Garchomp: Dragon Tail & Outrage
The combination of Dragon Tail and Outrage makes Garchomp a force to be reckoned with. Doing 16.4 DPS, Dragon Tail is perhaps the most powerful dragon-type quick attack in Pokémon Go.
With that in mind and the addition of an extra 33.8 DPS from Outrage, Garchomp can turn the tides of battle and put its trainer in the best stead in raids and PVPs alike.
Flygon: Dragon Tail & Earthquake
Although not a dragon-type move, Earthquake is worth getting when it comes to Flygon. Both its main and quick attacks can do some wonderful damage and make this Pokémon one worth getting.
Firstly, its attack is 205, miles ahead of Giratina. Secondly, Flygon’s main attack has a DPS of 46.5, which is readied perfectly and quickly by Dragon tail that does 16.4. Altogether, these complement each other perfectly, without the need of a same type attack bonus.

As the featured Pokémon in the for Pokémon GO, many hoped that Flygon would be the next in a line of Pokémon to see a significant upgrade with a super powerful Community Day move. Hydreigon, the Brutal Pokémon, has its name for a reason. This all-out attacker has a number of viable movesets it can bust out, meaning its hard to predict in battle. In fact, many of its combinations are equal in efficiency, so the biggest edge to be gained is through type-coverage.
Bite offers STAB dark-type attacks with decent enough coverage. Its three Charged Attacks are all powerful in their own right, but the best one provides both a high base damage and a STAB boost. Dragon Pulse is also more energy efficient than Dark Pulse, which gives it more of an edge.

Ah, Flygon! A criminally underrated Pokémon in design, lore and competitive viability. Being the pioneering Pokémon with the Ground and Dragon type combination . Flygon is almost always overshadowed by another Dragon and Ground monstrosity known as Garchomp, which is an absolutely dominant Pokémon in nearly any meta or format.
With similar movesets but inferior stats, Flygon was passable even in Pokémon Go until
Dragon Tail got buffed and spamming moves in PvP increasingly became a favoured playstyle for many trainers.
With Flygon tailormade for both those parameters, its finally time for the Mystic Pokémon to use its inherent valour and natural instinct to threaten the PvP meta, particularly the Great and Ultra League where Flygon is convenient to use.

That means each encounter with the community day-specific Pokemon has a four percent chance of being shiny. Thats considerably higher than the 1/450 chance youd have outside of a Community Day bonus.
Youre going to want to evolve at least one shiny Trapinch into shiny Flygon for the sake of collectibility. However, we dont suggest doing more than that. It costs a whopping 100 candy to evolve Trapinch into Flygon. Given its numerous usable movesets, youre better off evolving whichever Trapinch you find with the best stats, rather than aiming specifically for shiny Pokemon.
Flygon In The Great League
When youre weak to two of the top Pokémon in Great League play, youd better have some really good redeeming qualities. Thankfully, Flygon does!
Thanks to its STAB Ground type moves, Flygon does very well against the many Steel types lurking within the Great League. Its secondary Dragon typing also means that the Grass and Water types commonly used to beat fellow Ground types dont always work.
Because of this, Flygon works best on teams that need help against Steel types, but cant afford to completely open themselves up to the powerful Grass and Water types in the meta. When using Flygon, you absolutely need counters to Altaria, Skarmory, and Azumarill.
An Electric type, particularly Lanturn, can work very well as it also resists Ice type moves that will definitely be coming Flygons way if the opponent has access to them. Bastiodon is a strong pick as well to pair with Flygon.
It can defeat Altaria and Skarmory without the need to use its charge moves and any Azumarill lacking Hydro Pump will also struggle to get past Bastiodon. On top of this, Bastiodon is able to beat almost every Fairy type for Flygon.
When looking for a 100% PvP IV spread on Flygon, you will want to look for a 0 / 15 / 9 IV spread. If youre trading for one, the following spreads will be what to look for based on what friend level youre trading with:

Note: Shadow Flygon with Stone Edge also has a win rate of more than 74% but it doesnt make too much of a difference. That raw damage from Dragon Tail coupled with the spammy Dragon Claw and the Steel killing STAB Earth Power is the clear process here.

For those who dont, however, Flygon Community Day is a great opportunity to get team of decent Dragon-type Pokemon ready to tackle some unique targets.

Paired with the availability of the exclusive move an hour after the event ends, you can focus on catching anything and everything you see for a sweet EXP boost. With a decent curveball throw, and a capture on the first toss, its possible to get just around 1.2K exp per catch with a Lucky Egg in effect. Three hours of catches can really help that amount stack up.

