Pokemon Go Battle League Best Team

Must read

Battles In The Pokmon Go Battle League

The Best Great League Team of All Time?? Pokémon GO Battle League!

Battles within the Go Battle League are set up the same way as Trainer Battles and Team Leader Training Battles. You select three Pokémon and will be matched up with another Trainer at random. The Battle begins with your first Pokémon against your opponent’s first Pokémon, and until a Pokémon is sent out, neither Trainer knows what the other has brought with them. If you’re lucky, the Pokémon you’ve chosen will have a Type advantage, or at least not be weak against the other Trainer’s choice. There are definitely some Pokémon better suited for these Battles than others, but there isn’t a single Pokémon that cannot be countered, so there’s a fair bit of luck involved in winning these matches.

To learn more about which Pokémon you should focus on for the Pokémon Go Battle League, see our Pokémon Go Battle League Prep Guide.

Like other Battles within Pokémon Go, you’ll mostly be using your Fast Move until you’ve built up your Charged Move, which will involve hitting several bubbles on the screen to determine how strong it hits. Each Trainer will have two Shields they can deploy against any Charged Move, but dodging isn’t really an option like it is in Raids. Whichever Trainer’s Pokémon faint first loses. The winner will move up in Rank, as well as get an increase to their Matchmaking Rating. The loser won’t lose Rank, but in higher Ranks, you can lose points in your Rating.

Skarmory Has Incredible Resistances And Marvelous Bulk

Skarmory is a Flying and Steel type Pokemon. At Level 50, it has a Max CP of 2383, an Attack of 148, a Defense of 226, and a Stamina of 163. Its best Quick move is Air Slash while its best Charge moves are Sky Attack and Brave Bird .

Skarmory boasts a whopping ten resistances against other Pokemon types making it an excellent teammate. As it can absolutely destroy any Grass type Pokemon in the tier, it can be a fantastic counter to Venusaur, Tropius, and Meganium. Just make sure it doesn’t come up against any Electric or Steel types as its attacks will do next to nothing against them. about

Building Your Team Great League

if you are a long time player and have maintained a practice of just keeping the highest CP pokemon you have, youre in luck, many of them are likely competitive for PvP.

Heres a list of Pokemon who its possible youve accumulated without knowing about it. All level 35 or so.

  • LV 30+ Azumarill
  • L30+ Medicham
  • L30+ Wormadam
  • L30+ Dragonair
  • L30+ Alolan Rattata
  • L20 Machamp

Heres Pokemon that are decently common to begin collecting for evolution. The First Number for the CP Range is when you can be certain the pokemon will evolve below 1500. The second number is the maximum cp where its still possible the pokemon will evolve below 1500, but not certain:

  • Swablu CP < 551 / 616
  • Hoot hoot CP < 431 / 501
  • Nosepass CP < 653 / 716
  • Barboach CP < 530 / 592

Reach Goals

These Pokemon are pretty hard to find, but they are scary to face and something to look out for.

There are a couple of ways to be efficient with resources.

The stardust cost to get extra Charge Moves on pokemon varies! 10K ones are the cheapest. All Starters and baby pokemon have 10k second move costs.

Babies are of particular note, because many of their evolved forms have more expensive costs, meaning it is more efficient to get a second charge move while pokemon are babies. This is important for: Togepi, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Chingling, Riolu, and Azurill. If you want a second charge move on your Hitmons, Lucario, and Azmaril, do it when they are a baby.

Galvantula Is The Ultimate Counter To Two Top Meta Picks

Pokémon GO Master League Tier List in 2020

Galvantula is a Bug and Electric type Pokemon. At Level 5o, its Max CP is 2,492, its attack is 201, its Defense is 128, and its Stamina is 172. Galvantula’s best Quick move is Volt Switch while its best Charge moves are Discharge and Lunge .

While Galvantula isn’t exactly bulky, it absolutely obliterates two of the best Pokemon in the Great League Azumarill and Registeel. Players that run up against and/or lose to these two threats often should make sure to add this zappy spider to their team ASAP.

Pidgeot Politoed And Bastiodon

If youve been waiting since Season 8 to try out Pidgeot, the Pokémon team has now made it possible for all trainers to use it. We recommend giving it a try in the Lead role. You want to bring Politoed in the Switch role and then Bastiodon in the Closer role for backup.

