Look through the binoculars on the second floor of the Great Marsh lobby to see a set of Daily Pokemon which will be available in the Great Marsh that day.
Using The Move Rankings
Each Pokemon has a pool of Fast Moves and a pool of Charged Moves. Some moves might be better in one battle, and other moves might be better in another. For Trainer Battles, you’ll want know which moves will be the best ones to have in the most matchups. You might also want to know which Pokemon are the best candidates for a second Charged Move. The move details within each Pokemon ranking can help you determine that.
Moves are ranked using calculations primarily based on their damage and energy cost. Stat changes are also factored in. These calculations are run for each matchup, and then totaled across the format. Matchup weighting affects these numbers as well, so moves that would be used against significant meta targets will rank higher.
When looking at potential moves, keep an eye out for Pokemon that have a strong tendency toward a single Fast Move and a single Charged Move. These Pokemon will have their optimal moveset in the most matchups. On the other hand, some Pokemon see more balanced usage in their Charged Moves. This is where having a second Charged Move comes into play.
As an exercise, select any one Pokemon in the Team Builder tool and compare its battle histograms when it has one Charged Move and when it has two. If a second Charged Move improves its matchups, it might be one worth investing in.

Toxicroaks Move Pool Analysis
Toxicroaks moves are varied, focusing on the dirt fighter lore that Toxi is based upon. Fast move selection is solid, with Counter and PJ offering good coverage for both types, and charge moves are solid as well.
Of course, youd probably want to stay away from Mud Bomb, as it lacks STAB and it Toxicroak isnt really the Pokemon you want to use when you need a strong Ground type .
So its down to two move sets:
- Counter / Dynamic Punch for countering Normal types and using Toxicroak as a Fighting type
- Poison Jab / Sludge Bomb for any other scenario when you want to use a Poison typed attacker
And how are the sims looking? Well in our simulations, Toxicroak usually ranks around fourth or fifth place as a Fighting type, following the usual suspects Machamp, Hariyama, FB Mewtwo, Heracross and contesting with Breloom. Mind you, these rankings are temporary as Gen 1 3 Pokemon still dont have the CP rebalance activated. As a Poison type, its outclassed by Roserade and Gengar in almost every match-up and we really wouldnt recommend using it that way.

What About Types In Pokmon Go
It’s also important to keep in mind types! While some Pokémon only have one type, most have two and all Pokémon can learn moves from multiple types. Although most Pokémon have a single moveset that is the best for their whole species, there are some Pokémon who have multiple sets. Take Chandelure, for example Chandelure is a Fire and Ghost type and can be one of the best of either. If you’re using your Chandelure as a Fire type, you’ll want it to know Fire Spin and Overheat, but if you’re going for Ghost type, you’ll want Hex and Shadow Ball.
Pokemon Go: Best Fairy
Fairy-type Pokemon, unfortunately, don’t seem to enjoy the same glittering stature as they do in the main series. This might be due to Pokemon GO’s combination of physical and special stats into one single stat, as Fairy-types typically excel in Special Attack and Special Defense and have very poor physical Attack. Regardless, they’ll have some good use against the types that Fairy typically takes down, those being Dark, Fighting, and most notably, Dragon. But, often there are better choices against those types.
Without question, your best bet for a Fairy-type is going to be Gardevoir. Its Shadow version is easily the best Fairy-type generally speaking, though Togekiss outpaces it in overall TDO. Non-Shadow Gardevoir is also fantastic, ranking as one of the best Fairy-types just behind Togekiss, Xerneas, and its own Shadow variant. The fact that Xerneas doesn’t have access to a Fairy-type fast move puts Gardevoir ahead in that respect, though. Once Mega Gardevoir is added to the game, it’ll be even better, though still sitting behind Togekiss’ TDO . As a generalist, you’ll want Charm + Dazzling Gleam, but Gardie’s Psychic-type moveset of Confusion + Psychic will do better against Fighting-types.