Works Well With Supplemental Attackers
As Flygon’s weaknesses, Ice and Fairy, are weak to Steel-type moves, it’s best to bring one along. Pokemon with dual-typing are best as they have a larger move pool and can take on a wider variety of opponents.
Also, since Fairy-type Pokemon are immune to Dragon-type moves, you can safely choose something other than Dragon-type Pokemon.

Q Is Flygon Legendary
While Flygon is a good Pokemon, it is not classified as a legendary Pokemon. It is not the mascot of Ruby and Sapphire and it can still be left at daycare for eggs. Flygon is not a legendary Pokemon by definition or battle capability. Its lore may lead you to believe it is a legendary Pokemon, but it is simply available in the wild, making it a popular pick for casual playthroughs.

Latias: Dragon Breath & Outrage
In some instances, the strength of an attack and the same-type moveset is all one needs after all, DPS is vital when it comes to hurting the opponent. However, it’s worth considering the same-type attack bonus granted by having two of the same types in a Pokémon’s moveset.
Latias’ quick attack does a mediocre 14.4 DPS, whilst Outrage only deals 33.8 DPS. However, the attack bonus and Latias’ attack of 228 makes it a pretty effective battle companion.
Pve Offensive Moves Explanation
- Dragon Tail should be paired with Dragon Claw. This set has better neutral coverage and damage than the Ground-type set.
- Mud Shot should be paired with Earth Power. This set has an advantage against types weak to Ground, but is overall weaker.
- Stone Edge may have a few niche uses, but is generally the worst option.
- Earthquake is outright inferior.

What Is A Good Moveset For Flygon
Dialga: Metal Claw & Draco Meteor
Interestingly, Metal Claw isn’t the strongest quick attack Diagla has, with Metal Claw only doing 13.7 DPS as opposed to Dragon Breath’s 14.4. But when it comes to energy, Metal Claw takes the top spot.
Since Draco Meteor is so powerful, the quick attack is there to build up energy so the Pokémon can do some mass damage. This is the exact reason that Dialga is above Dragonite, as its max CP is an extremely high 4,038, just over 200 CP more than Dragonite.

Best Moveset For Flygon In Pokmon Go

Flygon is an interesting Pokémon for you to consider in your roster in Pokémon Go. It has mixed typing, so you have plenty of options of who you want to match with it, and it could be an interesting choice for you to use in the games PvP. This is the best moveset for Flygon in Pokémon Go.
Flying is a Dragon and Ground-type Pokémon. Its weak to Dragon, Fairy, and Ice-type moves, but its resistant to Electric, Fire, Poison, and Rock-type attacks. It has a maximum CP of 2,661, an attack of 173, a defense of 144, and a stamina of 162. Because of its lower stats, its unlikely youll be able to utilize it in the Master League. Still, its a viable option for the Ultra League, and it could be used in the Great League, but the shadow version of Flygon is much better for that category.
These are all of the moves Flygon can learn.
Reshiram: Fire Fang & Draco Meteor
The first of the three legendary dragons, Reshiram has its fans and offers some serious heat in battle. Similar to Hydreigon, many of its movesets are equally viable and its typing makes it hard to kill. Its best moveset uses both of its two types for maximum efficiency.

Fire Fang is better than Dragon Breath in all situations, with higher DPS and energy generation. Four possible Charged Attacks gives Reshiram a few different options, but the best of the bunch is clearly Draco Meteor. The move may be slow and take a long time to charge, but Fire Fang helps in quickly getting out as many Earth-shattering meteors as possible.

Verdict On Flygon In Pvp
While Flygon is more or less a spice pick in both the GL and UL meta, Shadow Flygon is on a different level altogether! It salvages the Dragon Tail buff very efficiently and rounds up to be a really dangerous Dragon type generalist in PvP. It still falls like a pack of cards to the Fairy and Ice types. However, even with Dragon Tail, it can hold its own against steel types through Earth Power.
So Flygon and Shadow Flygon may definitely be one of your deadliest Dragon types in the Great and Ultra Leagues. You just cant go wrong with the infamous Ground and combo!

Pokemon GO October 2019 Community Day is scheduled for Oct. 12, 2019. Remember community day times switched back from being later in the day to mid-morning/early-afternoon activities. That means your three-hour community day window is 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. wherever you are in the world.