  • Pidgeot: Gust , feather dance, and brave bird
  • Politoed: Mud shot , weather ball , and earthquake
  • Bastiodon: Smack down , stone edge, and flamethrower

What Makes The Best Pokmon In A Pvp Battle

There is one important thing to keep in mind when determining the best Pokémon for a PvP battle: IVs. Especially Pokémon’s Attack IVs. You probably already know that every Pokémon has IVs that range from 0 to 15 for each of their attacks, defenses, and stamina, and these IVs – combined into a formula with their base values and level – affect how high or low these values are currently.

The problem is that CP does not really reflect attack, defense and stamina equally! Niantics approach is that the attack weighs heavily in the formula to find out what CP a Pokémon has, but the attack doesn’t really have more impact on the combat than the other two statistics. This means that if you have a Pokémon with very low Attack IVs, you can actually work out some more statistics for it – although you have to keep in mind that of course this is only relevant in the Grand and Mid League there is no upper limit in the Master League, so you want Pokémon to be at the highest level with perfect Ivs.

Azumarill Skuntank And Mandibuzz

This is the final team recommended to bring out for the upcoming Halloween Cup and it features Skuntank. The Pokemon can be paired with both Mandibuzz and Azumarill in order to give plenty of coverage across the array of Pokemon possibly encountered in the cup. It’s necessary to get a team that can provide a huge amount of wins.

Skillset:

  • Azumarill can use ice beam, bubble, and hydro pump

  • Skunktank can use crunch, poison jab, and flamethrower

  • Mandibuzz can use foul play, air slash, and aerial ice

These suggestions are still meant to be taken depending on preference. At the end of the day, use a team that is more natural and more familiarized to save the complexities of using new Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Ultra League Best Team: The Top Pokemon To Use In The Battle League

My Best Team for Ultra League Premier Cup in Pokémon GO Battle League!

The Pokemon Go Ultra League is a format that allows only Pokemon with 2500 CP or lower. The Pokemon Go meta for the Ultra League constantly changes as more Pokemon and attacks are introduced to the popular mobile game.

While the Great League normally sees some unusual Pokemon like Bastiodon being used, the Ultra League has some more variety as the higher CP ceiling allows for more Legendaries to take part. And while Legendaries are very powerful, without the right move sets and checks for their weaknesses, trainers could have a hard time stacking wins in the Ultra League.

The Ultra League begins Monday, September 13 until September 27 and if youre looking to prepare and succeed in the upcoming format, here are some of the best Pokemon to use and their optimal movesets.

It can be tempting to just throw your highest rated Pokemon into the Pokemon Go Ultra League because after all, the higher CP must mean they’re the strongest, right? Unfortunately that’s not the case. You need to take into account their IV stats, move selection, type advantages, and other factors that determine just how effective a Pokemon is in the Ultra League meta.

What To Look For In Pokmon

Each animal has a set of stats from Strength to Stamina and depending on your location plus what/who youre battling, youll need to know who will perform the best in those circumstances.

As you catch Pokemon, you will need to feed them candy, use them in battle, and give them boosts to help them grow to their full potential. For example, lets look at one of the more common Pokemon, the Pidgey. The small bird wont seem like much at first but evolves his Attack, Defense, and other skills. While certainly not one of the best for battle, he is one of the best youre more likely to find.

Hidden Mechanics In Leader Battles

Each team leader battle has a few hidden mechanics that are activated depending on the League you compete in. All of these mechanics are were discovered in the Game Master, hidden away in something that Niantic calls Trainer Personality.

There are three Trainer Personalities and Blanche, Candela and Spark use all three of them as you go through the Leagues:

Swampert Has Massive Attacking Power

Swampert is a Water/Ground type Pokemon. At Level 50, its Max CP clocks in at 3,362, its Attack at 208, Defense at 175, and Stamina at 225. Swampert evolves from Marshtomp with 100 Candy, which evolves from Mudkip with 25 Candy. Swampert’s best Quick move is Mud Shot , while its best Charge moves are Hydro Cannon , Earthquake , and Sludge Wave .

Though it struggles against Grass type Pokemon, Swampert is a serious threat in the Great League as its moves are phenomenal. Swampert offers great coverage and capitalizes on this due to killer attacking power. If the trainer has Shadow Swampert instead of regular Swampert, that works too!

Setting Battle Parties For The Pokmon Go Battle League

My Best Teams from Season 3 of Pokémon GO Battle League ...

