As part of a promotion for the Pokémon franchises 25th anniversary, The Pokémon Company once again partnered with fast-food giant McDonalds to distribute cards in Happy Meals until March 8.;
Each Happy Meal is supposed to come with a four-card promo pack that features reprinted art of all 24 starter Pokémon and Pikachu with a special 25th-anniversary stamp on the card. In total, there are 50 cards in this limited-edition set because all 25 Pokémon have a holo and non-holo variant.;
Just like with every other Happy Meal promotion, customers can purchase the featured items separately, though this policy depends on the individual McDonalds store and management. This has led to locations being bought out of the cards entirely, leading to scalpers re-selling the limited-edition Pokémon cards online.;
Because the cards are a limited-edition run tied into the Pokémon franchises 25th anniversary, there is an inherent collectibility factor playing into the price of the cards. Some sealed boxes listed for resale can go for between $600 to $1,000, while individual packs are going up to anywhere from $4 to $20.;

What Has The Pokemon Company Said
The Pokemon Company has condoned peoples behaviour on Twitter. The overwhelming popularity of the promotion means the cards are being reprinted at maximum capacity. This ultimately means there will be more cards in circulation and therefore, those that are out there will be less valuable. Dont feed the scalpers people, the cards will be back!

So far, there have been some staggering sales on eBay. Full cases of 150 packs have already been sold for over $1,100 on the online auction site! There are also plenty of other sales that have been around or over the $850 mark.

There have also been sales of completed sets of the cards, the most expensive of these had an offer accepted around the $400 mark. Other complete sets are selling for around $300.
In terms of individual cards, the holo Pikachu takes the biscuit here. The card sold for up to $100 on its own during its peak! The Kanto starters, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle are the next most popular, all of which sold for around $20-$30 each. The rest of the starters prices range from around $10-$20.

Pretty much all McDonalds across the country should have the Pokémon cards but to be sure you should call your local McDonalds to double check.
I called up my local McDonalds over the phone and they confirmed for me.
I did see a video where the person got the Pokémon Happy Meal box but with a toy from the previous Happy Meal theme.

This years Pokemon Trading Card promotion sees every Starter Pokemon in the series history being represented with their own card. This includes Pikachu who was a starter in Pokemon Yellow. Every McDonalds Happy Meal will come with one pack of four trading cards, containing one holo and three non-holo cards.
There will be 25 different cards available in both a holo and non-holo form, meaning there is 50 total to collect. Each card will be a reprint, however, any holo card will contain the special McDonalds holographic print. They will all also have a 25th-anniversary logo.

Those on the hunt for these Pokemon cards should be aware of a few key facts: there are 25 of them , corresponding with the 25th anniversary. These cards are basically identical to their original run, except they bear a 25th anniversary logo on the bottom right. For those thinking these cards may be worth money some day, it’s worth noting that these McDonald’s Pokemon Promo cards are not worth a lot of cash. This hasn’t stopped scalpers from snatching them up, but this is a hobby born form passion and nostalgia, not a lot of money.
Of course, even 25 cards can be confusing to keep up with, so here’s a convenient and ordered check list. Simply put, there’s 1 Pikachu card and the remaining 24 cards are the three starters from every generation. As such, this check list has been ordered by generation which seems to be the best way to order them. How Rare Are These Cards
McDonalds hasnt revealed how many cards theyre actually set to distribute. If its like any other Happy Meal toy deal, theyll have planned to include the cards in Happy Meals for the rest of the month of February but theyll likely sell out faster than normal.
What we DO know is that there are 50 individual cards. There are 25 Starter Pokemon , and a foil version of each of these cards. There does not seem to be any indication that any one of these cards is more rare than the other but based on early eBay prices, the Shiny/foil version of Pikachu seems most desirable.
Each Happy Meal has a single pack of 4 cards. We dont yet know if each pack has a completely random assortment of cards, or if there are a set number of pre-arranged combinations of cards.
Each Happy Meal will cost you approximately $5, depending on your individual McDonalds locations price policy. Good luck to you and if you plan on buying a BUNCH of these Happy Meals for the cards alone, consider finding a way to donate the food to those in need. Good luck to you!
UPDATE: Based on our analysis of the packs this week, each pack has at least 1 foil card and likely 3 non-foil cards. While it doesnt seem that any one foil or non-foil card is rarer than the other, the ratio of foil to non-foil in each pack suggests that fewer foil cards were made than non-foil cards.

What Makes These Cards Special
Still, those who have been able to get their hands on the specially branded Happy Meals and cards have been;posting their love for the McDonalds cards;and the incredibly cute packing online. When compared to their original releases, the art, information, and attacks are all identical. What makes them special is the stamp of;Pokemons 25th anniversary logo at the bottom right corner of the artwork on each card. The other unique feature is that there is also a holofoil version of each of the 25 cards available, and these holofoils have a special confetti pattern, a pattern only used for special promotions such as this.

Coinciding the 25th;Anniversary is the 5th;Anniversary of Pokemon GO. Known as the Kanto Event, the event is on February 20th and starts at 9 am sharp until 9 pm local time.

Get your Pokeballs ready because the rumours are true McDonalds Australia will be launching Pokémon trading cards as well as another Pokémon-themed surprise in a Happy Meal promotion later this year.
The popular fast-food chain is yet to confirm the specifics, but so far the website reveals fans can expect to also collect a mix of Pokémon stickers and game card frames with every Happy Meal purchase. Each meal box will include carrot sticks and apple slices, plus either a Maccas hamburger, cheeseburger, chicken McNuggets, or a wholemeal snack wrap.
To celebrate 25 years of Pokémon, McDonalds is excited to confirm we will be offering Pokémon trading cards as Happy Meal toys in all restaurants later this year, said Liz Whitbread, Senior Brand Manager of McDonalds Australia.
While we cant reveal all our secrets just yet, there will be multiple trading cards to collect and a Pokémon-themed surprise with every Happy Meal purchase.
We know how much love there is for Pokémon in Australia, so we look forward to embracing the nostalgia and excitement by introducing the collectable toys later this year.
McDonalds previously released all 24 starter Pokémons in the US, including Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Pikachu, with both holo and non-holo trading cards up for grabs.

What Cards Are Available
The cards that are available are all reprints from previous sets. They include the 24 different starters from across every game, plus fan-favourite Pikachu. Although they are reprints, they contain a special 25th-anniversary logo and McDonalds own holographic foil.

This month Nintendo and The Pokemon Company worked with McDonalds to deliver Pokemon TCG card packs to Happy Meals across the USA. Previous Mickey Ds Promo Cards
McDonalds has offered Pokémon cards as Happy Meal toys in the past. Every year from 2011 to 2019, they had a special collection of 12 cards. Each Happy Meal included one card, so collectors would have to eat a lot of McDonalds and get relatively lucky to collect them all.
Previous collections often included starters for the current generation along with other relevant Pokémon during the specific year of the collection. It seems fitting for the 25th Anniversary that they have a collection of 25 cards that include starters from every generation.
Be sure to check out the collection when the promo event begins. For those that dont want to buy Happy Meals but still want the cards, be sure to ask to buy the cards separately!