Pokemon Go: The Best Bug
Overall, Bug isn’t the best type. Sure, it has its uses, especially in terms of taking down Psychic- and Dark-types from time to time, but both of those types have other weaknesses that are home to Pokemon that are much stronger. With that said, Bug-types can find some niche use here and there.
Mega Beedrill is far and away the best Bug-type, without question. However, even with its best Bug-type moveset of Bug Bite and X-Scissor, its DPS still falls behind. With a monster max Attack stat of 303, though, it’s worth paying attention to, especially with its low evolution cost from Weedle and Kakuna.
For the rest of the ranking, you’re looking at the same familiar faces that dominate the Bug-type in the main series. There are no surprises here, to be sure. Pinsir and Scizor both do very well, whether in their boosted Shadow forms or just the vanilla forms. When their Mega Evolutions are released, they’ll be pretty great, though they may not take down Mega Beedrill.
Genesect has a fun gimmick with its different Drives, but sadly none of them add much value. It’s best as a Bug- or Steel-type, with the moves to match. The different Techno Blast types can have their use in the PvP meta, but they aren’t that great in PvE. As far as Bug-types go, if you’re looking for something that isn’t Shadow or Mega Evolved, Genesect is the best.
What If You Don’t Have The Best Movesets In Pokmon Go
Since the introduction of the Raid Battle system in June 2017, you can get Technical Machines to change your movesets. Two of the possible rewards for beating Raid Bosses are Quick TM and Fast TM, which can be used to change Quick Moves and Charge Moves respectively. Regular TMs are completely random and cannot access Legacy Moves.
Legacy Moves are special moves that were once available for a Pokémon but are no longer. Sometimes they were removed when Niantic re-balanced the game. Some were only available on Community Day or in special Raids. Either way, if a Legacy Move happens to be the best possible move for a Pokémon and you don’t have it, you cannot get it with a normal TM. Before you use a TM on any Pokémon, you should always check to see if the move you’re changing is a Legacy Move and if that move is worth having. A lot of Legacy Moves don’t perform well, but some of them are the best moves in the game.
More recently, Niantic introduced Elite TMs. These TMs are rare, and often difficult to get or expensive, but allow you to choose from any move a Pokémon can have, including Legacy Moves. They aren’t random either. You get to choose the move. Because of how hard it is to get Elite TMs, you’ll want to save them for your very best Pokémon, but hey, now you can have a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball and Psystrike!

Pokemon Go: Best Water
If you’re in need of a good Water-type, you’re a bit spoiled with choice. There are plenty of great Water-types, as well as some great ones that aren’t even released yet. And, you can dominate without even needing a Shadow version or a Mega Evolution, as many Water-types measure up to the big fish in their vanilla forms.
The likes of Kingler, Feraligatr, and Kyogre need no special boost to sit with the upper echelons.
With Kyogre, you’re looking at a massive TDO of 919.04, and that’s before its signature move, Origin Pulse, is even in the game, OR its Primal Reversion, which will just be ridiculous when it arrives. Kyogre once ruled the seas before the release of Mega Evolution and Shadow Pokemon, but it still compares to them, and it’ll be back on top when its Primal Reversion is released.
Kingler was relatively unremarkable before Crabhammer was added, and that addition catapulted it to the hall of fame among Water-types. Its DPS almost outpaces Kyogre, though it’ll go down faster, making it a bit of a glass cannon in comparison. However, with a massive max Attack stat of 240, Kingler hits hard.
The absolute best of the best in the world of Water Pokemon are Mega Blastoise, Mega Gyarados, and Shadow Swampert.
Is Toxicroak Shield Exclusive
Of the generation eight games, Toxicroak will only appear in the Pokemon Shield version. If you would like a Toxicroak in Pokemon Sword, you will need to obtain one by trading. You cannot encounter a Toxicroak naturally in Pokemon Sword, and it thus makes Toxicroak a Pokemon Shield exclusive Pokemon in generation eight.

Toxicroak is a Pokemon that was first introduced in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, serving as the evolution of Croagunk. This Poison/Fighting type is an absolute powerhouse in the right hand and with the right moves and has access to a diverse range of moves thatll keep opponents guessing. In Pokemon GO, Toxicroak has seen prevalent use in competitive battles as of late, leaving everyone to want a poison monster of their own.
Luckily, this Pokemons pre-evolution is pretty common and only requires 50 candy to turn into a Toxicroak.
Just go with Toxicroak. He trashes those three.
Trainers will be pleased to hear that Toxicroak has the same optimal moveset for both styles of play, making this Pokemon very adaptable to most Pokemon foes can send out. For the Quick Move, teach this frog Counter, and opponents will think twice before sending out their best Pokemon once they see this fast move. For the Charge Move, teach it Dynamic Punch, and send opponents in a panic once they see the raw power of the punch.

Weather Influence On Toxicroak
You definitely dont want to use Toxicroak against Pokémon with access to Psychic moves in Windy weather. As a matter of fact, any boosted super-effective move will tear through it because of its low HP and DEF. It performs the best in Cloudy weather.
