random, but you can currently control whether Eevee evolves into Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Umbreon, Espeon, Glaceon or Leafeon.

There are a couple of ways to go about it for the later creatures, but by far the easiest way is to just change your Eevees nickname and then evolve it. Here are the nicknames that correspond to each evolution:

  • Jolteon: Sparky
  • Glaceon: Rea
  • Leafeon: Linnea

So thats what you do: get your Eevee, and then get enough candies to evolve it. Rename it one of these things, and you should be able to choose the evolution and fill out that Pokedex. Note that the naming trick only works once, so choose a nice strong Eevee to use it on. Eeveelutions are fairly versatile fighters for raids, so it helps to have a good one.

That means a ton of new and returning players, and things can be a little overwhelming at first: the game is much more complicated than it was when it first came out, and little tricks like these arent found in-game anywhere. Ill be doing some more basic guide stuff to get things caught up a little bit.

How To Evolve Flareon Jolteon & Vaporeon In Pokemon Go

Once youve used the nickname once, you need to use an alternate method for every other Eevee you evolve afterward. For Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon, youll need a bit of luck.

Sadly, there is no sure-fire way to guarantee youll get any of these three its completely random when you hit Evolve. Yes, you will get one of the Gen I mon, but you cant choose which one.

This means that youll either need to be insanely lucky to get the one you want on your first try, or youll need to catch multiple Eevee and stock up on lots of Candy, as the method costs 25 every time.

How To Evolve Eevee Into Leafeon And Glaceon

Grass-type Leafeon and Ice-type Glaceon are the latest Eeveelutions to be added to Pokémon Go and unlike Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon there is a secondary way of securing their forms.

In order to evolve Eevee into Leafeon and Glaceon youll have to get specific items: either the Glacial Lure Module for Glaceon or the Mossy Lure Module for Leafeon, both of which can be purchased in the in-game shop for 200 coins each.

Once you have the correct Lure Module, simply apply it to a PokéStop. While youre still close to that PokéStop and the Lure is active, evolve your Eevee using the usual 25 candies and you should get the form youre looking for. If everything is working properly, the evolution button should show the outline of the Eevee evolution you’re going to get before you press it, rather than the usual question mark.

How To Evolve Espeon Or Umbreon

POKEMON GO | How To Choose An Eevee Evolution Video Proof!
  • Espeon O Umbreon: to get one of the members of this couple is quite simple and takes exercise with it. First thing: we chose Eevee as a partner and walked 10 km with him. Now and ensuring that we have at least 25 candies, we must choose whether to evolve it from day o de night. If we choose by day, the result will be Espeon if we do it at night, the resulting evolution will be Umbreon.

To Evolve Eevee Into Glaceon:

  • Make sure you have the 25 Eevee Candy you need for the evolution.
  • Buy a Glacial Lure Module from the PokéShop for 200 PokéCoins
  • Use the Glacial Lure module on a PokéStop.
  • Spin the PokéStop.
  • While you are still in range of the PokéStop*, choose the Eevee you want to evolve.
  • Hit the Evolve button.
  • Note: It would seem as though you need to be within the normal range of the PokéStop in order to evolve Leafeon or Glaceon – not the extended radius. Always be sure to check that the icon in the evolve button is the right Pokémon and not a question mark.

How To Evolve Eevee Without The Name Trick

Unfortunately Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon all evolve randomly from Eevee. However, Umbreon, Espeon, Glaceon, and Leafeon have alternative methods.

Umbreon and Espeon both evolve after walking with the Eevee as your buddy Pokémon for 10 kilometers. Once thats done, the buddy Eevee evolved during the night will yield Umbreon while the day will yield Espeon. Note that when you evolve Eevee, it still needs to be your buddy Pokémon for this trick to work.

Leafeon and Glaceon can both be reliably evolved from spinning a Mossy Lure or a Glacial Lure, respectively. After spinning a Pokéstop with these Lure Modules active, the next Eevee you will evolve will become its leaf or ice form. Note that you need to be in range of the Lure Module. You will see the chosen Eevee evolution icon change once youve spun one of these lured Pokéstops.

Sylveonwill evolve after being set as your buddy Pokémon and earning 70 hearts with it. This will take several days of play, but you can speed up the process by using Poffins.