Another thing you can do to prepare for your next Battle is set Parties. Pokémon Go allows you to set up multiple Parties for each League This lets you pick out specific Pokémon ahead of time. When you go to Battle in the League, your chosen Party will be there waiting for you so you won’t have to wade through your hundreds of Pokémon to find the specific Tyranitar you want to bring. This is especially useful for players who have multiple of the same type of Pokémon for different purposes.

Jellicent Vigoroth And Regice

The last team we want to recommend features Jellicent, the Ghost and Water-type Pokémon, in the Lead role. Its one of the best attackers in this competition, and its a bulky choice, making it hard to defeat. In the Switch role, you want to use the Normal-type Vigoroth, and then the legendary Ice-type Pokémon, Regice, as the Closer.

  • Jellicent: Hex , bubble beam, and shadow ball
  • Vigoroth: Counter , body slam, and bulldoze
  • Regice: Lock on , blizzard, and earthquake

Understanding Your Dream Team

For those who are new to Pokemon Go Battle League, you need to know a lot of things before lining up your perfect Poke team. With more than 600 Pokemon available, the cute little creatures with crazy names can evolve into a monstrous beast ready to take on your friends and help you keep your dignity.

Best Great League Remix Pokmon

  • Bastiodon

Bastiodon was powerful before and will continue to be. Its ranked the fifth-best Pokémon on gamepress.ggs Great League tier list, and it should continue to be a threat. Bastiodon boasts extremely high Defense and HP stats and has a great coverage move in Flamethrower, which helps it against Steel and Grass-type threats.

  • Registeel

Registeel has been a staple in the Great League format since the GO Battle League first came out. It didnt make the ban list, however, so it will still be legal for use. Like Bastiodon, its bulky, but its mono-Steel typing helps give it plenty of nice resistances. Talonflame and Swamperts bans should help it out even more in this format.

  • Altaria

Altaria is another Great League staple, but it fell out of favor a little bit after the release of Galarian Stunfisk. Dragon Breath is an excellent fast attack that does good damage. It also enjoys a decent Defense stat, which gives it plenty of time to charge up Sky Attack or Dragon Pulse.

  • Meganium

Meganium should be a suitable replacement for Venasaur. It has access to Frenzy Plant, an excellent Grass-type charge move, along with Earthquake to help deal with Steel-type threats like Bastiodon and Registeel.

  • Medicham

Having a good Fighting-type option will be important, and Medicham is a solid pick. Medicham is versatile and can learn charge moves like Ice Punch to deal with Flying or Grass-type threats, as well as Psychic or Power-Up Punch. This can help throw opponents off guard.

  • Trevenant

  • Galarian Stunfisk
  • Shadow Machamp
  • Scrafty
  • Shadow Nidoqueen
  • Shadow Beedrill
  • Compared to the previous season, the big exclamation point of this list is Trevenant. This vexed Pokémon that might as well have come out of The Lord of the Rings didnt come into play until the 2021 Halloween event and has been blowing up the meta ever since. Its dual typing as a Ghost and Grass monster gives it six resistances , and those types are commonly played in Great League, which is as valuable an asset as it sounds.

    Galvantula Mandibuzz And Wigglytuff

Now would be the perfect time to use the hard-to-capture Mandibuzz. With both Wigglytuff and Galvantula, the team can deal significant damage.

    Skillset:

    • Mandibuzz can use foul play, air slash, and aerial ace

    • Galvantula can use lunge, volt switch, and discharge

    • Wigglytuff can use ice beam, charm, and play rough

    Best Attackers For Great League

  • Bastiodon
  • Jellicent
  • Diggersby
  • Wigglytuff
  • Azumarill
  • Scrafty
  • Wobbuffet
  • Aromatisse
  • Raising a Bastiodon for Great League is expensive, but there is hardly a better investment running against this wall as an opponent is a real nightmare. Diggersby is one of the few monsters that can be reasonably solid against it. The battle bunny has good qualities in all areas that, while not outstanding on their own, are very potent when combined, which makes it a surprisingly good pick despite being Normal type.

Some additional options that are widely available include Pidgeot and Alolan Ninetales , Dazzling Gleam) as Leads, Swampert and Lickitung as Attackers, Drifblim and Abomasnow , Energy Ball) as Safe Switches, and Deoxys and Magnezone as Closers.

This list should give you a good starting point to begin building your own team. Be ready to experience plenty of surprises and challenges in the GO Battle League, as you can never be fully prepared for everything with many thousands of possible team compositions being available. And dont worry too much about that: your opponents will fare the same way.
